1	* AccidentallyCorrectWriting: The mole characters Diggum and Gurrbowl switch genders between books. 2	* CelebrityVoiceActor: The animated series features the prolific and versatile Creator/TimCurry as the voice of Slagar the Cruel.
3	* CreatorsFavorite: Brian Jacques named Gonff as his favorite character overall and Cluny the Scourge and Tramun Clogg as his favorite villains.
4	* DiedDuringProduction: Brian Jacques died of a heart attack before he could complete the series' 23rd book (and by extension the series, as he'd never intended to stop writing).
5	* EditedForSyndication: When the AnimatedAdaptation aired on Creator/PBSKids, it added in-between segments featuring Brian Jacques talking about something like how he came up with one of the characters or a group of kids engaging in a re-enactment of a medieval scenario.
6	* FakeBrit: The animated series stars Canadian actors all doing British accents.
7	* FakeRussian: Bizarrely, the Guosim shrews in the Creator/{{Nelvana}} animated series speak with Russian accents (performed by Canadian voice actors). While the books are known for having characters with diverse accents (such as the German-sounding ferrets in ''Triss''), there is no indication in them that shrew culture is inspired by Russia in any way.
8	* OnlySoManyCanadianActors: The Creator/{{Nelvana}} adaptation features numerous actors who have appeared in other Nelvana cartoons, as well as a large number of actors who are actually better know for live-action roles in stage theater or popular Canadian TV shows. Notably, many of them voice different characters throughout the three seasons and you can often tell, mostly notably with Creator/DiegoMatamoros as Cluny the Scourge and Badrang the Tyrant (the [[BigBad Big Bads]] of seasons 1 and 3 respectively.
9	* TheOtherDarrin: In the French dub of the animated series, Matthias is voiced by Creator/EmmanuelGarijo in the 1st season and by Creator/AlexandreGillet in the 2nd season.
10	* PopCultureUrbanLegends: There's one about the title of the 23rd planned book being "Pondicherry".
11	* RecycledScript: The animated series has a weird example. Season 1 is adapted from the first book, but it includes an episode titled "Cluny's Clowns" in which Cluny the Scourge attempts to infiltrate and take over Redwall Abbey by disguising his goons as circus performers. [[AdaptationExpansion This didn't happen in the original book]], but a similar scenario ''did'' happen in the book's direct sequel, ''Literature/{{Mattimeo}}'', when Slagar the Cruel disguises himself and his goons as circus performers to infiltrate the Abbey and kidnap the children. The show would later adapt ''Mattimeo'' for Season 2, making it ''seem'' like they were reusing the CircusEpisode plot when, in reality, ''Mattimeo'' actually did it first.
12	* ShrugOfGod: When Brian Jacques was asked about the identity of Sam Squirrel's DisappearedDad Mr. Squirrel, he simply said "no particular story is attached to Mr. Squirrel."

14	** It is likely that [[http://redwall.wikia.com/wiki/User_blog:LordTBT/News:Is_There_A_Redwall_23%3F_An_Old_Mystery_Deciphered a 23rd book,]] with a title of ''Pondicherry'', was in the works at the time of Jacques' death: there had been a contest to create a character to appear in the books. The winning character was Reisa Kartwell, a haremaid cartographer from Salamandastron. The winner was sent an illustration of the character. As this character did not appear in ''The Rogue Crew'' (the only book to come out after the contest), it's assumed that this character was meant to be in the next book after that. It also makes some wonder what Brian Jacques was planning next.
15	** A fourth season of the TV series was to have been in production, adapting the ''Mossflower'' book, but was cancelled for unknown reasons.
16	* WriteWhoYouKnow: WordOfGod is that Jacques based Gonff the Mousethief on his younger self, and Constance the badger was based on his grandmother. If that's true, Jacques must have had an ''impressively'' [[NeverMessWithGranny badass grandmother]]...
