After interviewing these strangers, the federal agents learn that they are time travelers from almost two centuries into the future, fleeing genocide at the hands of beings called the Apex.

8	Most of these refugees only seek shelter, but they are not the only new arrivals. Another group has already arrived and is carrying out a plan to alter the future to prevent the Apex from taking power. And then there is also an Apex hiding among the new arrivals.
