''Gone'' follows Kick Lanigan (Creator/LevenRambin) as she reclaims her past and joins a special FBI force to solve missing persons cases.

The series also features Creator/DannyPino as John Bishop, Kick's partner on the team; Creator/ChrisNoth as Frank Novak, Kick's mentor and the leader of the team; Creator/AndyMientus and James Finley, Kick's best friend and another member of the team; and Creator/TracieThoms as Maya Kennedy, Frank's partner on the team.

The series is based on Creator/ChelseaCain's ''Literature/OneKick''.
----
!!Tropes include:
* TenMinuteRetirement: In the finale, Kick [[spoiler:gets removed from the team, only to return a few scenes later]].
* ActionGirl: Kick, who completely lives up to her nickname. Kennedy fits the bill as well.
* AdaptationalModesty: In the novel, Kick and Bishop's first meeting involves Kick being completely naked. Here, they're both fully clothed.
* AllThereInTheScript: Kick's last name is spelled, "Lanigan," as opposed to the books spelling of "Lannigan."
** James' last name is Finley, despite it never being mentioned in the show.
** Kennedy's first name is Maya, though it was never mentioned.
* AscendedExtra: In the book, Frank had a small role that mostly consisted of him and Bishop fighting. Here, he's the head of the team and a central character.
* BittersweetEnding: The team finally [[spoiler:takes down Mel Foster after many episodes of following his trail, but Frank is in serious condition after being shot, Kick is still off the team (and Frank could possibly get in major trouble for allowing her to secretly work with them), Neil Pruitt has disappeared, and Kick and Bishop have found a tunnel leading to an unknown place.]] It doesn't help that the series was cancelled after one season, leaving many ropes to be left untied.
* DayInTheLimelight: ''Romans'' is a James-centric episode, as apposed to the others that focus more on Kick, Bishop, and Frank.
* DemotedToExtra: James had a larger role in the novel and was a major plot point. In the series, his relationship with Kick is lessened and his backstory of him [[spoiler:being sold for drugs at age nine to a pedophile who tortured and raped him, and later, returned to kill him]] is only briefly mentioned.
* {{Gayngst}}: Averted with James as he's openly gay, though his sexuality does come into play when [[spoiler:he's given the choice to return to his [[ProdigalFamily estranged family]] who kicked him out for coming out.]]
* LastNameBasis: Both Bishop and Kennedy go by their last names, though sometimes others will refer to Bishop as his first name, John.
* ProdigalFamily: James' family kicked him out when they learned of his sexuality. Several years later, he's given the opportunity to return to them. Even without counting the horrific events he endured as a result, James is rightfully appalled at the idea.
