Ayria (pronounced area) is a Canadian futurepop/synthpop musical solo project formed in early 2003 by Toronto's Jennifer Parkin (formerly of the band Epsilon Minus). Her music incorporates feminine vocals with elements of {{Industrial}}, {{Trance}} and 80's new-wave.

* AliceAllusion: "Blue Alice" is ''Literature/AliceInWonderland'' themed.
* AudienceParticipationSong: "My Revenge on the World" becomes one live, where the audience is encouraged to count along with Jennifer Parkin and punch the air during the "Strike!" chant.
* BigShutUp: Several times in "The Gun Song"
* BreakupBreakout: After leaving Epsilon Minus the band fizzled out after a couple years, while Parkin has gained much more notoriety with her solo project, still going strong after a decade.
* BreakupSong: "Three Months"
* BrokenBird: The songs "Girl on the Floor", "Lovely Day" and "1000 Transmissions" are good examples.
* EpicRocking: "Lovely Day". Though in this case it's Epic Trancing.
* FracturedFairyTale: "Blue Alice" is, as the song itself says, one [[PrecisionFStrike fucked]] up fairy tale.
* FunWithAcronyms: Parkin once playfully suggested that "Ayria" stands for "'''A'''wesome, '''Y'''eah '''R'''eally '''I''''m '''A'''wesome."
* GirlsWithGuns: The album cover and photo shoots for ''Hearts For Bullets'' played this trope up to it's fullest, even though "The Gun Song" is a DoesntLikeGuns song, and apparently Jennifer Parkin is in fact very anti-gun.
* GriefSong: "1000 Transmissions", "Letter From an Angel"
* LyricalDissonance: Some Ayria songs are uncannily the catchiest {{Tear Jerker}}s you'll ever hear, when you listen to the lyrics.
* TheManIsStickingItToTheMan: The subject of the song "Selling Rebellion".
* MsFanservice
* ObligatoryBondageSong: "Bad List" and a cover of "Hurting You Is Good For Me".
* OneWomanWail: "Counterblow", in which Parkin just begins vocalizing in the middle of the song.
* PerkyGoth: Jennifer Parkin herself.
* SelfBackingVocalist: On quite a few of the songs. In concert though, Parkin's female keyboardist provides backup vocals.
* TheSomethingSong: "The Gun Song"
* SynthPop
