TWRP, formerly known as Tupper Ware Remix Party[[note]]The name change reportedly occurred because of "extremely cool legal reasons"[[/note]], is a Canadian band currently based in Toronto and originated in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The band is comprised of four members: keyboardist/vocalist Doctor Sung, guitarist Lord Phobos, bassist Commander Meouch, and drummer Havve Hogan. They notably always perform in full costume, keep their faces and real names unknown, and have created a fictional history for their band.

They specialize in '80s/'90s-inspired synth/rock/funk jams, sometimes instrumental, but sometimes with deliciously cheesy lyrics, and are often seen rocking with other groups such as Music/NinjaSexParty, Music/TheProtomen, and Music/{{Starbomb}}. They are particularly known for their collaborations with NSP, having become their opening act and backing band both live and in studio starting in 2015, additionally serving as the backing band on the third album from Starbomb, which contains the members of NSP.

Doctor Sung is TWRP’s frontman and the operator of the keytar and talkbox. He’s dressed in primarily yellow, with black stripes, has a light on his chest, and a cone on his head. Legend has it he was born at the big bang and was orphaned in the ice age. Billions of years later he realized his true calling: to rescue people from boredom with sick rock jams.

!!Doctor Sung contains examples of the following tropes:

* AmusingAlien: Doctor Sung isn’t quite human, and he does anything really for the giggles of TWRP’s human audience - he’s not accustomed to the Earth way of these years, give him a break.
* BlueAndOrangeMorality: He is a NiceGuy, but since his goal in life is to prevent boredom, he'll happily team up with KillerRobot Havve Hogan if it means having a great drummer.
* CoolMask: At least his mouth is visible under the orange-road-cone-visor helmet he wears. Which is a good thing, because he'd have a hard time singing if his mouth was covered.
* FunPersonified: Part and parcel of being the frontman of a band like TWRP. His high kicks, frequent hammy persona, and ability to work a crowd make him quite entertaining.
* ICallItVera: Doctor Sung’s keytar is affectionately known as Fuckthrust. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=egWxm6Uxayg Poor thing ended up tossed across the stage at MAGfest 2016 during a routine cool move.]] She made a full recovery.
* LargeHam: Doctor Sung is charismatic and loved by all. He introduces his fellow bandmates while onstage and his antics involve [[http://chelseybrookie.tumblr.com/post/140869886966 full-on exercise]].
* OneWayVisor: His visor acts as a pair of sunglasses to him, but prevents anyone else from seeing his face.
* RoboSpeak: Almost all of Doctor Sung's singing is done with a robotic talkbox filter to his voice, even in concert.
* SignatureMove: His ''HIGH KICKS''!
* VocalEvolution: His talkbox filter has become less distorted over the years, sounding clearer to match the brighter sound the band gradually adopted, though it can still sound harsh in select tunes. Compare his voice in [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X3rp-h69aTk "Computer Wife"]] to [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8AFmTwwZOjU "Bright Blue Sky"]].

With a pretty sick gold helmet and gold armor on his primarily red suit, Lord Phobos is TWRP’s rad shred guitarist.

!! Lord Phobos may contain the following tropes:

* CoolMask: One that looks like a gas mask, at that.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: Lord Phobos's world was launched into chaos due to Commander Meouch's smuggled funk.
* OneWayVisor: On his helmet, so he can see you, but you can't see his eyes.
* SilenceIsGolden: And with his helmet? Quite literally ''golden''.
* SuperiorSpecies: [[http://www.scope-mag.com/2015/08/tupper-ware-remix-partys-epic-quest-to-annihilate-boredom "Phobos’s people evolved over many millennia, their culture reaching a universal high-water mark of scientific and intellectual discovery."]]
* TheVoiceless: While Havve is mute, Lord Phobos is a [[http://www.scope-mag.com/2015/08/tupper-ware-remix-partys-epic-quest-to-annihilate-boredom "wise and gentle soul who swore a sacred vow of silence long ago"]].

Havve Hogan is TWRP’s amazing drummer. He has giant chompers, glowing red eyes, and a black and white motif for his outfit. He also sports shoulder spikes.

!!Havve Hogan may contain the following tropes:

* AlliterativeName: '''H'''avve '''H'''ogan
* AxCrazy: Havve is a mute robot with a penchant for killing.
* GlowingEyesOfDoom: Havve has glowing red eyes.
* KillerRobot: To the point that TWRP's Twitter account congratulated him for not killing anyone during a practice set.
* TheVoiceless: Havve is mute.

TWRP’s world-class slap bassist. Commander Meouch rocks an outfit of primarily blue (with a long-ass loincloth), and has a humanoid body with the head of a lion.

!!Commander Meouch may contain the following tropes:

* CatFolk: Self-explanatory
* ADogNamedDog: Obviously the band member with a lion head is known as ''Meouch''.
* Main/{{Expy}}: Commander Meouch was [[http://www.scope-mag.com/2015/08/tupper-ware-remix-partys-epic-quest-to-annihilate-boredom/ "was born in the more provincial reaches of the galaxy and made his fortune smuggling funk (apparently a controlled quantity in the future) to star systems that had been historically square."]] "[[{{Franchise/StarWars}} Sound familiar?]]"
* FurryConfusion: In ''The Hit'', he is seen trying (and failing) to teach actual lions how to play bass.
* LeadBassist: Types A, C, D.
* LovableRogue: Meouch is a smuggler and a lady-killer but there's just something so charming about the guy.
* PantheraAwesome: A ''humanoid lion'' who can play the bass like ''no other''.
* TheCasanova: A self-described “slutty space kitty” with a healthy appetite for the Earth women.
** During the Music/NinjaSexParty European tour 2019, where they were one of the pre-shows, Commander Meowch dedicated each and every single one of the songs they played that night "To the ladies!"
--> "[[RunningGag Song numbers #52 to #64 went out to all the ladies here, tonight!]]"
* YouSexyBeast: He's an anthropomorphic lion with a human woman fetish.

----
!! The band as a whole provide the following tropes:
* AnimatedMusicVideo: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uOWWaRbZucE "The Hit"]] featuring ''Music/NinjaSexParty'' was animated by the amazing [[http://lazerhorse.tumblr.com Lazerhorse]]. Now including the anime inspired [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J9Q3i5w6-Ug "Starlight Brigade"]] video.
* AnonymousBand: TWRP hasn't shown their faces to the general public over the nine years they've been a band. [[https://66.media.tumblr.com/46c5fffb16887794aca65d83cf17f8e9/tumblr_inline_oa52njUdYr1sxd96o_540.jpg And, ideally, would like to keep it that way for now.]]
* ColourCodedForYourConvenience: Doctor Sung wears yellow, Commander Meouch wears blue, Havve Hogan wears black and white, and Lord Phobos wears red and gold.
* ExpansionPackPast: TWRP has a colourful backstory. The TWRP lore has changed so much that oftentimes people can’t keep up with it. What is widely accepted as the current lore can be found [[http://www.scope-mag.com/2015/08/tupper-ware-remix-partys-epic-quest-to-annihilate-boredom here]].
* FunWithAcronyms: TWRP, pronounced "Twerp".
* AGoodNameForARockBand: Tupper Ware Remix Party was named when a member said those words in that particular order. It stuck, obviously.
* MindScrew: Their collective backstory. They're from the 1980s and the future at the same time. And, they're also from space, and Toronto Canada. [[ShapedLikeItself Which is in space]]. It doesn't help that said backstory keeps changing.
* ThePowerOfRock: TWRP’s whole philosophy is making the world a little less boring with their music and MAKING LOVERS OUT OF HATERS.
* Really700YearsOld: Doctor Sung was born at the big bang, Havve Hogan is from around the Mesozoic era, and Commander Meouch and Lord Phobos are from a “distant and complicated future”.
* RobotOrSpacemanAlterEgo: [=TWRP=] consists of an alien spaceman from the Big Bang as frontman and keytarist, a gold-plated spaceman lead guitarist, a PantheraAwesome alien bassist, and a KillerRobot drummer.
* RunningGag
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EnClnXLAK0c ARE YOU THINKING ABOUT JAPAN?]]
** "Song number [[spoiler: 69]]" routine
** "This song goes out to all the ladies out there tonight!"[[note]]Except for only three songs: [[spoiler: ''Pale Blue Dot'' which goes out to [[MotherNature ''one'' lady]], ''Body Image'', which goes out to everyone in the crowd, and ''Pets'', which goes out to all the animals including Doctor Sung's late cat Dangus.]][[/note]]

!! The band's music provide the following tropes:
* AlbumIntroTrack: Nearly all of their [=EPs=] and albums have one.
* AlbumTitleDrop: "Superior Moves" in ''New & Improved'' says the album title several times, much more often than the song title itself.
* AudienceParticipationSong: For "Rock N Roll Best Friends" (''Guardians Of The Zone''), the band has the audience sing a couple notes in the chorus.
* BadassBoast:
** Pretty much all of "Atomic Karate" from the ''Ladyworld'' album. Doctor Sung claims to be able to "split the atom with a high kick," make bad guys' [[YourHeadAsplode heads explode just by looking at them]], and release a trillion newtons on spinning his nunchakus.
** Near the end of "Starlight Brigade": "Black knights and darkside battlecries all die once they're in my line of sight!".
* BigDamnHeroes: In "The Hit," TWRP save Danny Sexbang from being killed by assassins.
** In the video for "Synthesize Her", Doctor Sung repairs and upgrades the homemade synthesizer of the video's protagonist, after it's sabotaged by a bully before her act in the school variety show.
* ConceptAlbum: ''Return to Wherever'' plays out as if you are listening to a radio station, with a DJ chiming in every few songs.
* CoverAlbum: Ninja Sex Party and TWRP collaborated for the 2016 release of ''[[https://itunes.apple.com/ca/album/under-the-covers/id1080906228 Under the Covers]]'', and for the 2017 release of ''Under the Covers II''. The band also shows up in several of NSP's music videos, such as their covers for "Pour Some Sugar on Me", "Land Down Under", and "Africa".
* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness: Their first EP ''The Device'' has a much darker feel than the fun-loving positive vibes given off in their later albums. Of note is Doctor Sung's talk box sounding more distorted than in any future releases.
* EarthSong: "R.E.S.P.E.C.T. Her (Earth Day special)" is an uplifting song addressing the Earth itself as a nurturing mother who, while under-appreciated, it worth fostering and protecting, the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZvMfIF8PFw music video]] primarily made up of footage of the various biomes on its surface.
* FadingIntoTheNextSong: Their first official EP ''The Device'' utilizes this with nearly the entire EP - you can’t listen to just one song, you have to listen to them all. Also utilized in ''Ladyworld''.
* FollowYourHeart: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bzKd1AofP2M "Believe In Your Dreams"]] from the album it shares its title with is incredibly inspiring.
* FriendshipSong: "Rock N Roll Best Friends" is all about how the band members are the best of friends.
* HeroVsVillainDuet: "Black Swan" (''Over the Top'') tells the tale of a retired bounty hunter squaring off against a deadly assassin, with Danny Sexbang and Doctor Sung performing as the hero and villain, respectively.
* IAmSong: "Groove Crusaders" off ''Guardians Of The Zone'' is what a theme song for the band would sound like if it were an '80s Saturday morning cartoon.
* IntercourseWithYou: "The No Pants Dance", featuring (of course) Ninja Sex Party.
* LimitedLyricsSong:
** "Japanquest" (''2nite'') features cutting-edge lyrics like "Disco!", and "Business Tips" (''Guardians Of The Zone'') has about four lines of what the aliens think are viable business tips for humans.
** "Comin 'atcha" in ''Over the Top'' has Doctor Sung sing that TWRP is doing just that and nothing else.
* LocationSong: "Baby, NYC" featuring Ninja Sex Party (''Believe In Your Dreams'') is a love letter to the city.
* LoopedLyrics: The first version of "The No Pants Dance" (''The Device'') has about two stanzas it repeats. They just like the way that you dance when you dance like the way that you dance when you dance with your pants off.
* LyricalDissonance: "Phantom Racer" is a very upbeat and exciting tune about a seemingly-dead driver murdering every racer on a course out of revenge.
* NonAppearingTitle: The lyrics for "The Hit" never mention anything about assassins or a hit being put on Danny Sexbang. It's all shown in the music video instead.
* OldShame: They consider their first album, ''Poised to Dominate'', to be a drastic departure from their current image, such that the album has been pulled from stores.
* ParentalLoveSong: Child to Parent example - "Only the Best" (''Over the Top'') has Doctor Sung singing about the love and life lessons he received from his mom and how he wants to make the world a better place because of it.
* RearrangeTheSong: "The No Pants Dance" was originally on ''The Device'' and was rereleased on ''Guardians Of The Zone'' featuring Ninja Sex Party with some rearranging to the music and the addition of more lyrics sung by Danny Sexbang.
* Main/{{Scatting}}: The breakdown in "Rock N Roll Best Friends".
* ShoutOut:
** "Pale Blue Dot" features a sample of Creator/{{Carl Sagan}}'s famous "pale blue dot" speech from ''Series/{{Cosmos}}''.
** "Prismatic Core" features the memetic line [[VideoGame/Starcraft2 "You must construct additional pylons.]].
* SingerNamedrop: The end of "Need Each Other" in ''Over The Top'' contains a guest singer from Planet Booty declaring his love for each of the band members.
* SomethingSomethingLeonardBernstein: Sometimes Doctor Sung's lyrics are a bit hard to understand at first through the talkbox. ''We're groove crusaders makin' lovers elevators...''
* SomewhereSong: "Somewhere Out There" in ''Over The Top'' embodies this trope, [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin in case the title didn't give it away.]]
* TitleTrack: "The Device", "Believe In Your Dreams", and "Ladyworld" each share the names with their [=EPs=].
* TrainingMontage: "Food Bar," which has a music video all about a nerdy guy trying to bulk up.
* WanderlustSong: "Maximum Thrust" (''Together Through Time'') is about the band's endless curiosity to explore all of space and time. It even includes the word itself in the lyrics.
