->"Despite the explicit marketing tie-in ("From the studio that brought you Shrek"), both [Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas and Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron] are traditional hand-drawn cel animation with nothing to connect them to Shrek in look or in spirit."

When a creator is maybe not prominent enough to carry a title on their own, but their work is popular [=and/or=] widely loved enough to mean something, the promoters of their latest project will highlight their track record to sell this new thing to people. Sometimes it does give the audience some clues as to what they might expect -- a signature line, a CreatorCameo, other tropes said creator is known to utilize. Exceedingly common in literature, with the cover frequently advertising something akin to "from the New York Times bestselling author of Insert Book Here." Other common promotions include "by the bestselling author of the book that was made into a successful movie" or even "by the author of the bestselling franchise, of which this book is the next installment".

Can lead to DirectorDisplacement in films and television when the "creator" is a producer -- as this name immediately becomes associated with the work, people not bothered to look any further than promotional material will only know them as the creator of it and perpetuate both the displacement and the future of works being promoted by their name as they become more spoken of.

This form of advertising can take many forms:
* From the writer/director/creator of...
* From the studio that brought you...
* From the producer of... - Some people take this as a sign that they had nothing else to sell the audience on than "the guy who said Yes to this film also said Yes to this other film".
* From the Award Winning creator of... - For when they really want to highlight the creator's prestige.
* From the maker/s of... - They did something important on that film, had a little involvement with this one.

Compare BilledAboveTheTitle (where the Creators Creator's name is displayed more prominently than the title of the work), HeAlsoDid (for when the work is incredibly out of genre for the Creator, but it isn't necessarily advertised), ProductPlacement (where products are advertised by their inclusion in a work), InCaseYouForgotWhoWroteIt (where the Creator's name is part of the title or Tagline) and PreviewPiggybacking (where a work advertises an included preview for a much more anticipated work). 30!!Straight Examples:

* Creator/Funimation uses the "from the studio" variant in quite a few of its trailers, which is odd as it merely licenses and translates released works from a variety of companies.
** They marketed Manga/Toriko as being "from the studio that brought you Anime/DragonBallZ and Manga/OnePiece". All three are action series adapted from Magazine/ShonenJump manga, and have had non-canon Crossover crossovers with each other in manga and anime format.
* Creator/FourKidsEntertainment did something similar while it was running, primarily using Anime/PokemonTheSeries and Anime/YuGiOh.
* The newest release of Anime/RevolutionaryGirlUtena announces on the box that it's from one of the creators of Anime/SailorMoon: Creator/KunihikoIkuhara.
* Anime/LittleNemoAdventuresInSlumberland combines this with CoversAlwaysLie: The American poster boasted, "From the director of Film/HomeAlone and the director of WesternAnimation/Fantasia," referring to co-screenwriter Creator/ChrisColumbus and either Frank Thomas or Ollie Johnston, both of whom advised the animators. None of them directed Little Nemo, or Fantasia for that matter.

* ComicBook/KullTheConqueror1971: The comic was originally billed as "From the creator of Franchise/theBarbarian!" on its covers. Creator/RobertEHoward had been dead for thirty years and had nothing to do with the adaptation of his Kull stories, though.
* ComicBook/TheUltimates: In-universe, Nick Fury hired Stark for the Ultimates for his incredible Iron Man armor, but also because of his huge popularity, and how some of it could be borrowed by the Ultimates initiative.

* David Kirschner
** Advertisements for the film WesternAnimation/OnceUponAForest said it was "from the creator of WesternAnimation/AnAmericanTail". This was possibly done to mislead people into thinking it was a Creator/DonBluth film, which it wasn't; David Kirschner produced both films (and came up with the initial idea for An American Tail).
** Some of the trailers for WesternAnimation/ThePagemaster also said "From the creator of WesternAnimation/AnAmericanTail" at the beginning. It was also produced by Kirschner.
* Most films from producer John H. Williams' animation studio, Creator/VanguardAnimation, such as WesternAnimation/Valiant, WesternAnimation/HappilyNEverAfter and WesternAnimation/SpaceChimps, have been marketed as being "from the producers of WesternAnimation/Shrek".
* WesternAnimation/Coraline pulled the bait-and-switch version, with advertisements announcing it was "from the director of Tim Burton's WesternAnimation/TheNightmareBeforeChristmas", naturally leading many people to believe that the movie was by Creator/TimBurton. Actually, it's Henry Selick who directed both movies, and Burton (the producer of The Nightmare Before Christmas) had no involvement in Coraline.
* Trailers for WesternAnimation/CorpseBride emphasized that it was by Creator/TimBurton, sometimes to the point of saying little about the film beyond that it existed.
* Creator/DreamWorksAnimation movies are often advertised this way, referencing previous [=DreamWorks=] All CGI Cartoons, Franchise/Shrek being usually one of them.
* Ads for Creator/Pixar movies use the "From the studio that brought you..." version of this trope. It's typically WesternAnimation/ToyStory1 (their first feature-length movie) and their most recent successful movie they put on the poster.
** The official trailer for WesternAnimation/TurningRed uses WesternAnimation/InsideOut and WesternAnimation/TheIncredibles1 which is appropriate since it deals with emotions and the giant red panda transformation is essentially a superpower.
* Creator/WaltDisneyAnimationStudios often plays up their brand in lieu of specific film association, by putting random movie clips in their trailers. WesternAnimation/Pinocchio began Disney's habit of association in the trailers ("Now, Creator/WaltDisney brings you his first and only full-length feature since WesternAnimation/and the Seven Dwarfs."), and WesternAnimation/Cinderella was their first film to begin associating specific movies in its posters ("Greatest since Snow White"). Starting at UsefulNotes/TheRenaissanceAgeOfAnimation, Disney also sometimes promotes their movies as coming "from the creators of [insert something else with the same directors]," or, for some musicals, by name-dropping another hit with at least one of the same songwriters (For instance, WesternAnimation/BeautyAndTheBeast and WesternAnimation/Aladdin both received trailers announcing, "Featuring six new songs from the UsefulNotes/AcademyAward-winning composer of WesternAnimation/1989!").
* Played for laughs in the first trailer for WesternAnimation/TheLEGOBatmanMovie, where the trailer lists every live-action Franchise/Batman movie ever made (by Creator/WarnerBros, anyway)... and WesternAnimation/TheLegoMovie.
* Adverts for WesternAnimation/ChickenRun said it was "from the creators of WesternAnimation/WallaceAndGromit".
* The posters and trailers for the Animation/HappyHeroes movies have a tendency to advertise them as being from the same person who created Animation/PleasantGoatAndBigBigWolf.
* One 2002 VHS commercial for WesternAnimation/BarbieAsRapunzel first advertises the success of the previous DirectToVideo Franchise/Barbie film, WesternAnimation/BarbieInTheNutcracker before hyping up Barbie as Rapunzel, and offers a special deal to get the two bundled together.
* For WesternAnimation/TheNightmareBeforeChristmas, early previews began by recounting Disney's "tradition of innovation" in animation -- with help from excerpts of WesternAnimation/SnowWhiteAndTheSevenDwarfs, WesternAnimation/OneHundredAndOneDalmatians, Film/WhoFramedRogerRabbit, and WesternAnimation/BeautyAndTheBeast -- before announcing that the studio had collaborated with "Creator/TimBurton, the creative genius behind Film/1989, Film/Beetlejuice, and Film/EdwardScissorhands" to produce a similarly-large achievement for stop-motion.
* When WesternAnimation/TheMagicRoundabout2005 was retooled for American audiences as Doogal, a trailer promoted it as "From the creator of WesternAnimation/TheFairlyOddParents". Creator/ButchHartman did contribute to the script rewrites, but very little of his script made the final cut, and any other resemblance to his work in the film is coincidental at best.

* Creator/EdgarWright
** Film/Sightseers is "From the makers of Film/HotFuzz, Film/Paul & Film/ShaunOfTheDead". Of course, Wright only Producers produced this film, not wrote and directed it. Note that Film/TheWorldsEnd isn't on that list because, though complete, it hadn't been released yet and that Film/ScottPilgrimVsTheWorld isn't because the film was targeted at British audiences, the genre of the film is much more like the Film/ThreeFlavoursCornettoTrilogy, RuleOfThree, and the marketing department may have wanted to noncommittally suggest that Creator/SimonPegg and Nick Frost would be in it.
** The DVD case of Film/ScottPilgrimVsTheWorld also reminds you that it's "".
* The tagline poster for Film/Mama says that it's "Presented by Creator/GuillermoDelToro, Creator of Film/PansLabyrinth". What they mean by that is that del Toro is only the Executive Producer.
* Advertisements for Film/TheInterview said it was "From the Western capitalist pigs who brought you Film/2014 and Film/ThisIsTheEnd".
* Creator/JohnLandis. The poster for Film/AnAmericanWerewolfInLondon proclaimed "From the director of Film/AnimalHouse...A different kind of animal."
* Film/Battleship was proudly declared as coming "From , the company that brought you Film/2007", despite both films actually being made by separate studios. Hasbro's film division at the time just developed the concepts for other studios. Also, they didn't create the original Battleship game, they just bought out the owners.
* When the movie remake of Land of the Lost came out in 2009, Universal Studios released the 1970 movie adaptation of Series/HRPufnstuf, on DVD, which contained a blurb on top of the front cover stating, "From the Producers of Land of the Lost" (Even though Sid & Marty Krofft completely created both series).
* Franchise/PiratesOfTheCaribbean
** The reboot of Film/TheLoneRanger had trailers boasting that it was from producers Creator/JerryBruckheimer and Creator/GoreVerbinski, the people behind Franchise/PiratesOfTheCaribbean. But instead of stating that outright, they just show the Pirates logo.
** Trailers for Film/KingArthur2004 said "From Creator/JerryBruckheimer, the producer of Franchise/PiratesOfTheCaribbean".
* The 2015 Film/2015 film's trailer and poster promote "From the studio that brought you Film/XMenDaysOfFuturePast", though oddly not emphasizing that they shared a writer and producer (Simon Kinberg).
** Film/Deadpool2 was advertised as being "From the studio that killed Wolverine."
* Franchise/MarvelCinematicUniverse:
** Prior to the release of Film/2012, Creator/MarvelStudios was mainly known as "the studio that made Film/IronMan1", a connection they very much played up in the marketing for Film/Thor and Film/CaptainAmericaTheFirstAvenger. Commercials for the former film featured the bit where S.H.I.E.L.D. agents mistake the Destroyer for a Stark Industries weapon, and commercials for the latter played up Howard Stark's role in the creation of Captain America, with Dr. Erskine's "Now, Mr. Stark!" line featured prominently.
** After the release of The Avengers in 2012 it became common for Marvel movies to play up the connection with that movie, particularity in commercials for origin films like Film/GuardiansOfTheGalaxy2014 and Film/AntMan1 (with the latter film name dropping the team in the trailers). It wasn't until Film/DoctorStrange2016 that the films started playing up the franchise as a whole in marketing as opposed to any individual past film.
* The 2015 film Film/JemAndTheHolograms2015 says in the trailer that it's "From the studioActing here solely as distributor that brought you Film/PitchPerfect and the director of Never Say Never."
* Film/TopSecret is "From the makers of the original Film/Airplane", followed by a footnote stating "(Not the Wright Brothers)".
* The DVD cases of both Film/Django and Film/TheIngloriousBastards -- the originals from the 1960s -- have the directors' names (Sergio Corbucci and Enzo Castellari, respectively) in tiny font, but say "The film that inspired Creator/QuentinTarantino" for Film/DjangoUnchained and Film/InglouriousBasterds respectively in massive letters.
* Film/TheMinistryOfUngentlemanlyWarfare: The release poster mentions "From the director of Film/2009 and the producer of Film/TopGunMaverick".
* Film/TheOogielovesInTheBigBalloonAdventure had the possibly-unique "from the marketing visionary who brought you Series/Teletubbies". The movie currently holds the record for worst box office returns for a widely released movie.
* The first trailer for Film/ANewHope said "20th Century Fox and Creator/GeorgeLucas, the man who brought you Film/AmericanGraffiti now bring you...
* Blumhouse movies also advertise the movie as their produced work, such as:
** Film/TruthOrDare2018, Film/UnfriendedDarkWeb: "From the producer of Film/GetOut2017, Film/ThePurge and Film/HappyDeathDay."
** Film/Ma: "From Blumhouse, the producer of Film/GetOut2017, Film/TheVisit & Film/HappyDeathDay."
** Film/BlackChristmas2019, Film/FantasyIsland2020: "From the producer of Film/GetOut2017 and Film/Halloween2018."
** Film/TheCraftLegacy: "From the producer of Film/TheInvisibleMan2020 and Film/Split."
** Film/RunSweetheartRun: "From the producer of Film/ThePurge, Film/TheInvisibleMan2020, and Film/Ma."
* The trailer and poster for Film/TheDarkestMinds advertise the film as being from the producers of Series/StrangerThings and Film/Arrival.
* Trailers for Film/MortalEngines advertise the film as being from the filmmakers of Film/TheLordOfTheRings and Film/TheHobbit.
* Film/Mallrats: "What else did you expect from the director of Film/Clerks?"
* Film/Beetlejuice: "From the director of Film/PeeWeesBigAdventure..."
* Creator/DavidCronenberg examples (note that his films often have used InCaseYouForgotWhoWroteIt in promotional campaigns from Dead Ringers onwards) include:
** Film/Videodrome was promoted as "A shocking new vision from the creator of Film/Scanners".
** Film/DeadRingerss promotional campaign played with this in that it positioned the film as the SpiritualAntithesis of Cronenberg's Film/TheFly1986 (since it's more PsychologicalThriller than BodyHorror). For instance, the trailer features the narration "From David Cronenberg, who in The Fly made the fantastic real...now, David Cronenberg makes reality the ultimate fantasy." It also RecycledTrailerMusic from the previous film.
** Film/ADangerousMethods poster referenced Film/AHistoryOfViolence and Film/EasternPromises, both of which also starred Creator/ViggoMortensen.
* Film/ArmyOfTheDead: The trailer has "From Creator/ZackSnyder - Director of Film/ThreeHundred, Film/ManOfSteel and Film/2004".
* Film/Reminiscence is advertised as "From the co-creator of Series/Westworld".
* Film/Peninsula is known in some territories as Film/TrainToBusan Presents: Peninsula.
* The British DVD of the gross-out horror film Film/Braindead has "From the Director of Lord of the Rings Creator/PETER JACKSON" at the top of the cover. Braindead is very much by Jackson, but it was also made before he hit the big time.
* Film/BulletTrain - “From the director of Film/Deadpool2.” That director being David Leitch, of course.
** Also he acted as producer at Film/ViolentNight trailer: "From the producer of Film/Nobody and Film/BulletTrain.
* The trailer for Film/Men mentions that director/writer Creator/AlexGarland also directed Film/ExMachina and Film/Annihilation2018.
* One trailer for the 1949 rerelease of Film/TheWizardOfOz boasts, "Produced by the producer of Film/1933" and "Directed by the director of Film/GoneWithTheWind".
* Film/DontBreathe2: "From producer Fede Alverez, director of Film/EvilDead2013 and Film/DontBreathe."
* Film/TheGuilty2021: "From Creator/AntoineFuqua, director of Film/TrainingDay and Film/TheEqualizer, and Nic Pizzolatto, writer of Series/TrueDetective."
* Film/Barbarian: "From a producer of Film/It2017 and the executive producer of Film/TheGrudge and Literature/TheRing."
* Film/M3gan: "From Creator/JamesWan, producer of Film/Annabelle, and Blumhouse, producer of Film/TheBlackPhone."
* Film/Labyrinth: "Creator/TriStarPictures announces the collaboration of three extraordinary talents: Creator/JimHenson, creator of Franchise/TheMuppets and Dark Crystal, Creator/GeorgeLucas, creator of the Franchise/StarWars saga, and one of the most innovative forces in modern entertainment, Music/DavidBowie."
* "Film/ChittyChittyBangBang is an Creator/IanFleming story, born as Bond was making screen history."
* Film/TheApartment advertisements boasted that it shares a director with Film/SomeLikeItHot, Creator/BillyWilder.They also share two writers, Wilder and I.A.L. Diamond, and a lead actor, Creator/JackLemmon.
* Film/TheGoreGoreGirls: The poster says "Special effects by the same perverted madmen who brought you Film/BloodFeast -- Film/TwoThousandManiacs -- The Gruesome Twosome "
* The Film/RaidersOfTheLostArk teaser and TV spots name-drop some hits that Creator/StevenSpielberg and Creator/GeorgeLucas individually directed or wrote, such as Film/Jaws and Star Wars.
* Film/GreatestDays was advertised as "From the writer of Film/CalendarGirls".
* Film/MaryPoppins: The teaser for the world premiere at Grauman's Chinese Theater has Creator/WaltDisney and theater manager Bob Selig wax nostalgia for the WesternAnimation/Fantasia roadshow run, before Selig declares that Mary Poppins has topped it as Walt's best movie.
* The trailer for 2023's Film/2023 mentions "From Creator/RidleyScott, the acclaimed director of Film/Alien, Film/BladeRunner, Film/Gladiator, Film/BlackHawkDown, Film/AmericanGangster, Film/TheMartian".
* Advertising for Film/WomenTalking boasted the film being "from the producers of Film/2016 and Film/Nomadland", respectively referring to Plan B Entertainment (Creator/BradPitt, Dede Gardner, and Jeremy Kleiner) and the film's costar Creator/FrancesMcDormand.
* Film/StateFair: Advertisements for the musical retellings name-drop Creator/RodgersAndHammerstein's biggest Broadway hits: Theatre/Oklahoma and Theatre/Carousel in 1945, and Oklahoma!, Theatre/TheKingAndI, Theatre/SouthPacific, and Theatre/TheSoundOfMusic in 1962.
* The original ads for Film/PlanetOfTheApes1968 advertised it as being "from the pen of Pierre Boulle, author of Film/TheBridgeOnTheRiverKwai". This was pretty unusual considering how different the film was from Boulle’s original novel.

!!Authors whose other works are advertised:

* Creator/IsaacAsimov:
** Literature/TheBicentennialManAndOtherStories: The publication points out that Dr Asimov is also the author of bestselling book Literature/TheRobotsOfDawn.
** Literature/EarthIsRoomEnough: One of the taglines for the 1960 Panther cover references Literature/TheCurrentsOfSpace and Literature/TheCavesOfSteel.
--->"Starkly realistic stories by the author of 'The Currents of Space' and 'The Caves of Steel'"
** Literature/Foundation1951: The 1960 Creator/Panther edition points out that Dr Asimov also wrote Literature/TheNakedSun.
** Literature/NineTomorrows: The Creator/DelRey cover from 1985 includes a Tagline pointing out that Dr Asimov is also the author of the national bestseller Literature/FoundationsEdge.
** "Literature/TheSecretSense" was published in Magazine/CosmicStories referencing "Literature/HomoSol" and "" as previous stories by Dr Asimov.
** "Literature/TheUglyLittleBoy": For the DoubleSidedBook, the Tagline also credits Dr Asimov as the author of Literature/PreludeToFoundation, which he had first published the year before.
* Creator/JanetAsimov's Literature/MindTransfer: Beneath the author's name, the cover points out that she is the co-author of Literature/TheNorbyChronicles and Literature/NorbyRobotForHire.
* Creator/IsaacAsimov and Creator/JanetAsimov's Literature/TheNorbyChronicles:
** The cover of the first Omnibus edition, The Norby Chronicles, mentions that Dr Asimov is also the author of Literature/TheRobotsOfDawn.
** The cover of the second Omnibus edition, Norby, Robot for Hire, mentions that Dr Asimov is also the author of Literature/RobotsAndEmpire.
** The cover of the third Omnibus edition, Norby Through Time and Space, mentions that Dr Asimov is also the author of Literature/PreludeToFoundation.
** The back cover of all three Omnibuses mention that Creator/JanetAsimov wrote Literature/TheSecondExperiment and Literature/TheLastImmortal while Creator/IsaacAsimov wrote Literature/TheRobotsOfDawn and Literature/FoundationsEdge.
* Creator/TerryBrooks: The novelization of proudly advertised on the top of the cover, "From the Bestselling Author of The Druid of Shannara". The first printing even had the Druid title in BOLD ALL-CAPS and almost as large as the actual Hook title; subsequent printings shrunk the blurb down to just the top edge of the cover.
* Creator/JohnLChapman's "Literature/CrystalWorlds" was published in Magazine/CosmicStories referencing "Literature/LunarGun" and "Literature/AnothersEyes", previous works by Chapman.
* Creator/CecilCorwin: "Literature/TheReversibleRevolutions" was published in Magazine/CosmicStories referencing "Thirteen O'Clock" and "The Fly-By-Nights", previous works by Corwin. %%"The Fly-By-Nights" story appears to not exist.

* Creator/SDGottesman: "Literature/ReturnFromM15" was published in Magazine/CosmicStories referencing "Literature/DeadCenter" and "Literature/NovaMidplane", previous works by Gottesman.
* Creator/SydHoff: Literature/SammyTheSeal contains the line "by the author of Literature/DannyAndTheDinosaur" on the bottom of the cover.
* Creator/ErinHunter: The three series Seekers, Survivors, and Literature/Bravelands are advertised as "From the author of the #1 nationally bestselling Warriors series" right on the covers. For Survivors, fans consider this rather misleading: while Warriors and Seekers have shared the same group of writers and editors under the pen name Hunter for a decade, Survivors has an entirely new team and isn't connected to any of the people responsible for the other two series.
* Creator/ELJames: Literature/TheMister, her first non-Fifty Shades novel, was marketed as being from "the author of Literature/FiftyShadesOfGrey", which is also mentioned on the cover.
* Creator/CliftonBKruse: "Literature/PlanetLeave" was published in Magazine/CosmicStories referencing "Literature/TheIncredibleVisitor" and "The Battle of Chang-Da", previous works by Kruse. %%"The Heat Destroyers" is misnamed, possibly a WorkingTitle.
* Creator/RobertWLowndes: "Literature/TheMartiansAreComing" was published in Magazine/CosmicStories referencing "Literature/AGreenCloudCame" and "Literature/TheAbyss", previous works by Lowndes.
* Creator/JohnNorman:
** Literature/GhostDance: The cover's tagline labels Norman as "Author of the Gorean Saga".
** :
*** Blood Brothers of Gor: The 1982 cover by Creator/DAWBooks includes the tagline of "The Eighteenth book in the Tarl Cabot Saga".
*** The 2010 covers for this series contain "Gorean Saga * Book #" as the first line for every sequel.
** Literature/TimeSlave: The cover contains a tagline saying, "New for fans", despite the fact that this book has nothing to do with the Gorean Saga.
* Creator/HughRaymond: "Literature/TheLastViking" was published in Magazine/CosmicStories referencing "He Wasn't There" and "The Vanguard", previous works by Raymond. %%"The Vanguard" appears to not exist.
* Creator/FredSaberhagen wrote the Novelization of the film Film/BramStokersDracula. He offered to also write the novelization of Film/MaryShelleysFrankenstein just so the cover could say "Mary Shelley's Frankenstein: by the author of Bram Stoker's Dracula."
* Creator/BasilWells's "" was published in Magazine/CosmicStories referencing "Literature/RebirthOfMan" and "Winged Warriors", previous works by Wells. %%"Winged Warriors" appears to not exist.
* Creator/DonaldAWollheim: "Literature/TheManFromTheFuture" was published in Magazine/CosmicStories referencing "Literature/PlanetOfIllusion" and "", previous works by Wollheim.
* The first Corgi paperback covers of Creator/TerryPratchett's early sf novels Literature/Strata and Literature/TheDarkSideOfTheSun advertised "Unparalleled science fiction from the author of the Literature/Discworld novels". Later cover designs with the same artwork don't, Terry's success having reached the point where few people familiar with Discworld would need reminded who he was.
* Creator/JohnSwartzwelder's self-published novels all have "By the Writer of 59 Episodes of WesternAnimation/TheSimpsons" on the front of them.

* Literature/MastersOfHorrorAndTheSupernaturalTheGreatTales: Creator/StephenKing, one of the biggest names in the Horror genre, wrote the introduction, and this gets advertised on every front cover.
* Literature/ScienceFictionVerhalen: One of covers for volume 4, containing stories by Creator/JohnWyndham, has a tagline that references Wyndham's other stories, such as Literature/TheChrysalids, Literature/TheDayOfTheTriffids, Literature/TheMidwichCuckoos, , and Literature/TheKrakenWakes.

* Creator/FOX's summer 2015 game show Series/Boom is being advertised as "from the creators of Series/2008."
* Creator/RyanMurphy's Series/2015 is "from the creators of Series/Glee and Series/AmericanHorrorStory." All three do share the same crew, nearly in its entirety, as well as a mix of the casts of both shows.
* Series/Oobi was advertised as featuring "furless" Muppets due to its vast amount of connections to Series/SesameStreet.
* Early promos for Creator/TheWB's Series/UnhappilyEverAfter said that "The creator of Series/MarriedWithChildren picks up where marriage leaves off."
* Series/TheLastOfUs2023 trailer plays up the involvement of Creator/CraigMazin, who was responsible for the hit miniseries Series/Chernobyl. The website also associates co-developer Neil Druckmann with VideoGame/Uncharted and the original VideoGame/TheLastOfUs video games.

* News articles about I AM I's lead singer, ZP Theart, tend to introduce him as Music/DragonForces ex-singer.
* Recent no-man albums tend to include a sticker that says: "no-man are: steven wilson (porcupine tree) and tim bowness". Which is ironic considering that Wilson considers no-man his main project.

* Card games published by International Games Inc. and Mattel all have the inset "From the Makers of UNO" on the game's box. While most games are unrelated to TabletopGame/Uno, it does help distinguish SimilarlyNamedWorks, such as the game DOS (the official sequel to Uno) from DOS!: Twice the fun of UNO (a word and drawing card game).

* The packaging of the first wave of Toys/HeroFactory sets had a label boasting "From the makers of Toys/Bionicle!"
* Toys/TheGrosseryGang have labels on the top of their pegs with "From the makers of Toys/TheTrashPack!" on them. Before their official release, both The Trash Pack and Toys/Shopkins [=YouTube=] channels aired crossover promotions for The Grossery Gang.

* VideoGame/Back4Blood was advertised as being "from the creators of VideoGame/Left4Dead".
* The original Franchise/Digimon virtual pet toys had text on the packaging saying they're from the makers of Toys/Tamagotchi, which Digimon was developed as a SpearCounterpart to.
* VideoGame/Dizzy: The Ultimate Cartoon Adventure was originally promoted with this caption: "By the Oliver Twins, authors of Grand Prix Simulator!"
* VideoGame/DynastyWarss North American flyer proudly promotes it as "from the creators of VideoGame/GhostsNGoblins and VideoGame/BlackTiger".
* The trailer for VideoGame/HiFiRush makes a big deal of the fact that Tango Gameworks exclusively worked on horror games before it, presenting it as "from the makers of VideoGame/TheEvilWithin (seriously) and the makers of VideoGame/TheEvilWithin2 (naturally)."
* VideoGame/GhostStoryGames: The announcement trailer proclaims that the game is from the creator of VideoGame/Bioshock.
* The box to VideoGame/LittleDragonsCafe mentions that it was "created by Yasuhiro Wada, the imagination behind the original VideoGame/HarvestMoon game". Wada did create the first title in that series and he worked on the franchise until he split off during the DS era. In Little Dragons Cafes case, at least it is very much in the spirit of Harvest Moon (but without the dating element).
* VideoGame/LunarKnights was marketed in North America as being "From the creators of the Metal Gear Solid series" below a Creator/KojimaProductions logo at the upper-left corner of the cover art. Creator/HideoKojima did not actually direct the game, as he just served as the producer.
* The first teaser for VideoGame/MasterDetectiveArchivesRainCode, then originally named Enigma Archives: Rain Code, points out that the game is "brought to you by the creative team behind Franchise/Danganronpa".
* VideoGame/NinjaShadowOfDarkness is advertised as "from the creators of Franchise/TombRaider", that is Core Design (although the teams for each were mostly different).
* The American cover art for VideoGame/PuyoPuyoFevers [=GameCube=] port displays a symbol in the corner saying it's from the creators of Franchise/SonicTheHedgehog.
* VideoGame/Rage2011[='=]s box points out that it's "from the creators of VideoGame/Doom and VideoGame/Quake".
* The debut trailer for VideoGame/TheOuterWorlds points out that its a game from the creators of VideoGame/Fallout1 and 2 and the development studio who created VideoGame/FalloutNewVegas. Justified as the game is a CreatorDrivenSuccessor to Fallout, only in outer space. It was also seen as a jab at the company who currently owns the Fallout brand.
* VideoGame/UnrealTournamentIII was promoted in a later pre-release trailer as being developed by "the creators of VideoGame/GearsOfWar".

* Brand Sins is advertised as being "from the a**holes that brought you WebVideo/CinemaSins".
* WebAnimation/DrHavocsDiary Is advertised as "from the guys who brought you WebAnimation/TheMostPopularGirlsInSchool".

* WesternAnimation/AdaTwistScientist and WesternAnimation/RidleyJones were advertised as "from the same creators as WesternAnimation/DocMcStuffins and WesternAnimation/Vampirina", since the show is headed by Chris Nee.
* WesternAnimation/BlueEyeSamurai: Both the official trailers and posters claim that the show is made by the writer of Film/Logan and Film/BladeRunner2049.
* When WesternAnimation/DannyPhantom got its first promo, the creators of WesternAnimation/FairlyOddparents were mentioned.
* The teaser trailer for WesternAnimation/TheDragonPrince advertised the series being from the head writers and director of WesternAnimation/AvatarTheLastAirbender.
* This was this reason that WesternAnimation/FatherOfThePride caught the ire of the Parents Television Council; ads for the show cited its studio as the creators of WesternAnimation/Shrek, which they felt would mislead kid/family audiences into watching a show that was most decidedly not aimed at such.
* The promos for WesternAnimation/MiloMurphysLaw say it's "from the team that brought you WesternAnimation/PhineasAndFerb".
* WesternAnimation/ParadisePD advertised itself as "from the twisted minds that brought you WesternAnimation/Brickleberry".
* WesternAnimation/TucaAndBerties trailer states that this show is "from the team that brought you WesternAnimation/BojackHorseman".

!!Parodies:

* The first paragraph of Super Fanfic/PaperMarioX starts with a "Creator of" example, like a trailer for a movie, but a RecordNeedleScratch occurs halfway through, with the author assuring that "this is not a movie."

* Parodied by the 2007 Spanish-Italian animated film Donkey Xote. The film had a lot of similarities with WesternAnimation/Shrek, bordering on plagiarism. Its creators lampshaded this, promoting the film as "From the producers who saw Shrek".

* Creator/SeltzerAndFriedberg advertised Film/DateMovie, among others, as produced by "two of the six writers of Film/ScaryMovie."
* The trailer for Film/DudleyDoRight: "From the creator of WesternAnimation/GeorgeOfTheJungle, and the star of Film/GeorgeOfTheJungle, and the acclaimed director... who saw George of the Jungle, comes a new kind of hero."
* A trailer for Film/Deadpool2 advertises it as "from the studio that brought you Film/TwentySevenDresses and Film/TheDevilWearsPrada" - i.e. films that are very much the opposite of a action superhero comedy.
** The second trailer takes things further by adding "from the studio that [[spoiler:killed Wolverine]]".
* The first trailer for Film/FreeGuy, another Creator/RyanReynolds action-comedy, begins with one of these... but instead of naming other Creator/TwentiethCenturyFox films, it names the movies of studio owner Creator/Disney instead (namely WesternAnimation/BeautyAndTheBeast, WesternAnimation/Aladdin, and WesternAnimation/1994), and ending it with "Twice".
* Film/MadMaxFuryRoad advertising used the director's name only, as he didn't really have any similar films with which to draw favorable comparisons. Fans, on the other hand, were happy to point out that the movie about Australian madmen driving the awesomest weaponized cars this side of was "From the director of WesternAnimation/HappyFeet and ."
* Film/TheHappytimeMurders was "From the studio that got sued by Series/SesameStreet", a reference to the fact that Sesame Workshop sued the filmmakers for the tagline "No Sesame. All Street."

* Series/NotNecessarilyTheNews once ran a clip of fireworks set to orchestral music while an announcer delivered a bombastic introduction one word at a time. "From! The makers! Of! Police! Academy! 2! Comes!" Cut to an all black screen, music stops. "Nothing of importance."
* Series/MockTheWeek, during a "Scenes We'd Like To See" round, with the category being "Unlikely film trailers":
-->Rob Beckett: From the director of Batman V Superman, a heartfelt letter of apology for wasting our time.

* WebAnimation/HomestarRunner: The VideoGame/PeasantsQuest preview advertises it as being "from the company that made that game Trogdor, and that game Rabbit Algebra". (Trogdor was already a playable game on the website, but Rabbit Algebra was made up as a joke just for this trailer and was never playable.)
* In WebAnimation/HowItShouldHaveEnded[='s=] Film/ManOfSteel Superhero Cafe short, Batman points out how prominently Creator/ChristopherNolan's name was in the trailer, especially since this is the only reason they really list producers. Superman insists that's not why people are excited.
* WebAnimation/Japanoschlampen advertises the video game Ninja Shotgun Gemetzel 3 as from the makers of Ninja Shotgun Gemetzel, Ninja Shotgun Gemetzel 2 and Cutie Eichhörnchens Abenteuerländ.

* WebVideo/HonestTrailers will frequently lampoon this.
** Examples include describing Film/TheLordOfTheRings trilogy as "From the director of the Film/KingKong Universal Studios ride", or Film/Prometheus as "From the director of all those Creator/RussellCrowe movies you never saw, and the writer of Series/Lost".
** Creator/MNightShyamalan's Film/AfterEarth is "From the director of... Oh God, not him again."
** WesternAnimation/Shrek is "From the studio that brought you the DreamWorksFace."
** WesternAnimation/Cinderella uses TheTriple: "From the studio that brought you WesternAnimation/AndTheSevenDwarfs, WesternAnimation/Fantasia and WesternAnimation/TheStoryOfMenstruation.
** WesternAnimation/1967 is "From the author of Literature/RikkiTikkiTavi and The White Man's Burden? (Uh oh.)"
** The trailer for Film/Ghostbusters2016 does this with Creator/Sony's recent business mishaps.
--->Narrator: From the studio that just got hacked by North Korea, lost creative control of Franchise/SpiderMan, might lose Franchise/JamesBond, and couldn't even keep Creator/AdamSandler happy,Referring to Sandler singing a multi-picture deal with Creator/Netflix comes this surefire hit to put them back on track.
--->(cut to a montage of various negative comments on a video of film's trailer)
--->Narrator: Oh no.
* During the WebVideo/MidnightScreenings of Film/2012, while joking about how Film/Battleship flaunts "From the company that brought you Transformers", they come up with a better tagline: "From the language that brought you Hamlet".
* Trope by Yahtzee Croshaw in his series WebVideo/JudgingByTheCover during his critique of the poster for Film/FantasticFour2015.
-->Yahtzee: I love it when film marketers have to fall back on "from the studio that brought you". The usual starting point in the quality-by-AssociationFallacy is "from the director that brought you", followed by "from the producer that brought you", which is desperate in itself, and this is the final resort: a small handful of the guys involved in the creation of an unrelated good thing work in the same building as us, and you never know, maybe we caught some talent off the toilet seats."

* WesternAnimation/Futurama
** The episode "Why Must I Be a Crustacean in Love?" parodies this by having its opening caption read "From the Network that Brought You WesternAnimation/TheSimpsons." (They could have made a big deal out of Creator/MattGroening's name being on the cover of both shows, but they offer their then-shared home on Creator/Fox as the key similarity instead.)
** "A Head in the Polls" has "From the Makers of Futurama".
* Parodied in WesternAnimation/FamilyGuy, in an unaired cutaway gag from season 9, "Road to the North Pole".
-->Stewie: [to Brian] You tried to trick me! Like those commercials for upcoming movies.\
[cut to Stewie watching TV in the living room]\
Announcer: This summer, from the guys who brought you Film/Superbad comes a hilarious new comedy.\
Stewie: Uh, I hate when they do that. Which guy? You know it could be the writers or the guys in the wardrobe department, they don't specify.\
[Stewie changes the channel]\
Announcer: From the studio that brought you Film/WeddingCrashers.\
Stewie: Uh, who cares? It's sure a broad association.\
[Stewie changes the channel]\
Announcer: From the species that brought you Talladega Nights.\
Stewie: Oh what, humans? Who else is making movies?\
Announcer: From the same molecular elements that brought you Film/ForgettingSarahMarshall.\
Stewie: What?\
Announcer: ...and air!\
Stewie: Fuck off!
* Parodied in the "WesternAnimation/UncleGrandpa Babies" segment with "From the network that brought you WesternAnimation/AdventureTime and WesternAnimation/StevenUniverse."
* WesternAnimation/RobotChicken: A sketch from "Things Look Bad for the Streepster" features a trailer for The Smashing Games, which says it's "From the studio that brought you VideoGame/MarioIsMissing and Donkey Kong Hockey.
