!!This novel provides examples of:

* ForHappiness: The hin society's morality.
* HiveMind: One of their scientists even compares their society to a hive.
* HollywoodEvolution: Hins are apparently the next stage in human evolution. At one point they lost a layer of their brain that would shield them from cosmic radiation, that overrides individual urges and thoughts.
* MirroringFactions: The Behins, being intended as crude caricature of modern society. Many of their community's aspects poke fun of nationalism, capitalism, religion, literature, art, marriage and traditional gender roles, as well as war. Ironically, despite the novel's overall pro Marxist message they unintentionally ended up resembling communists themselves, so it works both ways.
* TheSpock: The Hins.
