And that's not even counting his skills in stealth and espionage, thanks to Bucky, Natasha, and [[spoiler:the Red Room]]. Oh, and he's the firstborn son of the Crown Prince of Asgard, meaning that he's got a potentially huge amount of political power and influence to bring to bear (if he ever wanted to use it). This is a large part of why quite a few villains are after him in Books 1 and 2: They want to kill him before he can ''really'' become a threat.
