* Similar to ''VideoGame/SuperSmashBros''[='=] case, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JbuJZP0_8iQ the direct]] is full of these.
** All of the "Mario Kart Memories" sections, basically {{Lampshad|eHanging}}ing the TheComputerIsACheatingBastard aspect that ''Mario Kart'' is known for, as well as some kinds of EpicFail. Made even better with the narrator's deadpan expression.
** "The body is a standard ATV, or "All-terrain vehicle", a [[GameBreaker beast]] of a ride that bring stability and comfort; even when the road of life gets all... [[BuffySpeak bumpity bump bump]]."
** At the end of the direct, we see a viewer's "Things To Do Before I Die" list. One of the things on the list is "[[NintendoHard beat]] [[VideoGame/SuperMarioBrosTheLostLevels SMB2: The Lost Levels]]".
* Luigi's DeathGlare. [[http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/luigis-death-stare Source.]]
** The general, yet subtle act of the characters staring at each other as they pass adds so much hilarity or [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l-a-CnOunzg excessive dramatic tension]] to exchanges that need to be put in slow motion to last any more than a single second.
** And then there are [[http://the-la-li-lu-le-lowdown.tumblr.com/post/87457349363/rest-in-fucking-pieces characters who constantly smile]], causing them to look outright CuteAndPsycho.
** [[https://vt.tumblr.com/tumblr_nnby43Q8sG1tfn7xq.mp4#_=_ Looks like Luigi has a terrifying new rival in the stare department]].
** [[https://media.giphy.com/media/1Jvx61YJkHP1K/giphy.gif Link is having none of your nonsense either.]]
* [[CreditsGag The credits actually advertise the in-universe products in the game.]]
* For a minor one: every time you honk near an opponent, they will be startled, briefly jump out of their kart, and look at you, as if to say "AAH! What was that about?".
** Even funnier is that every single character gets their own unique horn sound befitting them, what is Wario's car horn? ''Farting noises!''
** Or the reverse: slam into an opponent, knock them into another, and hear all of them lean on their horns in impotent fury. It's literally in-game road-rage.
* Towards the end of every lap around Shy Guy Falls, and when you enter the mine in Wii Wario's Gold Mine, you'll pass by several pairs of Shy Guys who are pushing up and down on seesaw-style handcars. As they propel the cars, you hear them saying what's most likely the equivalent of "heave-ho" in [[VoiceGrunting their "language"]][[note]]they're saying Heigh-Ho, which is what they're called in Japanese[[/note]] to the beat of their pushing and pulling over and over again. They also appear in a village around the glider segment in Wild Woods. A Shy Guy's voice is very funny to begin with, so the result is hilarious.
* Many of the courses have various critters from the series spectating on the sidelines, such as Toads, Yoshis, and Koopas. If you get close enough to a group of Toads, or in the case of some courses simply watch their short introduction video before the race starts, you can hear a ''lot'' of Toads shrieking in excitement. They all have the same scratchy, shrill voices that they always do. It's either [[SugarWiki/MostWonderfulSound a real treat for the ears]] or [[CuteButCacophonic enough to make you cry in agony]].
* Seeing [[Franchise/TheLegendOfZelda Link]] riding around in a kart. Since his model is closer to his design in ''[[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaSkywardSword Skyward Sword]]'', it doesn't look like he's comfortable in most of the karts.
** Not to mention seeing him flailing his arms when hit by a hazard or item.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9_JcM45gaFs This music video]] sums up the Mario Kart experience (Warning: language).
* The [[VideoGame/{{Pikmin}} Olimar]] Mii suit has a Pikmin clinging onto the back of the helmet.
* Baby Park, full stop! The chaos from its ''Double Dash'' ancestor carries over, but what makes it more so in this game, is that with every lap you finish, [[SongsInTheKeyOfPanic the music goes faster and faster and faster!]]
** In the background, there's a [[BreadEggsBreadedEggs Pink Gold Baby Peach]] statue. Which is amusing considering the criticism directed at character slots being used for different versions of the same character.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NdrzKkSRjPY At 200 cc, Isabelle joins Laika in space.]]
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hbK-5CCazmM Going back to 150 cc after playing 200 cc is kinda hard.]]
* As an Easter Egg in ''Animal Crossing'', hitting/crashing into a rock can sometimes reward you with a Bell.
* When playing on SNES Donut Plains 3, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wHRa0wEza4w the whistles from the original percussion]] are added in as part of the Frontrunning beat. It makes it seem as if you're driving so fast that the cops are after you with their whistles.
* There's actually physics on Mario, Luigi, Wario, and Waluigi's ''mustaches'' that makes them flutter in the wind as they're driving around at high speeds. It's a pretty amusing sight. Peach, Daisy, Rosalina, and Pauline have similar physics on their hair.
* On courses which allow you to glide to the finish line, it's possible to glide into the sign above it, causing a hilarious "CLANG!" sound.
* For months after the release of Wave 1 of the Booster Course Pass, fans of Coconut Mall complained that the cars in the parking lot didn't move, [[TheyChangedItNowItSucks like they did in its original incarnation]] in ''VideoGame/MarioKartWii''. Come the release of Wave 2, [[https://twitter.com/NintendoAmerica/status/1555191948956368897 Nintendo made them move again]]. But rather than move back and forth, they now do ''donuts'' which act as a damaging hazard. Was it what the fans wanted? Not quite. But it's ''[[RuleOfFunny absolutely hilarious]]'' all the same.
-->'''Twitter User''': Before, they used to be [[ObliviouslyEvil just bad at parking]]. Now they're trying to [[CarFu actually commit a felony]].
* In the same update that came with Wave 3 of the Booster Course Pass, Nintendo added in a single feature that allowed everyone to instill chaos in VS races: the Custom Items rule. This means that it is entirely possible to have a race where ''everyone'' can only get Spiny Shells or Lightning from item boxes, which also affects what the Crazy 8 item consists of, so expect a lot of high-power items being thrown around depending on what's set.
* The final lap of London Loop has the previously-chained Chain Chomps breaking free and moving about on the track, but the really funny part comes when one of them ends up in the River Thames.
* After Wiggler's inclusion through the Booster Course Pass, players can now have [[DepartmentOfRedundancyDepartment Wiggler ride the Wild Wiggler]] in a similar vein to Yoshi riding the Yoshi Bike.
* GCN Daisy Cruiser's dining hall with sliding tables is back. Except now, they have ''patrons sitting at them'' despite the sliding.
** Daisy Cruiser also now has Goombas with floaties in the pool near the beginning, which is bound to be an amusing sight.
* Squeaky Clean Sprint features a glider section over a toilet. On laps 2 and 3, there's a stream of water ''blasting out of it like a fountain''. Furthermore, you can ''trick'' off of it and use it to reach a different portion of the course than usual. A bidet, perhaps?
** Additionally, during the [[DownTheDrain drain segment]], you can see a LostWeddingRing off one of the turns. It doubles as a shortcut if you have a Mushroom.
* Wii Rainbow Road keeps one very important aspect intact: even with Lakitu's faster recovery of racers who go off-bounds in ''8 Deluxe'', racers still burn up in the atmosphere should they fall of Wii Rainbow Road.
* Pauline gets some of the most ludicrous tricks in the game that include whipping out an entire mic stand and summoning stage lights and pyrotechnics from {{Hammerspace}}.
* Each of the Mii racing outfits introduced in Wave 6 of the Booster Course Pass have an additional animation that can play whenever the Mii tricks off a ramp. The Moo Moo outfit in particular has the Mii [[ShakingTheRump Shake The Rump]] at the player.
