Casey is beautiful, eccentric, and rebellious, and she and Matt begin a relationship. However, it soon becomes apparent that Casey's impulsiveness isn't just a personality trait - she's mentally ill, and her parents want to institutionalize her. Matt, who thinks there's nothing wrong with Casey, runs away with her.

With Casey's help, Matt successfully passes a truck (causing the driver to do a DoubleTake), but a minute later the two of them almost get into an accident with another truck, causing Matt to swerve off-road and crash and rendering the car useless.
