A suburban community is caught up in the middle of a deadly conflict between a hunter and his alien prey.

!!The film provides examples of the following tropes:
* ActionSurvivor: Lee handles the situation pretty well for a reporter with no combat or firearms training. He himself lampshades at one point just how much he's not cut out for this, but follows Valentine into battle anyway.
* AmbiguousSituation: TheStinger revealing that the Hunter [[spoiler: is a human]] poses some questions. Where exactly did he get his weapons and armor? How did he come to hunt the alien? Is he actually [[spoiler: human or merely part of an alien species that [[HumanAliens resemble humans]]?]]
* AnyoneCanDie: Plenty of the human characters bite the dust over the course of the movie, no matter how much character development they've gotten.
* CurbStompBattle: The paramilitary group led by Valentine is hopelessly outmatched against the Hunter. [[spoiler: He manages to kill both Marty and Valentine himself, while the paramilitary can't even get a scratch on him.]]
* DwindlingParty: The survivors get picked off by the alien one by one over the course of the movie.
* EgomaniacHunter: Implied with the titular Hunter. He has no actual reason for going after the survivors and it's suggested he only does so because he doesn't want them to kill the alien before he does.
* EvilVsEvil: The titular conflict between the alien and the Hunter, as both parties are far from heroic and go after the survivors at several points.
* GiantSpider: The alien resembles one, having an arachnid lower half.
* TheMockbuster: Like almost all of The Asylum's movies. This one in particular is a mockbuster of ''Film/AlienVsPredator''.
* PoliceAreUseless: Joel, a cop, is the first character to die in the movie, after futilely trying to shoot the advancing alien. While Lee and Tammy manage to call further reinforcements, the alien easily takes care of those too by ambushing and toppling their car on the road.
* PredatorPastiche: Obviously one of the titular characters. A hulking humanoid something decked out in tech armor and weapons. [[spoiler:The ending however [[TheReveal reveals]] that the hunter is human, after unmasking himself.]]
* SacrificialLion: [[spoiler: Valentine]] is killed by the Hunter close to the end of the movie, to showcase just how dangerous the Hunter is.
* TheStoner: Figgus is all but stated to be one, with Garrison frequently alluding to him growing and smoking weed in his basement. Figgus lamely tries to defend himself by claiming he has anxiety.
* TheStinger: The final scene shows the Hunter in his lair, taking off his mask and helmet - revealing that [[spoiler: he was a human all along.]]
* XenomorphXerox: What else if not one of the titular characters. The alien was clearly designed to resemble the Xenomorph, down to using humans [[spoiler: as incubators]].
