''Hololive Apocalypse'' is an AlternateUniverseFic based on VirtualYoutuber franchise WebAnimation/{{Hololive}}, created by [=VixenOfTheStars=]. The story takes place in an UrbanFantasy setting where the idol company known as hololive doesn't exist, with the talents themselves subsequently living out drastically different lives, including as terrorists and hitmen in certain cases...

The story starts with the equivalent of [[Characters/HololiveJapanGenerationFive 5th Gen HoloJP]] and related allies finding themselves caught up in the middle of a ZombieApocalypse, instigated by the opposing [[Characters/HololiveJapanGenerationSixHoloX criminal conspiracy HoloX]].

The prologue, ''Devil's Guard'', can be found [[https://archiveofourown.org/works/47825257?view_full_work=true here]], while the rest of the story can be found [[https://archiveofourown.org/works/47955703/chapters/120911221?view_adult=true here.]]

!!This fanfic contains the following Tropes:
* AdaptationalDeviation: The depiction of Yukihana Lamy in regard to zombies; as noted by the Author Note of Chapter 5, Lamy actually likes zombie movies despite [[GirlsAreReallyScaredOfHorrorMovies her aversion to horror in general]], as [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tFM-pWO4uSQ she has put enough thought into how she would approach]] a sudden ZombieApocalypse. Because the fic had already written before this info was known by the author, Lamy's depiction here naturally doesn't reflect this.
* AdaptationalVillainy:
** [=HoloX=]'s villainy in canon is offset by their founding leader [[PointyHairedBoss being a lazy NEET who doesn't do much to preach her goals of world conquering]] and subsequently turn to idol work to recuperate their lost budget, leaving much of the group as endearing {{Cute Clumsy Girl}}s with little brand of villainy in practice. But here, not only is [=HoloX=] the entire reason the ZombieApocalypse even happened, they're also far more active as a criminal conspiracy, being one of the primary antagonists.
** Kureiji Ollie is an otherwise sweet if excitable [[CuteMonsterGirl cute zombie girl]] who is not like your average risen dead. Here, she's the PatientZero who didn't retain any semblance of humanity upon turning, kicking off the ZombieApocalypse with a bite into a Redditor's neck. PlayedWith, as she more-so monstrous than villainous here, and there's no indication that she's following any volition with her undead state.
* AntiHero: The Devil's Guard as a whole consists of a gang of law-breaking hologirls (dubbed terrorists by Oozora Police) who follow their own code of honor -- no harming of innocent civilians, only incite violence with cops in the worse case, and oppose groups who are morally worse -- and directly oppose the BigBad of the story, [=HoloX=].
* BreatherEpisode: Breaking from the zombie-related stuff due to Lamy leaving the SmallSecludedWorld to get some meds for Marine by the latter half of Chapter 3, Chapter 4 primarily focuses on Lamy getting roped into an impromptu job as a voice-actress for a video game by Watame's request... the contents of the game that she (alongside Aloe) were made to cover being [[{{HGame}} something that would naturally appeal to "Wata-Oji"]], much to the embarrassment of Lamy upon realizing what she got herself into.
* TheCameo: Rushia makes an appearance at the end of Chapter 2, finding her ex-girlfriend Marine in the Bar Monarch building, and subsequently getting fed up with the latter's... masochistic desire despite being clearly sickly, [[ScrewThisImOutOfHere making their leave shortly afterwards.]]
* EliteZombie: While most of the zombies fought are the typical shambling dead, there are special instances throughout -- most examples dubbed mutants:
** Kureiji Ollie, the PatientZero who was experimented on by [=HoloX=], is considerably hardier than the average zombie -- not only taking bullets to the torso without flinching, but also surviving a headshot that, at most, made her head recoil but still left her standing.
** Titans. Bulky and large in stature, and capable of absorbing firepower below a certain threshold while also dealing heavy blunt force against the living.
** Froggers have their tongues mutated to be long (like [[VideoGame/{{Frogger}} their namesake]]), but are also [[MultipurposeTongue versatile enough]] to wrap them around survivors and pull them in.
** Jumpers... jump at their victims to forcibly wrestle with one's center of gravity and bite at their neck.
** [[ChestMonster Mimics]] are deformed mutants in a box that'll grab and [[SwallowedWhole eat whole people]] in an ambush.
** One fought in the chapter ''Freezer Burn'', dubbed a "firebird", is a winged mutant closer to a demon rather than an undead human. Traits include talon claws to tear at victims, the ability to cause bursts of fire in large or small doses, and [[MadeOfIron being damn near impossible to kill]], requiring a [[FeedItABomb grenade down its gullet]] to finally kill it for good. [[spoiler:Notably, this mutant was specifically engineered to effectively bring {{Hell}} to the surface, going by the injection hole surrounded by a metal frame embedded in its chest.]]
* {{Expy}}: Certain mutants, particularly the Titans, Froggers and Jumpers, seem to be based on various Special Infected from ''VideoGame/Left4Dead'', though some have divergent traits (Froggers, based on Smokers, don't seem to have the latters namesake ability of bursting into smoke upon death).
* FramingDevice: Outside of the ''Devil's Guard'' prologue, the story starts with the [=NePoLaBo=] group in the "Prime" hololive universe having a hypothetical conversation about what an alternate universe without the hololive company would be like, leading to Lamy (with the three other members' ideas in mind) to think up the ''Hololive Apocalypse'' story.
* GirlsWithGuns: The cast consists largely of the hololive girls stuck in a ZombieApocalypse scenario. As such, they all wield different firearms to defend themselves.
* GrievousBottleyHarm: Faced with a zombified Kiryu Clan goon and the recently-turned cops, Lamy resorts to bashing the first zombie's skull inwards with her large bottle of sake, soon repurposing the remaining neck-piece in her hand as a handle for her [[AnIcePerson ice-conjured]] mace to deal with the rest of the oncoming undead.
* InSeriesNickname: The cast of criminals introduced in ''Devil's Guard'' has its members taking on codenames to hide their identities; Aloe being Alastor Cross, Botan being Scars, Ayame being Hannya, and Choco being Doc.
* {{Irony}}: Chloe owns a laundromat called "Chloe's Dry Cleaning". Anyone who knows enough about Chloe in hololive would know [[ThePigPen she not prone to being hygenic.]]
* PatientZero: It's been stated by 'Scars' in the Prologue that [=HoloX=] Enterprises afflicted an "innocent Indonesian girl" (implied and later confirmed to be Kureiji Ollie/Olivia) with a zombie virus as an experiment, making her the first infectee of the ZombieApocalypse that follows a day later.
* ShoutOut:
** The Devils Guard group are a gang that sport clown masks to hide their identity for their heists, in reference to [[VideoGame/PayDayTheHeist the Payday Gang]].
** The "The Worst Crime Imaginable" sub-story is a reference to [[https://imgur.com/a/fFfum the Turkey Swiss on Rye incident]], with Shion
* SmallSecludedWorld: The government's approach to dealing with the zombie outbreak is to quickly erect a massive steel wall around the area, with the only way between both that and the unaffected area is through the [[AbsurdlySpaciousSewer underground sewer system.]]
* ThinkOfTheCensors: The narration blatantly notes how Lamy said "this and that" in regards to the {{Eroge}} she was made to voice-act in the BreatherEpisode, and that it can't be detailed any further without raising the fic's content ratings.
* WeaponSpecialization: Each of the hologirls grouped up in times of the zombie outbreak have their own weaponry
** For Scars, AKA Botan, she's got a powerful SniperRifle as her main, though she's diverse in what weapons she can use, like how she's talented at FPS games in canon.
** Lamy uses the basic pistol as her starting gun, even keeping it on hand for insurance while getting the thematically appropriate bow, something she's more familiar with thanks to her elven heritage.
* YeOldeButcheredeEnglishe: The writing of Hannya (Ayame) in the "The Worst Crime Imaginable" sub-story is portrayed as this in a downplayed manner, repeatedly using "thou art" and "thee" in her letters of protest against the sandwich thief.
-->'''Hannya:''' [[SophisticatedAsHell Pardon my uncouth language, but thou art potentially the lowest scum I'd ever exchanged words with.]]
