->"After what Sora considers to be the most challenging fight of his life, he expected to be teleported back to the Final World. What he didn't expect was to wake up in a world filled with Gods and a Dungeon so deep that no one knows how far it goes. Finding a way back home isn't going to be easy, but at the very least, he has a hearth to fall back on."

Taking place after Sora's battle with Yozora, the Keyblade wielder finds himself on the fifth floor of the dungeon, just in time to save Bell from a minotaur. Joining the young adventurer and his Familia in order to keep a low profile in this strange new world, events unfold differently from the influence of the newcomer, who in between helping his new friends, tries to find a way home.

[[https://www.fanfiction.net/s/14016032/1/Kingdom-Hearts-Familia-Myth Kingdom Hearts: Familia Myth]] is a crossover story between ''Franchise/KingdomHearts'' and ''Literature/IsItWrongToTryToPickUpGirlsInADungeon'' written by [[https://www.fanfiction.net/u/5713519/Keybladewielder97 Keybladewielder97]].

!Kingdom Hearts: Familia Myth provides example of:

* AbsurdlySpaciousSewer: Orario has one and it's where Sora and Shakti find a secret room with a Behemoth Heartless and end up running into a horde of Heartless Violas hybrids that Bete is fighting against.
* AchievementsInIgnorance:
** In Chapter 11, Sora fights a Cat Person who tried to attack Bell. [[spoiler:He defeats the spear wielder without much effort (with him mentally making a disfavorable comparison to the [[DualWielding 6 spear wielding Xaldin's]] [[BlowYouAway capabilities]]) while never finding out about his true identity as Allen, the Level 6 Vice Captain of the Freya Familia.]]
** In Chapter 15, while Sora was rushing to save Bell, a boaz blocks his path, forcing a confrontation. [[spoiler:And Sora managed to defeat the boaz without realizing that the aforementioned boaz is Ottar, the single strongest Level 7 adventurer of the Freya Familia.]]
* AccidentalMisnaming: A member of the Ganesha Familia named Modaka, also known as [[SelfDemonstratingArticle Familia Member A or Madara]], is prone to being subjected to this by everyone around him to the point where when Sora approaches him and gets it right he at first thinks that Sora got it wrong.
* ActOfTrueLove: The various instances of this that Sora witnessed are what he mentally contrasts to Hermes' statement about romance.
* AdaptationNameChange: Downplayed, but the story calls Hephaestus Hephastois due to the light novel translation the author read.
* AdaptationalBadass:
** Sora's influence causes Bell to grow at a much faster pace than in canon, thanks in large part to their respective skills boosting his already absurd growth. He also takes up learning how to use throwing knives before he attains magic in order to give himself a ranged option, and his Firebolt spell [[spoiler:has a light attribute that grants it [[HomingProjectile homing properties]] and becomes super effective against Heartless on top of having an enhanced form that can be [[LimitBreak accessed through consecutive casting]]]].
** When Lefiya joins in on Ais' training sessions with Bell and Sora, the latter suggests she learn how to chant magic while on the move, greatly expanding her versatility.
** [[spoiler:The Minotaur Bell fights is infected with a Heartless, and gains several of the abilities of an [[EliteMooks Invisible]], including fireballs, a telekinetically controlled sword and overall enhanced power]].
* AdaptationalRelationshipOverhaul: In canon, Lefiya has [[UnknownRival a one-sided rivalry with Bell]] for Ais' attention and holds him to a degree of contempt. Here, she first meets him in the midst of a joint training session between him, Sora and Ais herself, and any jealousy is swiftly displaced over their shared admiration of their respective role models.
* AdaptationalSuperpowerChange: [[spoiler:Firebolt has a light attribute instead of the canonical lightning which as Sora notices notably makes it something akin to a Light Firaga which doesn't exist in the Kingdom Hearts series.]]
* AdaptationalWimp: [[spoiler:Ottar, [[WorldsStrongestMan the single strongest Level 7 adventurer of Orario]], gets defeated by Sora though Sora's status as an OutsideContextProblem for the world of [=DanMachi=] arguably justifies this.]]
* AudienceSurrogate: Hestia [[spoiler:and later Hephaestus and Lili]] being utterly confused by the sheer scope and [[KudzuPlot complexity]] of Sora's account of his adventures reflects the reactions of newcomers to the Kingdom Hearts series.
* AlienNonInterferenceClause: The World Order gets brought up on multiple occasions though ironically Hestia ends up caring more about it than Sora who as the world traveler and protector of worlds would be supposed to be uphold it and was the one who told Hestia about it to begin with.
* TheAlliance:
** The Hestia Familia ends up cooperating with the Ganesha Familia to deal with the threat the Heartless pose after Sora decides to give them some explanations regarding the Heartless.
** Later Loki tries to form one with Hephaestus for the sake of gathering information on the Heartless to protect the members of their Familias but this fails due to her already working together with Hestia.
* AlmightyJanitor: On paper, Sora is a Level 1 adventurer that has just arrived in Orario and only recently started entering the dungeon. In practice, he retains all his strength and skill from the events of ''[[VideoGame/KingdomHeartsIII III]]'', which puts him leaps and bounds ahead of all other adventurers, and his experience with fighting the Heartless has already given him plenty of practice in dealing with a wide variety of monsters. Further reinforcing this status, since all adventurers start out at Level 1 regardless of prior power, this means that [[DiminishingReturnsForBalance any excelia he gets from defeating monsters is so miniscule]] levelling up isn't even feasible whereas Bell has a status that quickly grows and he managed to Level Up which makes Sora this within the Hestia Familia as well from an outside perspective.
* AlternateSelf:
** Sora quickly realizes that the Zeus of the world of Orario is separate from the Zeus he is familiar with when Hestia fails to recognize his picture of the latter on his Gummiphone.
** When Sora meets Hermes from [=DanMachi=] and his questionable hobbies he realizes how different he is from his counterpart in the Kingdom Hearts universe.
* AlwaysABiggerFish: The Heartless are a threat capable of consuming entire worlds and their inhabitants, even Hephaestus considers them more dangerous than the One-Eyed Black Dragon, the most powerful monster that Orario's dungeon has ever created.
* AlwaysSomeoneBetter:
** To Ais' surprise, Sora manages to not only match her in their sparring match, but visibly holds the upper hand and manages to emerge unscathed, despite being Level 1. [[spoiler:He also proves himself to be this to Allen and Ottar, which the latter takes better than the former.]]
** Hephastois considers Chip and Dale to be better craftsmen and engineers than her, since they managed to surpass the capabilities of the gods of Orario due to the creation of the Gummiship, a vehicle capable of traveling between the different worlds almost without limits.
* TheApprentice: Sora noted that he would be willing to teach Bell magic once he hears about Bell learning magic, but he isn't sure if it would work, due to how magic works in the [=DanMachi=] world. Bell himself also doubts that it would work since Kingdom Hearts magic is more advanced than what he thought.
* TheArchmage: Sora thinks that Donald would be the most broken magic user by the [=DanMachi=] world's standards, as there's a hard limit of three spells per person.
** In a non-canon omake Donald does consider the limitations and requirements of that world ridiculous, and thinks that chanting is too conspicuous and leaves you vulnerable.
* AttackReflector: [[spoiler:Shakti's new arm bracer made from a boss Heartless drop by Tsubaki can absorb force from attacks and release it at her command.]]
* AwesomenessByAnalysis: Sora shows off some impressive analytical thinking in combat, and also proves himself to be quite effective at assessing how to help Bell, Ais and Lefiya train to the point where he is able to give them a good training plan for them to follow in his absence.
* BadBoss: [[spoiler:If the implication that Zanis used Heartless to get rid of people that failed to fulfill orders indicates anything, then we can firmly consider him to be this.]]
* BagOfSpilling:
** Due to his misuse of the Power of Waking, Sora has lost access to it.
** This is what Sora at first thinks is the case for his strength after getting his Falna and being handed his stat sheet by Hestia, but unlike in the games it gets subverted, since everyone starts with the same stats after receiving their Falna, regardless of how strong they already are.
** Later, it gets played straight for Sora in regards to all of his summons except the Dream Eaters.
* BattleAura: Bell's Hestia Knife gives him one thanks to its light attribute. The Aura gives him extra defense, so it's not all for show.
* BeehiveBarrier: Sora can do this with Reflect magic. Using an Elemental Formchange prevents him from using defensive magic, but he can circumvent that issue through changing Keychains.
* BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor: [[spoiler:Hephastois grows increasingly confused and intrigued by the Gummi Ship blueprints Sora provided her to try and build, wishing she had more context. Her frustration boils over when Hestia and Sora repeatedly answer her questions with "that's a long and complicated story" before eventually outright demanding the truth... and immediately regretting it with the headache that comes from the {{Infodump}} of the events of the Kingdom Hearts story, with all the insanity that entails.]] {{Lampshade|Hanging}}d in that she admits she can't even complain since she literally asked for it. [[spoiler:Lili ends up in a similar situation after joining the Hestia Familia due to not wanting to stay LockedOutOfTheLoop.]]
* BeyondTheImpossible: Once Hephastois is properly informed about Sora's situation, she notes that the Gummi Ship surpasses all of the transportation in her world, with her adding that no god has ever achieved something like that even in Tenkai. She believes that her Arcanum would have the best chance of forging it, but even she is skeptical about it actually succeeding.
* BigBrotherMentor: Sora plays this role to Bell, being the much more experienced warrior of the two despite being a newcomer to Orario. He frequently doles out advice and praise to the young adventurer as needed, helping his progress along immensely and reinforcing his self-confidence. He even gave Bell a training plan for him to follow alongside Ais and Lefiya while Sora was gathering high level monster drops in the Deeper Floors of the Dungeon.
* BlessedWithSuck: Hestia's opinion of having Sora in her Familia. On one hand, he's a fighter heads and shoulders above all but the best Orario can offer, has numerous assets to help her Familia, and acts as a positive influence on Bell in terms of character and skill. On the other hand, she has to deal with the constant headache of making sure he stays under the radar (which clashes with his ChronicHeroSyndrome), the many, many, ''many'' cases of [[WrongContextMagic powers he uses that utterly break the rules of their world]], [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking and hearing the crazy nonsense that is his previous adventures]].
* BothSidesHaveAPoint: A recurring argument throughout the story is between Hestia and Sora regarding the latter's minimal care for keeping a low profile. Hestia is correct that showing off too much of his powers will put him on the radar of nefarious gods, causing all sorts of headaches and making it harder for him to effectively fight the Heartless in the Dungeon. On his end, Sora points out that in many circumstances, avoiding using ''any'' of the abilities that would raise suspicion about him would diminish his ability to fight the Heartless and save people, which is their top priority. Both sides are willing to concede the other's point, and the argument is usually centered about the correct balance between priorities.
* BuriedAlive: [[spoiler:This nearly happened to Sora after he used a Megaflare to finish off a Heartless Venenthes while underground, but he was able to simply drill his way up to the surface unharmed.]]
* CannotKeepASecret: This is what Hestia believes would be the case if she told Bell and Sora the truth about Liaris Freese and Link to All, especially in the hypothetical situation of them being confronted about it by a god. She has good reason to think so, because Sora keeps slipping up and showing his powers, forcing him to either improvise an explanation, pick up whatever a witness suggests, or just leave everyone confused about it.
* Catch22Dilemma: When Hephaestus asks for the details on the Gummiship so she can build it, Sora admits that he left them to Chip and Dale... whom he won't be able to reach unless he has the ship.
* CharacterDevelopment: Having Sora as a member of her Familia and being forced to make sure he remains safe and under everyone's radar causes Hestia to become much more responsible in how she handles official business, especially when interacting with other gods.
* ChronicHeroSyndrome: Within minutes of arriving in the Dungeon, Sora saves Bell from the minotaur. Throughout the story, he frequently makes sure to help others when he can, such as saving Lefiya from the Heartless, and even outside of combat like Miach with his financial situation. It is also for this reason that Hestia wants to avoid having him join parties outside their Familia, noting if they were in trouble he'd prioritize helping them out over keeping a low profile.
* CloseRangeCombatant: Bell has taken note of himself being this early on in the story due to struggling with enemies with a larger range, and decides to compensate for this by adding throwing knives to his arsenal and practicing with them. Later Bell gains the Firebolt spell which enhances his ability to fight from a distance. Some time after that it's shown though that he still struggles against those who primarily fight from a safe distance and can counteract ranged attacks like Firebolt.
* CommonalityConnection: Lefiya joins Bell in watching Sora and Ais' sparring match, and upon hearing both his admiration of the two and a desire to catch up, quickly forms a rapport with him over their shared admiration of someone seemingly so far above them.
* ContinuityNod:
** Sora discovers while experimenting with the Keyblade without using magic a technique that he decides to call Judgment. The feeling that he performed it before and his body is just remembering it confuses him and references the events of VideoGame/KingdomHeartsChainOfMemories. The same happens with a Fire Raid inspired by Bell's [[spoiler:Firebolt Raid]].
** Sora whistles the Steamboat Willie song while cooking for his party's stay at the 18th Floor.
* ConvenientlyUnverifiableCoverStory: Hestia, Sora and Bell use the excuse of Sora coming from some remote island that isn't on the maps and currently not having a way to return home or contact his friends as an excuse for his general lack of the local common knowledge while omitting anything to do with other worlds. The fact that there is no complete map of the world works to their advantage.
* TheCorruption: As in canon, the Heartless corrupt sentient and sapient beings by stealing their hearts away, increasing their numbers in the process. [[spoiler:Zanis is the first adventurer in Orario that gets turned into a Heartless on-screen.]]
* CoverBlowingSuperpower: Almost all of Sora's skillset qualifies as this as he is actively avoiding drawing too much attention to himself and trying to keep his origins secret.
* CrazyPrepared:
** Sora went into the final battle with Xehanort with ''a lot'' of healing items. After that, they still prove enough to stock up the Miach Familia's store and allow them to pay off their debts and still have more.
** The Hestia Familia's plan to ensure Lili can leave the Soma Familia has several contingencies in case just handing over the money isn't enough. Zanis refuses to let them see Soma? [[spoiler:They have Hestia nearby hidden with a Vanish spell so she can prove that he's lying.]] He decides to just have the Familia members attack? Even leaving out Sora and Bell are there as backup [[spoiler:Shakti and the Ganesha Familia are hanging back listening for enough evidence to arrest them. If not for Zanis being able to summon Heartless]], the plan would have gone off without a hitch.
* CripplingOverspecialization: Discussed by Hestia and Bell, who note that one of Sora's skills makes all of his attacks incredibly effective against darkness-based enemies, which only appear on some of the Upper Floors of the Dungeon, and are rather weak to begin with. On paper, this would make his usefulness rather limited... though considering his immense power, versatility and the appearance of the Heartless, this is a moot point.
* CultureClash:
** This is for all people - including Orario deities - who learn about the history of Sora and how complex the Kingdom Hearts universe is.
*** An outstanding example is when Hestia ([=DanMachi=]) learns that Hercules is a biological son of Zeus (Kingdom Hearts).
*** Sora himself doesn't quite understand the difficulties others have with his story.
** There was a minor case of this between Sora and Ganesha in regards to their definitions of souls while Sora explained what the heart is.
** In general, Sora's altruism and ChronicHeroSyndrome acts as a contrast to the majority of adventurers that typically look to make a profit, and have a mercenary approach to their profession. Bell is an exception, having idealised the idea of an adventurer as a hero.
* CurbStompBattle: This is generally what the result is when Sora fights against monsters from the Dungeon, especially when he doesn't have to hold back. It's to the point where he has much more trouble with extracting magic stones and navigating through the Dungeon, and questions if reaching the 50th Floor is really as impressive as Ganesha and Shakti make it seem after he did it in a week while looking relatively unscathed.
* CuttingTheKnot: Sora and Bell offer to help Miach and his Familia get out of debt by collecting several rare potion ingredients. Upon hearing that they simply need potions to ''sell'' rather than the ingredients themselves, Sora decides to simply give them ''most of his supply of healing items'', giving them a full stock of valuable goods and bypassing the need to go on any {{fetch quest}}s.
* DarkIsEvil: Sora and Bell discuss this after Bell gains the Firebolt spell and Sora contrasts it to Riku's Dark Firaga, with Sora making it clear to Bell that DarkIsNotEvil and that it is entirely possible for LightIsNotGood to be the case.
* DeadpanSnarker: Bete gets this response from Sora due to his behavior.
* DeflectorShields: The Demon Wall uses one against Sora, Shakti and Tsubaki from behind them while it is in front of them for the purpose of crushing them with it.
* DefrostingIceQueen: A gender inverted and platonic example with Otto. According to Midadol, it is rare for him to warm up to someone he just met like Sora, to whom he was initially a bit suspicious and dismissive.
* DidntSeeThatComing: The Hestia Familia has a very well thought out plan to ensure Lili can leave the Soma Familia and/or they can have Zanis arrested. This gets derailed [[spoiler:when he unveils the ability to summon and (partially) control Heartless]].
* DidntThinkThisThrough:
** Sora was at first just going to cast his Gravity magic on Ais to control her strength for her sparring matches with Bell due to her [[DoesNotKnowHisOwnStrength troubles with holding back]] before Bell stopped him and reminded him that he had to keep his magic secret. Fortunately, after a short moment of thinking he was able to improvise a guise using his items.
** After Lili [[spoiler:comes clean about her need to rack up enough valis to pay her way out of her abusive Familia]], Sora decides to go to the Deeper Floors of the Dungeon to get enough high-level monster drops to quickly build up funds. While he's strong enough to accomplish this, [[spoiler:afterwards Ganesha points out that a (supposedly) low level adventurer handing over a pile of drops from incredibly powerful monsters would draw exactly the kind of attention he was trying to avoid. Thankfully the god himself comes up with a workaround, narrowly averting this trope]].
** Sora taking pictures of Midadol's knives using his Gummiphone is useful for showing it to Bell but didn't account for the difference in TechnologyLevels and that Midadol would get interested in the for her completely unknown device that is blatantly being used in front of her. This is despite the fact that Midadol clearly indicated that she had no idea what Sora meant with taking a picture when he asked for permission. He later fails to account for Welf's presence when he wants to show the knives to Bell with Bell discretely reminding him.
** Sora failed to consider the Goliath respawning, though he does end up taking advantage of the situation to help Bell become stronger.
* DivinePunishment: According to Hestia, [[DangerousForbiddenTechnique Sora's use of the Power of Waking]] would technically warrant this for violating the laws of life and death, if it wasn't for the fact that he did it in another world with the price he paid for it being relatively light to her astonishment.
* DoubleTake: Like in canon, this is Eina's reaction to hearing Bell levelled up so soon.
* DramaPreservingHandicap: Seeing as how Sora retains his full power from the end of ''[[VideoGame/KingdomHeartsIII III]]'', he is far above pretty much anything found in the world of ''Literature/IsItWrongToTryToPickUpGirlsInADungeon''. However, Hestia notes that the sheer power and scope of his WrongContextMagic would draw the attention of ''everyone'' (especially [[JerkassGods nefarious gods]]) and risk all sorts of complications arising for both him and the rest of the Hestia Familia. As such, he makes sure to limit his abilities as much as possible when in the presence of any other locals, especially magic.
* TheDreaded: [[EldritchAbomination The Heartless]], for their ability to corrupt and turn others into Heartless and consume entire worlds in the process. Hephastois considers them more dangerous than any monster from the world of [=DanMachi=], including the One-Eyed Black Dragon, once she gets informed about them.
* ElementalAbsorption:
** Downplayed, Sora's Storm Fan item is explained to do this with [[BlowYouAway Aero magic]] to a certain percentage which he uses to aid him with sending weak Aeros at Lefiya as part of her training.
** Sora's use of the Snowman Rosette while making ice cream implies that it works similarly.
** Bell's IrrƩgulier knives forged by Welf can absorb fire to amplify and unleash it, due to the material from the Heartless Infant Dragon.
* EnemySummoner: Mammon's roots demonstrated the ability to constantly grow Creeper Plant Heartless variants while spreading.
* EveryoneHasStandards:
** While Loki takes great pride in her Familia's strength and fame, looking down on those beneath her, even she finds Bete's constant derision of 'weakling' adventurers to be in poor taste.
** During the Denatus in Chapter 18, Loki had the chance to reveal Sora's existence to the other gods. She could have them pressure and question Hestia on why a Level 1 like Sora is as powerful as a Level 5, but she doesn't. Despite Loki's personal rivalry with her, she's not too cruel or petty to toss Hestia to the wolves and drag the other gods in their little feud. Not to mention, everyone would be gunning for Sora to join their Familias if they found out about him when she plans to tempt him to join hers.
* EvilIsNotAToy: Sora certainly thinks so. Because he has witnessed the fate of all those who would recklessly try to harness the power of the Darkness.
** Proven in the case of [[spoiler:Zanis, who is shocked when one of the Heartless he summons stabs him InTheBack, transforming his heart into a boss-type Heartless named Mammon.]]
* ExpectingSomeoneTaller: This is the case for Sora in regards to the Goliath in spite of it already being quite large as it is.
* FishOutOfWater: Sora never had to worry about being trapped in another world and having to keep his origins and powers secret for an extended period of time with no clear target to pursue or a way out and it shows. He frequently fails to realize it when from the perspective of the residents of Orario his powers, equipment, tools and other things he is used to stick out and seem strange or extraordinary. Hestia and Bell have at some occasions interfered when Sora is about to unwittingly do something detrimental to his cover though they aren't always around.
* FlyingWeapon:
** Sora improvising with the Keyblade without using magic in front of Lili results in this.
** The Heartless Minotaur does something similar in its fight against Bell.
* ForcedSleep: Sora can use magic for this, which he uses on multiple occasions to prevent or stop conflicts.
* {{Foreshadowing}}:
** Apparently, the Loki Familia encountered a mysterious boy wearing strange clothes on the 50th floor, [[spoiler:who is later revealed to be Neku Sakuraba from "Franchise/TheWorldEndsWithYou"]].
** Bells Firebolt spell has some extra text that says "consecutive uses will allow for Raid". [[spoiler:Come the fight with the Heartless Minotaur hybrid, and he starts manifesting blades of fire as projectiles a la Axel after casting Firebolt.]]
* ForgotAboutHisPowers: Downplayed, but in his fight with [[spoiler:the Mammon Heartless]], Sora only remembers partway through that he can switch between Keyblades on the fly. Justified since he's become accustomed to making minimal use of his abilities, and it's been a while since he could go all out.
* FriendOnTheForce: The Ganesha Familia acts as the enforcers of the law in Orario, and Shakti's status as its Captain and the bond she's developed with Sora make her this for him.
* FryingPanOfDoom: Sora uses a Formchange which is a giant example of this with fire during the Monsterphilia incident with even the improvised explanation of it being a special ability of a magic sword, or magic shield in this case, still making it a strange thing for the Loki Familia.
* GameplayAndStoryIntegration: Many of the gameplay mechanics from the Kingdom Hearts series are elaborated upon in the story.
** When Bell asks Sora why he doesn't just wear dozens of accessories to further boost his stats, the latter says that wearing too many results in the different effects randomly turning on and off, hence why he only sticks to a few at a time.
** Sora's ability to carry the sheer number of items on him at all times is a result of his pockets having built-in BagOfHolding. Merlin also enchanted this to suspend time inside, explaining how he carries all the food he makes in ''[[VideoGame/KingdomHeartsIII III]]''. He is shown to be able to just take a cooking pot fresh off the oven and stuff it into his pocket.
** Tsubaki observes that Sora's Keyblade appears to have the ability to deflect magic in the battle against the Infernal Engine, which is why he can bat away fireballs which aren't physical enough for such a feat to be possible under ordinary circumstances.
** Sora mentions only having been able to bring out two Dream Eaters at a time during the Mark of Mastery and claims that this was mainly due to the rules of the exam.
** It's explained that the Dream Heartbinder only allows for one Dream Eater at a time to be summoned, with Sora only being able to momentarily summon other Dream Eaters with Meow Wow.
* GilliganCut: The moment Welf says that he is ready for anything the Heartless throw at him the scene cuts to him having trouble and questioning why [[VideoGame/KingdomHeartsX a monster is throwing hot coal]].
* GravityMaster:
** The lowest tier of Sora's Gravity magic is enough to push Ais, who is a Level 6, to the limit, and compensate enough for Ais' difficulties in holding back to allow Bell to properly spar against her. It is also aided by Sora's fine control of gravity to the point of being able to use it to walk up walls with Sora having only needed a single spar to properly gauge Ais' strength before applying his Gravity magic on her. The Gravity magic proves effective enough to become a regular feature of the training.
** [[spoiler:The Heartless Venenthes displayed Gravity magic which it used to drag Sora down a large distance into an underground cave and to keep its distance from Sora.]]
* GunsAkimbo: Sora uses a Formchange that is this against the Mammon Heartless to rain fire magic bullets on it due to fire proving to be super-effective. Later in the fight, he switches to a Formchange that is a {{BFG}} instead.
* HarmlessFreezing: This is how Sora punishes Hermes for remorselessly trying to peek on bathing women. He makes a {{pun}} about it too. For good measure, he hung a wooden board around his neck explaining what he got caught for, which causes Asfi to leave him like that for a while once she finds him.
* HealingFactor: [[spoiler:The Heartless Venenthes was able to quickly regenerate its tentacles against Sora.]]
* HelpingWouldBeKillStealing: {{Downplayed|Trope}} and {{Justified|Trope}} with regards to Sora and Bell crawling through the dungeon. Given that Sora is already well above most adventurers, he has no need for excelia from the monsters found there, and lets Bell deal with them in order to gain experience. It's only when dealing with the Heartless that he takes an active role, and even then he usually leaves a few to Bell in order to help him improve.
* HeroWorshipper: After hearing Sora's recounting of how he saved the worlds several times over, Bell quickly grows to admire him greatly, considering him a real-life version of the various heroes he read about in stories. Notably, the level of his admiration is sufficient to push his Liaris Freese skill to the same length as his love for Ais in canon.
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: [[spoiler:Zanis gets turned into a Heartless by the Heartless he summoned shortly before that happened.]]
* IdenticalStranger:
** Shadows happen to look similar to War Shadows, which are monsters of the Dungeon with the similarities being even bigger with the Neo Shadow Heartless, though they are still very different creatures which only have being aligned with darkness in common.
** Fels' dark robe and hood and their way of wearing it unfortunately looks similar enough to a hooded Organization XIII member for Sora to immediately get suspicious despite Fels not even knowing Organization XIII. Fortunately Fels manages to quickly clear things up.
* IfOnlyYouKnew: A downplayed example but Welf notes that Sora must be a pretty capable guy if he can handle himself on the 11th Floor. This kind of statement is very much an understatement when applied to Sora.
* ImplausibleDeniability: Sora denies having used two spells after the fight against the Demon Wall when Tsubaki asks him about it despite the fact that he used both [[HealingHands Curaga]] and [[AntiDebuff Esuna]] in front of her, with her having the impression that [[MakingASplash Waterga]] comes from Sora's weapon.
* ImprobableWeaponUser: Lampshaded by Bell when Sora uses the Storm Flag Formchange to beat him around in a spar. In addition to that, people comment or think on multiple occasions on Sora's weapons looking strange, though that usually has more to do with appearance than any doubts for the functionality even if the latter issue does come up.
* ImStandingRightHere: Lili and Welf have a talk about how strange Sora is when he's standing right behind them. He lampshades it.
* InSpiteOfANail:
** In spite of Sora saving Bell from the minotaur and taking Ais' place as a source of inspiration (in more of a sense of HeroWorship than RescueRomance), Bell still [[LoveAtFirstSight falls head over heels upon seeing her for the first time]].
** Likewise, due to the Loki Familia wishing to make amends over Bell being placed in danger due to the minotaur they missed, Sora suggests Ais give the boy some lessons in physical training, noting that training with multiple people will be good for him.
** Bell levels up at the same time as in canon by fighting a minotaur despite his increased growth though the minotaur was enhanced through being posssessed by a Heartless.
** While the context of her leaving is different, Soma still tests Lili's resolve by giving her some of his wine, and is greatly impressed when she manages to resist its effects.
** Welf ends up joining Bell's party despite the fact that Sora's presence completely nullifies the need for any additional party members.
** Despite not being trapped in the Dungeon, the Hestia Familia (along with Welf) still make their journey to the 18th Floor in order to investigate the Heartless' activities.
* InstantlyProvenWrong: During the Monsterphilia when Sora shows up to help Modaka tells him to run from the Infant Dragon and states that Sora got lucky with his 'magic sword' only for Sora to easily deal with said Infant Dragon not long after Modaka made that statement which gets lampshaded by the other Ganesha Familia member with him.
* {{Invisibility}}: Sora can apply this to someone using the Vanish spell in addition to it also erasing one's presence [[spoiler:which he ends up using on Hestia as part of a ploy against Zanis. Later, after Lili suggests it due to her suspicions, he also uses it to listen to the conversation between Hermes and Finn]].
* {{Irony}}:
** Tsubaki offers to serve as Sora's personal blacksmith in exchange for getting first pick at any of the rare materials he collects. For most, having the Captain of the Hephaestus Familia as a personal smith would be a lucrative offer, but since Sora already has all the defensive equipment he needs, he turns her down without a second thought, to her disbelief.
** After they learn of Lili's poor situation in the Soma Familia, Hestia stops Sora from charging in guns blazing, noting that it is unlikely to end well for them, since they'd be seen as the aggressors... when that is ''exactly'' what she did in canon, albeit under more pressing circumstances.
** Once Tsubaki witnesses Sora's Keyblade in action and she doesn't get any further with figuring out how it is forged by questioning him, she becomes determined to find Sora's blacksmith, when the truth is that the Keyblade is a weapon tied to Sora's heart with various different forms accessed through Keychains with Sora himself being the closest available equivalent to a blacksmith who creates and maintains his various weapons. It doesn't help her situation that she agreed to not question Sora about his weapons any further in exchange for materials from a Heartless they defeated together with Shakti.
** Seeing a glimpse of what Sora can do was enough for Loki to want him for her expedition to the Deeper Floors, so her Familia went to look for him outside of the Dungeon which happened while he was in the Deeper Floors on his own gathering high level monster drops for Lili.
** Welf thinking that Sora has a high Level is this if you consider that Sora is not only a Level 1 but a Level 1 who has hardly gained any Excelia, with Hestia thinking that it is a surprise Sora got ''any'' points for his stats at all due to his already pre-existing strength.
** Welf, the one smith who doesn't want to forge magic swords despite his lineage, ends up in the same party as Sora, whose easy access to materials for powerful magic swords that no one had ever heard of before means that pretty much any other smith would want to team up with Sora. The end result is a very envious Tsubaki.
* ItAmusedMe: This is Midadol's reason for forging weapons despite already being an engineer, aside from not wasting materials. This is a surprisingly mundane reason for Sora, who is used to having to deal with a certain someone with a ComplexityAddiction and his incarnations.
* KarmicJackpot: Miach has been generous to Bell with the potions he gives out numerous times in the past despite his own precarious financial situation. When Bell brings Sora to his shop for the first time, the Keyblade wielder manages to put [[JerkassGods the god]] [[LoanShark Dian]] to sleep with a spell (avoiding a confrontation) and provides him with his entire supply of potions and other restorative items, ensuring the benevolent deity has more than enough resources to turn his situation around.
* LaserGuidedKarma: [[spoiler:It's hard to argue that Zanis getting backstabbed by the Heartless he summons is anything but this considering his generally contemptible behavior and the implication that he used them to get rid of people that failed to fulfill orders.]]
* LeaningOnTheFourthWall: Sora asking to Hestia's disbelief if there's a Level 99 after taking note of the levels adventurers have references the levels from the Kingdom Hearts games.
* LeeroyJenkins: Sora has quite the impulsive streak. Anyone from his party or the Hestia Familia that isn't Bell would rather like it if that was less the case.
* LeParkour: Flowmotion has heavy elements of this and has been noted to be something that would perfectly suit Bell's fighting style. After a conversation regarding this between Bell and Sora after Bell sees Sora using it, with Sora speculating that it might be possible for Bell to gain it as a skill or magic, Sora started training Bell in this particular skill by using an abandoned district as a training course and having Bell dodge blasts of Sora's water magic in order make him as agile as Flowmotion.
* LesserOfTwoEvils: While the way the Gods' greed for people for their Familias would cause them to hunt Sora down if they knew what he was really capable of reminds Sora of Xehanort, he ultimately considers them to be this, since they aren't seeking something like destroying or recreating the world, and instead simply want to be entertained and gain fame and glory for their Familias.
* LightningBruiser: Against the general expectations the people of Orario have of Level 1 newcomers, Sora repeatedly proves himself to be this.
* LivingLieDetector: The Gods' status as this is what allows Hestia to pick up on Sora's initial attempts to hide his status of being from another world from her and Bell, and he quickly decides to tell the truth. It is also for this reason that the two try to avoid having him come into contact with any other gods, noting it will make keeping any secrets incredibly difficult.
* LifeDrain: Bell's Ushiwakamaru has this as an ability, thanks to Welf forging it using the Heartless Minotaur's horn.
* LockedOutOfTheLoop: Due to the World Order and the potential repercussions of revealing the entire truth surrounding Sora and the Heartless a good number of characters from Orario are this due to the efforts of the characters who have varying degrees of knowledge regarding the situation.
** The Ganesha Familia has been informed of things like the processes leading to the birth of Heartless, what they do to their victims and how Sora is important for eliminating them to the point of directly helping with fighting against and looking out for them, but they are ignorant regarding the wider context involving entire worlds and Sora's background. Shakti quickly catches onto Sora keeping secrets but is assured once she ascertains his character.
*** Once Hestia begins cooperating with Ouranos she is the one who gets kept unaware of Ouranos and Ganesha already cooperating with each other because of a different matter and that Ganesha himself gave an explanation of the Heartless to Ouranos at Ouranos' request due to trusting him to not do anything wrong with the information.
** Hephaestus is kept unaware of Sora's capabilities and background and the circumstances surrounding the for her unknown materials he is capable of procuring, as well as the full scope of what the construction of the Gummiship entails, much to her frustration, until she demands the details in order to help better and ends up regretting asking.
** Tsubaki is kept in the dark regarding the details of Sora's weapon despite Hephaestus knowing about them, with her only becoming partially aware of its properties after seeing its performance in the Dungeon.
** The Hestia Familia unintentionally does this to Lili [[spoiler:even after she comes clean and more or less joins them]], with her lacking context for a lot of the discussions between them about both Sora's powers and the nature of the Heartless.
** The gods in general are this once they find out that adventurers are going missing without a trace, due to not knowing about the Heartless and what they do to their victims.
** Due to Welf being new to the party, they decide to first test his trustworthiness and make a non-disclosure agreement with him, and even after he encounters a Heartless Infant Dragon hybrid and meets Sora, they only share a few details with him.
*** He is later also left in the dark about the details of the reason why Sora needs to go to the 18th Floor.
** The Takemikazuchi Familia learns a bit about the Heartless and the importance of Sora handling them, but they are still unaware about the cooperation between the Hestia and Ganesha Familias regarding this issue.
* LogicalWeakness:
** This is what Hestia is going for by keeping the truth about Link to All and Liaris Freese to herself, since the LivingLieDetector ability of the Gods isn't going to tell them what is going on if Bell and Sora genuinely believe what they say.
** Curaga can heal injuries but unconsciousness that arises as a result of a Mind Down is not an injury, which means Sora needs to wait a while until Bell wakes up when he suffers from a Mind Down after the fight with the Heartless Minotaur hybrid. It also doesn't remove objects lodged in a wound, which meant that Chigusa needed to have the weapon embedded in her upper back pulled out before she could be healed, which caused some pain.
** Mammon is a giant BotanicalAbomination with ice powers that is weak to fire which Sora [[ExploitedTrope uses to his advantage]].
* LoopholeAbuse: Tsubaki hopes that being on good terms with Sora could potentially result in him introducing his blacksmith to her, which would allow her to circumvent the condition of not being able to ask Sora about his weapons.
* LuckilyMyShieldWillProtectMe: Sora uses a shield Formchange to great effect against the Heartless Violas hybrid from the Monsterphilia with the Loki Familia commenting on the 'magic shield'.
* LyingByOmission: Bell does this to Hestia when he says that he is curious to meet a mermaid and adds how they are rarely encountered, while not mentioning how mermaids are described as beautiful creatures and how he got a good look at Ariel's beauty through the Gummiphone. Hestia doesn't press the issue but isn't convinced.
* MagicIsAMonsterMagnet: The Keyblade has this effect on Heartless, though since Sora can handle himself in a fight against them, it primarily makes his job easier and takes the brunt of the threat from those who are nearby away.
* ManOfKryptonite:
** Hestia's appraisal of Sora's skills includes one called 'Guardian of Light', which makes all his attacks super effective against Darkness-based enemies, explaining why he has such an easy time against Heartless. When battling a War Shadow, explicitly the strongest Shadow monster in the Dungeon, it proves enough for him to defeat in ''one punch'', with barely any effort to boot.
** Bell gradually becomes one as the story goes on, with his Hestia Knife being imbued with Electrum giving it a Light attribute making it incredibly effective against Heartless [[spoiler:and his Firebolt spell having light magic which can burn away dark magic and also has homing properties, further boosting his effectiveness]].
* MasterSwordsman: Sora is able to match Ais blow for blow to the point where she mentally admits to struggling with landing a hit on him. After a second spar he's analyzed and understood her style to the point of being able to give her advice. Against [[spoiler:Ottar, Sora's swordmanship proves enough to slowly break Ottar's Perfect Defense down]].
* MathematiciansAnswer: When Tsubaki incredulously asks where Sora has got one of the Keyblades he pulled out, he pauses for a second and then just says "from my pockets..."
* TheMaze: One sits right underneath the city of Orario, called the Dungeon. It has multiple floors, with monsters getting stronger per floor. They also grow out of the walls.
* MeaningfulName:
** Bell's alias Skyward Seeker has The Cloud Chaser as a hidden meaning, which is enough for Hestia to consider it a case of AtrociousAlias, unlike Bell and Sora who don't know about that. Sora makes a contrast with the Seekers of Darkness with him stating that Bell is seeking the sky itself instead of darkness. Bell's HeroWorship towards Sora makes that quite appropriate since Sora's name means sky.
** With the context of Sora knowing someone with the name Cinderella Lili's transformation spell's name Cinder Ella which even mentions a midnight's bell in its release chant to further hammer the point home becomes this. Both Lili and Cinderella lost their parents at a young age and then got exploited for years until things got better for them. Outside of their circumstances they are very different people though.
* TheMedic: Due to his healing spells and items Sora tends to take this role towards his party members.
* MetaphoricallyTrue: Since Sora is unable to lie to gods, when Hephaestus questions how it is he came across the synthesis materials (which are apparently ''crystallized elemental energy'') from the Heartless (which he's trying to keep a secret), he says that he has a unique skill that makes the items drop from certain rare monsters. While Heartless are relatively common, they tend to congregate towards Keyblade wielders, who in turn are much more capable at defeating them. So technically, he's not lying.
* MoneySpider: The Heartless are this and provide Sora with plenty of for Orario unknown materials that can allow blacksmiths to make strong magic swords and are therefore estimated by them to be quite valuable and rare despite Sora himself having rather easy access to them.
* MortonsFork: This is what the situation would be if Sora managed to find the door to the heart of [=DanMachi=]'s world with the Heartless around. If he opens the door, the Heartless can enter and consume the heart behind it which he can't allow, but without opening the door he can't get the Gummi Blocks he needs for the Gummi Ship that he needs to return home.
* MultiMeleeMaster: Through the use of his Keychains and Formchanges Sora can proficiently use and switch between different weapons in a fight, which he does against [[spoiler:Ottar and]] Mammon.
* MundaneUtility:
** Sora uses his fire and wind magic to dry Bell's clothes after Bell got hit by Sora's water magic during Bell's agility training in the abandoned district.
** Apparently, Merlin enchanted Sora's very deep pockets with time magic so that any food they hold will be perfectly preserved.
** Sora's [[AnIcePerson Blizzard magic]] and the Snowman Rosette get used for making ice cream.
* MundaneSolution: Attempted by Sora when an adventurer that Lili previously stole from demands that he and Bell hand her over to him so she can pay him back for his sword. Sora simply tosses him their haul of crystals from the day to make up the loss, though he is willing to fight when the guy still insists on payback.
* MythologyGag: Eating spaghetti reminds Sora for reasons that he can't explain of a statue in Traverse Town with the appearance of [[WesternAnimation/LadyAndTheTramp two dogs]].
* NiceGuy: Sora and Bell are both very much this.
** There is even a scene where Sora metaphorically shines out of sheer niceness which takes Anya and Chloe aback.
* NormalFishInATinyPond: [[spoiler:[=DanMachi=]'s canon states that level 5 adventurers like Shakti and level 7 Ottar are among the most powerful fighters in Orario, but most of them pale in comparison to the major heroes and villains of the Kingdom Hearts universe. In a confrontation between Sora and Ottar who was standing in his way and challenging him, Sora defeated him without much effort when he stopped containing his true strength]].
* NotQuiteFlight: Sora was tempted to glide during the Monsterphilia in order to more easily search for Syr, but doesn't to avoid catching the attention of others.
* ObliviousGuiltSlinging: Riveria mentioning Sora having to give up what she and the Loki Familia believe to be a valuable magic shield during the Monsterphilia while helping the Loki Familia makes Sora feel guilty, since the truth is that he didn't actually have to give it up and can access it whenever he wants, which means that the Loki Familia is getting worried over a sacrifice that Sora didn't actually make and he can't correct the misunderstanding without destroying the cover for his powers that he needs to keep secret.
* OneManArmy: Sora can be considered this due to regularly dealing with large hordes of Heartless and him having a multitude of different spells and attacks that can quickly annihilate large numbers of monsters and Heartless upon a single use. One notable example is Sora clearing out the entire Colosseum on the 37th Floor with one attack.
* OneSteveLimit:
** There is an aversion you can spot with Ais' spell Ariel and Sora's friend from another world who is a mermaid named Ariel.
** This is averted with the Behemoth, which is a name for both a monster from the Three Great Quests and a type of Heartless.
** There is a minor aversion between Cinderella from the Kingdom Hearts games and Lili's spell Cinder Ella.
* OnlySaneWoman: Hestia finds herself forced to play this role between Sora's gung-ho attitude and Bell's HeroWorship towards the Keyblade wielder causing him to follow his lead, having to repeatedly remind the two they're meant to be keeping a low profile. After joining the Hestia Familia, Lili begins to feel the same way.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: The Heartless mostly stay in the Dungeon unlike how they acted in Sora's previous encounters with them. Later they begin to move lower in the Dungeon with Sora having no idea why due to also not knowing why they previously stayed on certain floors to begin with. This is considered to be a sure sign that someone is ordering them around.
* OurDemonsAreDifferent: The first time Bell encounters Heartless he takes note of how much [[DarkIsEvil darker]] and demonic they seem compared to the monsters he was used to at that point.
* OurGodsAreDifferent: In origins, personalities, and backstories, the gods of Kingdom Hearts' Greek Pantheon are different from their [=DanMachi=] counterparts. A prominent example of this is that Hercules (Kingdom Hearts) is the son of the gods, Zeus and Hera whereas the [=DanMachi=] gods cannot have biological children.
* OurMermaidsAreDifferent: Comes up in a conversation when Ariel gets mentioned since mermaids are a type of monster in the Dungeon. The implication of there either being FantasticRacism or that mermaids in the world of [=DanMachi=] are like the monsters of the Dungeon is something that Sora doesn't exactly find appealing.
* OurMonstersAreWeird: This trope describes how Shakti and Tsubaki feel about the Infernal Engine.
* OurSoulsAreDifferent:
** Freya's ability to see souls makes her see Sora's soul connecting with other souls and making them shine brighter which according to her understanding of souls shouldn't be possible with her having considerable difficulties understanding why and how it works.
** While Sora's explanation of the heart makes Ganesha think of the soul Sora clarifies that the soul is essentially the life force that animates and fuels the body which Ganesha who is a god who managed some souls in Tenkai considers to be an interesting take. Hephaestus and Hestia are stunned by the fact that [[GeniusLoci worlds have hearts]].
* OurSpiritsAreDifferent:
** The story dabbles with this with the spirits of [=DanMachi=] and the Spirit Dream Eaters. It causes concern to Hestia about how the Dream Eaters could draw attention due to being spirits (which are beloved by the gods) and unheard of in Orario in addition to the possibility of them being mistaken for monsters.
** Sora talking about Genie the spirit of the lamp with his ability to grant three wishes is also this with someone becoming a spirit like Jafar did being utterly unheard of.
* OutsideContextProblem:
** Goes both ways with this: Sora is completely unfamiliar with the monsters of the Dungeon, while Hestia and everyone else from Orario know nothing of the Heartless though the latter prove to be the bigger threat. Their origins and compositions are very different which in turn causes considerable differences in a practical context that causes adventurers who don't have prior knowledge of the Heartless to quickly notice that they are different compared to what they are used to.
** Sora himself is also this to any of the people from Orario he fights. Adventurers are due to their Falna generally superior to ordinary people with there being a limit to how strong you can get without a Falna and outside of Orario it's already impressive to reach Level 3 while Sora has fought opponents or performed feats equivalent to Level 5, 6, 7 and superior levels despite being a Level 1 who is new to Orario. Aside from his strength his abilities also contribute to making him this with a simple Formchange from him being [[spoiler:outside the realm of Ottar's experiences and winning the fight against Ottar for Sora]]. Hephaestus believes that people would try to hunt after Sora or try to get rid of him for the potential threat he poses if the truth about him spread to everyone.
* OvershadowedByAwesome:
** This is Bell's initial impression after first using Firebolt due to having Sora's magic to compare it to though finding out that it is something that Sora cannot use makes him think that it is more unique and special than he thought.
** Both [[spoiler:Hephaestus]] and Hestia adopt this attitude to adventurers in general, noting their achievements have trouble topping Sora having saved all worlds 3 times.
* PersonOfMassDestruction: With Sora's incredible strength, displayed destructive potential and the ability to potentially plunge an entire world into darkness he qualifies. Hephaestus considers the last point to be rather frightening and believes because of this that people who find out the truth about him might try to get rid of him as a potential threat.
* PlayingTheVictimCard: Hestia warns Sora of the possibility of the Soma Familia doing this if he directly confronts its Captain which would put a strain TheAlliance with the Ganesha Familia due to them being responsible for the law enforcement.
* ThePollyanna: Sora is persistently positive to such a degree that it is infectious and there is a noticeable difference in the atmosphere without him.
* PoorCommunicationKills: Ganesha wishes to see Sora, having heard about his part in repelling the Heartless when they attacked Orario and wishes to gather more information about the never before seen monsters. Thus, he sends one of his subordinates to bring him to his headquarters. However, he failed to inform Hestia of this ahead of time, which results in her arriving at the Ganesha Familia headquarters and angrily demanding to see him, under the impression he's being interrogated. For his part, Ganesha apologises for the blunder.
* PositiveFriendInfluence: Sora is this for both Ais and Lefiya. Due to Sora Ais has started to enjoy her life outside the dungeon more by spending time with him and Bell and began approaching other people in her Familia for sparring, and he repeatedly bolstered Lefiya's confidence and even unintentionally nipped her jealousy towards Bell in the bud.
* PowerMisidentification: Due to how much Sora's powers and background differ from the norm in Orario it naturally invites misunderstandings which he doesn't correct in order to avoid drawing attention.
** The Loki Familia and Shakti mistake Sora's various Keyblades as strange magic swords which are responsible for the magic he casts through them and him dismissing them as them breaking.
** Sora passes his Gravity, [[LethalJokeItem Balloon]] and Aero magic off as being performed through items in his possession which actually serve other purposes to Ais and Lefiya in order to use his magic to aid them and Bell with training.
** When Sora tells Lefiya of how Donald is able to cast spells while whacking monsters with his staff Lefiya concludes that Donald must know Concurrent Chanting when the truth is that Donald doesn't need to chant just like Sora doesn't need to.
* ThePowerOfFriendship:
** Upon granting Sora a Falna, Hestia discovers he has this as an actual skill! 'Link to All' lets him manifest [[CombinationAttack team attacks]] depending on who he's with among other things, and also has a secret ability that Hestia keeps hidden, namely one that is similar to Liaris Freese, it acts as an experience booster. Except instead of boosting ''his'' growth, it boosts that of those around him based on how close they are, which given Sora's outgoing nature, makes Bell's already absurd growth skyrocket! Hestia herself notes how absurd a skill it is, and that many gods would attempt to claim Sora for that alone.
** The author has stated that the connection that has formed between Sora and Bell's hearts has influenced Bell's magic learning process [[spoiler:which has caused Bell to go to the Dive to the Heart and for his magic to have several traits associated with Kingdom Hearts spells.]]
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure:
** Sora quickly pegs Ganesha as one, which is one of the reasons why he decides to fill him in on the Heartless (while being careful to omit anything indicating his or their status as being from outside the World). The god in question then promises to keep him informed of any sightings his Familia comes across, and cooperate on eradicating any found outside the Dungeon. Loki is shown to think similarly about him which causes her to believe that he is hiding information about the Heartless for a good reason once she catches onto him doing that and prevents her from pressing the issue in front of others even if she still wants to know the truth from him.
** Ouranos is viewed as this by both Hestia and Ganesha which is what gets him information about the Heartless from them to allow him to make better decisions about how to deal with the threat of the Heartless.
* RPGMechanicsVerse: Sort of. Both the [=DanMachi=] and Kingdom Hearts universes share similar videogame-like mechanics, such as the Adventurers stats and theĀ Random DropĀ gained from defeating Heartless.
* RunningGag:
** Sora obliviously showing off a power that's either ridiculously rare or outright unheard of in the [=DanMachi=] universe, and [[SureLetsGoWithThat nervously rolling with whatever assumptions people make to explain them]].
** Hestia [[spoiler:and later Hephaestus' and Lili's]] YouHaveGotToBeKiddingMe reactions to Sora's account of typical Kingdom Hearts events and abilities.
** The Ganesha Familia member Modaka being referred to as "Ganesha Familia Member B". [[RunningGagged Subverted with Sora, who actually gets his name right]].
** Tsubaki's (failed) attempts to get Sora to help her blacksmithing skills, either through first pick on the materials he picks up, or getting details about the one who made his weapons.
* SecretKeeper: The entire Hestia Familia has become this in regards to the secrets surrounding Sora and the Heartless and they also enforce that using non-disclosure agreements with outsiders. The Ganesha Familia which only knows part of the truth also helps them with this. Hephaestus joins them regarding that once everything is explained to her. [[spoiler:Ouranos also gets involved and unlike Ganesha gets told the full story by Hestia]].
* SeeTheInvisible: Bell manages to figure out that thanks to Firebolt's homing property it can hit an invisible Stealth Sneak even when he doesn't exactly know where it is and with its white fire clinging to it it is outlining its shape.
* ShipperOnDeck: Sora quickly picks up on Bell's crush on Ais, and in between teasing him about it makes sure to talk him up whenever she's within earshot.
* ShoutOut:
** The story has two Heartless Bosses named Demon Wall and Mammon that reference Final Fantasy.
** Sora comes across an adventurer trio who mention that a [[WesternAnimation/SouthPark Kenny was killed]].
** The new Hestia Familia home is based on the Glade Mansion from ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyXIV''.
** Sora's disgusted face towards Hermes is supposed to match [[Manga/DemonSlayerKimetsuNoYaiba Tanjiro's face of disgust]].
* SkeletonKey: Sora's Keyblade can unlock any lock which he demonstrates to Shakti by opening an adamantite door that's blocking their way. It can also open the door to a world's heart.
* SmugSnake: [[spoiler:Zanis is one with the way he confidently summoned the Heartless which later backstab him and arrogantly dismisses Sora.]]
* SoProudOfYou: Sora of Bell [[spoiler:after seeing the end of his fight with the Minotaur]].
* SpeakOfTheDevil:
** As soon as Bell asks about the Heartless and Sora begins to answer the Heartless show up in the Dungeon.
** As the Loki Familia are discussing consulting Sora about the black monsters they've encountered, Ais comes in to inform them that he and his party have just arrived on the 18th Floor.
* SpontaneousWeaponCreation:
** Sora mentions Larxene creating knives for combat which Bell thinks is amazing though Sora doesn't quite agree due to the ubiquitous nature of this and SummonToHand in Kingdom Hearts.
** [[spoiler:Bell's Firebolt Raid creates swords made from fire]].
* StoryBreakerPower: The author has stated that Sora would have been able to get the Loki Familia's expedition past the 59th Floor if he had joined and has on another occasion outright called Sora a story-breaker.
* SummonMagic:
** Sora discovers that he retains his ability to summon Dream Eaters.
** [[spoiler:After letting Bell use the Heartbinder and the Adventurers Level Up, they discover he can summon his own as a skill, no assistance required and they later repeat that with Lili after she joins the Familia.]]
* SummonToHand: The Heartless Minotaur gained the ability to make it's weapon physically move back to it.
* SuperEmpowering: It turns out that Sora can do a form of this via the Link to All skill which allows him to give other people Dream Eater summoning skills that can be used via Sora's Dream Heartbinder.
* SupremeChef: Sora retains knowledge of how to cook from his time with Remy, and his skills are sufficient enough to impress Mamma Mia, herself an example of this trope. It also lands him an occasional job working at 'The Hostess of Fertility'.
* SureLetsGoWithThat:
** After being forced to fight the Heartless in public, Sora slips and uses one of his [[MorphWeapon Formchanges]] to deal with a particularly powerful one, with his magic and physical prowess shocking the watching Loki Familia members. After dismissing his Formchanged Keyblade they assume his performance was boosted by a magic sword he just used up, which he rolls with to avoid any more attention.
** This is how Bell reacts to Welf assuming that Sora has a high Level with the rest of the party following his lead.
* SweetTooth: Sora listing off various sweets gets him called this by Lili and he does prove himself to like food that is far too sweet for the likes of Bell and Welf.
* TakeThat: When Lili asks why Bell and Sora decided to save her, Bell considers giving his initial canon response of 'because you're a girl', before chastising himself for such a stupid answer.
* TaughtByExperience: Sora gets the idea of testing Welf by splitting up from Bell and Lili to let them figure out what kind of person Welf is from applying his experience with the Spirit Dream Eaters to the situation.
* TechnologyLevels:
** Sora's Gummiphone is a piece of technology unknown to Orario that manages to perplex Bell and Hephaestus with its functions with Hestia saying to Hephaestus that it is a special magic item. Seeing Bell's shock at the combat data videos from his Gummiphone actually makes Sora think a bit about the different levels of technology of the worlds he visited. In a conversation with [[WrenchWench Midadol]] Sora actually ends up [[CannotKeepASecret slipping up]] because of that and ends up making her work on establishing a network between his Gummiphone and the AR Device he has from Hiro in San Fransokyo in an improvised approach to diverting the topic without just continuously denying her.
** The Gummiship even as a mere concept with nothing but blueprints to show is also very notable since in the [=DanMachi=] world a flying wagon is already considered revolutionary and the Gummiship is far beyond that to the point of surpassing the capabilities of the gods.
* TemporaryBlindness: The Demon Wall Heartless showcased the ability of inflicting this against Sora, Shakti and Tsubaki.
* TemptingFate: [[spoiler:Zanis calls the Heartless easy to control and dismisses Sora's concern. A few moments later and one of the Heartless he summoned backstabs him.]]
* ThisIsADrill: [[spoiler:Ottar ends up on the receiving end of an example of this thanks to one of Sora's Formchanges with it being noted that he never encountered a weapon like this before.]]
* ThrowingYourSwordAlwaysWorks: This is Sora's answer when Bell asks him how he dealt with Heartless which have range at the beginning of his journey since Donald always told him to save his magic for something important and his magic was less effective against some types of Heartless. It's more practical than it would seem at first since Sora can summon the Keyblade back to his hand.
* {{Touche}}: When Lili agrees with Hestia that they should be wary of Welf joining their party, made more suspicious by his own Familia not forming one with him, Sora and Bell point out that giving the benefit of the doubt to people is what lead to ''her'' joining. She concedes the point.
* TransferableMemory: Thanks to having inherited memories from Roxas Sora can identify Heartless that Roxas encountered but he didn't and also use these memories to figure out how to deal with them accordingly.
* TrappedInAnotherWorld: Due to his misuse of the Power of Waking Sora has found himself in the world of [=DanMachi=] deprived of all means of leaving it. As a result one of his goals in this story is to find a method of leaving this world to return home.
* {{Tsundere}}: Loki flat out describes the way Bete acts towards Sora after the fight against the Behemoth Heartless as this.
* UnderestimatingBadassery:
** {{Justified|Trope}} due to his status as an AlmightyJanitor, but people who first meet him tend to assume Sora is in over his head upon hearing he's a Level 1.
** When faced with Canoe, his cronies and Killer Ants that were lured through a corpse part from one of their kind Lili began to fear for Sora and Bell despite the fact that she knew that Sora was much stronger than he seemed and she previously compared him to a Level 3 or 4. The confrontation was quickly resolved with a single [[LightEmUp Faith spell]] that utterly obliterated the enemies much to Lili and Bell's astonishment.
* UnskilledButStrong: Heavily {{Downplayed|Trope}} with Ais, who is an incredibly skilled swordswoman, but [[SkilledAndStrong Sora]] notes that she always puts excessive power into her attacks, with her fighting style being geared towards fighting monsters rather than other people.
* UnusuallyUninterestingSight: Discussed when Sora is surprised that this ''[[SubvertedTrope doesn't]]'' apply to the people of Orario. Especially when he shows them pictures of Donald, and is confused as to why they think a walking, talking duck is unusual.
* VillainTakesAnInterest: Alongside Bell, Freya quickly grows intrigued by Sora, noting his soul can actually reach out, connect to and brighten others, something she didn't think was even possible. [[spoiler:Later on, she orders Ottar to obstruct and gauge Sora's fighting prowess while Sora is in a hurry to rescue Bell. The result of the confrontation only adds to her interest and expectations for Sora.]]
* WalkOnWater: Sora is capable of doing this by channeling magic to his shoes.
* WhatIf: Sora's presence causes multiple divergences to the plot of ''Literature/IsItWrongToTryToPickUpGirlsInADungeon''.
** For starters, him saving Bell [[spoiler:and Bete and Ais being confronted by a group of Neo Shadow Heartless]] greatly delays the young man's first meeting with Ais, which doesn't occur until ''after'' he first learns magic.
** He provides Hestia with several of the synthesis materials he collected on his quest, which allows her to cover the cost of the materials for Bell's knife. As such, while she is still in debt to Hephaestus, it's solely for commissioning her and her reaction indicates it's one she can feasibly work off on her own.
** The Hestia Familia ''all'' take up Syr's initial offer, and due to Hestia wanting to avoid Loki, leave before Bete can give his canon rant about weaklings that made Bell run off in shame.
** Sora's presence prevents Lili from attempting to steal from Bell, as she doubts she could swipe his knife with another pair of eyes around. She also dismisses stealing from Sora, as his Keyblade would be next to impossible to discretely swipe and sell off later. The two paying her extra to keep quiet about the Heartless and their consistent kindness [[spoiler:results in her coming around to them without ever attempting to steal from them or lead them into a trap]].
** Due to Sora's influence Shakti levels up and becomes Level 6.
** [[spoiler:Zanis trying to use the Heartless upon being cornered by the Hestia and Ganesha Familias causes him to be turned into a Heartless.]]
** Lili ends up leaving the Soma Familia and joining the Hestia Familia earlier than in canon.
** Sora going deep into the Dungeon [[spoiler:to obtain enough funds for Lili to leave]] ends up going so well that the Hestia Familia has ample money before the equivalent of the end of the first season is out. This, plus the extra members causes Hestia to consider obtaining new housing for them.
** Bell's Alias becomes Skyward Seeker instead of the canonical Little Rookie through Freya's input.
** Thanks to Sora Bell's group doesn't end up suffering from a Pass Parade on their first time through the Middle Floors and avoids falling deeper into the Dungeon. They also have a good first encounter with the Takemikazuchi Familia.
** Sora notices Hermes taking Bell to peep on Lili and the women of the Loki Familia bathing and drags them both away before anything happens.
* WhatMeasureIsANonHuman: Sora has some thoughts regarding this in the sense that he hopes that some day a Ganesha Familia member is able to bond with a monster and fight alongside them the way Sora and the friends he summons do. He also feels that the people's caution towards monsters does not excuse the possibility of creatures like Meow Wow being immediately labeled as dangerous.
* WholesomeCrossdresser: Tsubaki briefly entertains the notion of Sora being [[ItMakesSenseInContext an Amazon who is this]] before it quickly gets shut down by Hephaestus.
* WhiteIsPure: The Light Attribute of Bell's Hestia Knife and his Firebolt are both white and Sora notes that Bell's flames have a feeling of purity.
* WillfullyWeak: To try and keep a low profile, Sora limits his use of magic to healing and one or two attack spells when in the company of other Adventurers, and mainly fights with his Keyblade.
* WorfEffect:
** Hephaestus the god of a world-famous and large smith type Familia who is a master smith herself admits to Sora's Keyblade being superior to anything she is capable of forging.
** Bell was easily taking out several of the Freya Familia's Level 1s during their ambush on him.
** Ais does well enough against the four Gulliver brothers at once for them to call her a monster.
* WorthyOpponent: [[spoiler:Ottar begins to view Sora as one after Sora defeats him in combat.]]
* WrongContextMagic: Just about everything Sora uses, from his weapons, equipment, to actual magic is completely different to what is typical in Orario.
** His clothes already have protective properties, which are further boosted by whatever accessories he has equipped, making armour unneeded, on top of his pockets functioning as a limitless BagOfHolding that can store [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking weapons, gear, and perfectly preserved food!]] This is in contrast to the more standard armour in Orario that requires upkeep and maintenance and causes some misunderstandings with Tsubaki who due to this in addition to Sora's status as an AlmightyJanitor initially believes that Sora has far too little protection and relies on being a FragileSpeedster.
** His [[EmpathicWeapon Keyblade]] is an indestructible weapon from his heart that he can SummonToHand, and he possesses a small arsenal of Keychains, each of which grant the Keyblade when attached their own appearances, magical properties and [[MorphWeapon alternate forms]] that can be utilized at will. By contrast, any magic weapons produced by blacksmiths have a limited number of uses, and break after exceeding these. According to Tsubaki no magic sword in history should have the ability to transform like Sora's Keyblade does. Welf's ability inherited from his bloodline to sense magic swords allows him to tell that it is magical but also tells him that it is very different compared to the magic swords he knows.
** His actual magic is used with a single word each as opposed to a full chant that is usually required and sometimes he doesn't even do that to cast spells, and he knows dozens of those spells as opposed to the three spell limit adventurers have and which Sora finds too limiting once he hears of it. Hestia notes that this combined with the power of his spells essentially makes him a magic cheat by her world's standards. He also doesn't suffer a [[PowerStrainBlackout Mind Down]] when he runs out of magic with him needing to be informed by Riveria about it due to him being unfamiliar with the phenomenon. His falna sheet doesn't even list more than just Key to Mystic under Magic to account for his many spells, which in Kingdom Hearts canon are like 20 spells.
** His Attraction Flow is considered by Bell to be Sora's weirdest ability and also involves futuristic elements for which the people of Orario wouldn't have any context with their current level of technology. Welf's question if it was Sora's magic was only answered by saying that it was something like that.
* {{Yandere}}: As per canon, Freya towards Bell, having sent several adventurers in her Familia (wearing disguises) after him, Ais, Sora and Lefiya after their training to [[ShameIfSomethingHappened 'convince' the Sword Maiden to stop spending time around him for his own safety]], even if it is just training.
* YouDoNotWantToKnow: More or less Hestia's response when [[spoiler:Soma]] asks about the monsters (Heartless) that attacked his Familia.
* YouRemindMeOfX:
** When Bell sees the photo of Zeus (Kingdom Hearts), it gives him the impression that he physically resembles his own grandfather.
** Part of the reason Shakti of the Ganesha Familia warms up to Sora so fast is because his optimism reminds her so much of her late sister.
* ZergRush: The general strategy of the Monsters of the Dungeon. While even novice adventurer can cleave through packs of weaker monsters with ease, the sheer number of monsters means that they will eventually overwhelm a defender if they prolong the assault. They launch continuous, relentless attacks, with each subsequent attack being worse and worse as the negative emotions caused by the previous attacks attract more monsters and Heartless to the area.
