3[[https://nhk.or.jp NHK]] (short for Nippon Hoso Kyokai, Japanese for "Japan Broadcasting Corporation") is the MediaNotes/StateBroadcaster of Japan. It was founded as the Tokyo Broadcasting Station on November 29, 1924, and changed to its current name on August 6th, 1926.

12On radio, NHK operates three domestic networks, Radio 1 (news and public affairs, similar to Creator/TheBBC or Creator/{{NPR}}), Radio 2 (educational programming, including English language lessons), and NHK FM (classical music and news), plus a multilingual international broadcaster, NHK World - Radio Japan, which broadcasts in 18 languages on the Internet and on shortwave radio.
