His breakout role was the aforementioned role on ''Piece of Cake'', and he has been a regular presence on television ever since, including a seven-year starring role as Det. Inspector Thomas "Tommy" Lynley opposite Creator/SharonSmall as Det. Sergeant Barbara Havers.
