3	Michael York OBE (born Michael Hugh Johnson in Fulmer, England, 27 March 1942) is an English actor.

5	His career began in the 1960s when Franco Zeffirelli cast him in his film versions of ''Theatre/TheTamingOfTheShrew'' and ''Film/{{Romeo and Juliet\|1968}}''. In the 1970s, he appeared in ''Film/{{Cabaret}}'', ''[[Film/TheThreeMusketeers1973 The Three Musketeers]]'', ''[[Film/MurderOnTheOrientExpress1974 Murder on the Orient Express]]'' and ''Film/LogansRun''. In the late 1990s, he became known to a new generation of moviegoers as Basil Exposition in the ''Film/AustinPowers'' series.

7	His television career includes the miniseries ''Series/JesusOfNazareth'' (for which he reunited with Zeffirelli), ''Series/CurbYourEnthusiasm'' ([[AdamWesting as a fictionalized version of himself]]), and several guest appearances on ''WesternAnimation/TheSimpsons'', voicing both Mason Fairbanks (Homer's supposed birth father) and Dr. Budgie.

9	York has been married to photographer Patricia [=McCallum=] since 1968. His stepson, Rick [=McCallum=], is a film producer in his own right.
