3	Eidos Interactive was a British VideoGame publishing company. It was founded in 1996 as the result of a merger between three publishers (Big Red Software, Domark, and Simis). In 2005, Eidos was bought by [=SCi=] Games, but was later sold to Creator/SquareEnix in 2009. Shortly afterwards, following a reorganization of the company, Eidos was merged with Square Enix's European operations into Square Enix Europe. Currently, the brand is only used by former Eidos-owned franchises, with no future plans of bringing back the name.

5	In May 2022, Square Enix announced that it would be selling the Eidos and Creator/CrystalDynamics trademark, along with three studios that were formerly formed under the Eidos namesake[[note]]Crystal Dynamics, Eidos Montreal and Square-Enix Montreal[[/note]] and a large number of [=IPs=] created under Eidos and Crystal Dynamics[[note]]Specifically, ''Franchise/TombRaider'' and ''VideoGame/DeusEx'', among many others[[/note]], to Embracer Group (owners of Creator/THQNordic). This acquisition was completed in August of that year.
