Jean Edmond Dujardin (born 19 June 1972 in Rueil-Malmaison) is a French actor and comedian.

He began his career as a stage stand-up comedian in UsefulNotes/{{Paris}} before embracing an acting career, guest-starring in comedic television shows and skits, and eventually turned to starring roles in films.

While he usually plays CringeComedy and IdiotHero parts in France, from his StarMakingRole of Jean/Loulou in the French version of ''Series/UnGarsUneFille'' to the SurferDude Brice de Nice and the ''Film/OSS117'' {{spy fiction}} parody films, his international breakout with ''Film/TheArtist'' [[SugarWiki/HeReallyCanAct proved he's not limited to the comedy genre]]. The role of fallen silent film actor George Valentin won him considerable acclaim and numerous awards, the UsefulNotes/AcademyAward for Best Actor most notably (the first ever for a male French actor).
