3	''The Transformers: Monstrosity'' is a twelve-part miniseries, published by IDW Publishing between March and July 2013. A direct sequel to ''[[ComicBook/TheTransformersAutocracy Autocracy]]'', it continues where that series left off, with the Autobots dealing with their freedom in the very early days of the war. The Dinobots take centre stage, on the run from the law as they attempt to steal the funds to escape Cybertron, while Scorponok usurps Megatron's seat of power following his defeat at the end of Autocracy.

Here they've been reimagined as a decadent society who collapsed in on itself and all the survivors are cannibalistic savages instead of the scavenger race they originally were. However their meeting with Megatron is pretty much the same as their debut in the cartoon, they swarm an intruder for junk, the only difference is that they don't seem to be able to self heal. Finally, Megatron doesn't attempt to befriend them like the Autobots did, and their target is a villain as well so whether or not they are a straight example would depend on future appearances.
