''Galacta: Daughter of Galactus'' is a 2010 comic book by Creator/MarvelComics, written by Adam Warren with art by Hector Sevilla Lujan.

An alternate universe story starring [[Characters/MarvelComicsGalactus Galactus]]' daughter Gali. Refusing to eat whole planets, she instead targets dangerous organisms such as alien invaders. This diet keeps her weak and leaves her human-sized but allows her to live on Earth.

Originally released as a four issue webcomic, the series was eventually published as a one shot in 2010.

!!''Galacta: Daughter of Galactus'' provides examples of:
* AlternateCharacterInterpretation: InUniverse, Gali views her "daddy" Galactus as a callous, world-eating monster. She desperately wishes to remove herself from her father's shadow and overcome her base urges to consume everything in her path, though the Tapeworm Cosmic makes this very challenging. [[spoiler:However, Galactus's surprise appearance at the end of the comic seems to favourably change her opinion of him, as he informs her that the "Tapeworm Cosmic" is actually a foetal form of another nascent cosmic entity developing inside her; in other words, she's pregnant. She considers the possibility that Galactus does have some fatherly compassion after all.]]
* BadassAdorable: Galacta is an adorable BespectacledCutie who goes by "Gali", who also happens to be the daughter of Galactus, one of the most powerful beings in the Marvel Universe, and she is almost as powerful as him.
* BespectacledCutie: Galacta wears a cute pair of glasses as part of her "Gali" identity.
* CharacterBlog: Gali has her own [[https://twitter.com/Gali_girl Twitter account]], which is also incorporated into the story.
* CoolHelmet: Gali has a helmet modeled after her dad's.
* CuteMonsterGirl: Gali looks like a slim, attractive human woman, but she is secretly the spawn of a primordial, planet-devouring cosmic entity with a ''very'' different biological makeup to any earthling.
* DistaffCounterpart: Gali's basically a normal-sized girl with Galactus' costume and powers.
* DrivenToSuicide: [[spoiler:When a "Tapeworm Cosmic" increases Gali's appetite to unbearable levels, she tries to kill herself with the Ultimate Nullifier]].
** [[spoiler:Actually, it was more like she was trying to give herself a very risky abortion]].
* ExtremeOmnivore: Galacta; she lives on Earth, tries to leave the locals in peace, and eats alien invaders and bioweapons. It takes all her willpower to NOT eat the yummy Earth. [[spoiler: And it has gotten even worse since she became pregnant.]]
* GenderedOutfit: Galacta wears a gendered version of Galactus' armor.
* HorrorHunger: Gali has this just like her father, though it grows uncontrollable when she contracts the so-called Tapeworm Cosmic. She tries to make concessions for it, such as by restricting herself to only eating aliens and monsters, but this doesn't help much in the long run as it only feeds her urges.
* HumanityIsInfectious: Galacta could be like her father and devour everything in sight, but she has too much compassion for the humans she lives alongside.
* ImpossiblyLowNeckline: The Power Cosmic must be what keeps Gali from having a WardrobeMalfunction.
* IWantGrandkids: This might be one of the reasons Galactus [[spoiler:stops his estranged daughter Galacta's attempt to destroy the "Tapeworm Cosmic" (actually the larval form of Power Cosmic entities like Galactus and Galacta) near the end of her one-shot. He doesn't want her or his unborn grandkid to be destroyed.]]
* KirbyDots: Galacta [[http://twitter.com/#!/Gali_girl/status/1873418623 reveals offhandedly]] on her [[CharacterBlog Twitter account]] that mere humans [[YouCannotGraspTheTrueForm cannot perceive the Power Cosmic where it affects reality]] and blank it out in their minds. She further {{lampshade|Hanging}}s that some people call the visual result "Kirby Dots".
* LastOfHisKind: Subverted, as Galactus is revealed to have a daughter, the titular Galacta, created via [[TrulySingleParent spontaneous generation]], and [[spoiler: she's pregnant]] -- but this was later confirmed to be non-canonical.
* LeftHanging: [[spoiler:We haven't heard a peep from Galacta and her baby since the end of the comic, and [[CanonDiscontinuity Galactus has certainly never mentioned having a pregnant daughter on Earth in any of his major appearances since]]. {{Justified}}, as the story takes place in another universe.]]
* LooseCanon: For a long time, it was left ambiguous as to whether this comic was "canon" to Marvel's mainline Earth-616 continuity, though the author was adamant that it was. Eventually, Marvel confirmed that the story takes place in another reality, Earth-610102.
* MeatOVision: Galacta can't keep herself from calculating the caloric value of every living thing she sees when she's hungry.
* MoodWhiplash: The comic has a very light tone with vibrant, {{Animesque}} artwork, but things take a turn for the morbid when Galacta's HorrorHunger starts consuming her, almost driving her to suicide. [[spoiler:Then Galactus appears to give his daughter a new lease on life.]]
* MostCommonSuperpower: Predictably, Galacta has a big bust on display to distinguish herself as Galactus's DistaffCounterpart.
* MisterSeahorse: Galactus specifies that he was pregnant with Gali.
* PhysicalGod: Unlike Galactus, Galacta is closer to a typical Physical God in terms of power scale since she isn't quite as powerful as her father. [[spoiler:Her unborn child the Tapeworm Cosmic (no, really, again) will probably fit the bill, too.]]
* PlanetEater: Gali has the same cravings her dad has, and is ''capable'' of devouring planets, but she keeps this urge in check by working as a superhero, feeding on malevolent forces of energy (which would be destructive if left unchecked). In between those feedings, she spends a lot of time trying to control her insatiable hunger by eating bacteria, mostly because anything more filling and she might go on a feeding frenzy that would destroy the world. [[spoiler:However, she's pregnant, and her baby has the same cravings even now, while still in her womb.]]
* PregnantBadass: [[spoiler:Galacta]] currently qualifies, technically, although she isn't pregnant in the same way humans are. (It's similar, however.) When her hunger for life energy was increasing to the point that the temptation to consume the Earth became harder than ever to resist, she thought some evil parasite had infected her, and tried to steal the Ultimate Nullifier from her father's ship in an effort to purge it from her (even though the risk of destroying herself in the process was great). When ComicBook/{{Galactus}} stopped her from doing so, she found out that the "parasite" was actually a child she had conceived in [[TrulySingleParent the same method that he had conceived her.]] (She was, in effect, pregnant; the reason for her incredible hunger was simply, she had to eat for two.)
* PurpleIsPowerful: Like her father, Gali dresses in purple, and could grow to size and power comparable to her progenitor if she tried.
* RealityWarpingIsNotAToy: The comic posits that the X-Gene actually grants the same power to all mutants: reality warping. The problem is that most of them can't actually control it, so they unconsciously warp reality in different ways that manifest as their mutant powers.
* StupidSexyFlanders: Johnny Storm can't help commenting on Galacta's "hawt" body, despite her being the daughter of one of the Fantastic Four's deadliest enemies.
* TrulySingleParent: [[spoiler:Both Galactus and Galacta are capable of reproducing asexually. It is revealed that Galacta's hunger isn't being worsened by a parasite. She's just pregnant!]]
* WarmBloodbagsAreEverywhere: Gali resists her urge to eat humans despite her mind subconsciously telling her how much energy she'd get from everyone she sees.
