[[folder: The Clan as a whole]]
! Background Information
The newest clan to rise to the Council of Nine. The Vloz'ress was originally a small nether cult under the leadership of Kiel's mother Ven'ndia, but after her death Sene'kha formed alliances with the Sharen that allowed the Vloz'ress to take the seat left vacant after the collapse of the Val'Dutanvir. Besides the Sharen, they are the only clan who identify themselves as Vels instead of Vals due to their association with demonic magic. Despite their Val status, the Vloz'ress are the least liked clan in Chel, and living conditions among most members are second only to living on the street. "Houses" (more accurately described as gangs) within the clan are mostly defined as which nether summoner one serves under, and exactly who has the power among the summoners is constantly shifting.

* AlwaysChaoticEvil: Their reputation, though individual members sometimes avert this, and WordOfGod is that they [[http://www.drowtales.com/wordpress/?p=3943 deliberately play up looking evil]] as part of their battle tactics. The most correct bit is the "Always Chaotic" via the setting's BlueAndOrangeMorality. Chaos is their hat, the rest is subject to change. With or without notice.
* AnimalMotifs: Their clan mount is the [[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive//20060409c02p030.JPG snake]], and WordOfGod is that the large snakes they ride actually belonged to the Dutan'vir originally and were engineered by the Jaal'darya.
* ArmyOfThievesAndWhores: The Vloz'ress is the last stop for many of the most desperate people in Chel, and the life expectancy of their troops can be measured in ''weeks''. Given how many land here simply because they got tainted, this might not be the worst of possible outcomes, either.
* BedlamHouse: Essentially what their fortress is.
* BreakingTheFellowship: [[spoiler:The Vloz'ress clan disbands in the aftermath of Ni'bai's treachery]].
* ChronicBackstabbingDisorder: A prerequisite for anyone who wants to gain power in the clan.
* TheCoup: [[spoiler:With Kiel'ndia, Larvova, and Nyo'ka preoccupied, Ni'bai seizes control of Kharla'ggen and the Vlozz'ress fortress from right under their noses]].
* DarkIsNotEvil: Under Ven'ndia, they were [[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?sid=444 weird but harmless]], and despite being demon worshipers sought to learn from them rather than use them as weapons. Thoroughly averted once Sene'kha took over.
* DwindlingParty: In Chapter 41, [[spoiler:Kiel's group infiltrating the Beldrobbaen fortress gets gradually picked down after they make their escape. Kiel {{Lampshade}}s this and, as the protagonist, decides to be the one to make the last stand to put an end this trope, sending Vicyl and Fame away]].
* EldritchLocation: Invoked. Their fortress is intentionally designed to confuse people who enter it, including golems that [[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?sid=442 reached out and attack you]] as you enter.
* EvilIsVisceral: Their fortress definitely seems to play off this.
* TheFriendNobodyLikes: On a whole clan level the Vloz are this to the rest of Chel, only being a Great Clan by virtue of their partnership with the Sharen, and even the Sharen don't seem all that fond of them.
* MachiavelliWasWrong: The clan provides an interesting contrast to the Sarghress, who themselves were born out of the disparate, disenfranchised dregs of Chelian society and were united around one leader. Despite all her faults the Sarghress still ''respect'' Quain'tana and her ideals, while the Vloz'ress fear first Kharla'ggen and Sene'kha and later Kiel but remain internally fractured to the point that they do not have much political clout and everyone is essentially out for themselves. Kiel at least is attempting to change this with Baliir's influence, but still largely rules through fear of Kharla keeping the others in line.
* MaskPower: Everyone in the clan wears masks, likely playing off of Kharla's appearance, and WordOfGod is that they intentionally make themselves look scary. Also is handy on a few occasions when other characters, most notably [[spoiler:Chrys, Shinae and Nau]] in Chapter 44 are able to pass themselves off as Vloz'ress [[spoiler:at the Nidraa'chal gathering]] by donning masks and no one looks twice at them.
* MeaningfulRename: Kiel convinces Kharla to change the Vel prefix to Val as a matter of signalling her efforts to reform the clan, and likely as a middle finger to the Sharen.
* ObfuscatingStupidity: The Sharen under Zala'ess' command believe the reason behind the Volz'ress' crazy and dysfunctional behavior is so they can throw off enemy spies with deliberate misinformation.
* ThePurge: [[spoiler:Ni'bai eliminates Kharla'ggen's original servants to ensure she and her co-conspirators have full control over her]].
* [[UnwillingRoboticisation Unwilling Nagafication]]: The Corrupted. Formed from breedable snake-like biological weapons created by the Jaal'darya that clamps on to the lower body of an unfortunate drow and turns them into artificial nagas. Usually from any enemies that dared to attack the clan.
* RagtagBunchOfMisfits: Originally, and after becoming a "proper" Val clan they're the most internally disorganized of the nine Great Clans, and next to the Sarghress and Nal'Sarkoth are probably the most diverse clan in terms of race.
* RummageSaleReject: One of the signs that the Vloz are not the most affluent clan is that they have no clan uniform to speak of, and everyone's gear is scrounged from somewhere else, in some cases such as Finol and Korrin literally out of the trash. The only consistencies are color scheme, which can be done with a quick coat of paint, and use of masks, which are all custom made to the user.
* TheUnfavorite: ''Nobody'' likes the Vloz'ress, just check the [[http://wiki.drowtales.com/index.php/Clan_Relations clan relations chart]]. Even the Sharen, who were behind the Vloz's rise to power, only like them on the surface, everyone else either hates them or is neutral towards them.
* UnwittingPawn: It's stated several times that the Vloz are really nothing more than a pawn of the Sharen. After the {{Timeskip}}, this seems to have been lessened as Kiel has taken to openly opposing them. [[spoiler:Though she's not as free of their control as she thinks since she's still aiding Snadhya'rune's goals]].

[[folder: Kharla'ggen]]

!! Kharla'ggen Vel'Vloz'ress

* AnimalMotifs: Ducks are her associated animal. She has a duck-shaped alarm clock in her bedroom, she scarfs down boiled eggs with duck-shaped yolks for breakfast, and one of her favorite bath toys is a rubber duck.
* BigSisterInstinct: ''Seems'' to have developed one of these for Kiel'ndia. This is Kharla, though, so she still may turn on Kiel at any minute, just like she did to poor Ven'ndia, and [[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?order=chapters&id=1444 Larvova explicitly warns Kiel]] about this.
* BlueAndOrangeMorality: Kharla is so crazy that regular morality just doesn't apply to her.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: Crazy or not, cross Kharla and you ''will'' pay, as [[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?order=chapters&id=621 the Sharen sent to attack them found out the hard way.]]
* TheCaligula: Despite her better aspects, she's still this trope through and through. Because of her insanity, she was used as a figurehead for Senekha's faction, as well as a warning to the other clans what would happen if they crossed them.
* DidYouJustRomanceCthulhu: Any romantic relationship with Kharla would count by default, and in Chapter 46 [[spoiler:Khaless gives us the rare sight of one Cthulhu romancing another]].
* DidWeJustHaveTeaWithCthulhu: Any scene with her that doesn't end with someone getting dollified turns out like this. Bonus points for involving literal tea a couple times.
* TheEmpath: Several of her abilities appear to revolve around empathy.
* EnemyWithin: [[spoiler:After absorbing the demon god, it proves to be too much for even Kharla to control.]]
* TheFaceless: She's had her mask off or pushed up so she can eat or drink a few times since she was first shown receiving it in a flashback, but her face is always partially obscured by her hair, a convenient shadow that sometimes [[CensorShadow appears out of nowhere]] or [[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?sid=9488 partially off panel]]. Apparently she looks pretty normal without her mask, but this trope helps emphasize her unique nature.
** Her freakouts seem to be based around the fact that she is ''not'' this, yet according to Khaless the demon component of her ''is''.
* FanDisservice: Everything about her since she has a beautiful body that's shown off with low cut tops but is totally insane. And then there's chapter 46, which reveals [[spoiler:she slept with Khaless, a prime source of FanDisservice on her own]].
* GirlsLoveStuffedAnimals: She loves plushies, and her room is full of them.
* TheGlomp: [[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?order=chapters&id=1213 to Naal]], and yes, Kharla manages to make a ''glomp'' terrifying.
* GlowingEyesOfDoom: The [[RedEyesTakeWarning red eyes]] of the Tainted have a faint glow anyway, but it's especially pronounced with Kharla.
* GodivaHair: Demonstrated in Chapter 43.
* HappilyAdopted: She was this to Ven'ndia until Sene'kha manipulated things, and after the timeskip she and Kiel seem to have a functional sisterly relationship.
* HumanoidAbomination: Even among the tainted Kharla is unique, hence Sene'kha's plans to use her in her plan to take over Chel.
* IAmLegion: It's heavily implied that she has multiple people in her head, and thus refers to herself as "we", and not in the RoyalWe sense. Kiel even comments that it means that [[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?order=chapters&id=1237 Kharla's probably never felt alone.]] [[spoiler:It isn't until her final moments that she uses the word "I".]]
* InsaneEqualsViolent: Subverted; despite her insanity Kharla only seems to be violent when provoked, and she usually has to be goaded into it.
* LivingDollCollector: She provides the page image.
* MaskPower: Sort of, since the mask was actually to keep her from chewing her own fingers.
* MindHive: Her aura is very unique, and is effectively a veritable nether realm in and of itself. Many ancient, extremely powerful demons have been trapped in her aura, each contributing to her power, and very likely making her the WorldsStrongestWoman. As a result of having so many demons in her being, she refers to herself as "[[IAmLegion we]]". Sene'kha's plan revolved around [[spoiler:using this to trap a demon god in her aura, which would have made her so powerful, that Sene'kha would be able to blackmail all the clans into disbanding and setting up a democratic state]].
* NavelDeepNeckline: Her robes usually have a long "V" cut that reveal part of her boobs and her navel.
* NotTooDeadToSaveTheDay: In chapter 47 [[spoiler:enough of her consciousness remains in her turtle summon, even as she's falling into the rift, to reach out and grab Nau'kheol before he and Kiel fall too]]
* ObliviouslyEvil: It's been hinted that she doesn't have the mental capacity to understand the full extent of what she's doing. Notably, Kiel doesn't blame her for what happened to her mother, while she does blame Sene'kha.
* PeoplePuppets: She can manipulate peoples' limbs with threads of {{Mana}} without necessarily using PuppetPermutation. As [[spoiler:Kalki finds out when she tries to punch Sara'hilana for damaging her "toys"]].
* PuppetQueen: But not if Kiel has anything to say about it...
** And played with after the timeskip. It's fairly obvious that while Kiel essentially runs things Kharla still acts as a figurehead/way to dispose of troublesome people (as [[spoiler:Maki]] found out firsthand) but it seems to be more that Kharla doesn't have any interest in the clan's day to day affairs.
* PowersViaPossession: Her incredible power is derived from her ability to trap demons in her own [[OurSoulsAreDifferent aura]].
%%zce* PuppetPermutation: Her specialty.
* PsychopathicManchild: For some, the childish traits she shows just make her ''more'' terrifying, while for others, her playing with a rubber duck while bathing to be absolutely adorable. And the extent she's actually psychopathic is debateable, since it seems that a lot of her actions were just her doing as Sene'kha told her to.
* RageAgainstTheReflection: The first time she saw her face in a mirror, she had a FreakOut and tried to tear her own face off. Her mask is the only thing that keeps her calm.
* SelfMadeOrphan: The Char sidestory strongly implies that she dollified her parents, though it's left ambiguous as to whether this was an accident or if they did something to provoke her. And then there's what she did to Ven'ndia, who was effectively her adopted mother, though it was also implied that Senekha saw Ven'ndia as an obstacle to her plans and convinced Kharla to dollify her.
* ShoutOut: Possibly, since her hairstyle and mask make her resemble [[Anime/TenchiMuyo Washuu.]]
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: [[http://drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?sid=9486 Tea and boiled eggs with duck-shaped yolks]].
* TheFourthWallWillNotProtectYou: [[http://drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?sid=9486 Her first appearance in Chapter 43]] has her suddenly leap out of bed, completely nude but for her mask and GodivaHair, and start chasing the rapidly-retreating camera until she catches [[AudienceSurrogate us.]]
* WorldsStrongestWoman: While unconfirmed, she is ''very'' likely to be this and easily has the potential. Her aura is massive and ever growing, thanks to all the demons trapped in it. She was able to single handedly power a summon that should have required 12 summoners at a minimum, each at least a century old. She does have her limits, though. During the gang's escape from Felde, Kharla collapsed from hunger due to Kiel [[DidntThinkThisThrough not bringing enough food for the return trip]], depowering their turtle summon and leaving everyone stranded in the middle of nowhere. After [[spoiler:Ni'bai finally enacts Sene'kha's plot to summon a demon god for Kharla to devour, she almost certainly becomes this]].

[[folder: Kiel'ndia]]

!! Kiel'ndia Vel'Vloz'ress

The only surviving child of Ven'ndia, Sene'kha used her as a "sister" for Kharla'ggen. After Sene'kha's death, Kiel manages to take back control of the clan. [[spoiler:As Khaless reveals after the {{Timeskip}}, Kiel has merged with her seed. But rather than the demon becoming her, she has become the demon and retained her identity.]] [[http://www.drowtales.com/wordpress/?p=5623 Link]] to profile art.

* AbhorrentAdmirer: To Nau'kheol, though when pressed [[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive/20130918c44p013_KSRFsyFyze.jpg he claims to already be taken by her]], apparently considering that preferable to being used as a BabyFactory to help his mother's alliances. At the end of Chapter 46 he seems to have [[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?sid=10343 decided]] a relationship wouldn't be so bad.
* AnimalMotifs: Turtles, due to her statement that the Netheworld is "[[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?sid=5254 turtles all the way to infinity]]".
* [[AtomicFBomb Atomic S-Bomb]]: Drops this when she realizes she forgot to feed Demon!Naal during her trip to Felde.
* BigNo: [[spoiler:Upon seeing Naal get stabbed]].
* BodyHorror: Due to the influence of a massive nethergate, [[spoiler:she mutates into a full demon and her body grows horns and extra eyes.]]
* BreakTheCutie: She's undoubtedly gone through this, between watching her mother get turned into a puppet, whatever else she's seen in the Vloz'ress, [[spoiler:seeing her best friend taken over by her seed]] and [[spoiler:being poisoned]].
* BreakingTheFourthWall: Her habit of talking to her "imaginary friend" who just happens to be in the same place as the reader is seen by the other characters as a symptom of madness.
** Later manifests as a TearJerker after [[spoiler:Naal's death]] when she tells the "audience" to [[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?sid=7178 leave her alone]] and ''[[TakeThatAudience throws a belt at them]].''
*** Don't link to it. What part of leaving her alone don't you understand?
** By the TimeSkip, she apparently even has ''actual knowledge'' from ''beyond the fourth wall'' and her "imaginary friend" has gone from being the point-of-view of the panel to a swarm of black demons that follow her around.
* CerebusRetcon: Kiel's habit of addressing the fourth wall was originally just something the author [[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?sid=437 thought would be interesting]], but then after the timeskip it's been revealed that it's actually because [[spoiler:her seed is a human-like demon]] and far more serious.
* TheChessmaster: One in training.
* AChildShallLeadThem: After [[spoiler:Sene'kha's death]] she begins taking over the clan, and by the time of the timeskip seems to have more or less succeeded, at least as much as one can with a group like the Vloz'ress.
* CloudCuckooLander: 'Cuckoolander' barely even begins to describe all the crazy stuff that floats through her head.
** TheCloudcuckoolanderWasRight: It seems she really was right about [[spoiler:there still being something left of Naal in Demon!Naal]] and she correctly realizes that she's actually in a comic/
* ComedicShotacon: [[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?sid=7721 Played for laughs]], but not as squicky as some examples since it's more innocent than anything and they're not too far apart in age.
* CuteLittleFangs: Often displays these during her more mischievous moments.
* DespairEventHorizon: [[spoiler:Naal's seed taking her over]] nearly causes her to cross it, to the point that [[spoiler:[[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?sid=7811 she's willing to let Demon!Naal eat her]], but luckily there's enough of Naal's mind left that she pushes Kiel out instead]].
* DidntThinkThisThrough: Kiel was so occupied with helping everyone flee from Felde that she forgot to restock for the return trip. So when Kharla, the group's "pilot", collapses from hunger, everyone is left stranded in the middle of nowhere. If Kuso hadn't thought to salvage food from Felde, they'd all probably starve to death if the cold didn't do them in first.
* EmergencyTransformation: [[spoiler:Subverted, it was AllJustADream, much to fans' relief]].
* EvenBadMenLoveTheirMamas: The "bad" is up for debate since she's one of the more decent Vloz'ress, but she certainly loved her mother and was devastated by what happened to her.
* ExoticEyeDesigns: After the timeskip, she displays [[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?sid=8715 the same sort]] [[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?sid=8878 of white spiral]] in her eyes as Sha'sana on several occasions, which most likely represents [[spoiler:how she's merged with her seed completely]].
* FakingTheDead: In Chapter 41, [[spoiler:Nau'kheol and Chrys'tel help her throw Nir'naya off her trail thanks to Chrys'tel's blood sorcery making it look like they killed her]].
* FiveStagesOfGrief: Immediately after [[spoiler:[[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?sid=7134 Naal's horrific demise]]]] she shows classic signs of stage 1, denial.
** Now seems to be [[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?sid=7178 quite fully into stage 2, anger]], and later seems to go right to 4, despair. Although the bargaining part may have been already dealt with her refusal of Senekha's offer.
* FlippingTheBird: Gives [[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?sid=8878 both barrels at once]] to Khaless.
* FoeRomanceSubtext: Has a lot of interaction with Chirinide outside of regular story context, but still more or less canon. Her fight with Chirinide [[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?sid=687 also involved a kiss]].
* ForgotToFeedTheMonster: Realizes with an OhCrap that she forget to feed [[spoiler:Demon!Naal]] while in Felde, and immediately rushes off to fix this. This sets off a chain of events that indirectly [[spoiler:saves the day, as this resulted in Demon!Naal breaking out and ultimately being present to try and devour Kharla just as Kiel was about to be possessed]].
* HarmfulToMinors: Seeing her mother get dollified seems to only have been the tip of the iceberg as far as what she's experienced. She's also tellingly referred to as Ven'ndia's only ''surviving'' daughter, implying that she's also lost siblings to the violence in her clan.
* HearingVoices: A side effect of being tainted [[spoiler:and experiencing a SplitPersonalityMerge with a human-like demon. The voices she hears are actually the fragments of the demon's personality]].
* HeroicSacrifice: [[spoiler: Kiel practically pulls one after allowing her soul to be sucked into a nethergate opened by Snadhya'rune to destroy Chel. She gets pulled into TheVoidBetweenWorlds and gets trapped there when the gate closes and prevents her from coming back to her world. And even if she found a way back, her body would have been destroyed by the tower's explosion]]
* HostileShowTakeover: She once took over the Drowtales Website/{{Twitter}} account and promptly demanded a tribute of princes, though she'd also accept princesses.
** She also has her own [[https://www.facebook.com/pages/Kielndia/285470288214658 Facebook account]] now.
** At various times she's also taken over several of the other site archives, including rampaging through Slavemaster collecting princes and princesses and taking over the Relic Hunter archive to have them search for Kharla's ducky.
* HumiliationConga: She puts Chiri through one of these in the "[[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?sid=8869 Netherworld TV]]" series of flash animations, which are shown to have taken place before the events of chapter 41 and emboldened her to carry out later events.
* IdentityAmnesia: [[spoiler:In the final chapter, the massive amount of nether mana flowing from Snadhya'rune's nether gate causes her to mutate into a full demon. While she retains her sapience and mannerisms, and has a vague notion she left something important behind somewhere, she pretty much forgets her previous life.]]
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: She's not always the nicest person, but if she counts you as a friend or a member of her "crew" she'll do anything in her power to help and protect you, even if it involves going head to head with someone like Kalki or risking the wrath of Snadhya'rune to break you out of prison.
* KidHero: Played straight and then horribly deconstructed when [[spoiler:she almost gets killed by poisoning, has a nightmare where she gets a doll body and Larvova scolds her to emphasize how stupid it is to try to do it all on her own]].
* TheLadette: Despite being only 24, or physically 12 by human standards, she fits this among the other female characters in terms of personality. After the timeskip even more so.
* LampshadeHanging: In Chapter 32 she breaks the fourth wall and [[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?sid=7803 addresses]] how reckless [[spoiler:opening the morgue where Demon!Naal is trapped]] is.
* LeeroyJenkins: She is strongly motivated by her emotions and ''very rarely'' considers the long-term consequences of her actions. This is clearly a double-edged sword for her. On the one hand, she has found and exploited some prime opportunities that a more conservative drow would have clearly missed, like wrestling control of the Vloz'rez away from Sene'kha's faction, and showing all of Chel that the Sharen were lying about Diva. On the other, she often finds herself in way, way over hear head either requiring rescue, or taking massive losses during her escape attempt.
* TheLostLenore: [[spoiler:Naal'suul]] becomes something like this to her, with the twist that the "Lenore" is not technically dead.
* LovableSexManiac: [[https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/20100504c24p002_6794.jpg "Princes, I tell you. Lots of them. Just. Waiting. For. Me!"]]
** She's already claimed [[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?sid=7019 Nau'kheol]].
** And [[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?sid=7718 Chrys'tel]].
* MediumAwareness: Seems aware that she's in a comic, and the final Ask Kiel page says that she'll be showing up in the story proper on September 4th, and then in the comic itself makes a reference to Daydream, another section of the website.
* MessyHair: Not immediately obvious, but just compare her hair when it's down [[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?sid=6781 here]] to when Naal [[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?sid=6971 manages to brush it out]] at the cost of her hairbrushes. Not washing it for a long time will do that.
* {{Mooning}}: Shown [[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?sid=9815 doing this to Snadhya'rune]] in a chibi page for Chapter 44. WordOfGod indicates that it was originally supposed to happen in the actual chapter, but he changed his mind since it would have broken the mood, but it stayed on as a chibi since Kiel totally would have done it.
* MoralMyopia: This is one of Kiel's more pronounced character flaws, since as long as the people she personally cares about are safe she doesn't particularly mind what happens to the rest of the world, something Baliir [[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?sid=10670 calls her out on]] when [[spoiler:Kharla's demon-God possession puts the entirety of Chel, if not the world, at risk]].
* NotMeThisTime: Chiri of all people comes to this conclusion when she hears it theorized that Kiel [[spoiler:killed Shimi'lande]], since while it does fit Kiels' M.O. she thinks certain things do not match up. Kiel herself also [[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?sid=9448 insists]] she didn't do it when Chrys'tel refers to her as doing it, but she's ignored.
* OhCrap: [[spoiler:Her response to learning that Khaless introduced Kharla'ggen to ''sex'', meaning that childhood games will no longer be enough to keep her occupied]].
** [[spoiler:She almost says this word-for-word once she realizes she forgot to feed Demon!Naal while she was away at Felde with her friends.]]
* OddFriendship: With Naal, since they are from the newest clan to Chel and one of the oldest respectively, and Naal comes from wealth and privilege while Kiel comes from the opposite, even after the Vloz'ress rise to Val-hood.
* OfficialCouple: After being his AbhorrentAdmirer for a good chunk of the story, Nau accepted being her mate at the end of Chapter 46 and eventually had a child with her in the three year timeskip. [[spoiler: However, as of the last chapter of the series, she is now stuck VoidBetweenTheWorlds and is now cut off from the rest of the world, which means they will never see each other again.]]
* OmnicidalNeutral: Her solution for the District War, inspired by Baliir. She hates the Sarghress and Kyrol, but also hates Sarv'swati's faction of the Sharen almost as much. The only major side she likes is Zala'ess's faction of the Sharen. She aims to murder Quain'tana, Sil'lice, Shimi'lande, Sarv'swati, and the [[spoiler:false]] empress, believing this will end the war. But in practice, the only one of those people she succeeds in assassinating [[spoiler:unintentionally aids the Sarghress and hurts the Sharen]].
* ThePigpen: More of an InformedFlaw than anything, but [[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?sid=6971 references]] have been made about Kiel's personal hygiene not being the best, to the point that when she does put the effort in it shows, see SheCleansUpNicely.
* PlayingWithFire: It isn't her elemental affinity, but she is able to manipulate it thanks to the foci embedded in her gauntlets.
* PowersViaPossession: Some of Kiel'ndia's unique abilities seem to have something to do with the demon she was tainted with.
* RefugeInAudacity: Her strategy for entering Beldrobbaen territory [[spoiler:to assassinate Diva's body double]] is to [[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?sid=9145 brazenly ride up in a turtle tank while making small talk with the sniper and guards patrolling]]. 150** It's also stated that one reason she likes Nau'kheol is that [[spoiler:[[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?sid=7721 he reminds her of Naal]].]]
* TheScapegoat: She ''was'' planning to eventually murder [[spoiler:Shimi'lande on Snadhya'rune's behalf, but she never actually gets the chance. A different assassin does the deed while disguised as her, successfully fooling the Kyorl and nearly sending the Order of the Twin Eyes on a SnipeHunt]]. Ironically Chirinide seems to be the one person who doubts the official version of events despite their history together.
* ScarsAreForever: Certain pieces of NSFW art have shown that the scarring on her chest from [[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?sid=7377 the poisoning incident]] remain even after the timeskip.
* SheCleansUpNicely: Courtesy of Naal, and later [[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?sid=9544 when she gets a new outfit]] her hair gets brushed out.
* SplitPersonalityMerge: Over the timeskip, she safely merges with her demon seed, giving her PowersViaPossession and causing her eyes to have a swirl pattern.
* SymbioticPossession: An even stronger case compared to many others considering that she and her demons actively cooperate with each other instead of just merely coexisting.
* StaringDownCthulhu: [[spoiler:She more or less confronts a demon god, and WordOfGod suggests that it may well be intimidated by the fact that she is unafraid]].
* TakeThatAudience: Mentions that a couple of the voices in her head want her to "[[LesYay get it on with [Khaless], ]]but hey, [[BSideComics they're]] [[FanService Daydreamers]]".

* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: The tomboy to Naal's girly-girl, and to a lesser extent with Kharla, who tends to wear more feminine clothing that Kiel.
* TookALevelInJerkass: In her [[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?sid=8715 first appearance]] after the 15 year timeskip [[spoiler:she orders Shoki and Baliir to break Maki's arm, and it's implied that she'd been torturing or at the very least threatening the other members of Maki's gang. This more ruthless side of her had been hinted at before, especially with her response to the attempt on her life where she nearly killed Nyo'ka, but it was still a shock to most fans. She also flat out refers to herself as a tyrant when talking to Baliir]].
** Played with later when talking to Fame,[[spoiler: she keeps up the Tyrant act, then when her minions are out of ear shot greets her cousin slightly more warmly, and hints half the time she's putting on an act.]] Then threatens her again.
* TraumaCongaLine: Chapter 27 has [[spoiler:Naal's death]] and then Chapter 28 has [[spoiler:her break down because of Naal's death, then be poisoned and have a nightmare where her body has become a doll and only live because one of her rivals was forced to save her life by Kharla, and then she's reminded of her own mother when she bursts in to kill Nyo'ka and sees her kids, and then break down ''again'']].
** Chapter 47 does this to her again [[spoiler:leaving her without Kharla, Naal (again), her clan's fortress, and ultimately the end of the Vloz'ress itself as a clan]]. But at least she has Nau.
* TrollingTranslator: [[spoiler:Naal is reduced to an incorporeal demon, limiting her to communicating via demon {{Telepathy}}, which normal Drow cannot hear. Ironically, Nau'kheol disbelieves her when she says Naal called him cute, at a time when Naal actually did]].
* UnwittingPawn: Not entirely so, but [[spoiler:when Kiel assassinates the false empress with Khaless's help, it is unlikely that she fully understands just how insidious Snadhya'rune's plans are. In fact, Khaless offers to let Kiel be a proxy in assassinating quite a few major figures, which would greatly help Snadhya'rune's efforts to create a power vacuum]].
* WeirdnessCoupon: A lot of her strange behavior in-universe is dismissed this way, ither with "It's Kiel" or "Well she is a Vloz'ress".
* WellIntentionedExtremist: After the timeskip she winds up parroting some of what Balirr's said about the clan system, and WordOfGod is that she's not consciously aware of it but has been around him enough that it's rubbed off.
* WildCard: Post-timeskip, she seems to be one of those to the Sharen Sarghress War. While she likes Zala'ess, she opposes the Sharen as a whole, but hates the Sarghress as well. Her actions, like [[spoiler:assassinating Diva'ratrika's body double]] are [[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?sid=9127 described]] [[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?sid=9142 by her]] as her attempt to throw a wrench into the entire status quo. She hopes to assassinate Quain'tana next.
** Also hinted at on [[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?sid=9442 the cover of chapter 43]], where Kiel is the only member of the cast pictured who's ''holding'' the rope connecting them rather than being tied to it, suggesting she could break away from the others with relative ease if she wished.
* WolverinePublicity: Gets a certain amount of this since the start of Arc 2. Besides now being one of the "face" characters in the RotatingArcs, she's also shown up in most of the other site's archives including the Relic Hunter games and Slavemaster.
* WrongContextMagic: Her ability to see, hear, and even manifest the readers as demons is the only known case of this ability in the setting. Sha'sana, a master summoner, is utterly perplexed at how she and her demons work. WordOfGod outright states that he is never going to completely explain it.

* GroinAttack: He tries this on Ariel, and when he finds [[CrotchGrabSexCheck there's nothing to grab]] he figures out that she's female.
* HeManWomanHater: He's definitely this, even telling Ariel after he finds out her gender that [[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?sid=510 "I thought you were a freak, but you're worse, you're female!"]], but it was never explained why. In fact when he [[spoiler: stabs Ariel]] he can be seen happily murmuring that [[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?sid=811 "there will be one less female in the world"]] as he makes his getaway. Might have something to do with his experience with the Vloz'ress nether summoners, all of whom are female and prone to ChronicBackstabbingDisorder.
* {{Jerkass}}: His first words are complaining that he doesn't want to be in a class with a bunch of "girly freaks" and he gets progressively more jerkish, attempting to kill Ariel and later attacking her when they're on the same team.

After the TimeSkip, he becomes Kiel's chief administrator and overall number two who seems to run the day-to-day operations of the clan.

* TheBigGuy: As is the norm for most berserkers, and his build in general can best be compared to a gorilla since he initially walked on his knuckles.

* DistaffCounterpart: This appears to be the case with him and Khaless, though its unknown how their respective power levels match up.
* FacialMarkings: He is noticeably tattooed all over his upper body.
* FluffyTamer: Was visibly sympathetic to Discordia whilst the latter was being captured, stroking her arm and referring to her as "a poor thing", while the other characters just comment on how easy it was to capture the shard. He also attempts to reason with her in Chapter 12.
* HiddenAgendaVillain: It is too early to tell if he is a ''villain'', but as of yet readers know nothing about his true motives or why he is helping Ni'bai beyond ending the world as it is.
* KilledOffForReal: [[spoiler:Sara'hilana tosses Umpus through a nether gate. Nether gates are effectively portals for mana, but not physical objects, and as such, this effectively causes PortalCut, causing the demon to be ripped from his host body. WordOfGod says this results in his death, and his aura is seen to get devoured by a demon god]].
* TattooedCrook: As seen above, he is covered in body markings.

[[folder:Maki]]

!! Maki Vloz'ress ([[spoiler: nee Sarghress]])

A fire-wielding Vloz'ress who first appears in Chapter 38 attacking the North Cliff district. [[spoiler:She is in fact a former Sarghress]].

* AnArmAndALeg: Downplayed. She had an arm broken for insubordination against Kiel, telling the latter "it's none of your business" when asked about her squad, ''and then was handed off to Kharla as a toy'' being laid out in one punch when Kiel caught her trying to escape.
* AssholeVictim: She doesn't have ''anyone'' to blame but herself for everything that happens to her in the aftermath of her actions in chapter 38.
* DirtyCop: Her backstory, [[spoiler:since under Syphile's management she was apparently allowed to do whatever she wanted, but once Ariel took over she was demoted]].
* FallenHero: At the end of Chapter 38, [[spoiler:we see that her squad helped defend the district in the Nidraa'chal War. WordOfGod is that Maki and her squad's fall from grace came from taking too many bribes until their reputation was soiled to the eyes of their peers within the Sarghress and the commoners they were supposed to protect]].
* FateWorseThanDeath: [[spoiler: As punishment for attacking a district without Kiel's permission, she is given to Kharla as a new toy]].
* FemaleMisogynist: For some reason she does not like other females, as she points out when she reveals that she knows her "Scourge" is really Ariel in disguise because she doesn't recruit females.
* PlayingWithFire: Her specialty.
* PyroManiac
* RoaringRampageOfRevenge: Combined with RevengeBeforeReason. The stated reason why she attacked North Cliff and attempted to kill ''everybody'' with a Nether gate is that Ariel wasn't "playing the game" by turning a blind eye to her corruption and bribery like Syphille did. Maki took a crossbow bolt to the shoulder when she proclaimed that the commoners would all suffer from BystanderSyndrome, and ''then'' the commoners decided to ZergRush her and her squad of scourges.
* ShadowArchetype: Her gang is one of these to Ariel's squad, and Maki seems to be one for Ariel herself, [[spoiler:in addition to being a former Sarghress]].
* ShutUpHannibal: She has this pulled on her by [[spoiler:a BadassBystander with a crossbow]].

[[folder:Fame'nidea*]]
!! Fame'nidea*[[note]]Created by Miburo[[/note]]
A rather eccentric Vloz and Kiel's cousin, first seen in Chapter 39. She has reappeared consistently throughout the story in Chapters 41, 43, 44, 46, and 47. Her concept art can be found [[http://www.drowtales.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/20120618Famenidea-small.jpg here]], [[http://www.drowtales.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/fameoutfit1.png here]], and [[http://www.drowtales.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/Ch47_Fame.png here]].

* AnimalMotifs: Goats. Especially demon goats.
* CloudCuckoolander
* GirlishPigtails
* LargeHam: Considering who she's related to and the fact that she wants to be a rockstar, this should be no surprise.
* LongLostRelative: She's actually Kiel's cousin and one of the few survivors of Sene'kha's purge of the original Vloz'ress under Ven'nedia.
* MeaningfulName: Her name is ''Fame'' and she wants to be a rockstar, [[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?sid=8862 lampshaded by Kiel]].
* TheRemnant: One of the few survivors of the original Vloz'ress.
* ScarsAreForever: Has a large burn scar on her forehead, most likely caused by a Kyorl.
* ShipperOnDeck: Fully supports Kiel and Nau's budding relationship.
* StrongFamilyResemblance: The reason why the LongLostRelative reveal wasn't too much of a surprise.
* SweetTooth: She ''loves'' ice cream.
* UnknownRival: To Kyo'nne, [[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?sid=9748 to her dismay]].
* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: When first seen in the main story, she's been leaving a trail of badly-closed nether gates across the Vloz district. It got at least one person killed before Kiel intervened. All this just so she could find a nether goat for her show.
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: She [[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?sid=9225 really does not like fire]], and considering she has what appears to be Kyorl branding on her forehead along with [[KillItWithFire the Kyorl's usual SOP]] you can guess where it comes from.

[[/folder]]

[[folder:Tsuris'lok*]]
!! Tsuris'lok*[[note]]Created by Tsuris[[/note]]
A scourge first introduced working for Maki in Chapter 38, he now works for Kiel'ndia as one of her personal meatshields, err, bodyguards. He was once a member of the Dutan'vir clan, but his paranoid mother suspected him of plotting against her and had him cast out prior to the Nidraa'chal War.

* AbusiveParents: According to his character info, his mother was one of these; having him scarred and having him cast out of the Dutan'vir to get back at his father Cas'nihlus, whom she suspected of plotting against her.
* ButtMonkey: He himself recounts having been kicked out of so many clans he doesn't even seem to know where to go next.
* CloudCuckooLander: Due to being driven insane by his taint and inability to control his empathy, he tends to be very detached and quirky. Also tends to hallucinate seeing a talking stag-wolf demon.
* TheEmpath: Albeit a very bad one, seeing as how his inability to control his powers lead to his insanity.
* FateWorseThanDeath: [[spoiler: In his LastStand in Chapter 41, he is taken over by his seed and is now a demon. How much of his personality remains is unknown to the audience.]]
* HeroicRROD: In Chapter 41 [[spoiler:he gets badly injured in the escape from the Beldrobbaen fortress that his seed starts to take him over, and he stays behind for a LastStand against the Beldrobbaen troops]].
* InTheBlood: In Chapter 42 we meet [[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?sid=9325 his father Cas'nihlus]], who is also an empath and thus readers find out that not all of Tsuris'lok's insanity was because of the tainting.
* PerpetualFrowner: Even without the scars that make him look like he's constantly scowling this seems to be his default expression.
* ScarsAreForever: Has a collection of cheek scars, which were apparently given to him [[CainAndAbel by his brother]] [[AbusiveParents at the orders of his mother]]. No wonder he's so screwed up.
* SlasherSmile: The only times we've seen him smile in the comic, it was one of these.
* TheUnfavorite: Was this to his mother.

!!Cac'bolg*[[note]]Created by [=MEK1724=][[/note]]

Originally one of Maki's scourges, but now working for Kiel'ndia. First appearing in Chapter 38, he reappears in Chapters 39, 41, 43, and 47. His concept art can be found [[http://www.drowtales.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/20120627Cacbolg-news.jpg here]].

* ButtMonkey: After Maki's caught, he gets assigned to be Kiel's food taster in case of poison for his role in her activities, which is [[ProperlyParanoid rather practical]] on her part given what nearly happened to her pre-{{TimeSkip}}. Understandably, he has passed this duty onto rats. As of Chapter 39, he's on on [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin NotDeadRat #3]].
* TheDogBitesBack: After Maki's fall, he had to put up with constant abuse from Kiel. He ends up [[spoiler: aiding Ni'bai in her plot to weaponize Kharla with the power of a demon god]].
* IAmAHumanitarian: At one point he's shown with what's probably another drow's finger [[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?sid=8605 casually hanging out of his mouth]]. According to his creator he used to be a butcher and developed a taste for drow flesh.
* MadEye: One of his irises is noticeably larger than the other.
* TheMole: [[spoiler:His true loyalties are not to Kiel, but Ni'bai]].
* PunishmentDetail: As mentioned above, one of his many duties is to test Kiel's food for poison. However, he also is stuck cleaning floors, doing heavy lifting, and generally is kept on hand for any miserable tasks Kiel can think of.
* TheStoner: Uses poisons to clean the floors and enjoys the high from the fumes.

!!Vicyl*[[note]]Created by Catriana[[/note]]

A former Sarghress and scourge of Maki. He gets recruited into Kiel's gang after Maki gets delivered to Kharla as a new toy. Appears in chapters 39, 41, and 47. His concept art can be found [[http://www.drowtales.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/Ch47_Vicyl.png here]].

* NotNowKiddo: He warns everyone that something deeply suspicious is going on in the old Vloz'ress tower. But even though his concerns are well founded, no one takes him seriously since they always expect unusual behavior from the CloudCuckooland that is the Vloz'ress Clan and Cac'bolg deliberately undermines him.
* OnlySaneMan: He's pretty neurotic, but he is also fairly rational. As a result, he tends to complain a lot about his comrades' crazy behavior.
* ScarsAreForever
* TokenMinority: Is a drowussu in a clan mostly composed of drowolath.
* TragicKeepsake: He kept Tsuris'lok's mask after [[spoiler: he fell during the mission to assassinate the fake Diva'ratrika]].

!!Naal'ga
A Corrupted formed from a young girl who has a resemblance to Naal'suul. Shows some emotions beyond the regular drone-like obedience of the Corrupted.

* MauveShirt: A step-up from the other artificial nagas and is dressed more nicely than the others.
* PersonalMook: She appears to be Kiel's personal Corrupted and grew older alongside her.
* ReplacementGoldfish: To Naal'suul for a time after Kiel thought she was lost.
* SpearCarrier: Literally and role-wise. Usually shows up as an aide for Baliir or Kiel.

!! Nimiel*[[note]]Created by Negamalice[[/note]]
Nimiel Vloz'ress (nee Val'Beldrobbaen) is the replacement caretaker for Kharla'ggen after the death of Nainai, as of Chapter 39. More information can be found [[http://www.drowtales.com/wordpress/?p=4561 here]].

* AnimalMotifs: Spiders. Unsurprising, given her former clan.
* AntiquatedLinguistics: One sign of her former Val status is when she tells Kiel that [[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?sid=8836 "the mistress is most wroth"]] and Kiel doesn't understand what she means.
* TheCaretaker: Fills this role for Kharla as her nurse after Nainai's death, but unlike Nainai she seems genuinely terrified of her charge.
* DefectorFromDecadence: Is a former Beldrobbaen.
* OhCrap: Manages to emote this [[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?sid=8843 through her mask]] when Kiel suggests that she dress up as a {{Meido}}. Made even funnier by the WideEyesAndShrunkenIrises and one ear visibly drooping.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: In Chaper 43, Kharla'ggen apparently has a new caretaker. Given the circumstances, it's possible that Nimiel may have been [[BusCrash killed/dollified by the Ill'haress at some point]].

!! Elbinac*[[note]]Created by Strossus[[/note]]
One of Kiel's scourges, seen accompanying her to the Beldrobbaen fortress to assassinate the false Diva'ratrika during Chapater 41.

* DieLaughing
* KilledOffForReal: Falls to his death off a lift.
* LightEmUp: Possesses a light affinity.
* TakingYouWithMe: He dies tackling Kail'odian off the lift so the rest of Kiel's group can escape.

!! Jysmur*[[note]]Created by [=GEM76=][[/note]]

One of Kar'liir's assistants, she accompanies Kiel in the turtle tank. First appearing in Chapter 41, she reappears in Chapter 43 and 47. Her concept art can be found [[http://www.drowtales.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/jysmur.jpg here]].

* AxCrazy: Even by Vloz standards, she's a nutjob.
* BizarreTasteInFood: According to the author Jysmur actually eats garbage. Which does explain why she is such a {{Gasshole}} and why [[{{Fartillery}} her farts are so stinky]].
* {{Fartillery}}: She managed to [[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?sid=9221 escape capture]] by the Beldrobbaen by breaking wind to discourage her attackers and making them think she was about to detonate the golem core.
* {{Gasshole}}: Having ''terrible'' gas is listed as one of her talents. She even weaponises this in Chapter 41!
* GeniusDitz: Possibly. She's an engineering assistant, but her speciality is "breaking things".
* TheHyena: Virtually all of her dialog is her laughing.
* WildChild: She is best described as a feral child.
* WolverineClaws: She carries a clawed gauntlet as her preferred weapon.

!! Koana Vloz'ress*[[note]]Created by Moatl[[/note]]

* TheBigGuy: As expected for a berseker.
* GeniusBruiser
* GentleGiant: He's a berserker, with all the brute strength that entails. He also teaches math to Vloz children.
* IfMyCalculationsAreCorrect: Spoken verbatim.

!! Kor'rin*[[note]]Created by Partner555[[/note]]
A Soulseeker in the employ of Kiel'ndia, he really likes snakes. Appears in Chapter 43. His concept art can be found [[http://www.drowtales.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/Korrin.jpg here]].

* AnimalMotifs: Likes snakes, has a snake tattoo and a pet snake named Saliva.
* TheDarkArts: Males are incapable of using true nether summoning. But, as a Soulseeker, he's as close as it gets.
* DualWielding: Uses a sword in one hand and an axe in the other.
* FacialMarkings: Has a number of tattoos on his face and jaw.
* LeadDrummer: Serves as this for Fame, during Chapter 43. He think it's lame, but plays along for the [[SoBadItsGood fun of it]].
* RummageSaleReject: His armor is a salvaged Sharen armour, that once belonged to a female. Vloz'ress don't get to be picky.
* ScarsAreForever: Has a prominent scar over his blind eye.

!! Vren*[[note]]Created by Shrg[[/note]]

A former Beldrobbaen soldier, and Kharla'ggen's latest caretaker as of Chapter 43. Reappears in Chapter 47. His concept art can be found [[http://www.drowtales.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/Vren2.jpg here]].

* AnArmAndALeg: He lost both his legs in a past battle, and the Vloz'ress gave him a set of golem prosthetics.
* ArtificialLimbs
* BeleagueredAssistant
* TheCaretaker: Established in his first appearance, when he enters Kharla's bedroom with a tray of tea and deviled eggs cut in the shape of duckies.
* FunnyBackgroundEvent: While Kharla is busy [[TheFourthWallWillNotProtectYou chasing the camera]], Vren is trying to keep from dropping his breakfast tray.
* TheMole: His true loyalties are not to Kiel, but [[spoiler:Ni'bai, and he assists her in getting Kharla'ggen under her control. Though he does take exception when Ni'bai decides Fame'nidea [[HeKnowsTooMuch Knows Too Much]]]].
* OhCrap: When Kharla suddenly [[http://drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?sid=9486 pounces out of her bed.]]

* MagicMusic: Her affinity is spellsong.
%%* MoodSwinger: Per her concept art.
* PantyThief: A rare female example, if her reaction to Chrys'tel is any indication.
* ScrewThisImOuttaHere: When Kharla begins freaking out in a crowded market, her reaction is to get clear and wish Larvova luck in dealing with it.

!! Labran'che*[[note]]Created by [=AkaikaKekai=][[/note]]
A drowussu with a split personality and one of Larvova's scourges. He's among those Kiel brought to Snadhya'rune's meeting in Chapter 44. Reappears in Chapter 47, having been tainted at some point during the return trip. His concept art can be found [[http://www.drowtales.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/ch44_labranche_news.jpg here]].
----
* CargoCult: Mask-Labran'che worhips the turtle summon, or "Infinity Turtle" as he calls it.
* CompanionCube: Part of his particular brand of Vloz crazy. He talks to his mask as if it were a living person. And when he puts it on...
* JekyllAndHyde: While otherwise fairly collected ([[CloudCuckooland for a Vloz]]), putting on said mask brings out a very deranged side of his personality.
* PlayingWithFire: He has a fire affinity.
* ScrewThisImOuttaHere: Like Finol, he quickly gets out of the way when Kharla throws a fit in a market.
* WideEyesAndShrunkenIrises: When he puts on [[SplitPersonality his mask]].

!! Lind'orm*[[note]]Created by Pariel[[/note]]

* DualWielding: A pair of swords.
* OnlySaneMan: Very calm and reasonable, for a Vloz.
* RealMenWearPink: He enjoys cooking.
* ScarsAreForever: He has a long stitched scar on the left side of his face, similar to Larvova.
* SubordinateExcuse: He is in love with Larvova. Although it's not clear if she reciprocates, she certainly enjoys the attention.

!! Be'tor*[[note]]Created by Midevi[[/note]]
One of the few drowussu in the clan and a scourge of Ni'bai. He works to help her achieve her goals. First appearing in Chapter 47, his concept art can be found [[http://www.drowtales.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/Chapter47_Midevi.png here]].

* DespairEventHorizon: It's hard to be sure but, between his dejected attitude and knowingly rendering aid to [[PutThemAllOutOfMyMisery Ni'bai]], it seems clear he crossed this a long time ago.
* DoomedDefeatist: Noted as such in his concept art.
* TheEeyore: Is not a happy fellow, though the exact reasons for this are not explained.
* MakingASplash: Has an affinity for Water Sorcery.

* ImprobableHairstyle: Justified, as it's a wig.
* LargeHamTitle: Inflicts these upon his superiors.
* TaintedVeins: His concept art shows some form of corruption or disease on his neck.

* ThePollyanna: Taken to a dark extreme, in that she's not even concerned about [[spoiler: her role in trying to end the world]].

* TheBait: Offered up as such by Xenon to distract a hungry Kharla. Fortunately she doesn't bite.
* BigOlEyebrows: One of his most notable features. They're absolutely ''huge''.
* ExtremeDoormat: A very meek individual.
* FunSize: His other prominent feature.
* ShrinkingViolet: A male example.
* StealthExpert: Entirely unintentional... it's just a natural talent.

!! Xenon*[[note]]Created by Xenon[[/note]]

* HumanShield: When a ''very'' hungry Kharla appears and demands food, she quickly [[TheBait offers up Poncho]].

[[folder: Demon Princes*]]
!Demon Princes

A group of Vel'Akar (sapient demons) that follow Kiel and seem to represent the Drowtales fandom.

* BigDamnHeroes: To [=blob!Naal=]. [[spoiler: After a cameo literally stabs the host, the Demon Princes swarm [=blob!Naal=] and carry the nether being away from a sealer, straight to Kiel.]]
* BlobMonster: They are usually relatively shapeless. Though the especially strong willed ones (fan cameos) can take more defined forms when they need to. [[spoiler:They tend to acquire this ability around Naal. Strange things happen around her]].
* CoolCrown: They sprout these when they take on a humanoid appearance.
* {{Familiar}}: Play this role to Kiel.
* FightingAShadow: Demon princes start out immaterial just like most other demons. But on rare occasions, they acquire a physical body from Naal, much like a summon, enabling them to interact with the physical world without a host. If said physical body is destroyed, they merely return to their immaterial state or get temporarily banished back to their homeworld, though they are still vulnerable to the weaknesses of any other demon, like [[SealedBadassInACan getting sealed]].
* FlippingTheBird: They do this [[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?sid=8887 en mass at Khaless]] on Kiel's behalf.
* FromBeyondTheFourthWall: As they are representational of the fanbase, they end up reflecting reader comments.
* GreekChorus: Often make comments on the situation, including one who lets loose a very loud "[[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?sid=8889 Bullshit!]]" in response to Khaless' claim [[spoiler:that Snadhya'rune agrees with Kiel about the clan system]].
** But, they will occasionally nudge events to fit their mob-preferred choral outcome, sometimes when asked to by Kiel or when roped into it by e.g. her using their decapitated heads as ad hoc weaponry. Though, they'll also occasionally do so off their own bats. Like, [[spoiler:when guiding/ piggybacking the lost [=blob!Naal=] to Kiel once they find her.]]
* HornedHumanoid: When they take on a defined shape. At least some of them also have cloven hooves.
* LiteralSplitPersonality: All of them are essentially fragments of the personality of the demon Kiel was tainted with, each fragment developed into an individual Vel'Akar.
* LosingYourHead: This is at most a [[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?sid=9171 minor inconvenience]] for them.
* MindHive: Most of them are usually clustered into a a handful of multifaced entities, though individuals do split off and rejoin as they please. All of them are demonic manifestations of Kiel's taint that reflect the comic audience.
* PaintingTheMedium: They are meant to be literal avatars of the readers of Drowtales. So when Sha'sana briefly manages to [[SealedBadassInACan seal all of them]], the camera blacks out until Nau'kheol's intervention.
* OurDemonsAreDifferent: Even by the setting's standards.
* SnakesAreSexy: Demon Princes/Princesses that manage to gain a defined form sometimes have serpent-like apparitions attached to their body. Sindas and his two snakes form more of a comedy trio, but it seems to be played straight with Bast.
* SuperDeformed: Those with a defined form can shrink down to chibi size.
* {{Telepathy}}: The means by which they communicate with each other and Kiel. Any attempt to speak out normally won't work and no one else can hear them. But although they cannot be heard, they can still influence the thought processes of others.
