The deities and mythological characters of India which are playable in ''SMITE''. The Myth/HinduMythology page deals with and can provide beneficent information about their real world counterparts, also see {{UsefulNotes/Hinduism}}.
----
* AmazingTechnicolorPopulation: Played with. Some of the characters have blue or red skin, while others have realistic skin tones.
* CultureClash: The teachings and morality of Hindu culture are more intellectual and pacifistic when compared to the others. Plus, unlike the majority of other pantheons in the game Hinduism is a religion that is still practiced and openly worshipped in the present day.
* MysticalIndia: Like real life India, the depictions of the Hindu characters in the game are a mixture of both ancient times and modern-day Hinduism.
* SpareBodyParts: Several of the Hindu characters have multiple arms and/or heads, though not to the extent of their original depictions due to programming limitations. However like with the Egyptians having animal traits, it's ArtisticLicense since the original depictions are meant to be symbolic and not taken literally.

[[caption-width-right:250:"My arrival signals the end of the unjust, an end to this war, and an end to everything! From the ashes will the universe be born anew!"]]
-> '''Voiced by:''' Harish Bhimani

One of the main deities in Hinduism, Shiva is (alongside being Ganesha's father and Parvati/Kali's husband) one of the Trimurti, which consists of Brahma (the creator), Vishnu (the preserver), and Shiva himself (the destroyer), all three gods representing the endless cycle of creation and destruction. With his dance, he ushers the old worlds to their ends, so that new worlds may arise where they once stood. Embodying both compassion and ferocity, Shiva comes to the battlefield of gods, prepared to begin his dance and begin the cycle of the world anew.

He is the first god to be released for the ninth season of ''SMITE''.\

As a Warrior, Shiva descends onto the battlefield to bring destruction and recreation in his wake, alternating between supporting his allies and obliterating his foes.

* His passive is ''Samsara'', which has him switch between ''Bliss'' and ''Destruction'' states by dealing damage to enemies, with his abilities gaining additional effects depending on the state he is in. ''Bliss'' abilities buff his allies while ''Destruction'' abilities debuff enemies. In addition, Shiva passively buffs ally HP and MP regen while in ''Bliss'' and debuffs enemy regen while in ''Destruction'', while also reducing the cooldown of his basic abilities when he switches states.
* His first ability is the ''Emblazoned Sweep'' where he empowers his trident with flame and spins around it, damaging and pulling in enemies while leaving a burning wall at the edge that increases ally movement speed while in ''Bliss'' or reduces enemy protections while in ''Destruction''.
* His second ability, ''Damaru's Tempo'', has him send out a cone of energy that damages enemies it passes through as well as knocks up enemies in a target area. ''Bliss'' gives an attack speed boost to allies hit by the energy wave while ''Destruction'' reduces the attack speed of enemies hit.
* ''Pillar of Dawn'', his third ability, has him dash into a pillar of fire, meditate in it for a few seconds, then dash again. While meditating, he takes reduced damage, negates enemy CC, and radiates an aura that will allow allies inside it to negate a single basic attack (3 attacks for Shiva) while in ''Bliss'' or damage enemies while in ''Destruction''.
* His ultimate has him perform the ''Shiva Tandava'', a dance that grants him CC immunity and damage reduction that consists of 4 steps with 3 selectable effects: A step that damages enemies and removes a fixed percentage of enemy shields, a step that restores the health and mana of allies, and a step that damages and heals (at half the effectiveness of the previous steps) as well as increasing the radius and power of the next step used.
----
* ActionDad: He is Ganesha's father.
* AnthropomorphicPersonification: of Destruction (and renewal).
* AscendedExtra: Shiva previously made cameos in the lore backgrounds of Ganesha and Ravana. Now he has officially joined Battleground of the Gods as a playable character.
* ApocalypseHow: True to his role in Hindu mythology, Shiva is apocalypse personified in the lore of ''Smite''. In the Dharmic Era event he descends to obliterate the world and create it anew, using the occasion to teach Tiamat a lesson in humility. In a meta sense, his act of destruction also brings an end to the canon ''Smite'' storyline that was based on the Pantheon Wars comics.
* BaritoneOfStrength: Courtesy of Harish Bhimani.
* BattleCouple: Can form one with Kali (who is a form of his main wife in Hindu lore, Parvati).
* BigDamnHeroes:
** In his teaser trailer, he arrives to stop Tiamat's energy blast from hitting Bellona, then he tries to end the gods' fighting in general.
** An interesting version in the in-game lore; he comes in to stop Tiamat from destroying and recreating the world, but then proceeds to destroy and bring it back himself with his dance. Given Tiamat’s [[ItsAllAboutMe motives]], it is probably a good thing Shiva did not give her the chance to recreate the world.
* BreakingOldTrends: Shiva is the first god introduced since Achilles in 2018 to not have an ability that slows enemies. Up to that point, the tendency to add slows to new god kits was so prevalent that it became an in-joke among the developers and fans.
* TheBusCameBack: Shiva is the first god from the Hindu pantheon to be released since Ganesha in 2017, ending a four-year-long drought of characters not being added from it. To acknowledge this, his teaser trailer has him being awakened by Ganesha.
** Shiva himself even lampshades this fact with one of his quotes, saying how it has been a long time since Hindu presence was felt on the battleground.
* CastingGag: The developers have commented that their decision to cast Harish Bhimani to voice Shiva was at least inspired by his roles in various Indian productions which adapted Hindu mythology, chief among them ''Series/{{Mahabharata}}'', which he narrated.
* DanceBattler: In Hindu lore, Shiva is known as Nataraja or the "Lord of the Dance". In ''Smite'', this is reflected by his ultimate, ''Shiva Tandava'', wherein he performs his signature dance. It has three selectable dance steps, each of which has a different effect, and players can choose the order in which they are executed to provide powerful buffs or debuffs to the gods around him. [[spoiler: In the Dharmic Era event, he also uses his dancing to literally annihilate and remake the world.]]
* DarkIsNotEvil: He's one of the more famous [[DestroyerDeity Destroyer Deities]], but he's a benevolent force who prevents Tiamat's further chaos.
* DestroyerDeity: [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin Of course.]] But the destruction he brings is a positive kind that makes way for the new, a crucial segment in the eternal cycle of existence. It is more accurate to say that Shiva is a [[ThePowerOfCreation creator deity]] as well as a destroyer deity.
* DontFearTheReaper: Despite being the literal destroyer of the universe (and thus a personification of death), Shiva comes off as a wise, serene being who tries to put an end to the war between gods.
--> ''This is not the end, for there is no end.''
* FaceDeathWithDignity: He remains calm and serene, even when killed, his lines suggesting that this is simply a natural part of the eternal cycle of death and rebirth he oversees.
--> ''We fall, so that we may again rise.''
--> ''The cycle will always continue.''
* FeatherBoaConstrictor: A cobra can be seen coiled around his neck, and it disrupts his meditation in his defeat screen. It's actually Vasuki, the king of the [[OurDragonsAreDifferent Nagas]] in Myth/HinduMythology.
* {{Foil}}:
** To Tiamat. While both deities can create and destroy universes, more emphasis is placed on [[ThePowerOfCreation Creation]] for her and [[DestroyerDeity Destruction]] for him. However, Shiva is not a straight DestroyerDeity; he signifies the ending of all things so that a new universe can be made. In his teaser trailer, he is also calm and wise in contrast to Tiamat's aggressiveness and pride, telling her that the world is not made in her image. Both deities are also [[StanceSystem stance switchers]] with each stance representing creation (Tiamat's flying stance and Shiva's Bliss state) or destruction (Tiamat's ground stance and Shiva's Destruction state). Additionally, their second abilties are [[ShockwaveStomp Shockwave Stomps]] that knock up enemies, while their third abilties are movement abilities that allow them to dash in both directions. Finally, their ultimates allow them to choose between three different effects to utilize.
** Likewise to Surtr. Both are their pantheon's respective [[DestroyerDeity Destroyer Deities]] classified as Warriors and released at the beginning of their respective seasons (9 and 10). But while Shiva is known as a benevolent and revered DestroyerDeity who brings a new age of beginning for more deities out of necessity to undo Tiamat's damage, Surtr is a feared DestroyerDeity who brings a new age of monsters out of his own rage of being constantly beaten as an OptionalBoss.
* HugeGuyTinyGirl: [[https://i.redd.it/m1yc634ks1g81.png As seen here]], he's the huge guy to Kali's tiny girl.
* LockedIntoStrangeness: The streak of blue in Shiva's hair represents the sacred River Ganges. In one Hindu story he offered to help break the Ganges' descent from heaven by catching her in his locks, and she has formed a part of his iconography since.
* MythologyGag: Literally every aspect of Shiva's appearance and kit in ''Smite'' is based on his attributes from Hindu religion. To take a few examples: his ultimate ''Shiva Tandava'' is named after the very dance he uses to destroy the universe at the end of each cosmic cycle, and his ''Pillar of Dawn'' ability references the story in which he manifested as an infinite pillar of fire to demonstrate his superior power to Brahma and Vishnu. His two stances reflect his nature as a deity who encompasses opposites, including creation and destruction. The pose he uses in his default card art is also directly based on [[https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/05/WLANL_-_Pachango_-_Tropenmuseum_-_Shiva_Nataraja.jpg traditional statues of him as the "Lord of the Dance".]]
* MultiArmedAndDangerous: Like his wife Kali and his son Ganesha, Shiva has four arms.
* PlayingWithFire: He holds the flame of Agni in one of his four hands and uses it to empower his trishula for his ''Emblazoned Sweep'' ability. This lets him create a wall of fire that strengthens or weakens surrounding gods depending on which stance he is in. Additionally, he enters a pillar of fire to meditate in his ''Pillar of Dawn'' ability.
* ThePowerOfCreation: He is just as capable of creating the universe as he is in destroying it. In fact, destroying the universe and re-creating it anew is his principal role in Hindu mythology.
* PowerFloats: As a cosmic deity representing universal destruction, Shiva floats in the air during his introduction trailer. He also levitates briefly after activating his ''Pillar of Dawn'' ability.
* ProngsOfPoseidon: Shiva wields a trident (or trishula) as his trademark weapon. He [[PlayingWithFire imbues it with the flames of Agni]] while using it to attack in his first ability, ''Emblazoned Sweep''. In one of his voicelines, he even notes the similarity of his weapon with that of the Trope Codifier.
--> ''“The Greek ocean god also wields a trident? I had mine before his. I'm sure of it.”''
* RestartTheWorld: In the Dharmic Era event lore he does this after destroying the world, creating a new continuity and sending all gods back to their rightful places within it.
* ShockwaveStomp: His ''Damaru's Tempo'' ability has him send forth a shockwave by slamming the bottom end of his trishula on the ground. It uses a unique, segmented cone targeter that allows the player to choose where to apply the ability’s knockup.
* StanceSystem: Downplayed. The developers [[https://youtu.be/6LfsGsyk8a0?t=4734 have referred to Shiva as a "state switcher"]] instead, as his passive allows him to cycle through two states, ''Bliss'' and ''Destruction'', by dealing damage to enemies. Unlike the case with a true stance switcher, his abilities do not change regardless of his current state. Rather, his three non-ultimate abilities gain very different effects depending on which state he is in, with the ''Bliss'' state letting them buff allies and the ''Destruction'' state making them debuff enemies. When Shiva switches states, these abilities also have their cooldowns reduced by two seconds.
* TechnicolorFire: The flame he holds in his off-hand changes color to indicate what state he is in (blue for ''Bliss'', red for ''Destruction'').
* TimeAbyss: As both Creator and Destroyer, Shiva has existed for innumerable world cycles.
* TranquilFury: When Shiva gives Tiamat a TheReasonYouSuckSpeech he keeps his composure, but his ominous tone and biting words show he is holding back a ''lot'' of anger towards Tiamat and her pettiness.
* WalkingShirtlessScene: Aside from some tiger skin, most of his well-formed torso is exposed. And his Shadow Dancer skin does away with the tiger skin altogether.

The Demon King Bali was a virtuous King, but he was also proud and ambitious. After taking over the Underworld and Earth, he planned to take Heaven and dispatched the ruler of Heaven, Indra, for a time. Indra sought aid from Vishnu, who then took form of a short-statured monk named Vamana.\

When Bali was giving gifts to the pious, Vamana requested as much land as he could cover in three steps. Bali gave him an island, but Vamana insisted, so the Demon King gave it against his advisors' wishes. Suddenly Vamana grew to cosmic proportions, reaching out to even Heaven. On his first step, both Earth and Underworld were engulfed, on his second step, Heaven was consumed. And for the third step, Vamana gave Bali a choice: Return everything in place or offer somewhere else for the third step. This humbled Bali so much that he offered his own head for the third step. Sated, Vamana sent Bali back to the underworld, but rewarded his benevolence and sacrifice when he ruled the realms by giving him sovereignty over the Underworld.\

After handing Heaven back to Indra, Vamana vanished as Vishnu considered his job done. But with the Gods battling around, Vamana is once again seen, he may be small, but these mighty and arrogant Gods need to be taught valuable lessons of humility by even the smallest of men.\

Vamana is a versatile Warrior god that can be difficult to take down, provided he can first be caught.

* His passive, ''Sleeping Giant'', grants him bonus physical power and attack speed based on his physical protection.
* Vamana's first ability, ''Clear the Path'', makes him charge forward umbrella-first, damaging and knocking up any enemies he encounters.
* His second ability, ''Armored Umbrella'', makes him attack a cone area in front of him with his umbrella, dealing damage.
* His third ability, ''Umbrellarang'', keeps up the theme of attacking with his umbrella, this time throwing it forward and having it return, damaging and slowing enemies it encounters. Enemies can be hit twice by the move.
* Vamana's ultimate, ''Colossal Fury'', makes him grow to immense size, gaining crowd control immunity, power, lifesteal, protections (which grants Vamana attack speed and additional power from his passive), and a shield that grows over time. While massive, Vamana will pass through player made walls, his basic attacks will hit a large cone in front of him, he is resistant to movement penalties from basic attacks and backpedaling, and he will gain movement speed when hitting enemy gods with basic attacks. If he takes damage from an enemy god, the ultimate's duration will increase up to a limit.
----
* ArtEvolution: Received a complete visual remodel ditching the creepy baby-man look he originally had and making him look more realistic.
* AwesomeButImpractical: His ultimate tends to be this early on in a game; while it makes him pretty much impossible to fight head-on, he can't use any of his abilities while it's active and it doesn't increase his movement speed, so people can just run away from him until it ends and there's not much he can do to catch up. However, this weakness can be mitigated by a number of items that either increase his speed or reduce that of his enemies, turning it into a case of awesome-but-practical by late game.
* BerserkButton: As described in one of his jokes:
--> "I have learned to control my anger. But if anybody calls me a baby again then I'm going to LOSE IT!!"
* {{Determinator}}: Big time during his ultimate. He gains several tools to increase his survivability and increased duration when taking damage, encouraging him to push through whatever his enemies throw at him.
* LightningBruiser: He often builds with this in mind, buying items that increase both his defenses and movement speed, especially since his passive increases his power by a portion of his armor. Exaggerated if he uses Sprint during his ultimate.
* ParasolOfPain: His main weapon.
* PrecisionGuidedBoomerang: His umbrella always returns in the path of least resistance, letting a savvy player trick it into hitting a strafing enemy twice.
* ShoutOut: Vamana says "Oh Yeah!" when activating his ultimate to probably reference the Kool-Aid Man. Regrettably, he cannot break through walls.
** Though with Cabrakan's destructible wall via his ultimate, Vamana can finally do the more complete impression. [[HilariousInHindsight Ironically, Ganesha does the 'go through wall' thing better than Vamana, in that Ganesha doesn't need to hit the obstacles and can even go through indestructible obstacles]], but only Vamana comes with the line "Oh Yeah!"
** Vamana also references Music/{{Rihanna}} and Film/SinginInTheRain in some his directed taunts and jokes.
* SuperMode: Vamana's ultimate, ''Colossal Fury'', provides a large increase to several of his stats, grants him a large health shield, makes him immune to crowd control, and lets him hit all enemies around him with his basic attacks. And to top it all off, it makes him gigantic!

One of the most revered Hindu gods, Ganesha was born of the goddess of fertility and love, Parvati, who formed him from the filth she washed from her body. Tasked to guard the door as she bathe, he was decapitated by his father Shiva, who feared for Parvati's safety. Upon realizing the boy was his son, Shiva sought to correct his mistake, saving his son by gifting him the head of a wise elephant.

Ganesha's godly domain is that of obstacles and success. He blocks the path of the arrogant unworthy, while clearing the path for the honest. Mortals offer their prayers to him so that he may guide them to success on the paths they take.

As a kind-hearted god, Ganesha is not one who eagerly joins the fight, but he has sensed the peril the world is in, and has realized he must take action and decide the course of this war.

Ganesha is a Guardian god capable of selflessly benefiting his team through his own aggressive playstyle.

* His passive, ''Good Fortune'', allows him to grant the credit and rewards for any kill he secures to the closest ally god within assist range, giving him an assist instead. To compensate for this, his assist range is slightly larger than normal and he has slightly more time after hitting a target to get the assist credit.
* His first ability, ''Turn of Fate'', is a projectile that damages any enemy it hits. For each enemy hit, up to a maximum of five, he grants all ally gods nearby a brief damage buff.
* His second ability, ''Ohm'', has him chant, increasing the Protections of all ally gods near him. The chant is also bellowed outward in a cone that silences enemies in front of him.
* His third ability, ''Remove Obstacles'', is a quick charge capable of running through player-made obstacles. When he hits an enemy he locks him in place, damaging him before knocking him up into the air.
* His ultimate, ''Dharmic Pillars'', summons four pillars in a square formation with a magic field between them. Any enemy god that passes through this field is damaged, slowed, and has reduced protections. The first instance of damage dealt to each enemy is greatly increased, but the field deals reduced damage to minions.
----
* AntiMagic: ''Ohm'' silences enemies in a cone in front of Ganesh for the duration, prevening them from casting spells.
* {{Combos}}: ''Dharmic Pillars'' does a '''bunch''' of damage to enemies as long as they're standing in one of its' edges, so keeping an enemy inside one of the lines with ''Remove Obstacles'' is highly lethal. The pillars on the corner are also solid obstacles, so the the pillars of ''Dharmic Pillars'' can be very useful for creating obstacles for enemies that Ganesha can, of course, just use ''Remove Obstacles'' to avoid having his movement hindered by them.
* {{Curse}}: Flavor text of ''Turn of Fate'' indicates that Ganesha curses his enemies with his willpower, making them take extra damage from Ganesha's allies.
* DifficultButAwesome: Ganesha can deal a surprising amount of damage over time with ''Dharmic Pillars'', but it requires his target to stand still in the barrier lines, which no enemies would have done unless they are locked down while standing on the barrier line, but the line is thin enough that it requires timing and precision to pull it off. But if Ganesha manages to lock down an enemy God this way, with even smaller follow up, the enemy is more likely to be deader than ever.
* FurryReminder: Despite being a humanoid god, there are a couple of reminders that he's got an elephant head. During his "Woohoo" voice line, and while charging during the cast of ''Remove Obstacles,'' Ganesh trumpets like an elephant. In his victory animation, he picks from the bowl of food he carries with his trunk.
* GoodIsNotSoft: One of the nicest Gods in the game and his quotes are mostly encouraging others. But when deploying the ''Dharmic Pillar'', he suddenly raises his voice to show that he's done playing nice and whatever evil his enemy spreads ''will be stopped''.
-->''Your wickedness stops here!''
-->''You will go no further!''
* GodzillaThreshold: When it became clear that Tiamat was unstoppable, there was only one option left for Ganesha to save the day: Call daddy dearest Shiva. [[BigDamnHeroes It worked.]]
* GoodLuckCharm: Will randomly seem to indicate wards or consumables may grant good fortune, and one would assume the God of Success would know these...
* HonorableElephant: Ganesha is elephant-headed and a very protective God that shares his credit with his teammates. His background outright says the elephant is the wisest creature in the world.
* HumbleHero: Ganesha isn't your God to boast how many kills you can nab in your scoreboard, if he gets kills, he'll let others take the glory, he will more likely end the game with zero kills (or at most, maybe two), but usually having the highest Assist count. His other quotes such as his death quotes or other VGS quotes put emphasis on his humility.
* KillSteal: His passive is meant to avert this. If Ganesha kills a God himself and there's a nearby God (even if he's the one doing most of the heavy-hitting by himself, if that's somehow possible due to his status as a Guardian), he'll just take the Assist credits and give the full Kill credits to said nearby God.
* LightIsGood: The magical walls of ''Dharmic Pillars'' glow with bright light, and is described as Ganesha imprisoning his enemies within pillars of righteousness. Enemies that walk through the walls take damage, get slowed, and have reduced protections for a few seconds.
* MiniMecha: His M.O.U.S.E. Force skin resembles a mecha piloted by a mouse.
* MultiArmedAndDangerous: Being Shiva's son, he inherits his multiple arms. While not a great killer like Kali, he can still contribute to the team's success.
* NiceGuy: Among all the gods in the game, he's rivalled only by Khepri in how nice and helpful he is towards his team.
* NonHumanHead: He has the head of an elephant on a human body.
* OffWithHisHead: Shiva accidentally beheaded him before giving him an elephant head. One of his low health quotes refer to this.
-->''Let's not lose our heads here.''
* PowerFloats: He levitates while enhancing his own and his allies' protections when executing ''Ohm''. Enemies in front of him will be forced to be respectful and be silenced.
* StatusBuff: ''Turn of Fate'' grants allies bonus damage against targets afflicted by it, while ''Ohm'' gives allied gods near Ganesha during its channel bonus protections.
* StealthPun: He silences you while casting Ohm because shut up, he's meditating!
* SupportPartyMember: While still quite capable of pulling out some lethal {{combos}}, Ganesha is clearly intended to hand the glory over to his allies while shutting down vital enemy abilities.
* TribalFacePaint: His Primal Shaman skin paints his face with a skull pattern.

Kumbhakarna is the brother of Ravana, but unlike his brother, he was a pious, honest and joyous giant of a man who greatly valued loyalty to his family. If Ravana wasn't a tyrannical demon king, Kumbhakarna might have gone down as a hero in myths.\

Impressed with his piety, Brahma decided to grant him a boon. Kumbhakarna wished to take Indra's place as Heaven's ruler. With his position threatened, Indra grew jealous and quickly twisted the boon. Kumbhakarna wanted to say "Indraasana" (Indra's Seat), but his tongue got magically twisted into "Nidraasana", which meant 'to sleep'. And thus, Kumbhakarna entered a deep sleep. As a giant, his snores caused great rumbles equal to distant and loud battles or a stampede of elephants.\

Or it could be a yawn or roar, since lately Kumbhakarna dozily awakened. Ravana has made a call-to-arms to his fellow demon brothers to aid him in war against Gods, and once again upholding his loyalty to his family, Kumbhakarna joined Ravana's ranks reluctantly.\

Kumbhakarna is a Guardian god who uses multiple types of crowd control to lock his enemies down.
* His passive, ''Sleepy'', makes him fall asleep instead of being slain when reduced to zero HP. Unless hit with six to ten (depending on his level) basic attacks within eight seconds, he will wake up with his health and mana set to a percentage of their maximum value. The passive, however, has a lengthy cooldown.
* Kumbhakarna's first ability, ''Throw Back'', makes him run forward and smash belly-first into the first enemy he encounters, dealing damage. If the target is a minion, they become a projectile, dealing further damage to all enemies they pass through.
* Using his second ability, ''Groggy Strike'', Kumbhakarna lifts his staff overhead and, after a painfully-long delay, brings it down on a cone area in front of himself, damaging, rooting, and crippling all enemies hit.
* Kumbhakarna's third ability, ''Mighty Yawn'', releases a yawn that puts any enemies nearby to sleep for a considerable duration. The sleep can be ended early if the target takes damage, but their Attack Speed and Movement Speed will be reduced if roused prematurely. He can use this ability even if asleep from ''Sleepy''.
* Kumbhakarna's ultimate, ''Epic Uppercut'', has him dash forward and deliver a powerful blow to the first enemy encountered, sending them into the sky for two seconds before crashing back down, dealing damage and knocking up all enemies nearby.
----
* AntiVillain: Kumbhakarna is actually a more benevolent deity, but nonetheless cares for his more demonic brother out of loyalty and family bonds, which sometimes makes him fall on the villains' side.
* AwakeningTheSleepingGiant: He is always barely awake during his fights. It is only during his ultimate that he really wakes up in order to deliver a massive punch.
* BigfootSasquatchAndYeti: Has a yeti-themed skin called Kumbhalayan Yeti.
* {{Combos}}: Hit an enemy God with Groggy Strike or Mighty Yawn to ensure you won't miss Epic Uppercut. Really, just use Mighty Yawn first to guarantee anything else (unless your allies errantly hit them..). Additionally, the wind-down from the animation of Epic Uppercut pretty much perfectly lines up immediately using Groggy Strike right after to hit them with it the moment they land.
* DeathIsASlapOnTheWrist: His passive causes him to ''fall asleep'' when other gods would die.
* IncrediblyConspicuousDrag: His Princess Sleepyhead skin has Kumbhakarna dress in a princess's dress without shaving any of his massive mustache.
* MegatonPunch: His ultimate, ''Epic Uppercut'', is strong enough to knock any other god into the air as if they were ragdolls.
* {{Pride}}: Probably the one chink of his otherwise good nature. Kumbhakarna actually wanted to rule the Heavens as a reward for his pious personality, and he was only halted when a jealous Indra twisted his wish to make him sleep for a very long time.
* PunchedAcrossTheRoom: Throw Back does this to a minion hit by it, though it's more just him bashing his belly into them.
* ReluctantWarrior: Yeah, he's not too happy about having to fight for his brother when he simply wishes to sleep.
* SillinessSwitch: A second only to Bacchus in plain inherent silliness with his kit. Throw Back has a humorous "boing"-like sound when it hits, his passive is him taking a short nap instead of dying, and well, it's funny to see a big fat SleepyHead yawning constantly.
* ShockwaveStomp: Groggy Strike is the hammer variant.
* ShoutOut: His victory animation is essentially Daler Mehndi's dance ''Tunak Tunak Tun'', complete with Denton briefly filling in as one of the other Mehndi copies for a particular moment.
* SleepyHead: He dozes off in his select screen, recall, and idle animations. He also speaks in a sleepy mumble, complains about needing rest when low on health, puts enemies to sleep with his infectious yawning, and briefly falls asleep instead of dying when his health is depleted. And his grunt during Groggy Strike is that "ahhhh that's a good stretch" yawn.
* StoneWall: Kumbhakarna's damage output is not too big, but there's a reason why he's one of the most feared Guardians in the game, his defense points are naturally high and he can just prevent you from hitting him by applying tons of CC on you. And if you managed to kill him, he just sleeps and requires another beating to put him away, otherwise he comes back on the spot and disables your team again.
* StoutStrength: Big guy with big powers.
* TokenGoodTeammate: If it wasn't for being Ravana's brother, Kumbhakarna would've been a hero. It says right there in his lore.
* TopHeavyGuy: Has an enormous torso with extremely long arms balanced on a tiny set of legs.
* WalkingShirtlessScene: Doesn't wear anything to cover his torso.

Agni is the two-headed Fire God and also twin brother of the Heaven's Ruler Indra. His exact origin is unknown to many; he might have been one of the primordials of the Hindu mythology. While Indra was chief amongst warriors, Agni was chief amongst priests, delivering messages and sacrifices through fire, providing heat and light, and cleansing impurities. He's welcome to many.\

The two heads serve different purpose, one head representing kindness and purity for the people and Gods, and the other one representing destruction, which is used to take his place in the cosmic cycle of creation and destruction and also towards the Gods that ravage the land.\

Agni is a Mage god with a good mixture of damage, crowd control, and mobility, but is somewhat short-ranged.

* His passive, ''Combustion'', grants him a stack with every successful basic attack, double when hitting enemy gods. Upon reaching four stacks, his next ''Flame Wave'' or ''Rain of Fire'' will also set their targets on fire, dealing damage over time for a few seconds.
* His first ability, ''Noxious Fumes'', summons a cloud of combustible gas at a nearby area for a few seconds, damaging all enemies inside. Additionally, if any of his other abilities hit the gas cloud they will make it explode, damaging and stunning all enemies inside.
* His second ability, ''Flame Wave'', launches a wave of fire that damages all opponents in a line in front of Agni.
* With his third ability, ''Path of Flames'', Agni dashes a short distance forward, also leaving behind for a few seconds a burning trail of flames that set all enemies that pass through them on fire, damaging them over time.
* His ultimate ability, ''Rain of Fire'', allows Agni to store up to three flaming halos over time that can be consumed to call down a meteor at a nearby area, damaging all opponents inside.\

Agni's alternate skins include Incinerator Agni, Volcanic Agni, Swagni, Infernal Agni, Triumph & Agni, Curse Agni, Gemini Agni, Encore Agni, Ice Mage Agni, and Abyssal Acolyte Agni.
----
* AnthropomorphicPersonification: Of fire.
* AscendedMeme: Was nicknamed "Swagni" by players for a long time due to his odd, extremely-floaty walk. He was reworked and no longer does the walk, but he got a “Swagni”skin that preserves the walking animation.
* AutoTune: In his Swagni skin. It makes him sound like [[VideoGame/SaintsRowTheThird Zimos]].
* {{Combo}}: Of two types, in ''Combustion'' and ''Noxious Fumes''. An important trick to learn is using ''Rain of Fire'', then creating a cloud of ''Noxious Fumes'' in the target area before the meteorite falls.
* DeathFromAbove: His ultimate, ''Rain of Fire'', can do this up to three consecutive times depending on how many charges he has.
* DemBones: His Necro Fumes skin makes him a skeleton, though most of his body is covered by armor.
* FloweryInsults: The taunts for his Triumph & Agni skin are full of these.
-->'''Agni:''' You churlish ill-nurtured measle!
* FullFrontalAssault: His Infernal skin is literally stark naked, though nothing naughty is visible.
* GameplayAndStorySegregation: Agni is a god representing the duality of flame, as a source of warmth and a force of destruction. His kit, meanwhile, is purely destructive. This even extends to his character design - one of his faces is supposed to be kind, the other wrathful. Here, both are scowling and angry. His gameplay model used to be better about this, with his left head smiling and his right head frowning. It's maintained in his reworked model, but 1) it's now his ''right'' head smiling, and 2) it's more of a SlasherSmile.
* AnIcePerson: His Ice Mage skin reskins his abilities effect with ice.
* MrFanservice: He used to look fairly strange, like a classic Fire Elemental, but now he looks like a wrestler-turned-monk and is a WalkingShirtlessScene.
* MultipleHeadCase: One of his heads (smiling) represents all the positives about fire while the other (frowning) represents everything negative about it.
* NoblewomansLaugh: His Triumph & Agni skin [[https://d1u5p3l4wpay3k.cloudfront.net/smite_gamepedia/1/1f/TheaterAgni_laugh_1.ogg laughs like this]].
* PimpDuds: His Swagni skin.
* PlayingWithFire: As to be expected of a fire god.
* ThisCannotBe: His Gemini skin has a variation of this as one as his death quotes.
-->'''Agni:''' How could this be!?
* UnflinchingWalk: He does this in his victory animation, creating explosions behind him. Too bad for [[ButtMonkey Denton]] that the God of Fire doesn't notice him.
* WalkingShirtlessScene: His Gemini skin doesn't wear a shirt, instead showing his chiseled chest.

Bakasura is a terrifying man-eating demon with endless appetite. There was no end to his atrocities towards mankind where he brutally murdered and devoured men for his own satiation. He was last seen in a forest where he terrorized a village where the chief begged that he should stop feasting on the village, and in exchange, every day, they will send him a cart of provisions. Bakasura agreed to that, but he instead consumed not just the provisions, but the carrier as well.\

His reign of terror ended when the hero Bhima became the carrier of provisions and ate the provisions right in his face, goading Bakasura to attack him. After a long battle, Bhima slew Bakasura and took his corpse to the village where they celebrated the end of the terror.\

Unfortunately, Bakasura is an embodiment of a concept that cannot be destroyed, that of hunger. He reformed his body when Gods around the pantheons battle, this time he's even more ravenous and hungry, wanting to feed on even Gods.\

Bakasura is an Assassin god that can wipe out minions instantly and use them to overwhelm his opponents.
* His passive, ''Insatiable Hunger'', temporarily increases Bakasura's movement and attack speed whenever he kills an enemy unit, stacking up to three times.
* His first ability, ''Take Down'', makes Bakasura leap to a nearby area, damaging all enemies at the landing point while applying a debuff that increases the damage his targets take and reduces the healing they receive for a few seconds.
* With his second ability, ''Eat Minion'', Bakasura grabs a nearby enemy or neutral minion and consumes it for a wide collection of benefits; restoring his health and mana, reducing the cooldown of ''Take Down'' and ''Butcher Blades'', and a Protection buff with a decent duration. He will also store the eaten minion in his belly for use with his ultimate, and he can hold up to 6. Larger minions can only be eaten when their health is low, but will count as two minions for ''Regurgitate''.
* His third ability, ''Butcher Blades'', passively increases Bakasura's physical power, and can be activated to temporarily make his basic attacks deal bonus unblockable true damage.
* With his ultimate ability, ''Regurgitate'', Bakasura spews forth a shadowy mass, slowing and crippling all enemies in a targeted area. For every minion stored with ''Eat Minion'', Bakasura will also spawn a goo-covered soldier to fight for him for a few seconds, either to attack enemies or to use as an ''Eat Minion'' target. Bakasura attacks using ghostly jaws for several seconds, expanding the range of his basic attacks to hit in a cone-shaped area in front of him. Additionally, he is immune to crowd control for a short duration.
----
* AnthropomorphicFood: The Tacosura skin turns him into a giant walking taco.
* AnthropomorphicPersonification: Of hunger.
* AxCrazy: Already pretty aggressive to start with, but takes it to the next level with his Rage skin.
-->''Maximum carnage!''
-->''"Kill, kill, kill...''
-->''Hey, lend me your ear for a second! Ahahahaha! I promise I'll give it back!''
* AbsurdlySharpClaws[=/=]ArmorPiercingAttack: Bakasura's ''Butcher Blades'' are the game's most reliable source of resistance-ignoring true damage.
* ArtEvolution: In October 2014 he received a complete redesign that gave him a BellyMouth and [[Franchise/MortalKombat Baraka-esque]] WolverineClaws. Amusingly, the introduction showed his revamped form eating his old form.
* BellyMouth: After his remodel.
* BigEater: Has no problem consuming minions larger than himself. Even more pronounced with his old, smaller model.
* BladeBelowTheShoulder: Originally, he had scythes for hands. Now he has [[Franchise/MortalKombat Baraka-esque]] ones.
* BodyHorror: Pre-remodel Bakasura's hands were bones carved into blades, and he had a (usually hidden) tentacular, fanged maw.
** ''Post''-remodel Bakasura has a skeletal face and a vertical BellyMouth. Also, his claws now emerge from his forearms.
* CameBackWrong: Anyone he eats can be barfed up fully alive, tinted green....and on his side.
** Later changed to spawning mini-Bakasuras.
** Later changed ''again'' to sword-armed humanoids covered in a thick layer of shadowy goo.
* CannonFodder: Sometimes picked in 1v1 games because he can kill objectives without the help of his side's minions, using the regurgitated minions from his ultimate to meatshield for him instead.
* DeathOfAThousandCuts: The MO of his standard build, which emphasizes attack speed over physical power and has you taking damage from his basic attacks, his ''Butcher Blades'', and the passive damage applied by Qin's Sais, plus his minions during his ultimate. It adds up to shred enemies, even tanks, very quickly, thanks to his true damage and the fact that Qin's Sais damages based on a percent of max health.
* EvilTastesGood: It's a rare line that doesn't involve food somehow.
--> (Killing a jungle boss): ''Delicious!''
--> (Dying) ''I've bitten off more than I can chew...''
-->(Killing Scylla) ''I could just eat you up... And I did! Ahahah!''
* ExtremeOmnivore: Surprisingly, [[GameplayAndStorySegregation despite the lore given for him,]] the only things he ''can't'' eat are the playable characters.
* FamilyUnfriendlyDeath: Before his remodel, his head ''popped off his shoulders'' and flew up into the air, accompanied by a spurt of the same green liquid (presumably his stomach bile, or perhaps just his bodily fluids in general) seen in his ultimate.
* FixedDamageAttack: The additional damage from activating ''Butcher Blades'' doesn't scale with power.
* FlowerMouth: His Demogorgon skin's entire head can split open into five petal-like mandibles.
* GuestFighter: The 2021 ''Series/StrangerThings'' collaboration gives him a skin that makes him into the Demogorgon.
* HorrorHunger: Incarnate.
* ImAHumanitarian: Bakasura's ''Eat Minion'' ability has him do [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin just that to enemy minions and monsters.]] Eating up to six makes his ''Regurgitate'' ultimate more powerful.
** [[ExtremeOmnivore He can even eat Nu Wa's]] ''[[ExtremeOmnivore Clay Minions.]]'' [[{{Squick}} Or those of a enemy Bakasura.]]
* InTheHood: Bakasura's face is usually covered by a hood casting a shadow over his entire face. His ghastly visage, which includes MoreTeethThanTheOsmondFamily and ExtraEyes, is revealed from using some of his abilities and shown on his icons.
** His remodel made his face visible but strongly resemble a skull with huge teeth and a bifurcated lower jaw.
* MagikarpPower: Early game Bakasura is fairly weak in fights due to his inability to deal any damage at all outside of melee range, making him very easy to kite. However, once he builds his core item (Hastened Fatalis) and some additional attack speed items, he becomes much harder to run from and deals incredible DPS with his true-damage steroid.
* NightmareFace: Pre-rework, when he decided to show his head for his ultimate, you ''knew'' it wasn't going to be any good news.
* OurDemonsAreDifferent: He's a Rakshasa, which is the closest Hindu equivalent to a true demon.
* PrimalStance: Pre-rework Bakasura was an impish, emaciated creature that ran using its blade-hands. Post-rework Bakasure has the body of a muscular human, but his movements are even less so than before. He uses his blades to walk whenever not in combat, he stands hunched over, and whenever not moving he twitches like some manner of rabid animal.
* RedAndBlackAndEvilAllOver: His Rage skin gives him crimson skin with black markings, giving him a resemblance to ComicBook/{{Carnage}}.
* ShoutOut:
** His old joke before the remodel had him confess [[Film/AustinPowers "I eat because I'm sad. I'm sad because I eat. It's a vicious cycle."]]
** In the rework:
---> [[Film/TheAvengers2012 "You want to know my secret? I'm always hungry!"]]
** His Rage skin is [[RedAndBlackAndEvilAllOver crimson with black markings,]] giving him a strong resemblance to ComicBook/{{Carnage}}. Fittingly, one of that skin's unique taunts is "ComicBook/MaximumCarnage!"
* SparedByAdaptation: Bhima apparently didn't kill him hard enough.

An army of demons in the past ravaged the land and slaughtered the people, even defeating Gods. The supreme goddess Devi then emerged to combat the demons and protect the faithful.\

First, she took form of the Mother of Creation, Durga. She fought off the demons with ease until she encountered Raktabija, who was quick to form up an army of clones based on the wounds he got. Furious at this, Durga's rage boiled that another form made an appearance from the forehead... Kali. And with that, she slaughtered Raktabija and all his clones, saving the people from the demons' evil.\

Kali afterwards was rarely seen, she is the Goddess of Destruction, but she specializes in the destruction of evil, and right now with Gods fighting everywhere, there's a lot of evil to be destroyed, thus Kali once again walks the Earth.\

Kali is an Assassin goddess who excels in tracking down a single target, not stopping until that target is slain.

* Her passive, ''Marked for Death'', allows her to select an enemy god. Kali's attacks gain extra penetration against that god, and she heals for most of her health on killing that god and for a portion of her health on an assist. Additionally, she receives extra gold when killing or assisting the target's death. When a mark dies, the god closest to her becomes her new target, but if Kali herself is killed, she chooses a new mark upon respawn.
* Kali's first ability, ''Nimble Strike'', has her leap to a target location, dealing damage to all enemies there. In addition, she is healed for 20% of the missing health of the most injured enemy hit.
* Her second ability, ''Lash'', throws out three blades, one forward and two on arcing paths. The blades converge at a distance of Kali's choosing. Each blade deals damage to enemies it passes through and applies a three second bleed. The bleed does not stack, but Kali gains extra lifesteal against bleeding targets.
* Kali's third ability, ''Incense'', has her smash the censer she carries against the ground, stunning all nearby enemies and increasing her power for a moderate duration.
* Using her ultimate ability, ''Destruction'', Kali becomes a whirling dervish of death, dealing damage to all nearby enemies. She cannot die while using ''Destruction'', and will be healed to 15% of her health if she is below that level at its end. She is also immune to knockbacks and roots, but not stuns.
----
* ActionMom: Technically is Ganesha's mother, as she is one of Parvati's forms.
* AnthropomorphicPersonification: Of time and destruction.
* ArtEvolution: Used to carry around a severed head, which was removed when her model was updated because it was considered unacceptable for the game's release in China (where images of severed heads, skulls, etc. are taboo). Also the only goddess to actually put on ''more'' clothes when receiving a new model, possibly due to complaints of over-sexualization from Hindu players.
* ArtificialLimbs: Her Safe Breaker skin's additional pair of arms are clearly mechanical.
* TheBerserker: Prior to her rework, other than rage and sadism, she didn't show many other emotions.
--> ''YOU WILL DIE SCREAMING!''
** Her [[GameplayAndStoryIntegration reworked kit encourages her to use this as her playstyle as well.]] If she's about to die, she can turn on her ultimate to gain death-immunity for a time. So long as she kills the target marked by her passive, she'll heal back to nearly full health afterwards.
* ChainmailBikini: Her Valkalli skin wears metal "armor" consisting of a bra, pauldrons, boots, and bracers, and a pair of belts, which still leave her belly and thighs exposed.
* CrutchCharacter: Pre-rework Kali was a caster who dominated the early game with abilities but rapidly became useless in late game.
** MagikarpPower: Post-rework Kali primarily relies on basic-attacking for damage and does very little until late game, at which point she becomes a terrifying hypercarry.
* DarkIsNotEvil: She's a revered Goddess of Destruction. Sounds evil on paper, until you realize that in Hindu mythology, destruction can also mean "destruction of evil" (which is why deities like Shiva was revered). Thus, Kali is the Goddess to call when there's evil to be destroyed. She's still scary as hell when doing her job.
* DeathOrGloryAttack: Invoked by a low-health Kali diving the target marked by her passive in hopes of getting the 80% heal. Doubly so if she's relying on her ultimate to stay alive while doing this. If she can successfully kill her target, Kali will heal back to nearly full health, but if her ultimate runs out first she's probably toast.
* DualWielding: Her main weapons are a sword and a scythe, though she always wields her incense as a weapon to stun enemies.
* EyepatchOfPower: The Skalliwag skin's right eye is covered by an eyepatch.
* GlassCannon: Post-rework Kali is encouraged to build this way. She has a lot of abilities that heal her but depend on doing damage and her ultimate makes her immune to most soft [=CC=]s and unable to die (you still lose health).
* LastChanceHitPoint: While her ultimate is active, she can be reduced to this and cannot die. If she is below 15% of her health once her ultimate expires, she will be healed to that amount.
* LighterAndSofter: After the rework, her AxCrazy side was definitely taken down a few notches. The biggest rise we see out of her is noting how she sometimes loses her temper.
* LifeDrain: She can lifesteal based on the damage she does, her leap heals her based on the victim's missing health, and she regenerates fully 80% of her health on killing her passive's target.
* MultiArmedAndDangerous: As with all traditional representations of Kali. Although the number varies, in this case she has four.
* NoSenseOfHumor: She doesn't seem to think that humor is proper, and she kinda sucks at it.
-->''Ugh.''
* PirateGirl: She has a pirate-themed skin, Skalliwag.
* ShoutOut: Her Trophy Hunter Skin is based off the [[Film/{{Predator}} Yautja]] armor.

Ravana was an infamous demon king from the region of Lanka. He was a peerless leader amongst fiends and monsters, in addition to being a master combatant and a genius scholar. But there was one thing he lacked: Immortality. Ravana sought such strength by devoting himself to the God of Destruction, Shiva. Despite Shiva's constant silence and rejection, Ravana continued his devotion and even went so far as to cut off his own head, which regenerated, but it didn't even move Shiva until Ravana decapitated himself for the tenth time. With that, Shiva granted him a boon that was quite equal with immortality: Invulnerability against anyone whom he saw as a threat, be it Gods or Demons.\

With all his preparations ready, Ravana amassed his army to conquer the world, defeating even famous heroes like Hanuman the Monkey King. It seemed like Ravana would be completely unstoppable, but if immortals couldn't harm him, then perhaps mortals could. For that, Vishnu incarnated as Rama and eventually challenged Ravana. Ravana answered in kind, but not after he kidnapped Rama's wife Sita, setting the stage for a rivalry that would shake the world.\

Ravana is a former Warrior (now an Assassin) due to that he becomes tougher to kill the longer he persists in a fight.
* His passive, ''Chain of Blows'', gives Ravana a shield for 7% of his max health for every eight hits on an enemy, stacking up to three times. Each layer of shield also increases his movement speed.
* Ravana's first ability, ''Prana Onslaught'', hits all enemies in a cone in front of Ravana, slowing them by 25% for 2.5 seconds.
* His second ability, ''Overhead Kick'', has Ravana send a shockwave forward to damage all enemies in a line, gaining a large burst of movement speed and becoming completely untargetable during the casting time while also cleansing soft crowd control.
* His third ability, ''10-Hand Shadow Fist'', damages all enemies, passing through minions and rooting the first god hit. Each enemy hit restores Ravana's HP.
* His ultimate, ''Mystic Rush'', causes Ravana to leap to a target location, smashing any enemies at the landing point. Ravana gains damage mitigation for a few seconds after landing, while enemies hit take increased damage from all sources.
----
* AffablyEvil: For a Demon King, he sports a nonchalant attitude, shows distaste in taking lives and cares for his brother Kumbhakarna.
* ArchEnemy: For Rama, as in the latter's lore Ravana ups the ante of their conflict by [[IHaveYourWife kidnapping his wife Sita.]]
* BareFistedMonk: He only uses his limbs for attacking, and he does it with style.
* BadassBoast: He has quite a few as taunts or low-health lines, such as "I stopped the very sun and moon in the sky, you should be no problem."
* BigRedDevil: Technically, while he's not a "devil" or "demon" in the Western sense, he is called a Demon in the Hindu sense and is very obviously bright red.
* {{Combo}}: His passive, ''Chain of Blows'', encourages such.
* {{Determinator}}: Not only did he gain his powers from genuine and extreme devotion to Shiva, one of his low-health lines is "Even if my heads were to fly from my shoulders, I would not fall."
* EvilOverlord: As one would expect from a ''Demon King''.
* GeniusBruiser: It's right up there in his lore. He's "A master of combat, a genius scholar."
* GuestFighter: Has two Exclusive skins that turns him into Oroku Saki, alias the Shredder, leader of the Foot Clan and ArchEnemy of the Franchise/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles. The variant has him go into his [[OneWingedAngel Super Shredder]] form.
* TheGhost: Formerly. He was first only mentioned as Kumbhakarna's brother, then played a prominent role in Rama's lore before finally becoming playable.
* LightningBruiser: Ravana is encouraged to constantly keep up his assault in order to keep his shield going, so he tends to build more for damage and attack speed as opposed to defense. The shield mixed with his ''Overhead Kick'' grants him even greater survivability, and he's quite good at chasing somebody down, whether by going right to them with his ult or by holding them in place with ''10-Hand Shadow Fist''.
* MultipleHeadCase: Averted for his in-game appearance despite his ten heads being a prominent part of his traditional depictions. When his other heads do appear, they float in a ring around him instead of being attached to his neck.
* OffWithHisHead: His own. Ten times, in fact, until Shiva was appeased and granted him NighInvulnerability against immortals. While he appears with just one head, his other heads show up in his recall animation and his victory animation.
* ThreePointLanding: Mystic Rush's animation is pretty much just this, him hitting the ground with his right fist.
* WalkingShirtlessScene: Most of Ravana's skins wear very little on his chest.
* WeWillMeetAgain: Says "We will meet again, in this life or the next..." as one of his death quotes.

After Ravana gained the boon of invulnerability, he was practically invincible as he laid waste to the world, with no Gods or Beasts able to defeat him. Technically, mortals could, but in Ravana's eyes, they would be too puny to even become a threat.\

For that, Vishnu took on another human form for the seventh time, this time as the Prince of Ayodhya, Rama.\

Being an incarnation of God, Rama is pretty much everything man asked for that they couldn't attain due to flaws. He's strong, humble, handsome, patient, devout and he got all those at the age of 16.\

At one point, Rama and his brother Lakshmana traveled to a neighboring kingdom to aid them against Ravana's demons and freeing their queen from a curse of stone. In its celebration, Rama was invited to string Shiva's bow, if he could do it, he would also win the hand of the princess Sita in marriage. Rama then broke the bow in half, winning the contest and marriage.\

He was supposed to go home and became the crown prince, but thanks to the plot of queen Kaikeyi who was jealous of him, Rama ended up framed for a crime and forced into exile.\

He stayed at his exile for fourteen years, but around that time, Sita went missing; Ravana took his defense against the kingdom as a challenge so he replied by kidnapping Sita. Rama then stepped out of his exile, to save his wife, defeat Ravana and fulfill his destiny and set mankind to its right path.\

Rama is a Hunter god whose abilities all empower his basic attacks in some way.
* His passive, ''Astral Quiver'', generates and stores up to five Astral Arrows, which are consumed by some of his other abilities. One arrow is generated every twelve seconds, but every successful attack Rama lands will reduce that by two seconds. Whenever an Astral Arrow-boosted ability lands, an Astral Arrow has a chance to drop at the location of the first enemy hit by it. Rama can pick up the dropped arrows to resupply his quiver, restore a small amount of mana, and slightly reduce the cooldown of ''Astral Barrage''.
* His first ability, ''Astral Strike'', is a togglable ability where Rama enters a state where he uses his Astral Arrows to attack, allowing his basic to pierce through walls and enemies, deal slightly increased damage, and apply a stacking slow debuff. Each shot consumes a small amount of mana and an Astral Arrow.
* His second ability, ''Infinite Arrows'', has Rama focus to gain a large Attack Speed increase. While Rama is focused, every three hits on enemy gods will restore an Astral Arrow.
* His third ability, ''Rolling Assault'', makes Rama perform a rapid dodge roll in the direction he is currently moving in. Additionally, the next attack will consume an Astral Arrow if available, making the next shot deal increased damage and cripple the target hit.
* Using his ultimate ability, ''Astral Barrage'', Rama leaps into the sky, protecting him from harm, giving him a commanding view of the battlefield, and letting him release three arrows at any spot within the ability's immense range. Each arrow deals more damage in a smaller area than the one before it.
----
* ArchEnemy: Ravana.
* TheAce: Because he's an incarnation of Vishnu, he possesses every great thing that mankind aspires to have.
* AllLovingHero: Ferocious to his enemies, but a great ally and friend to have.
* AlwaysSaveTheGirl: Driven to save his wife Sita, aside of kicking Ravana's ass again and protecting mankind.
* BadassNormal: Though he's a GodInHumanForm, he's still physically human (since only a mortal can kill Ravana) and for nearly six years before the introduction of CĂș Chulainn, Merlin and Arthur he was the only mortal in ''SMITE''. Regardless, he still possesses enough raw skill and talent to pose a threat to immortal deities.
* BoisterousBruiser[=/=]BloodKnight: His Last Stand skin, which gives him a hammy, Stallone-esque voice (as a shout-out to Franchise/{{Rambo}}) and makes him quite fight-happy, displaying uncharacteristic glee at his kills.
* BottomlessMagazines: Played with. He never runs out of normal arrows, but managing his limited supply of Astral Arrows is a crucial part of playing him.
* BoringButPractical: Rama's normal abilities simply provide buffs to his basic attacks, increasing their damage, firing them faster, and causing them to apply CC effects. He doesn't have anything more flashy than just shooting arrows at you, but if you find yourself on the wrong end of them while his steroids are active he can melt your health bar in a big hurry. The exception is his ultimate, which is more of....
* DifficultButAwesome: ''Astral Barrage'' deals a ton of damage if all three shots hit, but the majority of it is in the second and especially the third hits, which are quite difficult as they have small AOEs and a significant delay before contact, requiring you to predict the enemy's movement. Additionally, since his damage outside of his ultimate ''all'' relies on hitting basic attacks, he's one of the tougher Hunters to play since you'll be almost entirely focused on landing the thin skillshots that are basic attacks.
* EnhancedArchaicWeapon: His Orbital Strike skin wields a futuristic-looking bow.
* GoodIsNotSoft: He's definitely a nice AllLovingHero, but he shows a grim determination to wipe out Ravana's forces. Killing an enemy Kumbhakarna just makes him remark that Kumbha's brother (Ravana) is next.
* HerdHittingAttack: His first ability turns his basic attacks into these.
* SacredBowAndArrows: He wields the Bow of Shiva, a divine bow which only he could string. He uses it to shoot magical arrows that generate themselves as he fights.
* NoSenseOfHumor: Much like Tyr before him, he refuses to joke. Unless he's wearing a skin.
* ShoutOut: Rama remarks that Hun Batz look familiar to him. Who does that remind him of? [[Literature/{{Ramayana}} His monkey friend Hanuman.]]
* TheExile: Rama had this status after being wed with Sita.
* WalkingShirtlessScene: The only things worn by his Last Commando skin on his waist are a bandana and a pair of harnesses.
* WarriorPrince: Due to expressly being born for the purpose of fighting Ravana.
