[[folder:In General]]
* {{Expy}}: They're expies to [[WesternAnimation/{{Brickleberry}} the park rangers of Brickleberry National Park]].
* GeorgeJetsonJobSecurity: Thanks to their boss being just as crooked and backwards as they are, the cops rarely ever lose their jobs for their crimes and wrongdoings and even if they do, [[StatusQuoIsGod they always get their jobs back in the end]], usually for utter bullshit reasons.
* HatedByAll: Police are very poorly received by the citizens of Paradise, almost as bad as Kathy Griffin. The reasons for it vary, though for the most part, it's because of their history of corruption, incompetence, racism, and general stupidity. This only got 1000x worse in Season 2, when [[spoiler:Kevin confessed to wrongfully arresting Dusty Marlow, an innocent man and having him sent to max security prison, under the false pretense that he was the kingpin of a meth corporation.]]
* RabidCop: They're all this, pretty much. Whenever they arrest somebody, they never just cuff the perp and go. They need to make a [[KickTheDog big elaborate, overdramatic scene about it]], destroying everything else in sight, even if they're just arresting a minor felon.
* RagtagBunchOfMisfits: They're composed of a RabidCop, DirtyOldMan, OccidentalOtaku, an immature LoserProtagonist, a FatIdiot, and a [[OxymoronicBeing drug-addicted drug dog]]. In terms of non-official cops, they also had a nihilistic PoliticallyIncorrectHero with ALS, straight and gay ConjoinedTwins, a PungeonMaster, and a stereotypical hobo.
* PoliceAreUseless: All of the cops are pathetic in their own special ways. Even Gina manages to let true criminals get away, while she distracts herself with a litterbug or jaywalker.
* PoliceBrutality: Paradise PD even has a plaque on their wall, awarding them for their outstanding use of excessive force.
* UnsympatheticComedyProtagonist: With the exception of Kevin, they are all morally screwed up individuals who simply have their own interests in mind when doing their duties.

[[folder:Kevin Crawford]]
!!Kevin (AKA "Asshole Formerly Known as Kevin" 'AFKAK'") Pubesalad Crawford
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kevin_crawford.png]]
->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/DavidHerman
A delightfully air-headed, and terribly destructive 18-year-old boy, who aspires to be a cop, just like his dad. Unfortunately, because of his tendency to screw up, lose focus, make mistakes, and shoot people in the testicles, his father doesn't trust him to handle his life-long dream.
----
* TheAllegedCar: His Pacer, which can hardly go five minutes without breaking down.
* BadJobWorseUniform:
** Because Randall doesn't give him any true responsibility, he assigns Kevin to really stupid, lower-tier cop jobs. For instance, in the first episode, he made him a crossing guard, wearing a flashy uniform, that even he admitted was stupid.
--->'''Kevin:''' I failed you, dad. I should hand in my badge, ... and my crossing guard uniform.\
'''Randall:''' Kevin! Why the hell would I want those!?
** In "Ass on the Line", Kevin got a job, teaching a school of children about sexual predators, while wearing a giant dog costume, with Xs of red tape on his genitalia.
* BlatantLies: Kevin is a shit liar but thankfully for him, he lives in an environment where almost everybody is terminally gullible and doesn't suspect a thing.
* BreakTheCutie: He's likely [[NiceGuy one of the sweetest characters in the show]]. A show which loves putting him through hell.
* BrokenPedestal:
** In "The Father, The Son, and The Post-It Note", Kevin lost all respect for [[spoiler:his formerly idolized father, once he found out he was a petty, jealous criminal, who broke into the FBI]].
** He also lost faith in his mother after she legalized meth and repeatedly stepped on the rights of flipper people to stay mayor. [[spoiler:Enough that he voted for Fitz instead of her.]]
* ButtMonkey: On account of his stupidity, he gets himself severely injured a lot.
* CallingTheOldManOut: On several occasions, he has called out both of his parents (Randall in particular) for their mistreatment of him.
* CannotTalkToWomen:
** In "Karla", he proved to be a really shitty boyfriend, taking his date to an abortion-themed demolition derby, where she was barfed and pissed on by a bunch of loud, obnoxious hillbillies.
** In "Operation DD", he had the power to disintegrate a pussy just by talking nerdy to it.
--->'''Kevin:''' Here's why ''Manga/MyHeroAcademia'' is the greatest anime of the new Japanese renaissance.
* CargoShip: [[invoked]] Expresses sexual attraction for inanimate objects.
* CharacterDevelopment:
** In Season 2, Kevin became a more competent, well-respected police officer.
** In Season 4, after spending most of the series being a ExtremeDoormat, Kevin learns to become more assertive and stand up to his emotionally abusive father.
* TheChewToy: Second only to Randall, he endures a lot of abuse and humiliation.
* CosmicPlaything: The universe of Paradise PD seems to be out to get him, as he cannot get a single break.
* CrappyHolidays:
** In "Parent Trap", he had a hell of a Thanksgiving, when his parents kicked him out of the house shortly after he got fired from his job and later had their family Thanksgiving dinner without him. Later that day, he fell into a sewer, got kidnapped by deformed flipper people, and nearly got forced to fuck a dolphin.
--->'''Randall:''' Hobo Cop is here! Finally, everybody I care about is together!
** In "Big Ball Energy", Karen made a new national holiday called "Kevin Sucks Day", an annual day that was all about hating Kevin.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: Kevin may seem like a complete moron... because he is. However, he can also be a real kick-ass cop, when it comes to fighting and arresting criminals.
* DisappointingOlderSibling: [[spoiler:In season 4, he becomes this to Baby Kevin, who gets a lot more respect than he does from his parents.]]
* DistressedDude: In "Paradise Found", Kevin was about to be blown to smithereens in a room full of C4 until Gina saved his life.
* TheDogBitesBack: In "Sack to the Future", [[spoiler:after a time-traveling experience, he stands up to Randall for his poor treatment of him and orders Randall to give him the respect he deserves]].
* DudeWheresMyRespect: Even when he actually stops a crisis or saves the day, everyone will still go back to hating him the very next minute.
* DumbassHasAPoint:
** PlayedWith yet PlayedForLaughs. While Kevin is a DumbassTeenageSon himself, he speculates in the second episode that a teacher had a "[[PornStash stash of kiddie porn]]". And it's revealed he was right.
** Played straight in the season 3 finale when he correct points out that [[spoiler:a [[ItMakesSenseInContext giant Dobby]] was going to destroy the town]].
* DumbassTeenageSon: Of sorts. While Kevin is Randall and Karen's son and he's legally classified as an adult, he's still technically a teenager. Nevertheless, he's shown to be unintelligent.
* DumbIsGood: He's not the sharpest tool in the box, and he frequently makes things worse with his stupidity, but he genuinely cares about upholding the law, while the rest of the police department is either corrupt or apathetic.
* EmbarrassingMiddleName: In "Operation DD", his father legally made his middle name [[spoiler:"Pubesalad"]], named after his great grandfather, [[spoiler:Pubesalad Crawford, (who's name is pronounced "Poo-Beh-Suh-Lawd")]]. Granted, it can't be any worse than his than whatever his parents originally wanted to name him when he was born.
-->'''Randall:''' We tried to give you a middle name when you were born but the doctor said it was a racial slur.
* EmbarrassingNickname: He's also known as "Car Fucker", "Merkin the Mage", [[spoiler:"Pubesalad"]], and [[spoiler:"AKFAK" ("Asshole Formerly Known as Kevin")]].
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: The first scene of the pilot is notable for him shooting his father in the testicles with a gun. This lets us know that Kevin is a clumsy dumbfuck who, although totally on accident, gives his father Hell even when trying to do good.
* EveryoneHasStandards: Kevin may have had sex with his own hand, a talking car, and even a watermelon, but in "Parent Trap", when the flipper people tries to make him have sex with a dolphin, he refused saying that if and when he fucks a dolphin, it will be because he wants to.
* {{Expy}}: He serves as one to [[WesternAnimation/{{Brickleberry}} Steve Williams]], even sharing [[Creator/DavidHerman the same voice actor]]. Both are the unintelligent, [[ManChild childish]], [[TeenyWeenie small]]-[[BreadEggsMilkSquick penised]] protagonists of their respective shows which love trying to break them[[labelnote:although]]Steve's case is more of an example of BreakTheHaughty while Kevin's case is BreakTheCutie[[/labelnote]]. They both [[WellDoneSonGuy want their fathers to be proud of them]] (more noticeable with Kevin), are insecure about themselves[[note]]though [[InferioritySuperiorityComplex Steve]] is better at hiding it[[/note]], get hurt often, and are friends with the [[TokenMinority token black guy]] of their respective groups[[note]]Fitz in Kevin's case, Denzel in Steve's case[[/note]]. Granted, Steve is [[ItsAllAboutMe self-centered]] (even if [[PetTheDog he does have his nicer moments]]) while Kevin is more of a NiceGuy.
* FatIdiot: Maybe not as fat as Dusty or even his ''Brickleberry'' counterpart Steve, but he's definitely stupid. For starters, he couldn't even come up with a fake-name for his ragtag team of cops[[note]]Handicop, Prop Cop, the conjoined twins[[/note]] other than "The [[LineOfSightName Police]]cees" when being grilled by Lady Gertrude who doesn't want cops on her circus.
* FreudianExcuse: Kevin's [[{{Manchild}} childish behavior]] and lack of independence and responsibility is mainly because his parents never wanted anything to do with him and were downright terrible parents. Even blaming him in particular for their divorce. {{Lampshaded|Trope}} by Randall, who admits that his personality is a result of them not raising him right.
* GagPenis: Kevin has been shown to have a small, grotesquely arched penis with a bunch of warts on it and a horrifying dorsal slit from a botched circumcision.
* GeorgeJetsonJobSecurity: If it weren't for nepotism, Kevin would have been fired for his trigger-happy gunfire incident in the video store in the first episode.
* TheGift: May be a shitty cop, but he graduated college with an "A" in metal shop.
* HatedByAll: By the whole town of Paradise, including his own ''[[AbusiveParents parents]]'', who even make a ''holiday'' based solely on his misery.
* HeroWorshipper: Sees his father as an idol and his inspiration for wanting to become a cop.
%% * HeterosexualLifePartners: With Fitz.
* HiddenDepths: While an [[IdiotHero idiot]], Kevin attempts to do ''actual'' police work to find the kingpin behind argyle meth. This leads to said kingpin planning on having him killed for getting too close.
* HilariouslyAbusiveChildhood: His father resents him while his mom usually either joins him in making jokes at his expense or forces him to be a human guinea pig in her schemes to get re-elected.
* HumbleGoal: To be a cop, just like his dad.
* IdiotHero: Is one of the main heroes, and is a DumbassTeenageSon.
* IJustShotMarvinInTheFace: When he was five years old, he found his father's service pistol and began playing with it, and ended up shooting his father's testicles off.
* KindheartedSimpleton: Despite his stupidity, he tries to see the best in people and genuinely wants to make his city a better place.
* LethallyStupid: Despite his good intentions, his stupidity frequently creates more harm than good, particularly for his father whose testicles were blown off by him when he was younger.
* LikeFatherUnlikeSon: His father Randall is abrasive and corrupt, and he is only driven to solve crimes when they involve payment. Kevin himself, while misguided, is outgoing and friendly and tries his best to assist the residents of Paradise.
* LoserProtagonist: Kevin is a nervous wreck, an 18-year-old nerdy virgin, and has not a lick of confidence. He also causes more harm than good by [[UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom unknowingly aiding the show's antagonists]] like unleashing Satan through a board game or [[spoiler:wrongly getting Dusty convicted of being a drug dealer]]. He also still lives in his parents' house, where he spends all his days watching stupid {{anime}} and playing with toys.
* {{Manchild}}: He's 18 years old, and still acts the way he did when he was 5. Best exemplified when it turns out [[spoiler:he still needs his mom to sing to him as he uses the toilet]].
* MasculineGirlFeminineBoy: [[spoiler:Becomes the Feminine Boy to Gina's Masculine Girl in Season 3, when Gina becomes a badass bruiser who can take on an entire army all at once and Kevin becomes simpering little pussy, unable to fight even a baby.]].
* TheMillstone: Whenever he tries to help out the police squad, he usually just makes things worse.
* MommasBoy: Karen still babies her son, even well into his late teen years. Epitomized in "Who Ate Wally's Waffles?", when [[spoiler:Kevin needed his mommy to sit him down on a choo choo train shaped potty and sing a song with him as he makes poopies]].
* MoralityPet: To Gina. Kevin is one of the few, if only, people whom Gina shows any kindness towards, [[spoiler:even falling in love with him eventually]].
* NiceGuy: Flaws aside, one cannot deny that Kevin is incredibly kindhearted, moral, and unlike his fellow officers is genuinely trying to make Paradise a safe place.
* NoSocialSkills: He cannot socialize with others without mentioning something inappropriate or offensive. {{Justified|Trope}} given Randall and Karen's rather subpar parenting skills.
* OnceDoneNeverForgotten: Shooting his father in the testicles by accident when he was five. His father still resents him for it.
* OopsIDidItAgain: The sole reason Randall didn't want him to be a cop was because of him shooting him in the testicles. That kind of irresponsible gun use happened again, first day on the job, when he shot up an entire video store.
-->'''Randall:''' Kevin! This is exactly why I didn't want you on my police force! Do you know how much damage you did to that video store?\
'''Kevin:''' $5?\
'''Randall:''' 11.\
'''Kevin:''' Honestly, I thought you'd be more angry since I stole a gun and [[DidIJustSayThatOutLoud used the last of our bullets.]]\
'''Randall:''' You did '''''what?!''''' ''(puts on several testosterone patches to unleash his fury on Kevin)''
* ShoutingShooter: While shooting, he always screams... in terror.
* TeenyWeenie: A LoserProtagonist with a small penis. HilarityEnsues.
* TokenGoodTeammate: The only member of the police force who hasn't done something vehemently criminal, deplorable, or downright villainous.
* TraumaCongaLine: He endures a lot of humiliation and abuse throughout the series, particularly in the final two seasons.
* TheUnFavorite: [[spoiler:Became this to his parents after the birth of his young brother.]]
* WellDoneSonGuy: Lives for the approval of his father and wishes to someday regain the respect he had for him back when he was still a child.
* {{Workaholic}}: Kevin is deadset on finding the kingpin and spends countless hours looking through evidence, even when everybody else doesn't give a shit.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Randall Crawford]]
!!Chief Randall Crawford
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kevin_becomes_a_cop.png]]
[[caption-width-right:300:"You SUCK, Kevin!"]]
->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/TomKenny
The [[DrillSergeantNasty screaming, gaudy commander and chief]] of Paradise P.D. and the father of Kevin. Ever since losing his testicles, he's been a miserable, downtrodden mess, making up for his broken manhood, by barking out orders at his employees and smothering himself in testosterone patches.
----
* AbusiveParents: He's not the nicest father to Kevin, constantly berating him for being a failure and even addressing him with awful nicknames[[note]]"AFKAK" ("Asshole Formerly Known as Kevin") and "Pubesalad"[[/note]]. This mostly stems from Kevin accidentally shooting off both his testicles with a pistol as a child, hence ruining his marriage with Karen.
* AllOfTheOtherReindeer: [[spoiler:Heavily implied, if not outright stated, in "Dungeons & Dragnet"; it reveals that, when he was in school, he got owned by the special needs kids, the football team, and the gal's swim team]].
* ArchEnemy:
** Dean Hancock from a rival police station, the Diamond City PD.
** Becomes this to Elon Musk in season 4, who [[MakesJustAsMuchSenseInContext launches him into space with his toilet and has his brain switched with a squirrel]], among other things.
* BadBoss: He tries to [[ElderAbuse get rid of]] Hopson all the time, though considering that Hopson's obviously unfit to be a cop, it's understandable that he'd want him gone. Bullet's also complained Randall never pays him.
* BadLiar: Tries lying to Bullet in the season 3 finale that he prevented the dinosaurs from going extinct via {{Time Travel}}ling and singing [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pump_Up_the_Jam "Pump Up the Jam"]] at the meteor. Unsurprisingly, it didn't work.
* BerserkButton: Just about anything going less than perfectly, will make Randall snap and start screaming profanities left and right, thinking that it will make things better.
* BlackComedyRape: Randall was molested by his scoutmaster when he was a child, as mentioned in a number of one-off jokes.
* BrokenBird: Ever since he was shot in the testicles and was dumped by his wife, Randall has been "shitting rainbows", as he sarcastically put it. You can really tell how much this damaged him, as he was such a happy-go-lucky guy, before the incident, compared to the fat, depressing old man he is now.
* ButtMonkey: He's the show's residential ChewToy. It began when Kevin ruined his life by shooting his testicles, costing Randall his marriage to Karen and forcing him to take testosterone patches to avoid growing enormous man-boobs. Though Kevin helps Randall get back with Karen again in episode 9.
* {{Catchphrase}}: "You SUCK, Kevin!!"
* CharacterDevelopment: Come season three, he still treats Kevin like a screw-up, but now he acknowledges that he and Karen are to blame for that.
%% * ClashingCousins: With his cousin, [[spoiler:Woody Johnson]].
* ConspiracyTheorist: In "Ass on the Line", we learn that he's a flat-earther.
* CrazyJealousGuy: In his debut, Randall gets jealous over "Dr. Dinkle" when Karen (his ex-wife) falls in love with him.
* CripplingCastration: He was accidentally shot in the groin by Kevin when the latter was five years old. The incident left a deep mark on him, causing him to adopt a cantankerous, ultra-macho persona to cope with the fact that his body could no longer produce testosterone.
* DarkSecret: Has many.
** [[spoiler:In his youth, he was the greatest D&D player of all.]]
** [[spoiler:During the night he stood up Kevin's mother and got drunk, he became a stripper called Summer Sausage and is terribly ashamed of it.]]
* DCupDistress: Gender-swapped as he's embarrassed about his large boobs. However, the season 3 finale reveals he sometime dropped the "Distress" part.
* DeadpanSnarker: Not so much on the "Deadpan" part, but he can still be snarky when he wants to be.
-->'''Kevin:''' Good morning. How's my favorite dad?\
'''Randall:''' Kevin, I'm a divorced guy [[ItMakesSenseInContext with no balls]] who has to wear a testosterone patch to keep his moustache from falling out. [[SuddenlyShouting So I'm shitting rainbows]]! ''[[SarcasmMode Yeah]]!''
* {{Deuteragonist}}: As Kevin's father, he's the secondary main character of the series.
* DrillSergeantNasty: Screams and yells at everybody.
* EvenBadMenLoveTheirMamas: Really hates Dean Hancock for marrying and [[IBangedYourMom fucking his mother]].
-->'''Randall:''' Still jealous that I was in your wife and sucking them titties before you were?
* EvenTheGuysWantHim: Other male characters usually can't help but be attracted to him whenever his boobs are out, which is [[PlayedForLaughs played as seriously as you'd expect]].
%% * {{Expy}}: Of [[WesternAnimation/{{Brickleberry}} Woody Johnson]], even sharing the same voice actor.
* FatBastard: Though nowhere near as as fat as Dusty, he's still noticeably out-of-shape, as well as irritable and unpleasant for the most part.
* FormerlyFit: He was in his prime in his earlier years as a police chief. Nowadays, he is overweight and has health issues (including constipation).
%% * GagPenis: Or testicles, which he adopts in "Big Ball Energy".
* GreenAndMean: When not in his police uniform, he frequently sports a dark green t-shirt. He is also a bigoted man with anger issues.
* HairTriggerTemper: He has the tendency to lose his temper at the drop of a hat, usually from Kevin's stupidity.
* HeelRealization: In the second half of season 2, he and Karen realize what bad parents they were to Kevin upon watching one of his childhood memories involving them insulting him behind his back.
* HeManWomanHater: Part of the reason his wife divorced him is because he was a total sexist. In "Tucker Carlson is a Huge Dick", the depths of Randall's misogyny is explored even more, when he admits that he gives all his male employees a 20% "penis bonus", making Gina earn that much less than her co-workers. He later quit Paradise P.D. assembled an all-male police force for no reason at all.
* {{Hypocrite}}: He belittles his son as an idiot and a loser not fit to be in the police force, but he's hardly a model cop himself. [[spoiler:In fact, it's his own failure as a police officer that causes his wife to have enough and fire him and the rest of the PD]].
* InsaneTrollLogic: Believes "Pump Up the Jam" will solve ''anything'', from [[MakesJustAsMuchSenseInContext saving the dinosaurs from extinction to stopping a giant Dobby from destroying the town]]. [[spoiler:It doesn't work; the latter actually gets him fired.]]
* IWasQuiteALooker: He was something of a hunk during his past. In present day, he is fat and balding.
* JerkassHasAPoint:
** As harsh as he about it, Randall is not incorrect to call Kevin out for his screw-ups sometimes.
** Although he doesn't treat Hopson well either, Randall's behavior toward him is rather understandable given the latter's perverted and senile disposition, which gets in the way of everything.
* JerkassToOne: He despises [[DirtyOldMan Hopson]] the most out of everyone and comes up with any opportunity to get rid of him, whether it be throwing him in the woods or putting him in a nursing home.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: He is a stubborn and sexist asshole, but at the end of the day he cares about protecting his city and does genuinely love and care about his son deep down.
* KarmicButtMonkey: He tends to suffer a lot, often from Kevin's stupidity, but given what a bigot he is, it's usually warranted.
* LargeHam: He is quite loud and overdramatic for the most part. Since he's voiced by Tom Kenny, it's a given.
* LikeFatherUnlikeSon: Randall is abrasive and corrupt, and he is only driven to solve crimes when they involve payment. His son Kevin, while misguided, is outgoing and friendly and tries his best to assist the residents of Paradise.
* MenAreTough: Has to use testosterone patches to keep up with this.
* NewOldFlame: [[spoiler:He and his wife got back together and started fucking non-stop.]]
* NeverMyFault:
** One of the reasons why Karen left him is because he cannot admit when he’s wrong (and this seems to be true as when Kevin points it out to Randall, he utterly dismisses it). [[CharacterDevelopment He seems to be growing out of it though.]]
** He also blames Kevin for having his testicles shot, when he himself was the one who never considered keeping the gun out of little Kevin's reach.
* NominalHero: He is a dedicated police officer who will stop any crime in the town... if it means he gets his paycheck. Besides that, he is also a deeply unpleasant man with anger issues.
* NoRespectGuy: In "Karla", he sold a pocket watch, which was given to him by his deceased grandfather on his deathbed. Why did he need the money? For drugs.
* OnlyInItForTheMoney: In "Dungeons & Dragnet". Randall arrested everybody in Paradise, who played ''[[TabletopGame/DungeonsAndDragons Dungeons & Dragons]]'', because the church thought it was Satanic. Not that he agreed with the church, he just heard there was a big stack of reward money in it for him, if he rid the city of that game. Though he does admit he has some personal hatred for that game cause it ruined his life for the fact it got him beaten up and bullied by everyone at school.
* OnlySaneEmployee: A PlayedWith example. Randall usually stands out as more balanced than his employees, like having to restrain Gina when she goes a little too AxCrazy with her brutality towards criminals, calling out [[ManChild Dusty for behaving too childishly]], or rebuking Kevin each time he screws up. However, it's still made clear that Randall is incompetent at his job. Which is especially notable when he [[spoiler:caused his entire crew to be fired via singing "Pump Up the Jam" when [[AttackofThe50FootWhatever a gigantic Dobby was attacking Paradise]]]].
* PerpetualFrowner: He is almost never shown smiling, mostly due to his trauma of losing both his testicles years prior.
* PointyHairedBoss: He specializes in cutting corners, resulting in an unkept working environment; he sets up a prohibition just to spite his wife (who is also the mayor of Paradise); he gets distracted during most of his cases; and he fails to keep his dysfunctional workers in line.
* PoliticallyIncorrectHero: He's racist, sexist, ageist, and part of a RagtagBunchOfMisfits.
* RecoveredAddict: Became a heroin addict in "Karla" after he ate some fried chicken spiked with that drug by Dusty, and went through a long, painful recovery, in getting [[StatusQuoIsGod back to normal]].
* SanitySlippage: In "Ass on the Line", he completely lost it, when focusing on finding out who "The Mole" was.
* SharedFamilyQuirks: His cousin [[spoiler:Woody is similar to him; they're both jerkish, politically incorrect, and prone to anger]].
* SirSwearsALot: Screams and curses like a madman, whenever he gets mad.
* SourOutsideSadInside: Beneath his cantankerous exterior, he's very depressed and insecure.
* StrawMisogynist: A paranoid one as it turns out he pays Gina a lower salary because he fears that equal pay for women would lead to female hegemony in the future.
* StrongFamilyResemblance: He and his mother look similar to each other, [[https://paradise-pd.fandom.com/wiki/Mavis_Hancock?file=Randall%2527s_Mother.png especially after they got older]].
* TestosteronePoisoning: Put on ''way'' too many testosterone patches in "Welcome to Paradise", and hulked out, turning into a Red Hulk style car-crushing monster.
* UnstoppableRage: He turns into Red-Hulk upon realizing Kevin accidentally wasted all the bullets, crushing a police car and tossing it away.
-->'''Fitz:''' Uh, Chief. You know that's ''your'' car, right?
* UnsympatheticComedyProtagonist: Though not to the extent of [[WesternAnimation/{{Brickleberry}} his cousin]], he is nonetheless a bigoted, corrupt, ill-tempered asshole.
%% * WorkingWithTheEx: Has to put up with his ex-wife on occasion.
* YourAnswerToEverything: His answer to any problem situation, whether it's being caught sleeping with a guys wife, being caught shitting in the Bellagio fountain, or the meteor about to wipe out the dinosaurs, is to sing 'Pump Up The Jam' by Technotronic and cause everybody to drop what their doing to dance. It actually works [[spoiler:though causing a giant Dobby in the middle of destroying the city to dance wildly is not the best course of action at the time]].

!!Bullet #6
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bullet_8.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:300:Never trust this guy with the evidence.]]
->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/KyleKinane
The drug-obsessed German Shepherd (though he claims he's also 1/23rd pitbull) who takes advantage of every chance he gets to smoke or snort some crack, coke, meth, weed, heroin, tobacco, inhalants, or anything else that could get him high. If that's not enough, he's also an alcoholic, and a crazed sex maniac.
----
* TheAlcoholic: Drugs aren't the only thing he's addicted to.
* AmbiguouslyBi: He's shown to be attracted to females and he got a boner from Randall growing tits at the end of the first episode. In addition to this, he has been shown to give oral to Robbie in exchange for illicit substances and put his member in the mouth of another male dog when he was in the Dog-Fighting Ring.
-->'''Bullet:''' I mean, ... I'm plumping up but you know, who cares? I'm a dog.
* BeliefMakesYouStupid: In "Dungeons & Dragnet", it's revealed that Bullet is a devout Atheist, who thinks that all religion is bullshit.
* BestialityIsDepraved:Inverted, as he dated and fucked a human being in "Dungeons & Dragnet". He also had a human Russian mail-order bride in "Task Force".
* BlatantLies: Tells this to Chastity in "Dungeons & Dragnet" to get her in bed with him.
* BrokenBird: Bullet states he's always so sullen and mostly looking out for himself because he was taken away from his mother and sold off as a Christmas present when he was a puppy.
* CaptainErsatz: He's one to [[WesternAnimation/{{Brickleberry}} Malloy]]. Like him, Bullet is the snarky, anthropomorphic token animal of a group who doesn't believe in {{God}} and has a FreudianExcuse which involves his family.[[note]]Bullet was separated from his family as a puppy and given to someone, who's implied to be a stranger, as a Christmas gift. Malloy's backstory reveals [[HarmfulToMinors he found his parents after they were shot in their heads]]. And he experienced his mother give him her JustForFun/FamousLastWords, which were her telling him to not forget them or where he came from.[[/note]] However, the two have their differences. For instance, Bullet is much less of a dick than Malloy, not spouting out a bunch of insults to everyone on the team every five seconds. He's also not the adored pet animal of Randall.
* CheerfulChild: It's {{implied|trope}} he was this when he was younger; a flashback in the season 3 finale depicts him as a happy [[BabyTalk wittle]] puppy.
* CloudCuckoolander: Due to his drug addiction and alcoholism, he's always too drunk to give a shit, during most crime cases.
* TheCobblersChildrenHaveNoShoes: His job as a drug dog is to make sure people don't to illegal drugs. However, he is best known for doing tons of illegal drugs, himself.
-->'''Bullet:''' [[InsaneTrollLogic How am I supposed to sniff out drugs if I don't know what it smells like?]]
* DarkAndTroubledPast: He {{discusse|dtrope}}s this in the season 1 finale; according to him, when he was a puppy, he was seperated from his family and given to (who's suggested to be) a stranger as an X-mas present.
* EvilDetectingDog: Bullet is able to find criminals, making him a good police officer.
* ExpressiveEars: There are times when his ears [[https://www.facebook.com/ParadisePDNetflix/photos/469701910196232/ move]] [[https://paradise-pd.fandom.com/wiki/PARAD-ISIS/Gallery?file=Bullet_Loses_His_Mind.png backwards]] or [[https://paradise-pd.fandom.com/wiki/Bullet/Gallery?file=Bullet_Realizes_He_Fucked_Up.png form a wider V-shape]] when he's upset.
* {{Expy}}: Isn't the [[WesternAnimation/FamilyGuy first time]] an adult animated sitcom had an [[TheAlcoholic alcoholic]] talking dog who doesn't believe in God and dates human beings.
* FantasticRacism: In "Ass on the Line", Bullet was offended, when Kevin wore a dog costume, saying that it was the canine equivalent of [[{{Blackface}} blackface]].
* FreeRangePets: Bullet doesn't seem to have an owner, as he's really just "the company pet". He also doesn't have a home of his own and just sleeps at the police station.
* FreudianExcuse: Back when he was just a puppy, Bullet was separated from his family and given to someone (implied to be a stranger) as a Christmas present like he was an object. It's also {{implied|trope}} that this is why he's a jerk, though it's clear this is why he hates Christmas.
* FunctionalAddict: He does TONS of drugs, yet he’s still on the force and mostly acts normal.
* FunnyAnimal: He's a talking dog, who works as a corrupt police officer.
* FurryReminder: Bullet pestered Randall to buy him an expensive doghouse in "Karla". To shut him up, Randall taunted Bullet with a chew toy, which Bullet couldn't resist fetching like a stereotypical canine.
* HaveIMentionedIAmHeterosexualToday: Averted. Bullet is straight but he doesn't give a fuck if he has to do anything gay. For instance, in "Meet the Jabowskis", Bullet easily came up with the lie that he and Fitz were a gay couple so they could go in disguise at the honeymoon motel. Fitz cringed over having to look gay but Bullet just went along with the act like it was nothing.
-->''[Randall's testosterone patches wear off and he grows giant tits]''
-->'''Bullet:''' I mean, I'm plumping up over them but, you know, who cares? I'm a dog.
* TheHedonist: Bullet wants to do drugs and have sex, and that's pretty much the extent of his interests.
* HeroicDog: A police dog who stops drug-dealers... when he's not doing drugs himself.
* HiddenHeartOfGold: He does genuinely care about the other members of the police department.
* HollywoodAtheist: Bullet is an atheist who only pretended to be Christian (and heavily altered a bible) to score oral sex from an attractive blonde Christian girl. His Brickleberry counterpart Malloy was also an atheist.
* HumanlikeAnimalAging: Bullet has brought up the "dog years" gag a few times in the show.
-->'''Fitz:''' Bullet! I told you to wait fifteen minues!
-->'''Bullet:''' I waited fifteen ''dog'' minutes. You gotta specify!
* InkSuitActor: He is pretty much a dog version of Kyle Kinane. His human form looks ''exactly'' like Kinane.
* InsaneTrollLogic: Bullet is a drug dog, whose job is to sniff out drugs like cocaine. So, how can he recognize the scent of cocaine if he doesn't sniff a few bars of it, himself?
* InsultToRocks: Drank a bag of Hopson's piss in "Parent Trap", having mistaken it for beer. While disgusted he drank piss, he was relieved that it wasn't Coors.
* ItsAllAboutMe: Less so than The Kingpin, but Bullet is often self-centered. PlayedForLaughs in "Tucker Carlson is a Huge Dick" when he has no interest in helping a store cashier who was being robbed at gunpoint by Robby and Delbert; he only cared about using the store's restroom.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Despite being a CaptainErsatz of [[WesternAnimation/{{Brickleberry}} Malloy]] (who's a textbook jerkass), Bullet is shown to actually be a nice guy deep-down. He cares about his co-workers and holds many of them in high regard. Even Dusty, as seen in "Karla", is a respected figure in Bullet's eyes and if Dusty can earn Bullet's respect, you know he's a damn good guy.
* KavorkaMan: Beyond being a mangy mutt, he's also a drug addict, with his life in the dump. Yet, he managed to bag a beautiful church girl in "Dungeons & Dragnet".
* MeaningfulName: His name is Bullet and as a cop, he uses guns.
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone:
** Bullet had his first and last moment, when he killed all his friends with argyle meth. This shook him so terribly, he gave up drugs completely, before having a spiritual encounter with his dead friend, saying that everything was alright. This was the only time you'll ever see Bullet care about doing anything wrong.
** In "Meet the Jabowskis", this is PlayedForLaughs and subverted. Bullet knocked Fitz out cold and left him there while trying to run out with the briefcase full of money, before stopping himself and saying "My God. What am I doing?", [[BaitAndSwitch turning back, and stealing his wallet]].
* PetTheDog: Quite ironically when you think about it. In ‘Big Ball Energy’, when everyone is giving Kevin a hard time for making Paradise a shithole town again (and utterly disregarding the fact that he had a very good reason to do so), Bullet ends up being one of the few people who still respects him. Granted, it was more out of selfish reasons, but it was still nice of Bullet to treat Kevin kindly.
* TheStoner: He's constantly high on cocaine, marijuana, and anything he can get his paws on.
* StrongFamilyResemblance: He looks very similar to [[spoiler:his son Junior]].
* TokenNonHuman: The dog of the team.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Edibles.
* YouAreNumberSix: He's revealed in "Paradise PD Meets Brickleberry" to actually be the sixth in a line of dogs named Bullet who worked for Paradise PD, having been unaware of this fact until Randall offhandedly mentions it.
-->'''Randall:''' I didn't shed a tear when I put the first five Bullets down.\
'''Bullet:''' Huh?\
'''Randall:''' ''(chuckles awkwardly)'' [[BlatantLies Just kidding, buddy]]. ''(whispers to Kevin)'' Jesus, I hope Bullet #7 isn't such a pussy.

[[caption-width-right:300:''"Mama's home, bitches."'']]
->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/SarahChalke
The short-tempered, quick-to-aggression female cop. Although she's excellent in combat, she always takes things too far in terms of violence, making her an unstable, and somewhat rogue member of the team.
----
* ActionGirl: The sole female of the team, and also the most competent member. She busts more criminals than anyone else, and does so in a kickass, violent way as well.
* AffablyEvil: An AxCrazy lunatic who can get along with people as long as they aren't her targets or don't do anything to piss her off.
* AmbiguouslyBi: She's obviously into guys given her [[ChubbyChaser blatant attraction to Dusty]] [[spoiler:and her falling in love with Kevin in the season 3 finale]]. Then there's "Showdown at the O-bese Corral" when she's clearly attracted to Dusty's Weight Watchers group, which involves of both fat men and women. However, it's unclear if this was only due to the fat men or if it was due to both the men and women.
* AxCrazy: Literally. She is obsessed with violently manhandling criminals, and often uses a chainsaw or a taser in doing so.
* BerserkButton: Whenever someone breaks a law, even if it's a misdemeanor like using 2 coupons at once or getting free sodas with a cup for only water. Gina also does not like being touched or flirted with by men who aren't Dusty.
** In "How the Cookie Crumbles", the hates the mistreatment of sperms.
* TheBigGirl: She's shown to be the most powerful fighter in the team.
* BlackAndWhiteInsanity: If you so much as forget to use a turn signal, the best you could hope for is that Gina only horribly maims you. You break any law whatsoever and Gina will exert PoliceBrutality on you.
* BloodKnight: Lives and breathes off of stopping criminals from living and breathing.
* BunnyEarsLawyer: She is quite unhinged to say the least, but she is nevertheless the most competent worker in Paradise PD.
* ChildhoodBrainDamage: [[spoiler:When she was a kid, her parents, on the run from the police, used her as a human shield, which resulted in her being shot in the head and spending 11 years in a coma]].
* ChubbyChaser:
** She's in love with [[FatIdiot Dusty Marlow]], and constantly tries to rape him.
** In "Showdown at the O-bese Corral", she's shown to have a fetish for fat men ([[AmbiguouslyBi and maybe fat women too]]).
** [[spoiler:Inverted once the bullet in her brain is out, in which she isn't attracted to the severely overweight]].
* ComicalOverreacting: "I promise not to overreact to every little -- '''''[[SuddenlyShouting DID THAT CUNT JUST PUT SPRITE IN A WATER CUP?!!!]]'''''"
* TheDreaded: The criminals of Paradise treat the police in general as a joke, but they live in fear of Gina.
* DumbBlonde: She's done a lot of stupid things like pointing guns at Terry Two-Toes without checking to see if her guns are loaded, forgoing making Dusty a suspect in the "El Chefe" cocaine drug trade even though he perfectly matched the witness's sketch drawing, mixing up Bumfuque with an African warlord's home village which was really a redneck town next to Paradise, licked Dusty's anus giving her a parasite and getting her hospitalized.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: When we meet her, [[ChubbyChaser she's sexually harassing Dusty]].
* EvenTheGirlsWantHer: An implied case. [[https://www.facebook.com/ParadisePDNetflix/photos/1085121845320899/ She once stated that everyone crushes on her]], though it's unclear if that includes other women.
* FairCop: A damn good-looking woman working in the police department.
* FlowersForAlgernonSyndrome: In order to have a more normal life married to [[spoiler:Kevin]] she has the bullet in her brain removed. Removing her violent impulses and overweight attraction. When ISIS[[note]] The International Society of Insulted Selebrties, Ron Perl-man doesn't understand phonetics[[/note]] tries to kill everybody as payback for the low hanging jokes about them, she has Kevin shoot her in the head again so that's she's violent enough to take them down. It ends up cranking her aggression all the way back up past eleven and makes her so murderously violent she becomes a threat even to her friends and has to leave to avoid hurting them
* TheFriendsWhoNeverHang: Gina doesn't interact with Hopson on screen at all in season 1. The two finally interact in season 2, episode 5.
* HeadTurningBeauty: A lot of men are in love with her, but Dusty's not one of them. In episode 6, a comic store owner asks her to put on a Princess Leia slave bikini, which [[ReluctantFanserviceGirl she was embarrassed to do]] but agreed to do so if she gets paid $100. She's also been harassed by a Creator/StephenHawking knock-off who kept asking her for sex.
* HeroicComedicSociopath: She does help save the day... with brutality and mayhem.
* HilariouslyAbusiveChildhood: [[spoiler:Her father was a criminal who while trying to escape the police on a speedboat, without even the slightest bit of hesitation, [[HumanBulletproofShield used her to block a bullet]], then tossed her into the water telling his wife they'll make another one to replace her. Not because she was his least favorite child, but he was just a DirtyCoward who would rather (and does) force his kids to take a bullet for him]].
* HotBlooded: To say Gina has a lot of steam in her system is putting it ''very'' mildly.
* MasculineGirlFeminineBoy: [[spoiler:Becomes the Masculine Girl to Kevin's Feminine Boy in season 3. This is especially exemplified in "PARAD-ISIS", when we get a role reversal, where Gina proposes to Kevin, causing the latter to get ever so effeminately flustered to marry such a strong and resilient hero]].
* MsFanservice: A busty blonde who is acknowledged as one of the sexiest women in Paradise. She also briefly wears a midriff-revealing top in "Blimp City".
* MusclesAreMeaningless: In spite of her slim figure, she can pin 560-pound Dusty to the ground as shown in "Parent Trap".
* OneOfTheBoys: She gets along well with her male coworkers, with whom she spends the majority of her time.
* OneWomanArmy: She is able to keep the town in order without (or even despite) her fellow officers.
* OnlySaneWoman: More like Only Sane Officer. Ironically, despite being clearly unstable, she is the only member of the force who is capable of doing her job compared to the rest of the completely incompetent Paradise PD. This is because Kevin is stupid, Randall is conflicted with his hormone issues, Hopson is too old and unbalanced, Bullet is a junkie, Gerald is cowardly, and Dusty is a pushover who cares more about eating than busting crime.
* PintSizedPowerhouse: Took down a bear with a chainsaw in "Meet the Jabowskis".
* PoliceBrutality: Her bread and butter. She actually scrapbooks her arrests and organizes it by which bones she broke off of the suspect while she was beating them.
* PsychopathicWomanchild: Her AxCrazy personality makes her both childish and unpredictable. She also has a target scrapbook that appears to have been created for a grade school student.
* RabidCop: She is loud and ferocious and cracks down on criminals as soon as she gets the chance
* RedEyesTakeWarning: A non-villainous one. Her eyes briefly turn red while fighting ISIS and she's a powerful fighter.
* SexySantaDress: In the part 1 finale, she wears a fairly revealing, Christmas-themed minidress.
* SingleWomanSeeksGoodMan: [[spoiler:Apparently, the reasons why Gina falls for Kevin in season 3 is because unlike everyone else living in Paradise, Kevin isn't a complete asshole and is genuinely trying to seek justice and keep his town safe]].
* ATasteOfTheirOwnMedicine: Gina is shown to be always sexually harassing Dusty, while she herself gets sexually harassed too by various men.
* ThereIsNoKillLikeOverkill: She takes pride in being incredibly dangerous and violent.
* TisOnlyABulletInTheBrain: [[spoiler:She took a bullet to the head at the age of 10 and spent the next 11 years in a coma. When she woke up, she had no memory of her life before the injury and gained a taste for violence.]]
* TokenEvilTeammate: Next to [[spoiler:[[SplitPersonalityTakeover Fitz]]]], she is the most ruthless and trigger happy of the force.
* TomboyWithAGirlyStreak: She is highly ruthless and stubborn, taking down men and creatures three times her size with ease, and frequently [[OneOfTheBoys hangs out with men]] rather than women. But she also lives in a pink-themed house, owns a scrapbook with glitter designs, and doesn't mind dressing up.
* TrueBlueFemininity: An inverted case. Her default outfit has blue. She's also violent, masculine, and quick-tempered.
* UltimateJobSecurity: She's a textbook case for police brutality and a sexual harassment lawsuit waiting to happen, but she's also the only officer on the force who isn't a total moron.
* TheUnfavourite: [[spoiler:She originally was her father's least favorite child]].
* UsedToBeASweetKid: ImpliedTrope. [[spoiler:When she gets the bullet in her brain removed in the season 3 finale, she starts being a {{nice girl}} instead of the [[AxCrazy unstable]] one know. It's also implied she was like this when she was a kid]].
* WhiteSheep: Despite her unhinged behavior, she's still a far more moral person than the rest of her family.
* {{Workaholic}}: She absolutely loves hunting down criminals so she can beat them up senselessly.
* {{Yandere}}: To Dusty.

!!Dusty Marlow
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dusty_marlow.jpg]]
->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/DanaSnyder
An [[AddedAlliterativeAppeal overly obese oaf]] weighing at 560 lb, with the iron-will of a paranoid hairless cat. Fittingly enough, he is a lonely old virgin, who's only interaction with pussy is his massive collection of pet cats in his apartment room.
----
* AbusiveParents: A discussed yet PlayedForLaughs example. Dialogue indicates that Dusty's parents [[HilariouslyAbusiveChildhood hate him and treat him crappily]], which he's oblivious to.
* {{Acrofatic}}: Doesn't let his fatness hold him back, from beating up criminals.
* BerserkButton: Trying to stop him from eating in any way will immediately provoke a violent response. Randall had a weight limit passed for restaurants, rather than leave Dusty's response was to throw the staff out the window.
%% ** When he sees perfectly good food get thrown away.
%% ** When people laugh at him for ripping his pants when he bends down.
%% ** Thanksgiving, because of the mistreatment of the Native-Americans, which he claims to have ancestry of. It's unclear of this still is, due to the Native-Americans beating him up for dressing like a stereotypical depiction of one in his protest.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: Dusty really kicked some ass in his fight with [[spoiler:Santa Claus, stabbing him to death with a candy cane that he sharpened into a knife shape after sucking on it.]]
* BigBeautifulMan: As far as [[ChubbyChaser Gina]] is concerned, but then we see she's not alone; [[UsefulNotes/JoeBiden Joe Biden]] and [[spoiler:Mr. Meowgi]] also [[EvenTheGuysWantHim tried bidding on an Internet auction for who gets to screw Dusty]].
* BigEater: Eats tons of food, making him so fat.
* BigFun: He's a fat guy who's always cheerful and friendly.
* BrainyBrunette: An inversion. He's brown-haired and a textbook FatIdiot.
* BulletproofHumanShield: Because he's so fat, his coworkers use him like a bulletproof wall.
* CampStraight: Speaks in a high, lisping voice, has a house full of cats that he dotes on, and is fond of singing and dancing, but is never shown to be attracted to men.
* CrazyCatLady: Rare male example; he spends more money on his dozens of cats than on himself.
* DidntThinkThisThrough: He has Type 2 diabetes, has many health problems regarding his obesity and is too fat to be in a car, and the first time he did try entering a car resulted in him getting trapped inside one with his head and legs sticking out of it.
* DudeLooksLikeALady: In episode 10, after [[spoiler:getting framed for dealing meth and killing Terry Two-Toes]], the security guards put him in a women's prison because they couldn't find his penis due to how fat he is.
* TheDitz: He's gullible and easy to fool.
* EvenTheGuysWantHim: A PlayedForLaughs example; [[spoiler:Mr. Meowgi]] and UsefulNotes/JoeBiden view him as a BigBeautifulMan.
* FatAndProud: He's obese and has no intention of losing weight, even at the cost of his job.
* FatIdiot: He's dumb as a brick, and weighs 560 pounds (when he's ''not'' eating).
* {{Flanderization}}: Come season three whatever traits he had beyond being a walking fat joke have been drastically reduced.
* FormerlyFit: In "PARAD-ISIS", he was a former Navy SEAL with a physique body. Until Gina forced him to eat a donut...
* FrameUp: [[spoiler:Gets arrested at the end of season one under charges of being the Kingpin, despite having just defeated the boss' right hand man: Santa Claus.]]
* GoshDangItToHeck: Talks like this, instead of actually cussing. This came to an end, however, when he [[spoiler:killed Santa Claus and unleashed every profanity in the book unto him.]]
* HilariouslyAbusiveChildhood: Several lines, all of which are played for laughs, suggest Dusty's [[AbusiveParents parents abused him]].
* {{Hypocrite}}: He ends up doing things that he considered sinful.
* ItsAllAboutMe: He clearly prioritizes himself in season 2 and especially season 3.
* {{Kevlard}}: He's so fat that he's immune to several methods that are usually lethal (like bullets, stabbings, and [[spoiler:electrocution]]) as his body fat protects him.
* {{Manchild}}: Acts like a little child frequently. A major example is on Christmas when he asks for a choo-choo train from a mall Santa.
-->'''Dusty:''' Hi, Santy Claus! ''(giggles)'' I know you're not the real Santy. But you ''report'' to the real Santy.
* ProtectionRacket: He does this to the restaurant row. Either give him all the free food he can eat, or he'll destroy your business....which considering how much he eats essentially boils down to letting him destroy your business financially or literally.
* StillBelievesInSanta: Oafish manchild loser Dusty (who is a cop) thinks Santa is real.
* SonOfAWhore: In "King of the Norf" he said that his mother used to work as a prostitute.
* TookALevelInJerkass: In Season 2, Dusty becomes more abrasive and antagonistic in nature as especially emphasized in "Who Ate Wally's Waffles" and "Operation DD". However, it gets cranked up in Season 3 to the point where episodes like "Top Cops" and "Trigger Warning" portrays him like a total jerk, though [[WordOfGod Co-creator Waco O'Guin]] said on his twitter they made him this way to give him some CharacterDevelopment. However, [[CharacterRerailment his old persona returns in the finale]].
* UngratefulBastard: A PlayedForLaughs variant; he [[spoiler:celebrates Kevin Sucks Day in "Big Ball Energy" although Kevin ends up exonerating him from the charge of being a drug lord and execution]].
* VillainousGlutton: Let's see. He's willing to let the entire town die for laughing when he ripped his pants and eats years worth of food for a whole town by himself. He runs a protection racket for food in restaurant row while demanding enough food to run them out of business anyway, and ran a fried chicken business whilst knowing it contained heroin.
* WouldHarmASenior: A downplayed yet PlayedForLaughs case in "Blind Drunk" in which he smacks [[DirtyOldMan Hopson]] several times with a hat.

A [[DeadpanSnarker wise-cracking]] black guy, who has a deep appreciation for UsefulNotes/{{Japan}}ese culture, but no respect for any of his co-workers.
----
* AllMenArePerverts: If him being fond of "Pussyland" says anything. [[spoiler:Until he gets stuck in there for too long, at least]].
* BadLiar: His lies that [[spoiler:The Kingpin is his bowling nickname and he left his job when he was The Kingpin (though the former is subverted as it's revealed that was while [[SplitPersonalityTakeover The Kingpin was controlling him]])]] clearly didn't sway Randall.
* BattleInTheCenterOfTheMind: [[spoiler:In "Operation DD", once Kevin reveals that the 'innocents' that died because of him were all Instagram influencers and that the world was better off without them, Fitz has an all-out epic battle with his alter-ego, The Kingpin, inside of his mind.]]
%% * BigBad: [[spoiler:Of season 2]].
* ButtMonkey: Most notable during his coma story-arc, in which he got abused and kicked around quite a bit.
* CardCarryingVillain: He subverts this. [[spoiler:He's later shown to be a self-admitted villain, but this when he was experiencing a SplitPersonalityTakeover]].
* CloudCuckoolander: Has this imaginary world called "Pussyland", which often comes up in dialogue. In "Parent Trap", he slipped into a coma and actually went there, and it's just as ridiculous a place as it sounds.
* CopKiller: [[spoiler:He kills all the members of Kevin's task force (sans Kevin himself), which is composed entirely of cops. It's also later revealed this was [[SplitPersonalityTakeover really the Kingpin's doing]]]].
%% * DeadpanSnarker: He isn't immune to making sarcastic comments.
* TheDon: [[spoiler:Served at this in Season 2]].

* EvilSoundsDeep: He speaks in a deep voice [[spoiler:and is revealed in the season 1 finale to be evil and {{sadist}}ic. The "Evil" part gets subverted, though, as his villainy was during a SplitPersonalityTakeover]].
* FalseFriend: A subversion. He's friends with Kevin [[spoiler:but it's later revealed that he doesn't actually care about him, with his HiddenDisdainReveal revealing he has one low opinion of him. However, the season 2 finale reveals this was during a SplitPersonalityTakeover and he's genuinely Kevin's friend]].
* FourEyesZeroSoul: Subverted by Fitz. [[spoiler:While he wears glasses when he goes DressedInDrag, [[SplitPersonalityTakeover his villainy was committed while The Kingpin was controlling him]]]].
* FreudianExcuse: PlayedForLaughs; he's [[WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes scared of clowns]] because one [[BlackComedyRape molested him]] when [[DoubleStandardRapeMaleOnMale he was a child]].
* GagPenis: The UsefulNotes/{{Russia}}n mobster once called him out on having a big penis, and it's clearly PlayedForLaughs.
* HaveIMentionedIAmHeterosexualToday: In "Meet the Jabowskis", Gerald and Bullet had to pretend they were a gay couple, let alone an [[BestialityIsDepraved inter-species]] one, to get a room at a motel. It was clear as day that Gerald did not like having to do this.
-->'''Fitz:''' ''[unenthusiastic]'' Yup, I'm gay as hell for dog dick.
%% * HeterosexualLifePartners: With Kevin, and to a lesser degree, Bullet.
* HiddenDepths: We learn over the course of the first season that Fitz used to be a cop in Chicago and [[NoodleIncident some dark shit happened]], which gave him the PTSD he has now. Season 2 expounds more on this, [[spoiler:by showing us a flashback of what happened. In it, Fitz' PTSD also came with Dissociative Identity Disorder and that caused him to start acting evil]].
* ItsAllAboutMe: [[spoiler:After TheReveal of his evil true nature, it's obvious that Fitz only cares about himself. It's subverted in his case as this was actually while [[SplitPersonalityTakeover The Kingpin was controlling him]]]].
* JerkWithAHeartOfJerk: PlayedForLaughs yet subverted. [[spoiler:While Fitz and Kevin make this exchange, this was while the former's [[SplitPersonalityTakeover body was taken over by The Kingpin]]]].
-->[[spoiler:'''Kevin:''' This is not the Fitz I know; I know there's a good person in there somewhere]].

* LastNameBasis: Is always addressed as "Fitz", which is short for his last name, "Fitzgerald".
* LazyBum: It's not just PTSD that makes him refuse to do his job, he's also quite lazy too since he tried to lie to Chief Randall about diarrhea just to get a paid day off.
* MasterActor: He's a subverted example. [[spoiler:Yes, he fools several characters. Also, yes, a PlotTwist in the season 2 reveals [[SplitPersonalityTakeover he wasn't in control of his actions at the time]]]].
* TheMole: [[spoiler:In the season one finale, he was the leader of the whole argyle meth corporation]].
* OccidentalOtaku: Loves Japanese culture.
* OnlyKnownByHisNickname: Nobody ever calls him "Gerald" or "Fitzgerald". They only call him "Fitz".
* OutOfFocus: Due to plot reasons, Fitz was barely featured in the crossover with Brickleberry and was the only character to neither interact with any Brickleberry characters or even appear in Bricklberry National Park.
* PapaWolf: [[spoiler:Messing with his "son" Junior is anything but recommended]].
* RepetitiveName: His name is Gerald Fitzgerald.
* RunningGag: Has a joke, called "Fitz Bitz" where he [[BreakingTheFourthWall talks to the audience]], giving them [[AnAesop an important aesop]] on something.
* {{Sadist}}: A subversion. [[spoiler:After TheReveal of his villainy, Fitz occasionally shows enjoyment in others' suffering, e.g. giving a SlasherSmile while killing Handicop. However, it's later revealed this was while [[SplitPersonalityTakeover The Kingpin was controlling him]]]].
* ShellShockedVeteran: Has PTSD from traumatic experiences at his last job.
* SplitPersonality:
** In "Black & Blue", Fitz lost it and got split into two personalities. One of a cop and one of a thug. Both of whom hated each other.
** At the end of Season 2, we learn that [[spoiler:Fitz' evil alter-ego isn't his true self. It's actually a split personality of the man he killed, who [[SplitPersonalityTakeover took over]] his body]].
* SplitPersonalityTakeover: [[spoiler:As learned in "Operation DD", his "evil true self" of The Kingpin is actually just a split persona, who takes over his body near the end of Season 1, having Fitz' original personality get locked away in the imaginary world of Pussyland]].
* TokenMinority: The token black guy of the police department [[spoiler:and the Legion of Dooooom]].
* UltimateJobSecurity: He ''never'' does his job at all, but he seems protected by affirmative action policies.
* WalkingSpoiler: He's the main reason why if you haven't seen all of Season 1, you shouldn't even glance at Season 2 onwards.
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: Fitz is terrified of clowns.

[[folder:Stanley Hopson]]
!!Stanley Hopson
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/stanley_hopson_5.jpg]]
->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/DanaSnyder
A wrinkled old man, who refuses to retire, despite having Alzheimer's, dementia, amnesia, and every other old person disease in the book. Occasionally makes outdated racist comments and rambles about his previous sexual experiences with male celebrities from the 1950's-1960's.
----
* BelligerentSexualTension: He and Randall are always deliberately harming one another, but in the Season 1 finale he asks Randall to marry him (wedding ring attached with the proposal).
* CloudCuckoolander: His brain is permenantly stuck in the [=1900s=].
* CreepyCrossdresser: Whenever he cross-dresses as a woman, expect it to be played both [[PlayedForLaughs for laughs]] and for FanDisservice.
* DepravedHomosexual: Has mentioned a lot of twisted sexual acts he's done with other men in his past.
* DirtyOldMan: A PlayedForLaughs one. But, for starters, [[GrumpyOldMan he]] once stuck his dick through the mail slot and made Randall kiss it. He also made Kevin suck his dick before and tried getting blowjobs from anonymous people using [[PaperThinDisguise portable walls (with glory holes) that fail to even hide the person]].
* DragQueen: Hopson has crossdressed as a woman many times to enter relationships with other men.
* ElderAbuse: Gets abused a lot by Randall, who wants Stanley gone and to retire already.
* TheFriendNobodyLikes: The rest of Paradise PD don't seem to like him much, since he's old, racist and mentally unstable.
* TheFriendsWhoNeverHang: Hopson doesn't interact with Gina on screen at all in season 1. The two finally interact in season 2, episode 5.
* GrumpyOldMan: He gets pissed off easily and he's clearly old.
* HumanPet: A [[PlayedForLaughs comical]] one. Despite Hopson being a human, he once acted like a CanineCompanion to Bullet, a dog.
* LateToTheRealization: In "PARAD-ISIS", while everyone was shocked to hear that Kevin and Gina are engaged, Hopson suddenly woke up and shouted [[spoiler:"Fitz is the Kingpin?!"]].
** Does this again twice in "A Star is Porn" when he shouts [[spoiler:"Twatemala was Dobby the whole time?!"]] and [[spoiler:"a polyp took over the chief's body!"]].
* TheLoad: As an out-of-touch old man, he serves no purpose to the team, and is never brought along on missions, unless the team is forced to take him. It was pointed out that he should've been retired, but Randall can't (or won't) pay his pension.
* LongLived: According to WordOfGod, he's 175 years old.
* {{Manchild}}: He has to get his diaper changed by another grown-up as though he were still a baby.
* MarriedToTheJob: He refuses to leave the police force despite the fact that he ceased to be fit for the job a ''long'' time ago.
* OlderThanTheyLook: He was already a senior citizen by the time Kevin's grandmother was a junior in high school.
* MyFriendsAndZoidberg: Usually gets snubbed and shat on for being the weakest and most expendable member of the group.
* RacistGrandpa: Pulled over Fitzgerald, his own colleague, for being black. [[RuleOfThree Three times in one week]]. Also, he once revealed he always wanted to drop the N-bomb on Creator/MikeTyson.
* ScatterbrainedSenior: Because of his advanced age, he's very forgetful and easily distracted.
* SeniorSleepCycle: An old man who falls asleep at random and spontaneously [[SurveillanceStationSlacker even when he's on duty for emergency calls]].
* ShamelessFanserviceGuy: Or rather, "Shameless FanDisservice Guy"; he has no issue being naked and it's PlayedForLaughs.
* ToiletHumour: He's quite disgusting, as he urinates in his co-workers' coffee and taints their pastry snacks with his penis.
* TooDumbToLive: He mistook a gun for a cell phone and the headlights of an incoming truck for angelic lights guiding him to heaven.
* TroublingUnchildlikeBehavior: "Task Force" reveals that he's been subscribed to ''Choking Geezers Monthly'', a porn magazine centered on BDSM acts involving senior citizens, since he was a child.
* WithFriendsLikeThese: He does a ''lot'' of bad things to his fellow officers (especially Randall), though Stanley admits he hates them all so what he did was more likely payback than mental illness.

----
%% * NumberOneDime: Betty.
%% * BumblingSidekick: To Fitz.
* TheChewToy: Randall sent him to investigate a possibly explosive package, not wanting himself for anyone important to risk being blown up.
* {{CloudcuckooLander}}: Hobo Cop seems to have a typical "hobo mental illness", expressed by his nonsensical rambling.
* DumpsterDive: Wouldn't be a hobo if he didn't shop this way.
* HiddenDepths: He's actually really good at staring danger in the face and capturing criminals. Fitz even admires his courage.
* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: His real name was never revealed, so he's just known as "Hobo Cop".
* ThePigPen: One of his most prominent traits is that he's filthy, stinky, disgusting, and covered in trash.

* PunnyName: His name is a pun on "Robo Cop".

* PungeonMaster: Prop Cop is always telling jokes.
-->'''Prop Cop:''' Boy, shit just got real. ''[takes out piece of shit]'' Get it? [[DontExplainTheJoke It's real shit!]] Boy, I pulled this joke out of my ass. What? Does this joke stink? Too corny?

A racist, nihilistic paralyzed police officer on Kevin's task force.
----
* DeadpanSnarker: Oh, yeah. This guy is a damn savage. Even Randall admits that.
-->'''Randall:''' What do they call you? [[PunnyName Handicop]]?
-->'''Handicop:''' Shut your cocksucking mouth. There are two things I don't like: [[UsefulNotes/PuertoRico Puerto Ricans]] and your shitty mustache that looks like two cat turds fucking like Puerto Ricans and yes, they call me Handicop.
-->'''Randall:''' Alright, at least this guy seems pretty cool.
* HandicappedBadass: Despite being in a wheelchair, Handicop is a kick-ass police officer.
* HypocriticalHumor: Handicop is constantly making racist comments against Scottish people. In "Task Force", [[spoiler:Handicop became un-crippled and [[SuddenlyVoiced started talking]] in a Scottish accent.]]
* NoCelebritiesWereHarmed: He is a parody on Creator/StephenHawking.
* PoliticallyIncorrectHero: He's a textbook racist who's a member of a RagtagBunchOfMisfits.
* PunnyName: His name is a pun on "Handicap". [[spoiler:Although if you watch episode 8 with subtitles, it does reveal his real name: Stephen]].
