Go To

!!Tropes that apply to all of the members of Deagle Nation

* AntiHero: When Jace and his friends aren't being outright malevolent, they're usually this.
* AssholeVictim: The bad things that happen to them are usually either deserved or [[HoistByTheirOwnPetard caused by their own actions]].
* InsaneTrollLogic: Just about everyone operates on this.
* LazyBum: Jace spends almost all of his time playing video games, living off disability checks and bragging about it. His friends aren't much better, as they'd rather [[TheStoner get high]] than do anything productive.
* LoserProtagonist
* ManChild: No one in Deagle Nation is big on maturity.
* TheStoner: Weed is one of the tenets of Deagle Nation after all!

!!Jace Connors ([=ParkourDude91=])
[[quoteright:240:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bc879ffe7f88ff5cbe5210d388ba5119.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:240:"Press 1!"]]
-> Played by: Jan Rankowski
The ill-tempered {{manchild}} protagonist of the saga of Deagle Nation. A self-proclaimed [[InsistentTerminology marine and tactical badass,]] Jace is an unemployed twenty-something with a tenuous grasp on reality and an obsession with displays of military valor.

* AffablyEvil: Even though he's a loud, boisterous, and delusional bigot, he manages to be oddly endearing all the same.
* AnimalMotifs: Considers himself a wolf spirit, and has a strong affinity for canines. His trolls exploit this by accusing him of being a [[UsefulNotes/FurryFandom furry]].
* ArchEnemy: Several, including Scarydeep of Team Gamerfood, Sacred-Fox, and Tyce Andrews [[HeelFaceRevolvingDoor on occasion]].
* AudienceSurrogate: Sort of. Jan is said to have designed Jace as being representative of all the things that were bad about the culture surrounding Call of Duty and MLG.
* BerserkButton: Many things, chief among them being questioned on his serving in the marines and being exposed to things relating to homosexuality and Sunni Islam.
** Another big one is being shown pictures of the male genitalia. Some of his most extreme freak-outs on streams have been over getting sent such pictures.
** Also when somebody brings up his lazy eye, [[SuspiciouslySpecificDenial which he does not have!]]
* BigStupidDoodooHead: "Guck you duck you fuckyoy."
** "You baby-headed...fucking...''child-human!''"
* CatchPhrase: "Press 1!"
** "Semper Fidelis to all are armed forces."
** "I am a Marine. Banned from Comments."
* {{Chuunibyou}}: Deluding himself to be a Marine that goes on missions, Jace is probably a good Western example of this Japanese concept.
* CoolShades: Averted. Jace's shades, of which he's never seen without, do not do any wonders for his overall appearance.
* CosmicPlaything: Anytime he plays ''VideoGame/TheSims3'', considering [[KafkaKomedy the hell his avatar goes through]]. Supported by the fact that when Jace tries to make the avatar commit suicide, Death ''won't even take him'' because he feels that it would be unfair to deprive the world of the comedy that is Jack's miserable life. This causes Jace to RageQuit and uninstall the game.
* {{Eagleland}}: Thinks he's a type 1, is really a type 2.
* FreakOut: Hoo boy does he have these, whether it be related to trolling (see BerserkButton), the video games he has difficulty with, or [[MakesJustAsMuchSenseInContext whatever encouraged him to flush his prescription drugs down the toilet]].
* InnocentBigot: In spite of Jace's outspoken hatred of gays and muslims, its shown that he's afraid of coming across as a bigot. It's implied but never outright stated that these feelings merely stem from his obsession with the jingoistic Call of Duty series and that he's oblivious to how rude a lot of the things he says are.
* KnowNothingKnowItAll: Towards anything related to guns and the military.
* MilesGloriosus: Big-time. He speaks highly of his nonexistent prowess as a marine and a parkourist.
* {{Narcissist}}: In order for a person to be professionally diagnosed with narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) they must meet five or more of the symptoms. As shown below, Jace meets ''all'' of them. He's definitely of the low-functioning variety.
** [[SmallNameBigEgo Has a grandiose sense of self-importance]] (e.g., exaggerates achievements and talents, expects to be recognized as superior without commensurate achievements).
*** Jace has regularly exaggerated or outright fabricated stories of accomplishments and feats from his life in order to appeal to others; the greatest example being him claiming to go to Boot Camp while he was actually sent to Jesus Camp during his disappearance. He also expects to be recognized as superior status due to being a Marine, despite the fact that [[PhonyVeteran he's never served in any branch of the armed forces]].
** Is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty, or ideal love.
*** Tiberius Rising is his fantasy, and he is even brazen enough to publish it.
** Believes that he or she is “special” and unique and can only be understood by, or should associate with, other special or high-status people (or institutions).
*** Jace believes he is a Marine, often refers to many of his friends (real or imagined) as "Marines", and often refers to people who don't appreciate him as "civvies".
** Requires excessive admiration.
*** Pretty much the whole point of the "Press 1" thing.
** Has a very strong sense of entitlement, e.g., unreasonable expectations of especially favorable treatment or automatic compliance with his or her expectations.
*** "I deserve" is a phrase you'll hear Jace using a lot - particularly on Fact Zone, and Jace will get very angry if circumstances do not match his ideal fantasy, such as when his character dies in a video game, he will dismiss it as "unrealistic" as the game did not comply to his expectation. Furthermore, he will demand favorable treatment to the point of pushing people aside while proclaiming "Excuse me, Marine coming through!"
** Is exploitative of others, e.g., takes advantage of others to achieve his or her own ends.
*** See Operation Tupacalypse; to a lesser extent, the rest of Deagle Nation can be included in this as well; Jace admits in the The End of Deagle Nation video that many of his real-life friends abandoned him after he demanded too much from them during the Civil War of Deagle Nation.
** [[LackOfEmpathy Lacks empathy]], e.g., is unwilling to recognize or identify with the feelings and needs of others.
*** This is less true than the rest of the symptoms, but one possible example is Jace ignoring Eli's needs, wants, and even basic safety during Operation Tupacalypse, as well as his interactions with his mother.
** Is often envious of others or believes that others are envious of him or her. Jace often uses the "You're just jealous" line.
** Regularly shows arrogant, haughty behaviors or attitudes.
*** Jace is arrogant if nothing else; his general demeanor of Fact Zone is the clearest example, especially whenever other callers challenge his beliefs.
* PhonyVeteran: When he isn't calling himself a "future Marine", he's claiming to be a retired and/or wounded one.
* PrematurelyBald: Look at that hairline. ''Look at it.''
* PsychopathicManchild: Shows shades of this but largely averts it. He's more boisterous and dumb than he is outright violent. See MilesGloriosus.
* ScreamsLikeALittleGirl: His voice goes up several octaves whenever something scares or annoys him.

!!Tyce Andrews ([=UnknownSold1er998=])
[[quoteright:240:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/a009e0a002c88e7daa846959cc0f8e0b.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:240:"Fuk Obeme #Prankd"]]
->Played by: Robert (last name unknown)
A former friend and bitter enemy of Jace. Tyce is a [[NeverLearnedtoRead barely literate]], racist oaf that has grievously damaged his mental state through extensive drug use. His role as a lieutenant in the ranks of Deagle Nation and as a villainous foe of the group has shifted many times in the past. Of note, he also speaks rather highly of skeletons.

* BaldOfEvil: In adhering to his neo-nazi ways, Tyce shaved his head at one point.
* {{Blackmail}}: Tyce is indirectly responsible for his parents' divorce. He caught his dad having sex with a hooker, then blackmailed him with it. Tyce's dad didn't keep his end of the bargain, so Tyce told his mom, leading to their divorce.
* CatchPhrase: "#TYCED"
** "Sliced and Tyced"
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}[=/=]ConspiracyTheorist: Believes in skeletons as living beings who are persecuted by the government and forced to wear hologram generating devices to give them a normal appearance and hide their existence from the general population. He also believes that Area 51 is a prison for skeletons who have rebelled and refused to wear the devices, and once attempted to travel there to break them out. Tyce is obsessed with exposing this conspiracy by arming the skeletons against their captors and leading them in an uprising he calls the "Skeleton War."
* DeadlyPrank: His "pranks" tend to be this. Not because they're clever per sae, but because Tyce's idea of pranking people usually comes down to harassing them in some vaguely illegal fashion.
* {{Delinquents}}
** LowerClassLout: While he has a decidedly upper-class family, he is not an UpperClassTwit. He displays many "lower class" stereotypes.
* DemBones: Perhaps the most bewildering aspect of Tyce's personality is his fixation on skeletons, of which he perceives as being animate beings who face government persecution on a daily basis.
* {{Foil}}: To Jace. While both men are dull-witted, unemployed and questionably sane, Jace is shown to have some redeeming qualities whereas Tyce is a complete scumbag.
* FreudianExcuse: Tyce's mental degradation started when his brother was hit by a police car. This lead to his obsession with matchbox cars and other toys his brother used to play with.
* HeelFaceRevolvingDoor: Although never truly "good", Tyce is in and out of deagle nation and goes from being Jace's friend to not being Jace's friend and vice versa occasionally.
* {{Hypocrite}}: When Tyce isn't complaining about how his father is a fascist, he's bragging about how his dad (who is a lawyer) is his ace in the hole who'll get him out of trouble in court.
* InvisibleParents: Are referred to, but are never seen or heard on screen.
* NeverLearnedToRead: Tyce struggles with literacy on a basic level. Any time he tries to write it comes off as incomprehensible nonsense.
* NominalHero[=/=]VillainProtagonist: Is this while serving under the banner of Deagle Nation. The depths of Tyce's sociopathy make Jace look [[BlackAndGrayMorality downright heroic]] in comparison.
* PoliticallyIncorrectVillain: Fittingly, Tyce took to the ways of neo-nazism over the course of 2014.
* ThePrankster: He is in his own words a "prankmaster." In practice though, most of his pranks aren't so much pranks as they are blatant crimes. One such "prank" involved Tyce pushing a senior citizen into a pool at his local YMCA.
* PsychopathicManchild: Definitely. Tyce is far more malicious in his actions than Jace is.
* TokenEvilTeammate: To Jace and the rest of Deagle Nation. He's staged a civil war twice, the second one was on-going at the time Deagle Nation was exposed as a ruse.

!!Elijah "Eli" Taylor ([=IcyPlayboi69=])
[[quoteright:225:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/39997b7c9cc1f8280caccfc0ee519a1f.png]]
[[caption-width-right:225:Wat Up Bitchez, Haaaahh!]]
->Played by: Anonymous
A friend of Jace and the last remaining member of Deagle Nation during operation Wu-Pocalypse. Eli is a docile but very unintelligent stoner who is obsessed with ''Runescape'' and getting laid.

* AmbiguouslyJewish: Inverted, he is stated to be Jewish but never shows it in any way.
* CasanovaWannabe: He really likes to believe that a lot of women are into him.
* CatchPhrase: "What's up daily teens."
* CultureBlind: To almost everything.
* EatThat: As stated by Tyce and confirmed by himself, he ingests his own semen after masturbating. This is apparently because it's a good source of protein.
* InvisibleParents: You can hear his mom over the phone in one video, but aside from that you never see her on screen.
* {{Malaproper}}: Thought that "Islam" referred to ''the currency of Israel.''
* PhonyVeteran: What Eli became after Operation Tupacalypse.
* TooDumbToLive: Thinking Tyce's greeting card is a cheque as well as "parkouring" onto his parents' dinner table.
* TuxedoAndMartini: How Eli saw himself during Operation Tupacalypse.

!!Kyle, The Weed Dealer
[[quoteright:205:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/941b055ceec32e9f9266655fb9b2fc67.PNG]]
[[caption-width-right:225:The vegan weed dealer himself.]]
Jace, Tyce, and Eli's weed dealer and friend. Shows up several times, most notably to give Jace a tarot card reading using Apples to Apples cards.

* CelebrityResemblance: Some have noted that he looks a little like the famous Unabomber police sketch in his [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x_eC0oi7WOs first appearance]]
* NewAgeRetroHippie: One of his major traits.
* UsefulNotes/TarotCards: Well, Apples to Apples cards.

!!Gail Connors
->Played by: Gayle Fitzpatrick

Jace's religious fanatic single mother, who's just as delusional as Jace though more of an religious fanatic than anything else.

* AsTheGoodBookSays: Often refers to the Bible, and the "Forgotten Bible", for their beliefs and definitions of what is right and wrong.
* CatchPhrase: "Young man"
* {{Cult}}: Believes in the "Forgotten Bible" that the pastor has seemingly conned her into believing.
* TheFundamentalist: Her personality is mainly a crazier version of this.
* HeteronormativeCrusader: Strongly believes that men and women must follow their respective stereotypes in order to be considered "[[NoTrueScotsman real Americans]]," lest they become gay.
* InsaneTrollLogic: Believes eating foreign food, wearing denim shorts, and [[ArsonMurderandJaywalking listing to dubstep]] leads to homosexuality.
* NoTrueScotsman: She categorizes people between "Americans" and "gays/foreigners." Failing to live up to Gail's idea of a "real American" means you fall into the latter category, no exceptions.
