Due to being based off of canon, there's a considerable amount of overlap between canon characters' appearances in both fanon and canon. Try to keep tropes for canon characters to events that have happened in-fanon, unless they're fundamental elements to the character, like [[{{General Failure}} Daala's incompetence]]. Events that have taken place at different times and for different reasons, such as Daala's appointment to Chief of State long before the Second Galactic Civil War, don't count.

->''"Death is too small an obstacle to bar me from my destiny."''
-->-- '''Darth Xaos'''\

The founding father of both the Obsidian Union and the New Sith Brotherhood. Xaos was born (circa 5,100 BBY) as Norg’ari; a clansman in a Noghri tribe dwelling on Bethrezen, one of the moons of Ziost. He was transformed by a Rakatan device into a wraith that could possess the corpses of recently-deceased. After living out several lifetimes as many people, Xaos - then known as Rakesh Dawnstar fell under the tutelage of Count Dooku, serving as his secret Apprentice after Savage Oppress. A key part of Dooku's plans to supplant his master and create an army of Sith, the end of the Clone Wars threw a hydrospanner into the works. After moseying about for the entirety of the Galactic Civil War, Dawnstar was recruited into the New Sith Order under Darth Groznii. The rest, as they say is history...
----
* AffablyEvil: Xaos was incredibly personable, highly educated, a witty conversationalist and could eloquently argue any philosophic or political point he wished. He used these talents to create the biggest, most organized angry mob in Star Wars history.
* AGlassOfChianti: Averted. Xaos’ preferred alcoholic beverage was Juma Juice which is closer to vodka than wine.
* AndIMustScream: A fairly literal example. On a mission Xaos encountered Jedi Master Tionne Solusar, with whom he had indirectly duelled through philosophical writings for some time. After defeating her in combat, Xaos used Force Dominate to permanently alter her mind. Knowing that Tionne valued nothing more than her ability to impart Jedi lore to others, he completely removed her ability to communicate in any fashion. Depending on whom you ask this was a Crowning Moment of Awesome, High-Octane Nightmare Fuel or a Kick the Dog moment. Or all three.
%%* BaldOfEvil: Fortunately for him he's in a science fiction setting so he has the plausible deniability of claiming it just means he looks futuristic.%%What?
* BigBad: He's Dark Lord of the Sith. How could he ''not'' fit this trope?
* BlueAndOrangeMorality: When over five thousand years old you live to be, see how human your morality is.
** MoralSociopathy: When your suitcoats have a higher average lifespan than the inhabitants of the galaxy, ideas about the inherent value of sentient life tend to fall flat. But belief in the destiny of the Sith being written before the dawn of time is far more appealing.
* BodySnatcher: Xaos started life as a Noghri tribesman but was transformed into a wraith that could possess the freshly dead by a mysterious Rakatan machine. Had to BodySurf at first as the bodies continued to decay under his occupation. He learned to prevent this after possessing the corpse of a Jedi during the Great Hyperspace War. Ironically, Xaos himself was often a victim of this. When in a weakened state Xaos’ possession allowed other spirits to force him into quiescence and control the body he currently occupied. The longest of these instances lasted from the start of the Jedi Civil War to the start of the Clone Wars. During this time he was under the possession of a member of Ludo Kressh's family. His eventual Sith training taught him to resist this but he didn’t find out what had actually happened until much later.
* ChaosIsEvil: Played with. While not being especially chaotic (or really chaotic at all) Xaos’ Sith name is spelled the same as the ancient Greek word for chaos. Pronounced differently though (Zay-[long O]s and caows respectively).
* CharacterAlignment: Type 3 Neutral Evil
* {{Chessmaster}}: Frequently outmanoeuvred the New Republic and First Order despite the fact that they had superior firepower, manpower, technology and funding. He once leaked false news of a First Order attack on Sullust to clear the way for a secret raid on Coruscant. Despite his Dark Council being privy to (what they believe) are ''all'' his plans, he still has a number of secret projects still proceeding ''right'' on schedule, without the knowledge of anyone else in the Brotherhood.
* ClassicVillain: Played with as he’s a protagonist rather than an antagonist but, on reflection, Xaos is very much this to Luke Skywalker. He represents wrath to Luke's mercy, is a master of politics whereas Luke is constantly getting screwed over by political developments, a sophisticated aesthete compared to Luke still having shades of farmboy even decades later, has no hair and a dark beard contrasted with light hair and no beard and dresses as an archetypal dictator compared to Skywalker’s fairly unremarkable sartorial choices. Xaos certainly accomplished a fair number of his objectives before being defeated. Deception and manipulation were his modus operandi; in fact, several bastions of Union support were once equally as dedicated to the Rebel Alliance.
* DarkMessiah: As if the choice of avatar didn’t make this obvious?
* TheEmperor: Averted; intentionally so, in fact. Xaos didn’t want the target on his back that comes with an imperial title in a post-Palpatine galaxy. The fact that he hated Palpatine for a ''wide'' variety of reasons probably also contributed. One can almost imagine an in-universe equivalent of the (probably apocryphal) story of George Washington refusing the offer of American kingship where Xaos turns his nose up at the idea of being emperor of the Obsidian Union. Of course, his political power was no less absolute for settling on the modest title of Consul . None of this stopped Neo-Imperialists among the Union and Brotherhood referring to Xaos as "Emperor", however.
* FountainOfExpies: Only somewhat and very subtly in the use of the proper noun "Bethrezen". The first Bethrezen was the moon of Ziost that Xaos was born on and was later wiped of life by Darth Malak. The then-capital of the Union was named New Bethrezen in its memory. Yet, out of the site’s continuity, Xaos’ player used the name for a LawfulEvil Cleric he played in a Dungeons and Dragons game. This was after the name was given to the moon but before it was given to the space-station in real-life time. Said player took the name from a series of turn-based strategy games called Disciples wherein it is given to the games’ equivalent of Satan.
* JustTheFirstCitizen: Within the Union the position Xaos held has absolute power with no checks or balances. It is called “Consul.”
* IControlMyMinionsThrough: Authority, all variants of Loyalty, Money, Mind Control, Power, and Sadism.
* ManipulativeBastard: Checklist time. Convince the rest of the Sith Council to overthrow the Dark Lord so you can make a play for the position later? Check. Sit by and do nothing when someone seizes the Dark Lord title illegitimately so you can later come in like the heroic cavalry and thereby claim the tile for yourself? Check. Convince numerous impoverished or marginalized planets that their problems can all be solved by killing your enemies? Check. Use said planets to create a culture that serves only to create one, giant anti-Jedi lynch mob? Check. Radically rewrite history to suit your purposes then decry any other versions as propaganda? Check. Convince a group of bored nobles that you can make them immortal if they worship you? Check. Sacrifice as many of your followers as necessary to further your personal crusade against the Jedi? Check.
* ManOfWealthAndTaste: All the old-world courtliness you’d expect of someone who has lived for five millennia.
* MayflyDecemberRomance: More than a few over the millennia. The key one being the one true love of his life, err…unlife, Karina Panarii. Her death sent him into a fugue that lasted from the start of the Jedi Civil War till the start of the Clone Wars. It's implied he had a thing with Darth Vidia, before she defected to the First Order.
* PresidentEvil: More like President-for-Life Evil. But, either way, Xaos is the founding father of the Union and his face is plastered Lenin-style on every Union street corner.
* PurpleProse: Xaos spoke in this as a side effect from living for millennia and missing out on all cultural development in a few of them.
* UniversallyBelovedLeader: Just try and find a Union citizen who has a single bad thing to say about Xaos. No, seriously, go on, we’ll wait for you. Interestingly enough, extends into out-of-character opinions as well despite players having the luxury (which said citizens lack) of knowing what a heartless bastard Xaos actually was. That sinking feeling you’re experiencing now is you losing faith in humanity.
* VillainWithGoodPublicity: And how. Xaos created an entire propaganda machine designed to cast the Union as the hope of the Galaxy and himself as the heart and soul of the Union.
* VisionaryVillain: Xaos was (once) obsessed with the vision of a unified Galaxy under a restored Sith Order imparted to him by his Master, Count Dooku.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: It is the destiny of the Sith to rule the Galaxy. It is the Will of the Force that the Sith rule the Galaxy. The Jedi and all others who stand in the way of the Force’s Will must die. Thus spoke Xaos.
* WhoWantsToLiveForever: This is basically the core of Xaos’ character concept.
* WickedCultured: Made sure to include an opera house on Raxus Secunda. He's very well-read.

!!Darth Lucifer
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/luc_9.png]]
->''''Evil? Evil is a word used by the ignorant and the weak. The Dark Side is about survival, unleashing your inner potential. It glorifies the strength of the individual.''"''
-->-- '''Darth Lucifer'''\

An ancient Sith from the Old Empire, long before the rise of Darth Bane. Lucifer, known then as Kmâ-Ryts was born an unlegitimized bastard of Clan Adzâd, whisked away like all castoffs to Ziost where it was hoped he'd remain out of sight and out of mind. Kmâ-Ryts resolved to live and aspired to climb to the rank of Warlord. Through sheer brutality, he bested his peers and emerged as a vicious enforcer, serving faithfully under Tulak Hord. It was Hord who elevated Kmâ-Ryts to the position of Darth, and annointed him Ryûsh Ã'fa, the Red Warrior. Tulak foresaw his own death, and demanded his faithful servant live in order to preserve the Sith ways for a worthy successor. So it was that the Red Warrior would enter long periods of Sith trances, with a host of soldiers, waking periodically across history until he found the Dark Lord whom he sought for centuries - Darth Xaos.

----
* AsskickingLeadsToLeadership: He rose to the position of Tulak Hord's own SOB machine through plentiful bouts of murder, and later became the leader of the Brotherhood's cadre of Sith Marauders. Considered to be one of the longest living members of the original Dark Council.
* BandOfBrothers : Can best describe Lucifer's affiliation with Lyun, Verril, Faeotian, Reaver and Exolus.
* BattleCouple: Lucifer and Lady Lyun's.
* BadassBoast: ''Seems even a dead man can bleed.'' -- during a duel to a notably powerful Sith and former member of the Sith Council, previously presumed dead.
* BerserkButton: Harming his love Lady Lyun, or his surrogate sister Lady Faeotian. He also will go berserk at the deaths of close friends, and he's really not fond of traitors to the Brotherhood.
* CainAndAbel: Formerly with Exolus. The two have since reconciled. (See DarkAndTroubledPast)
** One (Lucifer) wanted to uplift and rule the dying Sith species as a new, strong Sith King, while the other (Exolus) saw them as expendable tools for the Dark Lord. This lead to more than a little animosity between them.
* CoolShip: The Ahriman, a modified Preybird Class Assault Starfighter. Considered one of the most heavily armed starfighters in the fleet due to the armanent of a Stygium based cloaking field, lightweight cortosis ore foils, two heavy laser cannons, two concussion missile launchers equipped with Cortosis tipped missiles and two dual fire-linked laser cannon, topped off by an intimidating shape. Tends to be a feared sight.
* CharacterAlignment: Lawful Neutral.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: Lucifer has a troubled and dark past. He lost half his memories when a bomb planted by the Jedi went off right beside him.
** As Exolus was once the victim of a botched assassination attempt via bomb, it was this shared trauma that allowed them to begin reconciling their differences.
* DoesNotKnowHisOwnStrength: When confronted by several Sith assassins, Lucifer eventually used Force Repulse on them. Unfortunately, as he was still getting used to his own levels of strength in the Force, this had the result of not only disintegrating the assassins, but he also trashed the tent they were fighting in and killed almost a full squad of Council Guards, the most hardy, well-equipped and well-trained soldiers in the Union. It didn't improve public opinion of him, to say the least.
* DragonAscendant: Lucifer was appointed to the Dark Council following the defection of Xaos' then-closest Sith after Exolus.
** If Exolus is Xaos' right hand, then Lucifer is his left clenched fist.
* DrillSergeantNasty: Lucifer is a brutal teacher who punishes failure on a regular basis.
* DualWielding: This is Lucifer's main combat specialty. He is a master at using two weapons to confront his foes and is rarely seen these days without two sabres close to hand.
* EndangeredSpecies: The Massassi as a whole are few and far between these days and are uncommon in the galaxy making Lucifer a rare exception.
%%* FireForgedFriends: Lucifer and Reaver.
* GratuitousForeignLanguage: Sithese. He sometimes speaks with his fellow Sith Exolus in the language of his people, but he mostly speaks Basic for convenience.
* IAmNotLeftHanded: Lucifer is known to toy with his opponent's, holding back, pretending that he has a serious handicap, then deciding to stop the charade and fighting with full force as he takes it up a notch.
* JustTheFirstCitizen: Holds the position of House Lord within the Obsidian Union, but rarely swings his authority around.
* KungFuWizard: Lucifer is a superb martial artist who combines force use with his martial ability in equal measure.
%%* LargeHam
* LightningBruiser: His Strength, Toughness and Agility are high, making him a physical force to be reckoned with.
%%* MadeOfIron:
* MeaningfulName: Ryûsh Ã'fa, meaning Red Warrior in the Massassi language coincidentally sounds like the Corellian ruler of Hell's name; Lucifer. The name stuck.
* OldSoldier: Despite being fairly young in Massassi terms, Lucifer is still in his 60s in human years and has fought in countless battles throughout his life.
* OverlyLongName: Kmâ-Ryts Chahjdow yr Adzâd. Even Lucifer's forgotten it, so now he simply goes by "Red Warrior", or just Lucifer.
* ParentalSubstitute: Lucifer's relationship with Darth Rayden and Darth Blazze, particularly after the former adopted both of the latter.
%%* ProudWarriorRaceGuy
%%* RaisedByNatives: Fairly adequate description of his past.
%%* RedOniBlueOni: Red to Exolus's Blue.
%%* RenaissanceMan
* ReplacementGoldfish: Lucifer once had a romantic fling with one of the Witches until she disappeared for years without any contact. As such he fell in love with Lady Lyun when she arrived.
* SomeCallMeTim: He has quite a long name, which he himself long forgotten. As such, he's usually simply called Ryûsh by his distant relative and by others Lord Lucifer (or simply Lucifer).
%%* SeenItAll: Weary Traveler variant.%%Meaning?
%%* TautologicalTemplar
* TeacherStudentRomance: The relationship between Lucifer and his lover/apprentice Lady Loon.
* TheBlacksmith: Lucifer is a excellent armorer. He is currently searching for the information he needs in holocrons and scrolls to become a [[{{Ultimate Blacksmith}} master armorer]].
* TheButcher: Lucifer gained the title "The Butcher of Korriban" after the aforementioned instance of not knowing his own strength.
* TheSacredDarkness: Lucifer believes this.
* TheSpartanWay: Being raised in [[ProudWarriorRaceGuy Massassi]] culture, Lucifer received this growing up.
* TrainingFromHell: Lucifer was trained from the age of 7 in the traditional Massassi culture, then under Tulak Hord, and then again on as a Sith Marauder when he undertook gruelling physical and mental conditioning under his master, Darth Nefas.
* VillainousFriendship: Type I best describes the friendship between the Dark Lord Xaos and Lucifer.

!!Darth Reaver
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/darthreaver.png]]
->''''Information, is ammunition.''"''
-->-- '''Darth Reaver'''\

A former Jedi Knight who participated in the Yuuzhan Vong War, and believed to be one Calen Dareg, Reaver publically leads the Obsidian Union's secret police as head of the Galactic Liberation Party, formed from a group of anti-slavery mercenaries. When Dareg could not reconcile his differences with the Jedi Order, he parted ways with them, and began rounding up Mandalorian exiles. His master and many contemporaries perished during the Battle of Ithor, near the war's end, and with the death of his next of kin, Reaver's official records were left spotty at best. Cold and unflinching, Darth Reaver holds a fierce reputation for having a short temper, a calculating military mind, and a complete intolerance for slavery and organized crime.
----
%%* AcePilot
* BadassArmy: The Jaig Legion - the Obsidian Union's secret police comprizing a small army of pissed-off Mandalorians loyal to Reaver.
* {{Chessmaster}}: You don't get on to the Dark Council or lead the secret police without knowing how to make a plan.
* TheDragon: Reaver works closely with Darth Lucifer, serving as his second-in-command. As far as heirarchy goes, Reaver is about as close to Lucifer's dragon as possible.
* EvilBrit: Though there’s never been any in-character confirmation that Reaver speaks with a British accent, the extreme Britishness of his player would suggest that he does.
* FourStarBadass: Reaver holds the highest military title in the Union, and could kick your ass quite easily.
* HairTriggerTemper: Ares made a sarcastic remark when Reaver was flipping out on a Jedi Padawan after becoming lost in his explanation of his fall to the dark side.[[DisproportionateRetribution His response was to freeze Ares in place]] [[MindRape and make him feel as if his very skin was on fire using his power of Illusion.]]
* OurPresidentsAreDifferent: President Action; in his role as Chair of the GLP.
* TranquilFury: ZigZagged. Sometimes, he's calm and collected despite being pissed off. Other times, he shouts and roars. Either way, you're screwed.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: Reaver's willing to do ''anything'' to further both the Union’s cause and that of the Sith.

!!Darth Faeotia

''Wisdom is found, not in the hearts of people, but through the clarity of the mind.''

One of the last living members of the Shi'ido Royal Family - though she makes no claims to her throne, Faeotia, born Rhaenonna Serrentae initially studied under a sect of Dathomir Witches, distinct from the Nightsisters. A prophetic 'dreamseer', of often infaillible Force visions, she served no-one but her sisters. In her dreams Rhaenonna foresaw the destruction of her people, and their eventual emancipation by the Sith. Inducted into the New Sith Brotherhood, the newly-annointed Darth Faeotia proved an invaluable asset to the Sith, and earned her seat upon the Dark Council, serving as the Dark Lord's clairvoyant.
----
* CoDragons: With Xyrafus and Reaver to Darth Lucifer (as the enforcer of the Dark Lord's will). While Reaver is Lucifer's right hand, and Xyrafus is his closest martial ally, Faeotia's place in the pecking order is more akin to that of a brother-sister relationship.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: Born into a culture that (at the time) viewed women as property. After fleeing the sacking of her homeworld was forced into a harsh life as a Dathomir Witch
* FemmeFatale: If it were somehow possible for a role-playing forum to have a soundtrack then it would shift to slow, smooth saxophone music every time Faeotia enters a scene.
* TheHighQueen: In an unofficial capacity. She used her birthright to unite her disparate people and bring them to the Raxus System.
* HotWitch: The premier example in the Brotherhood. Her shapeshifting abilities mean that, no matter what you're into, she can become it.
* LadyAndKnight: Married to Verrill, a Sith Marauder and, appropriately enough, aspiring Sith Templar.
* MeaningfulName: Averted. Unlike almost every Sith ever, Faeotia’s name is cool sounding but utterly meaningless.
%%* MemeticMutation: BECAUSE NYX, CHILD!
* MurderTheHypotenuse: Averted. By the end of the Second Union Civil War Faeotia was the only surviving member of the Xaos-Vidia-Faeotia triangle.
* NobleFugitive: Lived as this for roughly fifty years after the sack of Lao-Mon before returning to 'claim' her crown and repatriate her people to a new homeworld. A long stretch of this period was not fun for her to say the least.
* PregnantBadass: Managed to keep up the vast majority of her duties with the Brotherhood while pregnant with Verrill’s child. Becomes doubly impressive when one considers that being pregnant with another species’ offspring is incredibly painful for (and, more often than not, lethal to) a Shi’ido.
* {{Shapeshifting}}: A trait shared by all members of her species.
* VillainousFriendship: Type 1 with Darth Lucifer to the point that she has declared herself his sister despite not only a lack of blood relation but also the two being different species. However, this isn’t that odd for a member of her species as their culture has a much more abstract concept of family than other peoples.
* YouHaveFailedMe: Just because she ultimately came to hate her Sith Master, Darth Vidia, doesn’t mean that the latter didn’t rub off on the former. Faeotia notably killed the manager of her nightclub for failing to keep attendance up (not to mention let Xyrafus eat the preceding one; good luck, number 3!).

!!Darth Xyrafus
[[quoteright:284:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/2TDy85uwzTHRq3jXN72UHFMt6YJcH2c7_66_4300.jpg]]

''Xyrafus is the kind of person who climbs to the top of a hill in a thunderstorm, wearing bronze armor and yells "All gods are bastards!"''

Xyrafus is insane. There's no other way to say it. A former Tusken named I'orik Ra'zoc, Xyrafus has long since been brainwashed into absolute loyalty to the Dark Lord as the Scourge, the individual charged with personally rooting out conspirators and traitors. Heading up the Sith Assassins, he's very fond of testing his apprentices by sending very large, very deadly animals at them, and is also prone to going completely out of control at times and making an [[Anime/NeonGenesisEvangelion Evangelion]] look tame. Oh, and he eats people too.
----
* BrainwashedAndCrazy: In the sense that he's been brainwashed into absolute loyalty and is absolutely insane.
* CharacterAlignment: Neutral Evil. He has shades of both Chaotic Evil (such as how he's prone to assaulting and/or murdering people who he dislikes) and Lawful Evil (brainwashed into absolute loyalty to the Dark Lord), but Neutral Evil overall fits him best.
%%* ImAHumanitarian
%%* ComedicSociopathy
* ImprobableAimingSkills: Once fired from one side of New Bethrezen to the other and managed to hit his target, horribly defiling the laws of physics in the process (to be clear, New Bethrezen is a torus).
* KineticWeaponsAreJustBetter: Prefers solid ammunition to blasters.
* LivingWeapon: In a sense; his arm has a built-in, organic flamethrower. It'd be fairly accurate to say Xyrafus himself is a living weapon.
* ProfessionalKiller: Xyrafus heads up the Assassins on the site, and is also the only Assassin currently at Master level.
%%* SuperpoweredEvilSide
* UndyingLoyalty: Xyrafus' loyalty to the Dark Lord is absolute, and one of the main reasons why he holds the position of Scourge (the foremost law enforcer in the Union, charged with dealing with treachery by whatever means necessary).

!!Darth Exolus
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/schmecksoluss.png]]
->''"I cannot die. I am forever."''
-->-- '''Darth Exolus'''\

A member of the dwindling Tsis (Sith) species of Korriban and seemingly-immortal Sith Master - Darth Exolus, born Kmâ-Aruoi Âdzâd is the first apprentice of Darth Xaos, when Darth Groznii's New Sith Order was still in its heyday. A phantom to the galaxy at large, Exolus is seemingly in two places at the same time, and a complete enigma to his allies while a terrifying boogyman to his foes.

----
* AboveGoodAndEvil: A mild subversion, at least as far as the Force is concerned. Exolus believes the Force is responsible for manipulating the morality and fates of Force Sensitives. As such, those who turn from it, or like him - seek to subvert it are of a higher moral stock.
* AppealToInherentNature: Exploited. The Tsis are as superstitious and mistrusting as they are barbaric and dangerous. Under their current ruler - Supreme Warlord Zsinj they'd prove a detriment to the Sith Order. Exolus exploited their xenophobia and religious fervor surrounding a 'resurrected' King Adas in order to keep them complacent.
** It's just another clone.
* BackFromTheDead: Before he became Exolus, Kmâ-Aruoi showed an impressive level of willpower. When his mentors, the Nathema Zealots subjected him to the crushing Void the planet possessed, it actually killed him, splintering his mind from mental trauma. Somehow his lingering will allowed the pieces to reform, letting him rise from death. Only, it wasn't just Kmâ-Aruoi who returned...
* BadassArmy: The 501st Legion. Yes, ''that'' 501st Legion.
* BadassBoast: ''"Look upon me, and know what I did to myself, now... Think of what I could do to you."''
* BeneathTheMask: Both figuratively, and literally.
** He wears his mask to hide his badly-disfigured face which is... Horrific to look at, to say the least. His mask, while certainly sinister to look at, but better than frightening people to literal death.
*** Figurative in the sense that his experiences and insight have led him to craft a villanous persona that will expedite the completion of his goals.
* BlackEyesOfEvil: They used to be the typical Sith yellow.
* BrownNoteBeing: For most people, simply being in the same ''room'' as Exolus is enough to cause them some degree of physical pain or sensations of illness. There is something profoundly ''wrong'' with Exolus, and no-one really knows why.
** This extends to other Sith Councillors. Even Darth Xyrafus - a noted cannibal and gleefully-maniacal murder machine that's impossible to intimidate or terrify gets very, ''very'' unsettled in Exolus' presence, and doesn't like to make eye contact with him.
* CameBackStrong: Dying didn't seem to stick. Rather, the experience empowered him.
* CameBackWrong: Though he appeared to claw his way back from death, he wasn't himself anymore. Someone, or something else took over his body. [[spoiler: Maybe... It's implied to be an eldritch being from the Void that Exolus was able to bind to the same unshakable will that allowed him to survive in the first place.]]
* CoolMask: Kallig's Countenance, a skull-like helmet that's been passed down his father's line since the time of [[{{Characters/StarWarsTheOldRepublicImperialClassSithInquisitor}} Darth Nox]]. It doesn't do anything other than look slightly-sinister while hiding his features, which are badly-disfigured.
* CloneArmy: Most of the 501st Legion joined either Imperial Remnants, or the First Order. Enough of the aged Fett Clones joined the Obsidian Union to be cloned themselves. Exolus managed to snatch these fresh clones up for himself.
* [[{{ReligionOfEvil}} Cult of Evil]]: As a Sith Priest-King, Exolus has crafted a fake cult known as the Church of Illathurion. In theory it's a Void-worshipping Dark Side cult. In practice it's a group dedicated to the study of the most esoteric aspects of the Force, as a means of better understanding the true enemy.
* EldritchAbomination: Exolus is at least-partly some kind of Void-based creature or gestalt personality of his original Tsis self, and whatever might have latched onto him from the Void. Lumiya discovered this, much to her own horror.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: While his philosophy is undoubtedly Darwinian, Exolus separates people into three categories.
** The Powerful - Those who grow strong through the trials and tribulations of life, including those who struggle, yet die anyway.
** The Powerless - Those who have had their trials and opportunities stolen from them (i.e slaves and non Force-Sensitives), and must be freed.
** The Weak - Those who steal power from others, and must be crushed. (slavers, drug dealers, politicians, etc...)
* EveryoneIsASuper: Played with - Exolus' primary motivation; He seeks to either subvert the Will of the Force or destroy it, which he perceives as an uncaring, unfeeling god that will sacrifice countless people to achieve Balance. Either it must be destroyed to free life from it, or subverted, so all life is touched by it equally.
* FriendlyEnemy: Exolus tells Kyp Durron as such, that he is merely an enemy of the Jedi by their political affiliation, nothing more. In fact, he reminds them that before the Republic, there was no distinction between Jedi and Sith.
* GoMadFromTheRevelation: Defied. The [[{{VideoGame/StarWarsTheOldRepublic}} Nathema Zealots]] almost always go insane when they gaze upon the Void, growing dependent on it. Though experiencing it shattered his mind and body, Exolus survived, placing him in a small group of people who have done so. Or perhaps it's better to say he went so mad he snapped back around to sane again.
* ImplacableMan: Somewhat-justified. See [[spoiler:* MesACrowd]]
* OlderThanTheyLook: Averted. He's 97, going on decrepit-looking. Oddly enough the Sith species age slowly, up to and beyond 300, making Exolus comparatively ''young''.
** Consume you it will indeed Master Yoda.
[[spoiler:* MesACrowd]][[spoiler: How does Exolus appear to be in multiple places at once? How is he always several steps ahead of his foes? Because he literally is. Like Darth Vitiate, Exolus discovered how to split his consciousness across multiple bodies. Most of them are clones of himself. Others... Are clones of captured foes and willing allies... Literally anyone could be another Exolus. It's why he also has zero fear of dying. He's done it many times before.]]
* SupernaturalFearInducer: He possess complete mastery of mind-altering Force Powers such as Dominate Will, Insanity, Illusion and the rare Essence Transfer, which allows him to take over the bodies of others. Some of his fellow Sith feel ill simply by being in his mere ''presence.''
* TheChessmaster: A classic, manipulative bastard. The disturbing thing is he was already quite skilled at moving pieces... As a child.
* TheCreon: To Darth Xaos. Exolus neither aspires to become the Dark Lord, nor would he take the position if the opportunity fell in his lap. In fact, despite being arguably the most powerful Sith in the Brotherhood, Exolus is content to be the Dark Lord's right-hand.
* TheDreaded: Both he, and his starship, a giant pyramid-shaped vessel called ''The Amgydala'' are this. Spacers in the Outer Rim tell stories of it swallowing smaller vessels whole. The Alliance believe Exolus is a made-up piece of Sith propaganda, and the First Order believe 'Exolus' is a group of Sith working together to sow the seeds of terror. Only the spacers are partly-correct.
** [[spoiler:The First Order however, are completely correct. Exolus is indeed a group of Sith. Except that group is Exolus, who has split his consciousness across multiple cloned bodies.]]
* TheGhost: Even to the Obsidian Union and the Sith. He often acts through intermediaries, so some of his fellow Dark Councillors aren't entirely convinced he's actually real suspect Exolus is one of many stand-ins when "he" shows up in person. Only the Dark Lord knows for certain.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: [[spoiler: Exolus, whether right or wrong has concluded that the Force twists all life to its will in order to maintain balance, while the Force itself is a without consciousness or conscience, and as such fights to subvert its influence. He may be off the mark, but he truly believes he is serving the greatest good, which he's willing to sacrifice his life for.]]

!!Darth Ares
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/archeraresextraversionwhogivesashitsmalerl2_9465.jpg]]

''One man's death is a tragedy. A million is an atrocity.''

A Miralukan hailing from a (partially) regenerated [[VideoGame/KnightsOfTheOldRepublic Katarr]] and a very distant descendant of a male Jedi Exile and Visas Marr, Darth Ares (real name Tora Venaris) has spent most of his life struggling with his loyalties, first due to running away from his father after accidentally killing a man, then his loyalties to the Union, especially his master (who later turned traitor) Lady Vidia. After a hefty chunk of angst, a trip through the Tomb of Marka Ragnos, beating its trials, being granted a vision of a possible future and personally being given the former Dark Lord's scepter left Ares with a clear purpose and a determination to make things better for everyone he could. A military man, Ares commands the Union's Terrestrial Forces, and as a future Warlord will eventually have his own private army and navy. Valuing honor, justice, integrity and compassion, Ares still struggles with his loyalty to his desire to do what he believes to be the right thing and the actions the Union asks of him, the possibility of full-scale war becoming an increasingly likely possibility.

Under Revision.

!!Darth Vanno
[[quoteright:261:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/darthvannotvtver_54.jpg]]

''Only the insane have strength enough to prosper. Only those who prosper may truly judge what is sane.''

Also somewhat crazy (though nowhere near as much as Xyrafus), Vanno is one of the individuals on the Lord Path, with his eye on becoming a Priest-King and using religion to establish a group of followers. Vanno is a fair master, if difficult to please, and an extremely capable tactician (being appointed Acting Supreme Commander of the Terrestrial Forces on occasion), his tactical mind is usually concealed behind (seemingly) irrational, random actions that keep people guessing as to his true nature.
----
* AmbiguousDisorder: Sometimes when in a completely all-out serious matter he starts to goof around.
* BeAllMySinsRemembered: Vanno has done a couple things he regrets, but has vowed to make amends to the people he hurt. Through his good deeds that he had done, he still doesn't see himself as good enough.
* {{Bookworm}}: Loves to read many books, mostly about past historical events. Other times he reads scrolls, parchments, and holy books that pertain to certain cultures just out of curiosity.
* CharacterAlignment: Chaotic Good. Good at heart, but doesn't show it due to his chaotic nature.
* AChatWithSatan: The Daemon within. It taunts him, forcing Vanno to slowly slip into its grip. He needs to face it head on and destroy it before it consumes him.
%%* CollectorOfTheStrange
* DrunkenMaster: Vanno hasn't figured it out, but he does everything better when intoxicated.
* DynamicEntry: Loves to go for the surprise tactic of entering. If inviting him to your home and expect him to come from the front door, don't. Vanno would rather pop out of the ground, or through the roof, maybe even the wall.
* FluffyTamer: Friend with animals and has a dream of becoming a Beast Lord. Owns a pet shop on New Bethrezen, selling "best friends" to any and all.
* GoodIsNotNice: Willing to save a person, but later scold them on their stupidity. Or throw them out the window for failure.
* IAmWhatIAm: He's psychotic at times, and acts unlike the other Sith; part of it due to the daemon within him. Many disapprove of his behavior, and only some accept it. Though not a soul knows of his Daemon.
* ICanStillFight: Even if hurt, Vanno will shrug it off and keep fighting. He will not go down easily regardless, and will fight to the last breath.
* KungFuWizard: Quite skilled at hand-to-hand fighting and utilizing force powers to achieve maximum damage.
* LifeOfTheParty: Usually tends to bring most of the excitement to any party; goes wild half the time, and takes the party to the streets.
* MadDreamer: Dreams of the impossible. Thinks of the insane. Plans to prove to everyone that anything is possible with enough will.
* ManHug: Not afraid to go in for a hug towards his bro-Siths.
* ManipulativeBastard: For the sake of his plan, Vanno let Drakonis be captured in the place of another Trandoshan and subjected to torture by Union Intelligence.
* MasterOfNone: Is reasonably proficient in the use of four or five (of seven) different lightsaber forms, but nowhere near master of any of them.
* MuggingTheMonster: Known to have scared a group of pirates enough to have them give Vanno all their valuables along with their [[MakesJustAsMuchSenseInContext pants]]. Not afraid of anything, but the Daemon within him.
* NoSenseOfPersonalSpace: Loves to get close to people and make them feel awkward.
* PetTheDog: Will stop to pet any animal even if on an extremely important mission. There will always be time to treat the animal a nice treat. He adopted his pet Borhek, Karmen, after finding it hurt and scared in the jungles far outside a gladiatorial arena.
* SealedEvilInACan: Vanno's body is host to a Daemon that has a habit of chatting with him about various things.

!!Lady Loon
[[quoteright:298:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Loon_4534.png]]
''I trust you, but I will not run...it is not the Marauder way and it is not in my blood. You must understand.''

Second only to the Dark Lord in raw skill with a Lightsaber, despite still being a mere apprentice, Loon is one of the Galaxy's few remaining Massassi. Young by Massassi standards, she often acts naive, with an eager desire to develop her fighting skills as far as possible. Recently, she learned her heritage was one of royalty, her father being the head of the Hekk clan of the Sithese. Extremely passionate about both fighting and her heritage, Loon never backs down and prefers people not to stick up for her, using her Master and lover Darth Lucifer as a goal to reach and surpass.
----
* AlwaysSomeoneBetter: Lucifer. Loon sees him as an example of what she wants to be and surpass, but that's not likely to ever happen.
* AuthorityEqualsAsskicking: Loon is second In Command of House Maiesta, giving her considerable authority within the house and over the Marauders in general. Being a Marauder herself, she's one of the more combat-capable members of the Brotherhood.
%%* BloodKnight
* BattleCouple: Loon and Lucifer, though it's fairly rare that they fight together.
%%* CharacterAlignment: Lawful Evil.%%ZCE, YMMV.
* ImprobableAimingSkills: ''Damn'' good shot with a blaster.
%%* LightningBruiser
%%* MartialArtsAndCrafts
%%* SpiritedCompetitor
* TheStoic: In the wake of her Knight trials, Loon became very cold and tough.
* TeacherStudentRomance: With Lucifer, her former Master, who is also the Dark Lord.
%%* UndyingLoyalty

!!Darth Athor
[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/athormsb_9276.jpg]]

''I'll try not to jump impulsively into any fights.''

Sarcastic, quick-thinking, instinctive and a bit of a chatterbox, Athor is one of the few members of the Brotherhood that aren't a) dead serious by default or b) insane. Born to Nautolan ambassadors from Glee Anselm who died when he was only seven, Athor passed into the care of Ferro, a Trandoshan Coruscanti Crimelord, becoming a proficient acrobat and an excellent cat burglar. Usually forgiving (though not lacking the capacity to hold a grudge), serious trouble with the authorities led to Athor leaving Coruscant and wandering the Galaxy, eventually being discovered by a Brotherhood member and taken in for training as an Assassin, extending on his existing skills.
----
%%* CharacterAlignment: A somewhat darker version of Neutral Good.
%%* DeadpanSnarker
%%* DualWielding
* GeniusBruiser: Speaks five seperate languages, with an extremely high intelligence stat.
* MartialArtsAndCrafts: Extremely proficient in numerous forms of martial arts.
* OnlySaneMan: Athor's role in the (now disbanded) Assassin house. Even so, he's still usually the most down to earth member of the brotherhood in whatever room he walks into.
* ParentalAbandonment: His died when he was 7, though fortunately he found a father figure in the Crime lord that took him in.
* StealthHiBye: Even more so than most Assassins due to his high agility; he can basically walk behind a lamppost and stop existing for a while.

!!Lady Hecate

* HotWitch: Hecate has a slightly lower than average Presence Stat… but that has absolutely nothing to do with her looks.
* InterspeciesRomance: She had this with Drakonis, for a short while. She got bored.
* JunglePrincess: Hecate was a somewhat atypical example of this during her years living in Dol Gorath’s forests.
%%* LadyOfBlackMagic
* LastOfHerKind: Hecate is the only survivor of the Matasian Sith. The Heretic’s Hammer trilogy focused its storyline on Hecate *making* herself this for the Byssian Sith by killing off the other survivors.
* MagicKnight: Like many Dark Side Witches, Hecate combines combat ability with mystical power to impressive effect.
* ReplacementGoldfish: She's gone through no less than four men, trying to ''find'' one.
* SiblingRivalry: Her brother, Jaden Star, is a Jedi... 'rivalry' is an understatement.

!!Darth Niamh

''"Eat, drink, and merry-make, for tonight we are still alive!"''

* AcePilot: Despite coming from a planet that commonly uses spears and clubs for personal combat, Niamh loves flying, and has become a strong pilot in her own right.
* AmbiguouslyEvil: Niamh is definitely selfish, and she's definitely on her way to becoming an EvilOverlord. But at the same time, she's a ReasonableAuthorityFigure, she encourages others to love themselves and be secure in their own identities, is a big proponent of self-determination, and she believes in equal opportunity for all species and genders.
* ArbitrarilyLargeBankAccount: To put it in perspective, a rank 3 resource asset says that if the holder were to supplement that current income with additional sources, he or she could be one of the wealthiest beings in the galaxy. Niamh has a rank 3 ''and'' an additional rank 2.
* AtLeastIAdmitIt: Niamh's stance on the Jedi/Sith conflict, and [[VillainHasAPoint she might have a point]]. Pacifists, except in times of war and who wear one of the most frightening weapons in the galaxy on their belts, defenders of freedom, as long as it doesn't contradict their anti-Sith stance, and no tolerance for murder, except when the murderer converts to the order like Kyp Durron, because then all is forgiven.
* AwesomenessByAnalysis: Niamh's greatest asset; she is literally able to study an opponent (or ally) and their fighting style, discover flaws, and exploit them in the middle of combat (or cover for them, in the case of an ally). This, combined with her other skills, makes her a formidable opponent, despite her lack of physical prowess.
* BadassAdorable: At less than five feet tall, Niamh is the shortest currently active member of the Brotherhood, has underdeveloped "feminine assets," and could be mistaken for a child were it not for the heavy blaster strapped to her hip. She's a Sith Lord and has force potency in the same bracket as Darth Exolus (a Sith Master and the most powerful member in terms of the Force. She is an ''apprentice'' with little formal training prior to joining the Brotherhood), at one point deflecting rockets away from herself and into the allies of the ones who fired them ''on reflex''.
* BigSisterInstinct: Do not, under any circumstances, attempt to harm someone she has made up her mind to protect, be it [[EvenEvilHasLovedOnes a friend]], another Sith, [[AMotherToHerMen a military squad]], or just someone she's taken a shine to. She will ''shred'' you.
* BitchInSheepsClothing: Niamh has no problem cozying up to you to get what she wants. She also has no problem stabbing you in the back a minute later.
* BrainyBrunette: Brown hair and explicitly genius levels of intelligence.
* CreepyDoll: Niamh sleeps with a Darth Vader body-pillow and a General Grievous plush-toy. Bear in mind that in the context of this universe, that's akin to sleeping with a doll of Heinrich Himmler.
* CunningLinguist: Niamh has the ability to pick up literally ''any'' spoken language after a few minutes of conversation. Galactic Basic is actually her ''tertiary'' language, with her secondary being Sithese, learned for no other reason than to understand [[WickedCultured Sith Operas.]] Her quaternary language is Muun, for business purposes.
* CuteIsEvil: Niamh is less than five feet tall, wears sensible clothing, compared to the form-fitting, midriff-baring, cleavage-flaunting attire of the [[SensibleHeroesSkimpyVillains typical Dark Side Female]], and is lacking in some departments, though [[PetitePride she actually likes that about herself]]. If she attempted seduction, it'd be easy to mistake her for a FilleFatale.
* DaddysLittleVillain: Originally, she was intended to carry on her father's legacy of cruelty, domination, and generally being a prick. Her bond with her [[BigBrotherMentor eldest]] [[MoralityPet brother]] largely prevented this. Not that she turned out much better, overall.
* EthicalSlut: Contrary to her otherwise selfish nature, Niamh takes kindness, honesty and openness with her romantic partners ''very'' seriously, and is willing to try just about any romantic arrangement that doesn't involve her getting married.
* EverybodyHasStandards: Niamh may be willing to lie, cheat, steal, and kill for her goals, but god help you if she finds out you're a [[SlaveryIsASpecialKindOfEvil slaver]] or a [[RapeIsASpecialKindOfEvil rapist]]. She will tolerate many other crimes given her individual-centered moral system, but crimes that represent a conscious, deliberate efforts to strip away the basic power of sentient beings are a death warrant at ''best''. She also argued for the outright ''destruction'' of a Sith holocron that contained the formula for a zombie apocalypse virus, being fully aware that such a thing is too difficult to control, and that one mistake could destroy a planet, or the galaxy, potentially.
* FaceOfAnAngelMindOfADemon
* FragileSpeedster: Niamh has invested in the Force Speed power to give her an edge in combat. However, she's still exactly as sturdy as you'd expect a woman less than five feet tall and raised like a princess to be.
* GeniusSweetTooth: Niamh is brilliant, and she loves her sweets so much that [[WordOfGod her player]] admits that under interrogation, the best way to get information out of her is probably a glass of milk and a plate of cookies (torture would either just piss her off or break her beyond usefulness, and playing mind games with a Sith Lord is a recipe for disaster).
* GirlsLoveStuffedAnimals: Niamh has a collection of them... though two of them happen to depict Darth Vader and General Grievous (a body pillow and a plushie, respectively).
* GirlyBruiser: Admittedly, Niamh blurs the line between tomboy and girly girl-- on the one hand, she loves blazing through city streets on a speeder bike, on the other, she has a collection of stuffed animals that covers the walls of her room, and pink features quite prominently in her room's color scheme. Either way, you'd better hope you're not on the opposite team when she's fighting.
* GlassCannon: Niamh can dish out serious damage, her weapons of choice being a lightsaber and a heavy blaster pistol, to say nothing of her sheer force potency, but she's also fragile, and so relies on not getting hit in the first place.
* IAmWhatIAm
* IControlMyMinionsThrough: authority, all variants of loyalty except indoctrination (thus far), money, love, and a piece of the action.
* ItsAllAboutMe: Actually built into her moral code; if The Force didn't want her to be greedy and self-centered, it wouldn't have given her the drive to do so, after all.
%%* MamaBear:
* MoralSociopathy: Niamh's entire moral system is based upon the belief that all people should just be themselves, whether that's a CoolOldGuy or a brutal bounty hunter. In service of her ideals, she'll do just about anything she deems necessary, and she expects everyone else to do the same.
* NoblewomansLaugh: Niamh's "real" laugh is one of these. She has other laughs that she uses in different contexts, however.
* NonIdleRich: Niamh is probably rich enough to buy a bottle of champagne, take a drink, and throw the rest away because she only wanted a sip, without so much as blinking. This in no way prevents her from kicking ass in typical brotherhood fashion.
* ParasolOfPrettiness: Niamh owns one, and carries it about on walks in the park.
* PintSizedPowerHouse: Niamh is 4'10", making her the shortest member of the brotherhood, taller than Jaina Solo by only a single centimeter. She also has the highest possible spirit stat for an apprentice and can analyze an average combatant's fighting style and begin exploiting its weaknesses in approximately twelve seconds.
* PlatonicLifePartners: Niamh is this with her "business associate," Varrik Antilles, a criminal mastermind on Telos IV. Each of them considers the other "the only person who loves me as much as ''I'' do."
* ThePowerOfFriendship: Invoked. Niamh is fully aware of how powerful connections to others are, and so deliberately cultivates relationships with others.
%%* ThePowerOfLove: Invoked alongside the above.
* RagsToRiches: On her planet, a club is still a commonly used weapon, and most people have no idea what a datapad is. So she's gone from living in a hut to being one of the wealthiest beings in the galaxy.
* RightMakesMight: Niamh believes that if a cause is worth achieving, people will rise to fight for it. As far as she's concerned, no cause is lost as long as even one person remains to fight for it.
* TheSacredDarkness: Niamh is one of the few members of the brotherhood to join the Sith entirely by choice and on her own initiative. [[AlternativeCharacterInterpretation As she sees it]], the Sith Order is about accepting and embracing one's self, even the parts that others might not like.
* ShamelessSelfPromoter: While the ''others'' were wasting time doing X, ''she'' was hard at work doing the more useful Y.
* SquishyWizard: Niamh has officially taken the cake, for the moment. As an ''apprentice,'' she has force potential in the same bracket as Darth Exolus. When she becomes a Master, it's entirely possible she could have the sheer force potency to rival Luke Skywalker. She also has sub-average strength and toughness, meaning she has to rely on her agility, intelligence, and the force to make up the difference.
* ToxicFriendInfluence: Her preferred method of leading people to the Dark Side involves this, though she honestly does care about the people she's corrupting and will steer them clear of outrageously risky activities. She feels that by helping them throw off their inhibitions, she's helping them be truer to themselves.
* VisionaryVillain: Niamh wants to put an end to a society that she perceives as encouraging BystanderSyndrome and apathy, and replacing it with a galaxy where every individual is free to pursue his or her own ideals. Whether this is a utopia or a dystopia is up for debate.
* WeakButSkilled: What Niamh relies on. In lieu of physical prowess, Niamh uses psychological warfare, training, deception, and intellect to outwit, outlast, and outmaneuver her opponents.
* WickedCultured: Niamh loves opera, encourages artistic pursuits, and has explicitly genius levels of intelligence.

!!Darth Amorata
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/amoratansb_5763.png]]

''Serving the Force is much like walking a tightrope. There's always the danger of falling off the correct path into oblivion... And some jump off on their own, thinking they can fly''

Amorata is a formal, quiet girl (at least on the suface) with a manipulative streak, a long, grudging memory, a strong taste for information and knowledge, and no qualms about sending others to do her dirty work. She originally joined the Jedi at the age of 6, leaving her with few memories of her family to speak of. A combination of curiosity and a Sith Holocron she discovered slowly pushed her to the Dark Side, culminating in her fleeing the Jedi after the holocron persuaded her to/tricked her into killing her best friend and object of romantic affections. She then wasted no time in casting off her old identity to work as a freelance slicer, and quickly came to appreciate the power that occupation brought her, in addition to her enjoyment of learning for the sake of learning (and for the sake of using and combining information to her own ends). Eventually found her way to the Brotherhood, and is training to become an Acolyte and thereby bring her information skills up to the next level.

* MinionWithAnFInEvil: She tries to be evil, but this apprentice simply can't get the 'stop being nice' part down.
* MissionControl: Quite fond of sitting back at HQ and sending others to do the dirty work whilst providing them with information and logistics.

* AGlassOfChianti: Kairlin drink of choice is Emerald Wine, vintage 3 ABY to be precise
* CharacterAlignment: Lawful Selfish. Kairlin's in it for number one but he still holds himself to the code of brotherhood, even if he only sees it as a device to meet his selfish goals.
* TheCharmer: He is a incorrigible flirt, and very attractive.
* TheDarkSideWillMakeYouForget: As time went on the nature of his work drained his ambition to find something more.
* DesperatelyLookingForAPurposeInLife: When Kairlin first joined the Inquisitorius it was on his father's orders and Kairlin proceeded, with a desire to become something more.
* FauxAffablyEvil: He's nice to everyone he meets, but underneath it all he doesn't give a damn.
* ItAmusedMe: After everything Kairlin has gone through, this is all that is left of his motivations.
* MasterActor: As a famous and varied actor Kairlin honed his skills to a fine point, even waltzing out of his prison disguised as the captain of the facility .
* NotAMorningPerson: When Kairlin was woke after 25 years of slumber he wasn't his cordial self.
* PerpetualExpression: Kairlin always smiles, a pleasant friendly smile, that invites one to share their life story with him.
* TheSacredDarkness: To quote Kairlin: "In the darkness there is true freedom. In the darkness we are all equal. No one is judged by there appearance, or race, any deformities unseen."
* ThinkingOutLoud: Does this often due to his film history, where he would often monologue to convey information to the audience.
* TroubledButCute: Kairlin is was trapped in stasis for decades, meaning everyone he knew and cared about is either dead or aged beyond recognition. He's also the most physically attractive member of the brotherhood.* WeUsedToBeFriends: This applies to Kairlin and Shyther. Shyther was Kairlin's informant when he worked for the Inquisitorius.
* WickedCultured: Kairlin was born to a privileged royal family and was brought up as such; learning a basic understanding of cultural faux paus, wearing fine sith robes, enjoying expensive meals of Braised Larkin Nerf and emerald wine, to the accompaniment of a Sith opera would be a perfectly delightful evening for Kairlin Dufre'.

!!Kana Kuran
[[quoteright:227:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nphkanakurannsb_4568.jpg]]

Grand Admiral of the Union's Stellar Navy and commanding officer of its flagship, the Executor-class Star Dreadnaught Righteous Fury, Kuran was originally a wunderkind in the service of the Galactic Alliance. Born on Bastion during the waning years of the Galactic Empire, Kuran took after his father, a passionate Imperial Officer of the Empire who used his connections to secure Kuran a place in the Imperial Navy at the scant age of fourteen. Kuran distinguished himself during the Yuuzhan Vong War, when he took control of the Executor-class Star Dreadnaught New Dawn after most of its crew was driven insane by spores and succeeded, against at odds, at defeating the Vong taskforce before going on to serve the Alliance from the bridge of the ''New Dawn'' for the duration of the war, earning countless accolades and commendations. Always having disagreed with the unification of the Remnant and New Republic into the Galactic Alliance, Kuran ultimately defected to the Union when he was placed in command of a taskforce assembled to annihilate the fledgling government, publicly receiving the rank of High Admiral and retaining command of the New Dawn, which was renamed the Righteous Fury and appointed the Union Fleet Flagship. Since then, he's been a key figure in all of the Union's military actions, particularly in the Battle of Teth, where the Righteous Fury destroyed the Galactic Alliance flagship and killed Supreme Commander Cha Niathal, and the Second Union Civil War, where he was instrumental in turning the forces Lady Vidia had assembled against her and providing irrefutable proof that Vidia was responsible for Xaos' death.
----
* BadassNormal: Kuran is in no way Force-sensitive, but he's at ''least'' equal to military members of the Brotherhood in terms of his tactical capabilities and personality.
%%* TheBattlestar: The ''Righteous Fury''.
* BiggerIsBetter: The Righteous Fury.
* CoolShip: As both its commanding officer and the Union's Grand Admiral, Kuran's personal ship is the Union's only Executor-class Star Dreadnaught, and one of its only two Star Dreadnaughts in general (the other being Darth Reaver's Xendor, which is reserved for Reaver's personal use).
%%* GeneralBadass

* ParentalAbandonment: The death of Kuran's father during the Yuuzhan Vong War hit Kuran hard, as he gained many of his ideals (particularly his idealisation of the Empire) from his father and spent his life following in his footsteps.

!!Kas
[[quoteright:250:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kasnsb_704.jpg]]

Director of Obsidian Union Intelligence, Captain of the Astral Claws pirate group, Head of New Bethrezen security, Chief Executive Officer of the Brotherhood of Independent Traders[[note]]The official name for the organized pirates the Union harbors, who also control all traffic to New Bethrezen[[/note]] and rather unconcerned about the illegality of his actions, Kas has always had strong ties with the Union. Due to the Union's welcoming attitude towards piracy (so long as it's against the Alliance), the Astral Claws were firm supporters of the Union's cause and always willing to lend out a hand, as long as they got something in return. Due to their participation in the Battle of New Bethrezen at the end of the Second Union Civil War (most notably, straight-up ramming an Acclamator as it attempted to dock with the station to deploy troops), Kas was promoted to Director of Intelligence (or rather, promoted himself) and has served the Union even more faithfully ever since, using his associates within the Galaxy's criminal underworld to find the little tidbits of information his job requires.
----
* CoolShip: The ''Astral Dragon'', a prototype Dragon-Class Heavy Cruiser that the Astral Claws boarded and stole from former Imperial Moff Delurin, self-proclaimed Warlord of Wild Space. After subduing Delurin, the Astral Claws began using it as their base of operations. Aside from a prodigious armament, it also has the capability to ram an Acclamator I-class assault ship and completely disable it without taking a scratch, the crew presumably laughing and hooting as they do so.
%%* GlassEye
* {{GMPC}}: Like Kuran, Kas is usually controlled by Xaos.
* HiddenWeapons: Keeps a hold-out blaster somewhere on his body. Nobody aside from Kas really knows where.
* LovableRogue: How Kas presents himself to others; the reality of it being pretty different. His true nature is occasionally revealed in certain moments (for example, killing prisoners just because he didn’t want to go through the trouble of keeping them captive) but in general the act is a hard one to pierce. Kas has not only fooled player-characters with this act but (prior to the publication of this trope) also fooled actual players.
* MinorMajorCharacter: Despite being one of the most important individuals in the Union, Kas rarely shows up in actual role-play. Usually he turns up for a scene at most, doling out delicious information like the ice-cream man on hot Sundays, except his ice-cream usually results in many explosions.

%%* SpacePirates
* TheSociopath: Read Kas’ backstory in the site’s Fanon section then read the DSM IV section on diagnosing Anti-Social Personality Disorder. He’s a textbook case in the most literal sense of the phrase. The poor impulse control aspect mellowed notably as he aged (especially after joining the Union) but the other aspects remain intact. Kas is very good at hiding the full extent of this. Of the currently living player-characters, Darth Ares is the only one to have reason to suspect this of Kas.

!!Council Guard Commander Barquom
[[quoteright:250:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/barquomnsb_162.jpg]]

The Ubese Commander of the Council Guards, Barquom is probably the toughest sonofabitch in the Union, master or no. As the Council Guards are the most elite of the Union's elite and Barquom still puts them all to shame, he usually only makes appearances in extended political operations where the Dark Lord himself is involved, or when the Consul's Palace on New Bethrezen is threatened. One of the few commanders to remain loyal to the Union throughout the duration of the Second Union Civil War (most others answered to Vidia and only turned their backs on her when proof of her treachery was revealed. And after she'd force choked a few subordinates), Barquom is, quite simply, someone you ''seriously'' do not want to mess with, Force-user or no.
----
* BadassNormal: Jedi Masters would have a tough time taking him down. He beat the hell out of Exolus and his mother, both extremely strong in the Force, by turning up out of practically nowhere and beating them down with his fists before they even knew they were there.
* BlingOfWar: As opposed to the rest of the Council Guards, who wear either golden Stormtrooper armor or golden Ceremonial Guard armor (depending on whether or not they're likely to see combat), Barquom wears a set of golden Ubese armor.
* ChurchMilitant: Whilst not a straight-up example, Council Guards have the most religious aspect of the regular armed forces, unflinchingly loyal to the Dark Lord and willing to lay down their lives to die without a second thought due to the strength of their beliefs in the Dark Lord and Dark Side Spirits.
%%* {{GMPC}}: Same as Kuran and Kas, really.%%How?
* LuckilyMyShieldWillProtectMe: When in combat, Council Guards lug around massive Bronzium shields for defense. A group of them working together for defense puts the Greeks at Themopylae to shame.
* MadeOfIron: When Lucifer released a massive Force Repulse that completely disintegrated his intended target, annihilated the tent they were in and killed the entire rest of the squad Barquom was assisting him with, Barquom got off with a mild concussion and a bit of dizziness.

The legendary Alliance hero and stalwart New Republic defender. The man who destroyed the Death Star. redeemed Darth Vader, rebuilt the Jedi Order from next to nothing, quelled countless wars and slayed the Yuuzhan Vong Warlord Jamaane. The list goes on. If you don't know who Luke Skywalker is, you shouldn't be on this page. Following the end of the Yuuzhan Vong War, Skywalker scattered the Jedi Order after the encroaching First Order enacted a new purge against his Knights. Retreating to Acht-To with his wife, son, niece and a handful of skilled Knights, Luke spend years in isolation with his enclave, until the Jedi were called back to the front lines, when it became apparent that they were required to defeat the growing Knights of Ren.
----
%%* AcePilot: Not that he ever flies anymore.%%So how is he an example?
* BewareTheNiceOnes: Luke Skywalker is courteous, polite and respectful to everyone he encounters, including his enemies, and would be hard pressed to draw his weapon if he's encountered even a powerful opponent, preferring instead to reason with them, talk them down and try to draw them back to the Light Side if he thinks there's a chance of it. 471!!Natasi Daala
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/daalatvtropes_5420.jpg]]

Following Chief-of-State Cal Omas' utter failure at squashing the Union's political movements in its crib, the defection of Kana Kuran and the loss of numerous planets, systems and resources, a vote of no-confidence ousted the man who'd led the Alliance since the end of his Vong War. For his replacement, Natasi Daala reappeared and, with the backing of the Imperial Remnant and Alliance Supreme Commander Gilad Pellaeon, was appointed to the position of head of the Alliance. Having arguably no further success at defeating the Union's backroom politics than Omas did, Daala's general response has been to turn the Alliance progressively more totalitarian and kick-start some anti-Jedi policies before the Order gets too involved, to help cement her power. Despite having only a few actual appearances, all of these point to Daala being a ''much'' more threatening opponent, politically and militarily, than she is in canon.
----
* CurbStompBattle: Daala and the forces of the Deep Core warlords vs Andor Vaklas.
* GeneralBadass: Surprisingly. The one time we've seen her actively take the field in this metaplot has shown a cool, level-headed commander and shrewd politician who effortlessly annihilated an only slightly inferior enemy fleet by mapping every single possible possibility and accounting for each, then exploiting the enemy commander's pride and over-reliance on the Force to almost effortlessly destroy him. Pellaeon's obviously been giving her lessons.
* GeneralFailure: Less so than in canon, particularly when taking how effortlessly she curbstomped Andor Vaklas' forces, but Daala still has shades; every one of her canonical losses until the Legacy of the Force series began still happened, and in some cases were even more humiliating (the forces she led against the New Republic in the Remnant's final campaign before the peace treaty were even more powerful and well prepared than in canon and yet she still lost). She is, however, a lot more intelligent and cunning, and was able to seize power of the Galactic Alliance in a landscape considerably different to the one that lead to her becoming Chief-of-State in canon.
The below curbstomp, and certainly in general terms: as the First Order-Alliance Ware hasn't really kicked off yet, thus Daala hasn't had a chance to show off the Maw Irregular Fleet, she's still essentially that one Admiral who was been beaten at every turn without much effort on the part of the New Republic. The Union continuously handing the Alliance its ass in the Senate has only exacerbated the problem.
* HoistByTheirOwnPetard: Daala was, decades ago, responsible for Andor Vaklas managing to locate one of Palpatine's secret strongholds in the Deep Core; after Vaklas spent several years bumming around the Deep Core with a big fleet and doing what Sith do best, Daala used him as an excuse to unify the Deep Core warlords, engaged his forces and kicked his ass. Their retreat hyperspace jump lead them to the stronghold, where Vaklas found a cache of Dark Side holocrons and started in motion the events that would eventually lead to the creation of the Union and New Sith Brotherhood, as well as Daala's accelerated rise to power (which is ''not'' going to end well for her with the Union on the stage).
* PresidentEvil: Using the traditional war with the First Order and the political one in the Senate to consolidate her hold over the Alliance, turn the Alliance increasingly more totalitarian and campaign politically against the Jedi? Tip of the iceberg. At least she hasn't started using Mandalorians to put down slave revolts yet -- that we know of.
%%* TookALevelInBadass: Compared to canon.
* TyrantTakesTheHelm: A bad idea, as under Daala the Alliance is actively becoming exactly what Union propaganda says it is: a totalitarian dictatorship. Without her the Union would have a much tougher time politically (and thus militarily) and they'd have considerably less members supporting them.

In the wake of Supreme Commander Cha Niathal's death at the Union's hands at the Battle of Teth, Pellaeon was the first choice for her replacement, leaving the Imperial Remnant in the hands of Jagged Fel and taking up the vacant post. True to form, Pellaeon is calm, wise, respected, admirable, honorable and utterly brilliant at what he does -- not that he's had a proper chance to test himself against the First Order, or the growing Union's Stellar Navy yet. He is also, arguably, the main reason Daala's totalitarian policies are being kept marginally in check for the time being, despite being one of her strongest supporters.

Wedge's first appearance in fanon was in command of a task force launching raids into First Order space in the aftermath of the Union's violent campaign through Hutt Space, all the wat to the First Order's borders. Taking a page from the book of Han, Wedge has got a bad feeling about all this.
----
* TenMinuteRetirement: Almost a running gag in canon, considering how frequently it happens. This time, Skywalker was the one to convince Wedge to return to active duty, as Wedge knows to trust Luke when he talks about growing darkness.
* AcePilot: It's ''[[Literature/XWingSeries Wedge freaking Antilles]]''. The only reason he's not in the cockpit and flying Rogue Squadron into battle is because nobody will let him anymore and because he'd probably shoot down half of the Brotherhood.

Turning up a [[Literature/FateOfTheJedi decade early]], and about a [[ComicBook/{{Legacy}} century before they take center-stage]], the One Sith have had small, yet important appearances so far: massacring a Union outpost on Utapau (and capturing and torturing Loon and Ares when they came to investigate), and (far more importantly) attempting to sabotage the elections on Korriban. Winding the clocks back a bit, they're also arguably appeared one more time, when a prior incarnation of Darth Xaos dueled and defeated a certain [[http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Darth_Krayt A'Sharad Hett]] on Tatooine during the Clone Wars. Funny how often Hett seems to get his ass handed to him there. Fortunately (somewhat) for the Alliance, they haven't revealed themselves to anyone save the Brotherhood yet, who are keeping their existence nice and quiet at the moment.

As the Dark Lord for the One Sith, that places him in direct opposition with Lucifer and Skywalker both. Krayt, unknown to most of the galaxy, already has a history with the Union's founder: during his former life as a Jedi, Krayt dueled and was defeated by Darth Xaos when he was inhabiting a different body, leading to the annihilation of all of Krayt's forces.

Founded on Dromund Kaas some three thousand years ago, the Order of Revan, or the Revanites select a worthy member of their group, to receive Revan's mask and robes. These Sith artifacts are imprinted with the memories of Revan himself. To wear them is to become "Revan", man or woman. In this, the Order always ensures that each generation is protected from ancient Sith spirits by the Prodigal Knight, in secret or otherwise.
----
* AboveGoodAndEvil: Though they follow the Sith doctrine, the Revanites employ teachings of both Light and Dark. They do not consider themselves to be pulled one way or the other.

* TheCavalry: The Revanites managed to get the Sith Lords of the Brotherhood to cooperate with Jaina Solo's Silver Jedi to take down one of the latter's renegades, hellbent on bringing back the ancient Sith, Darth Vitiate.

!! The Order of Bogan

One of the more particularly-nasty sects of the disparate Nathema Zealots, the Order of Bogan, or the Boganites once considered Darth Vitiate - the Sith Emperor to be a prophet of the Undying Force, a twisted inversion of the Living Force. Where once they served Vitiate, their descendants... Descended into madness until Exolus spirited away the majority of the Zealots, leaving the Boganites and few others behind. They were ensnared by the maddening influence of the Void, rallying around seven powerful High Lords, who command biomechanical abominations against their foes - All Force Sensitives. It is unclear who, or what touched their minds from the Void, but it is hellbent on consuming life on a grand scale.

!!General tropes applicable to the Boganites:

* AncientEvil: They've been around for at least seven thousand years in their most modern incarnation. They may have served other masters before, and perhaps one ''[[Literature/FateOfTheJedi far worse]]'' since.
* CyberneticsEatYourSoul: Exploited and Averted. Practically every member of their cult is implanted with biomechanics. Normally, cybernetics rob organic life of the ability to channel the Force. Curiously, these implants seem to amplify it to some degree. High Lord Vastor is uniquely-immune to most Dark Side abilities due to replacing most of her internal organs with these implants. However, these implants leave the Boganites fatally-vulnerable to powerful Light Side techniques...

He became one of Vitiate's earliest Zealots when Medriaas became Nathema. Bound to the Void, Phatalis lived, thanks to his Emperor for untold centuries. Once free of his influence, Phatalis rallied followers to a cult deifying the Void. He remained on Nathema when it's new master, Darth Exolus, departed. Free to lead the Boganites, the cult - Phatalis included were ensnared by an entity stars away, peering through the crack in space the Void left...

* VoiceOfTheLegion: Due to his advanced age and reliance on cybernetics, Phatalis lacks vocal chords. He can speak through others, or disturbingly, speak to others... With their own voice.

[[quoteright:299:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/darthdrakonis_976.png]]
''I've had enough of Jedi'' and ''Sith. A plague on both their houses, and good riddance.''

Former apprentice to Darth Ares, "Darth" Drakonis joined the brotherhood to rebel against what he saw as rampant stupidity, hypocrisy, and pointless hatred in the Jedi order. In the end, he left the Brotherhood for the same reasons.
----
* TheAtoner: Drakonis has many actions to atone for. But after finally leaving the [[ToxicFriendInfluence Brotherhood]], he might just be on the right track.
* BattleInTheCenterOfTheMind: Engages in one of these with a Jedi master by pretending to be an archaeologist being possesed by a dark side spirit. He wins, despite having ''one'' rank in telepathy. Later, he does the same against a member of the Boganites, a group of Dark Siders so vile, they make the Sith of old look like saints. The presence is Cthulhu-levels of mind-raping, and nearly caused Drakonis to go "mass-murderer crazy," as opposed to his usual "eccentric and emotionally unstable crazy." Despite this, however, he still managed to distract it long enough to give Darth Lucifer a mild edge in combat.
* BattleTrophy: Inverted. Rather than taking the lightsaber of the previously mentioned Jedi he killed to celebrate his victory, he took it out of guilt, so that he'd never forget what considered to be a murder.
* BerserkButton: Pointless killing or torture. On Ryloth, when a number of defenders were executed for trying to surrender, he went full TranquilFury and politely warned the offenders that he intended to skin them alive and hang them from the rafters. Meanwhile, after his apprentice and he were captured and tortured by a former member of the brotherhood, Drakonis went batshit on him when he escaped, delivering a brutal beating before skinning him, drinking his blood, eating his heart ''while it was still beating,'' and taking his skull as a trophy. Perhaps fortunately, this all happens "off-camera."
* BreakThemByTalking: Drakonis loves doing this. Partly because he just loves speeches, and partly because it lets him win without anyone needing to be injured.
* BunnyEarsLawyer: Drakonis is snarky, has barked orders at ''Sith Masters'', will idly chat with the enemy given the chance, will say stuff that is just plain ''out there'', and seems to look at direct orders from his House Lord as more "suggestions" than anything, and completely willing to say "screw it, I have a better idea." The thing is, it ''works,'' which is probably why he didn't end up tossed out an airlock or charged with heresy.
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: Has one of these every so often, such as when he killed Vaan, or when he got Exolus sent into exile, separating him indefinitely from his pregnant wife, who was herself then taken to an undisclosed location to be used as leverage against Exolus.
* {{Character Alignment}}: ChaoticGood. Drakonis has done many questionable things, and he would be the first one to admit it. However, Drakonis has proven that at the end of the day, his loyalty lays not with the people around him or whichever order he serves, but with his own moral compass and ideals of right and wrong. He defies any authority that claims to have all the answers, and thinks for himself, living as a fugitive from both the Jedi and the Sith, on a one-man crusade against injustice.
* CharacterDevelopment: Drakonis has gone through major character shifts, originating as a SmugSnake and evolving into an idealistic MagicKnight. At his core, though, Drakonis remained the same; deep down, he was a child, seeking approval from a parental figure. It took a long time and a lot of effort to grow out of it, but now, Drakonis exists as a sort of vigilante knight-errant, wholly devoted to stamping out corruption and evil wherever he can, with no regard for the laws that get in his way.
%%* CoolShip: The ''Star-Viper''.
%%* DarkIsNotEvil: His former belief
* DeadpanSnarker: So much so that for Ares to agree to train him again, he had to promise to keep his sarcasm under control.
* DefectorFromDecadence: Played Straight and later Subverted. He joined the Sith because he thought the Jedi were unreasonable in their hard-line stance against them. [[StrawmanHasAPoint Later, he realized the Jedi were right,]] making him one of the only members of the Brotherhood to leave for the right reasons. Where just about every other traitor turned on the brotherhood for power, he left because he was sick of the killing, hatred, and hypocrisy. This time, however, instead of joining their enemies, he simply vanished entirely; he already knew the other side sucked just as bad.
* DrivenByEnvy: Originally, he was driven by a desire to prove himself to his master, despising Amorata for how easily she gained Ares' approval. In the end, he moved past this, deciding to leave the brotherhood entirely rather than continue tearing himself apart over his master's lack of warmth.
* HatesBeingAlone: Drakonis is a ''very'' lonely person. He puts a brave face on it, but it leaks through every so often.
* ImAHumanitarian: Played Straight. Drakonis was initially reluctant to embrace this particular appetite, but now, he's beginning to make a habit of devouring particularly hated enemies. Unlike Xyrafus, this is not played for laughs.
* IShallTauntYou: In keeping with his preference for psychological warfare, Drakonis engages in this to draw his enemies into making mistakes he can exploit.
* JackOfAllStats: As opposed to most Sith, who tend to be min-maxed to some degree, Drakonis was much more well rounded
* JourneyToFindOneself: Engages in this twice. The first, after a falling out with his master (this one didn't help; he largely pulled himself out of it). The second time, he took off after encountering a creature so depraved that making contact telepathically ended in MindRape. The original intent was for him to return, stronger and more stable than before. Instead, he decided not to come back.
* KineticWeaponsAreJustBetter: You can't reflect a bullet with a lightsaber. You can block it, you can disintegrate it, but once it's fired, it isn't coming back at you.
* LargeHam: Drakonis might qualify for his speeches and snark alone. But it's in how he [[HamToHamCombat reacts]] to ''[[WorldOfHam other hams]]'' that it really shines through.
* MageMarksman: Drakonis, though gifted with the force, is a crack-shot with a slugthrower, and even owns what amounts to a coilgun sniper rifle.
* MagicKnight: He has evolved into this over time, gaining respectable power with the force balanced with impressive saber skills.
* MuggingTheMonster: Apparently, the most appealing idea to a bartender is to tell the Trandoshan that just killed two intelligence operatives without breaking a sweat that he has to work off his debt and make him dress in a maid outfit.Fortunately for him, Drakonis decided to play along rather than slaughter everyone in the room. At least, not immediately.
* MoralityChain: He acted as this for Amorata. Scolding her and beating her over the head with her failures, partly out of resentment, and partly because no one else would.
* NonIdleRich: Drakonis is decently well off, to the point he could live off of his money in a fairly comfortable existence without doing anything to supplement his income. Doesn't stop him from swashbuckling around the galaxy.
* ParentheticalSwearing: Does this sometimes. Especially "With all due respect."
* PingPongNaivete: Drakonis is a rather intelligent person who has had more than a few near-human girlfriends. Despite this, he seems to not understand how mammals work sometimes, such as when he walked in on Exolus and his lover... in the middle of something. The official explanation is that, because the "biology" of intimacy terrifies him, he has become adept at shutting out his understanding of such things.
* ProudWarriorRaceGuy: DoubleSubversion- He's from a race of badass reptiles, but he's only as strong as the average human. He makes up for this with skill.
* ProperlyParanoid: He trusts next to no one. Hardly surprising given that Union Intelligence is a hive of traitors, his master has manipulated his emotions on at least one occasion, his fellow apprentice Amorata decieved him into killing a personal enemy of hers, and one of the members of the Dark Council turned out to be a heretic.
* ReligiousBruiser: Formerly.
* TheResenter: Formerly towards Ares and Amorata. In the end, he outgrew the need for his master's approval and left the Sith.
* RousingSpeech: He gives one of these before the Battle of New Brethrezen, channelling Patton towards the end and (unbeknowst to his player) at the begining, and ''Film/FightClub.''
* ScrewTheRulesImDoingWhatsRight: A frequent occurence with him. He performed this more often than is typically a good idea in a Sith order, but it never failed him, and his logical explanations were usually enough to keep his superiors off of his case. Even his decision to leave the brotherhood has shades of this; he's sick and tired of killing and destroying, finally realizing that the Union is just as bad as the people it fights.
* ScrewThisImOutOfHere: In the end, he said "fuck it" and left the Brotherhood, deciding to try to live a life for himself rather than for the approval of others.
* SirSwearsALot: He swears a lot more than most of the others. He favors 'frak', but 'kark' and 'kriff' are steadily gaining popularity.
* StepfordSnarker: Being sarcastic means you don't have to admit you're hurt, even to yourself.
* ThereAreNoTherapists: Drakonis' psychological issues are actually common for youth. Feelings of inferiority and abandonment, coupled with a dissatisfaction with his self-image. However, Drakonis was in a position that renders him more or less above the law, and is part of an order in which sociopathic tendencies are sometimes ''encouraged.'' The results of this non-existent support system were horrifying.
* TortureAlwaysWorks: Defied. Drakonis, as an inquisitor, is trained to torture information out of his victims. However, he also realizes how incredibly unreliable (and [[NobleDemon evil]]) torture is, and prefers to endear himself to the captive and make them ''want'' to help him, even if it takes a long time.
* TragicVillain: Played Straight, as one of the NecessarilyEvil, and later Defied. He knows what he's done isn't going away, but he did it because he thought of the Union as the [[ALighterShadeOfGray Lighter Shade Of Gray]] in the Union/G.A. conflict. In the end, he rethought this position, deciding both factions sucked just as bad, and left the war entirely.
* TrainingFromHell: Surprisingly averted. Aside from the House Xaos tradition of learning force speed by running away from a Krayt Dragon, his training has been gentler, with his master never actually attempting to cause him harm in any way. This in turn has carried into his habits, when training his own apprentices.
* TrappedInVillainy: Defied. The Sith practically wrote the book on YouHaveFailedMe. He stretched the boundaries of their patience to just within their limits trying to fight against this, and always maintained that if he thought that the G.A. were a better option for galactic peace, he'd return to the Jedi, and screw the consequences. In the end, however, he decided he'd had enough of Jedi ''and'' Sith, and that he was done killing, fleeing New Bethrezen and going into hiding.
* TookALevelInBadass: Drakonis started out as a bit of a cross between a SmugSnake and a ManipulativeBastard. He has since become a lightsaber prodigy, expert marksman, and has finally become more independent.
* UnwantedAssistance: Loon has a nasty habit of stealing his kills... Given that he's from a race of hunters where killing is a way to earn your place in the afterlife, he does not take it well.

!!Darth Groznii
''The Emperor made clear in [[ComicBook/DarkEmpire this last year]] one simple principle: the Empire’s greatness is not dependent on ships or political influence. No, it is the Dark Side of the Force that is the source of the Empire’s might.''

Arguably the single most important character in NSB's metaplot, Darth Groznii -- formerly Andor Vaklas, a Dark Side Elite in the Dark Empire under Palpatine -- was the man responsible for a great many things; his existence alone is the main point-of-divergence from canon. After the final death of Palpatine, Vaklas gathered a fleet and scoured the Deep Core in search of Avernus Station, a secret installation where Palpatine hid a cache of Sith holocrons as well as the locations of various caches scattered throughout the Deep Core and Outer Rim. After three years searching the core and a hasty retreat from a battle with Natasi Daala that cost him most of his fleet, Vaklas located the station and spent four years assembling an Empire and training himself in the ways of the Dark Side using the holocrons before declaring himself Darth Groznii and building a new Sith Order (that included, most notably, Darth Xaos), the predecessor to the modern New Sith Brotherhood. Groznii's Empire sat out the Yuuzhan Vong War with intent to strike against the victor, but internal conflict and power plays resulted in the Order and Empire tearing itself apart in the first of many Schisms in the site's history, in which Groznii (as well as most of his allies and loyal apprentices) was killed and the Empire's military capacity utterly devastated. This forced the Order into hiding and secrecy, where they formed alliances and developed policies and codes that would eventually lead to the formation and emergence of the Obsidian Union and New Sith Brotherhood as they are today.
----
* BackFromTheDead: Not Groznii himself, but [[Literature/XWingSeries Warlord Zsinj]] was revealed to have survived his apparent death at [[Literature/TheCourtshipofPrincessLeia Dathomir]] (as the X-Wing Series hinted could happen) and became Groznii's Military Executor[[note]]Essentially the Vader to his Palpatine[[/note]] before he eventually died for good.
* BigBad: The first Dark Lord in the site's history.
* BlueBlood: Groznii was Coruscanti nobility, which is why he was discovered to be Force-sensitive in the first place.
* CoolSword: The symbol of Groznii's reign was a weapon known as the Tridentate Lightsaber, a unique Lightsaber that possessed a two-pronged setting in addition to its regular single-blade setting. The weapon, like most of Groznii's power, was destroyed at the end of the First Schism that fractured the Order and claimed Groznii's life.
* DeusExMachina: Arguably, in a justified example; a blind hyperspace jump away from a losing battle led Vaklas' Super Star Destroyer to the space station he spent three years fruitlessly searching for. Justified because, well, the Force did it.
* IAmTheNoun: "I am the Empire!" Most likely an intentional CallBack to Palpatine's line in Episode III. He ''was'' one of Palpatine's Dark Side Elites, after all.
* MeaningfulName: "Groznii" is pronounced the same as "Grozny", which is Russian for "fearsome", "awesome" or "redoubtable". "Ivan Grozny" is also the Russian name for "Ivan the Terrible".
* NewEraSpeech: After spending almost five years carving out his own empire, Vaklas gave one to its entirety at once, declaring himself both Darth Groznii and the Dark Lord of the Sith.
* TranquilFury: Groznii's typical mode of anger was cold, contained rage. Whenever his rage wasn't cold and contained it was a sign that he was losing his grip and being overtaken by pure, blind rage.
* UnPerson: After the fall of the Dark Empire, the New Republic erased all references and records relating to Groznii, as he was the only remaining unaccounted-for Dark Side Elite. This ultimately turned out to be a ''huge'' mistake.
* YouHaveFailedMe: Groznii was arguably worse than most canon characters; it's outright acknowledged at one point that the act of throttling the bearer of bad news is utterly pointless, yet he does it anyway. His crewmembers are so used to it three years into following him that they replace the crewmembers he kills in ''seconds''.

!!Darth Vidia/Vidus Ren

''Honor? Honor is an illusion. All that matters is power and influence.''///

Born to the Saccub nobles on Coruscant, Darth Vidia, also known as Lady Issiri, was one of the most important figures in the Obsidian Union's history. Responsible for the vast majority of the New Sith Order's early victories in seizing territory, and the woman who spearheaded the now-infamous Operation Snowfall, Vidia was considered a tactical genius, and ultimately a harsh but fair Sith Master. She held a long-term romantic relationship with the Dark Lord, and near-unquestionable levels in power in the Union military and government as a result, commanding an elite legion called the Wachetroopers. Unlike her peers, Vidia was never able to reconcile her lust for power, and coveted the Dark Lord's throne. Her plot was uncovered thanks to a joint effort by Darth Kairos and Exolus, forcing Vidia to flee Union space. Eventually, she defected to the First Order, becoming one of the Knights of Ren - Vidus Ren.
----
%%* AcePilot
%%* AndIMustScream: Before she sicced her small army on Exolus and Kairos, the former attempted to inflict upon her what Xaos did to Tionne Soluusar. It almost worked.
* BadassArmy: Vidia was responsible for the formation of the Wachetrooper Corps, an elite private army under her personal command. Most died during the battle that ensued when her coup attempt was uncovered-- annihilated by the Chiss Ascendancy's automated droid armies or shot down in the space around New Bethrezen.
* TheChessmaster: One of the first. Oftentimes her plans would be going for months before anyone realised she had any.
%%* DrunkWithPower
* FantasticRacism: Vidia really didn't like non-humans. Her behind-the-scenes control of the notably racist Xucphra Corporation reflected this.
* GodhoodSeeker: This was the essence of her plan: absorb the Dark Side powers of Darth Xaos using the Scepter of Marka Ragnos and combine them with her own (already phenomenal) strength in the Force to become essentially unstoppable.
%%* {{Jerkass}}: After her power went to her head.
%%* {{Pride}}: The ultimate reason for the discovery of her plans.
* RealLifeWritesThePlot: Vidia's in-character betrayal came about because of her out-of-character betrayal: she attempted to seize control of the site after a lengthy absence (during which time she had another member spy on the actions of the site's leadership), chucked a massive temper-tantrum when she found out people were doing things without her and eventually had everyone locked out of the forums and the entire site closed down due to her friendship with the head admin. It took the better part of a year for the community to get back on its feet -- and if the site fanon and biographies hadn't have been saved, the entire site might have simply crumbled.
* SmugSnake: By the time of her defection, she was ''very'' much one. Part of which came from her usually being several steps ahead of her opponent, or knowing that in a short time she would be.
%%* SternTeacher:
* TeamMom: In-character and out, Vidia was looked upon as a mother figure, despite her often harsh policies; she trained a huge number of apprentices and ran numerous personal missions and site-wides. Her betrayal hit hard.
* TrainingFromHell: Even though she was fair, Vidia was still an extremely harsh master; off-hand comments, insolence, insubordination or sometimes even simple embarrassment would often result in her apprentices being put in hospital. They were undeniably ''effective'', but still harsh even by site standards. To give an example: Kairos once managed to trip her up in a lightsaber duel. She promptly tossed her lightsaber away and beat the hell out of him with her bare hands. When he commented "Well, wasn't that fun" afterwards (not realising she was still in earshot), she fried him into unconsciousness with Force Lightning and put him in hospital for several months. This was getting off easy by her standards. Oddly enough, she very rarely held anything against her apprentices -- she'd be there when they regained consciousness, would make sure they had learned a lesson from what she'd done. A harsh teacher, but a teacher nonetheless.
* WithGreatPowerComesGreatInsanity: It's debatable, but by the time of her death she was barely recognisable as herself anymore. Her insanity plus her pride and overconfidence were used by the Brotherhood against her and ultimately managed to decimate her army, and force her to flee.
* XanatosSpeedChess: Quite adept at this as well.
* YouHaveFailedMe: Quite fond of channelling Vader when it came to incompetent subordinates.

A small group of skilled individuals that are in some way, shape or form, associated with the Obsidian Union. Operating under the name of a black ops squad, called the Ravenwood Group, these individuals are from many walks of life, much like the Sith they ultimately work for. However, where the Sith are akin to the Kings & Queens in chess, the Ravenwood Group are merely pawns, albeit skilled, talented pawns called upon in a pinch.

A retrofitted Czerka Arms HK-series assassin droid, HK-77 originally belonged to Darth Exolus, before being blown to pieces and reconstructed. HK, as his master's most faithful servant often loans his services to the Ravenwood Group, as its plethora of skills and equipment are invaluable assets in the field.
----
%%* AxCrazy: An HK model? Natch. HK-77 as this in ''spades''.
* BadassBoast: When an enemy blurted out "What the hell?", HK-77 took it literally, and promptly informed him, "Apology: I am afraid current hyperspace technology does not cover extradimensional realms of religious significance." Then stabbed him before sufficing his murderous act with...
