The quintessential "template" character for MUGEN, Kung Fu Man is a martial artist who fights to rescue his girlfriend from the evil Suave Dude. Despite his basic gameplay and shallow level of code, (to help beginners learn the programming language) or perhaps because of them, he remains a significantly popular character, with countless edited versions of him by innumerable creators across the community.
----
* AnimeHair: His hair stands on end.
* ArtShift:
** Most notably seen between his first and second version, which made him less {{Gonk}} and with a black t-shirt below the gi, being this version used for the next version for 1.0.
** There're some KFM versions in which MUGEN creators recreate him with new and different sprites in different styles: in Creator/{{SNK}} style (a ''[[Videogame/TheKingOfFighters KOF]]'' edit of Ryo Sakazaki with Joe Higashi), in {{anime}} (redrawn by OGGY, the creator of Ryuko) and even as ''[[VideoGame/CapcomVsSNK2MarkOfTheMillennium CVS2]]'' [[VideoGame/StreetFighterII Akuma]] (a sprite PaletteSwap called as "Kung Fu Fan" with all KFM moves, which is an [[VideoGame/AntiGoukiProject Akuma clone with all KFM moves]].)
* BadassNormal: Doesn't even use fireballs or ki powers! Despite this, he somehow does have the inexplicable ability to DoubleJump.
* BareFistedMonk: The only attacks he has are attacking with punches or kicks.
* BoringButPractical: He's ''far'' from being the flashiest character and lacks long-range or projectile attacks, but his moveset with specials, supers, a throw, a DoubleJump, and a DefendCommand is generally able to take on most opponents if the player uses him well.
* BrickBreak: Breaks a thrown wooden board in his intro.
* TheCameo: Basara-kun's Eric has him as AssistCharacter. He also stars as a character in Another Kung Fu Girl Z's story.
** GuestFighter: In ''VideoGame/ClayFighterInfiniteClayfare'', joining VideoGame/EarthwormJim and Videogame/{{Boogerman}} as the third guest in this fangame. [[AllThereInTheManual His backstory]] is still his neverending search for his girlfriend... which eventualy leads him to Klaymodo Island for the events of ''VideoGame/ClayFighter'' series.
* CloseRangeCombatant: Kung Fu Man has a variety of close range attacks, but no projectiles.
* DifficultButAwesome: With the right player/AI, he can be a surprisingly dangerous fighter, with the capability to knock off [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=egxqTppcZ2Y#t=01m28s a third of a character's health bar]] for the mere cost of half a super meter!
* DeathCryEcho: His death cry is notably for echoing three times.
* DefendCommand: His 1.0 version has a command block called the Kung Fu Block, it allows him to parry attacks.
* DoubleJump: Is capable of doing so via inexplicable means, and is probably the only trait of his that isn't "[[BadassNormal normal]]".
* DownerEnding: [[spoiler: He's unable to rescue his girlfriend as there was no Suave Dude character created at the time.]]
* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness: The [[https://mugen.fandom.com/wiki/Kung_Fu_Man/Elecbyte%27s_first_version earliest version]] of Kung Fu Man had less-refined graphics (especially [[{{Gonk}} his face]]) and only eight attacks -- a punch, a kick, crouching punch, crouching kick, aerial punch, aerial kick, Kung Fu Palm, and Triple Kung Fu Palm. His throw was bugged and caused him to do nothing, as it wasn't implemented yet.
* EvilCounterpart: He has many, but the most known is Most_Mysterious' Evil Kung Fu Man (which is revealed as a {{cyborg}}.)
* ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin:
** He's a man who does kung fu... even though some of his moves are closer to karate.
** His Triple Kung Fu Palm hyper involves him [[SuperSpecialMove using Kung Fu Palm thrice in succession]].
* {{Expy}}: Of {{martial arts movie}}s plot where a villain (usually an American one in oriental movies) kidnapped martial artist's girlfriend and so he goes to a RoaringRampageOfRescue.
* EXSpecialAttack: His Fast Kung Fu Palm, Fast Kung Fu Upper, Fast Kung Fu Blow, Fast Kung Fu Knee and Fast Kung Fu Zankou are faster, more damaging versions of his respective special attacks, but cost a third of an energy bar to use.
* EyesAlwaysShut
* FacePalm: His losing pose via Time Over.
* FinishingMove: Some versions of him has this, as [[Franchise/MortalKombat Fatalities]] in the version of Warner and [=Juano16=] and as [[VideoGame/ClayFighter Claytalities]] in the version of Basara-kun.
* FollowTheLeader: Probably the character with most edited versions ever, having since minor edits and gameplay changes to redesigns even in 3D, only reached by Kishio's [[UsefulNotes/McDonalds Donald]] and of course [[Franchise/StreetFighter Ryu]] and [[VideoGame/TheKingOfFighters Kyo Kusanagi]].
* SecretArt: According to one of his 1.0 version's winquotes, it's his Kung Fu Palm attack. Notably, even the [[EarlyInstallmentWeirdness earliest version]] of him had this move:
-->"Your moves are too predictable. You want to learn Kung Fu Palm? It's not for novices."
* SeriesMascot: The closest thing to a main character MUGEN has, as he comes with most editions of the game and is intentionally designed to be easy to pick up and play/edit.
* SNKBoss: An AI patch by Ironcommando makes him into one while ''averting'' SecretAIMoves and TheComputerIsACheatingBastard.
* SuddenlyVoiced: His original version doesn't have voiced dialogue. Sennou-Room and [=DivineWolf=]'s edits gives him vocal lines.
* SuperSpecialMove: Triple Kung Fu Palm involves him [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin using Kung Fu Palm thrice]], and Smash Kung Fu Upper has him perform a ''much'' more powerful Kung Fu Upper that sends the opponent flying ''very'' high, to the point where they [[NotTheFallThatKillsYou take damage upon hitting the ground]].
* UpdatedRerelease: A 1.0 version of KFM was released with MUGEN 1.0. Aside from having some better graphics, he also got a new special move (Kung Fu Zankou) and a new defensive technique (Kung Fu Block).
* TheVoiceless:
** KFM is never shown talking as a character, only grunting. However, he does have victory quotes on the results screen.
** Averted with Sennou-Room and [=DivineWolf=]'s edits, which have voiced dialogue.
** In part also averted with Basara-kun's KFM [[VideoGame/ClayFighter 63⅓]], which added more grunts to the character.
* YourPrincessIsInAnotherCastle: A literal example. In his ending, after defeating his clone, he realized that [[BreakingTheFourthWall Elecbyte didn't create Suave Dude yet]] nor his girlfriend.
-->''Don't cry, Kung Fu Man. Maybe you'll get a chance next time...''

[[caption-width-right:120:The portrait that S.Y.D.'s Another Kung Fu Girl Z uses]]

The female equivalent to the original Kung Fu Man (not related or connected to him in any way). She may seem like a carbon copy of him, but she is ''much'' more in depth than what she appears to be. And while she borrows quite a few moves from Kung Fu Man, this quickly escalates into a wide array of other moves unique to herself. She herself has been remade into various different characters as well, with the most well known version of her made by S.Y.D. (Another Kung Fu Girl ''Z'').
----
* AgeLift: While the original version of her is 16, [[AllThereInTheManual according to her character trait identifiers in her files,]] Divine Wolf's version is a young adult.
* AlwaysAccurateAttack: One of her Supers ''fills the entire screen'', forcing you to block or pay hell for it.
* AffectionateParody: Her story starts off with a {{Homage}} to the original Kung Fu Man's story and it contains an ''Anime/DragonBallZ''-esque episode start.
* ApologeticAttacker: She may show some concern over her fallen opponent should she defeat them. Given how freakishly powerful she is, one would think she might've feared she overdid it.
* ArrogantKungFuGuy: One of the main differences between her and KFM. You'd think she'd be innocent and gentle but nope; she is described to be impatient and competitive, and though cheerful she's shown to be pretty cocky and even condescending at times (she also doesn't take too kindly to the man himself in her most recent incarnation).
* BadassAdorable: She's powerful enough to take down ''Final Form Frieza'' with a single Kamehameha near the end of her story with little effort, and seriously; ''look at her''.
* BeautyIsNeverTarnished: Subverted. She has a losing portrait that shows her really bloody and bruised in several places, [[{{Squick}} including her breasts]].
* BlankWhiteEyes: Her reaction to going up against [[MirrorMatch herself]], [[EyeTake staring at herself for a good minute]] before she snaps herself out of it.
* BoisterousBruiser: As mentioned above, she's shown to be impatient and competitive, and a litle cocky.
* BreastExpansion: Downplayed, but her [[Manga/FistOfTheNorthStar Hokuto Hyakuretsu Ken]] attack has her breasts grow large enough to burst through her clothing- Thankfully, they're censored [[GagCensor (by chibi Kung Fu Girl faces, no less)]].
* BrokenPedestal: [[WomanScorned She didn't take too kindly to what Kung Fu Man told her]] and shows some hostility toward him whenever they meet again. Thankfully she gets out of it by the end of her story.
* BroughtDownToBadass: Divine Wolf's version nerfed her considerably, removing her stretching arms, her FlashStep and her ghost-summon projectile, essentialy turning her into a BadassNormal, but a pretty solid and fun chracter nonetheless.
* TheCameo: Manga/{{Doraemon}} shows up in her story.
* ClothingDamage: Certain moves used against her or moves that do her in will do this to her. Her ultimate move also does this to her just like its source material (go to the OneHitKill or ShoutOut entries below to see what it is). She runs off covering herself afterwards.
* CombatPragmatist: While she'll avoid trying to cause any serious damage she'll knock anyone upside their head and to the ground if necessary (and she'll try to be a little nicer about it if it's Kung Fu Man).
* CosplayOtakuGirl: One of her victory animations has her throw off her kung fu gi only to be shown wearing something else underneath it. This can vary including from a simple schoolgirl uniform to succubus getup.
* {{Fangirl}}: One that's hopelessly in love with Kung Fu Man.
* FlashStep: She can do this ranging from travelling short distances to further distances and from moving forward to moving backward. She's immune to all damage while in the state.
* GenkiGirl: Cheerful and competitive, although a little cocky at times.
* HarshWordImpact: On the receiving end of several, courtesy of Kung Fu Man. The result is her running away in tears very much like a spurned lover.
* KamehameHadoken: Her projectile attack has her summon [[OurGhostsAreDifferent chibi Kung Fu Ghosts that look like her and are very expressive]]. If the light versions were conjured from the ground they travel in a straight line but the heavy versions vary on the ground (moving forward while bobbing up and down) and in the air (travel downward). The EX versions are also different if done on the ground or the air;:the ground version is ''actually the weakest variation'' but it travels in a straight line ridiculously fast and hits multiple times, serving as the perfect pressure tool; the airborne version does more damage than the other variations but only if all hits get in as the ghost is stationary. [[UpdatedRerelease Her recent 1.0 re-release]] gave her access to the first part of the trope's namesake, capable of being fired straight ahead on the ground or in the air.
* KidHero: Embarks on her adventure at the age of 16. Averted with Divine Wolf's version, who, according to her character trait identifiers, is a young adult.
* LetsGetDangerous: A very subtle example: her idle stance changes into a more serious expression with a slightly different body positioning when she enters her SuperMode.
* MeaningfulName: S.Y.D.'s more recent updates of Kung Fu Girl have the letter "Z" in their name. For all intents and purposes she is a ''Dragon Ball '''Z''''' character power-wise with a few abilities modelled after a M.U.G.E.N character. She even has her name as part of her arcade story's introduction spoof of said series.
* MsFanservice: Oh most definitely. Her measurements? Bust = 90, Waist = 56, and Hips = 87.
* {{Nerf}}: A minor one that was done to her by S.Y.D was the A.I. transition from Johnny Bravo's incarnation of her to the current one. Another one was the lack of being able to infinitely perform air dashes, limited to just two per airtime. Divine Wolf's edit of her nerfed her drastically but she's still a solid character either way (although this ''did'' make her even more similar to Kung Fu Man as most of the things Divine Wolf removed were unique to her in addition to toning down the moves he didn't get rid of).
* NotGoodWithRejection: She has the hots for Kung Fu Man, but whatever it is that he said to her in the beginning of her story (it's all in Japanese by the way), she did not take it well. Shame for her that he's already got a girlfriend...
* OneHitKill: She has the (in)famous '''''[[RapidFireFisticuffs Hokuto Hyakuretsu Ken]]''''' technique, and it is rightfully her most powerful attack.
* RubberMan: She's shown to be able to stretch her arms across long distances, resulting in the special move "Kung Fu Whip" and "[[RapidFireFisticuffs Kung Fu Beat]]". This is just ''one'' of the drastic differences between her and Kung Fu Man.
* SecretArt: [[GuideDangIt The moveset pictures give no indication that she has the move]], and given how infrequent a computer-controlled akfgz will use the move, most players would never know.
* ShadowArchetype: She's a female to contrast with the original Kung Fu Man, and while she isn't evil-aligned as far as anyone knows she's far from being completely nice or gentle. She does try not to hurt anyone ''severely'' if that's worth anything but don't think she'll hold back much if she wants to take someone down. She also possesses powerful superhuman abilities where the original Kung Fu Man seems barely superhuman at best.
* ShapedLikeItself: She's a girl who practices kung fu...even though ''so'' many of her moves are otherwise. She's also a practitioner of yoga and another style named after the Greek letter "alpha".
%%* {{Shotoclone}}: Clearly of Kung Fu Man, though she is far from a simple knock-off.
* ShoutOut: She contains numerous Music/{{Vocaloid}}, WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic, and Anime/PuellaMagiMadokaMagica palettes. And as mentioned above she has the Hokuto Hyakuretsu Ken technique, used by Kenshiro of ''Manga/FistOfTheNorthStar'' fame. Another Super Move of hers has Bruce Lee's famous "One-Inch Punch" as a finishing move.
* SNKBoss: ''The'' biggest, undisputed difference between her and KFM because of her A.I. She has ridiculous range with her wide variety of moves (including some of her normal attacks) and among some of those moves are those that hit freakishly hard (most of them being her supers). And if that's not enough she has a ''five bar super gauge'' and EX special move capacity.
* SuperDeformed: She will change into such whenever characters who have curses hit her with such a move. Her chibi ghosts also look like they're this to her.
* SuperMode: Her 7th through 12th palettes (i.e. Holding the Start button while choosing a palette) empower her already solid moves further and every attack is covered in a pink trail of pink colored ki giving her attacks further range. And she doesn't just conjure up ''one'' Kung Fu Ghost, she conjures up ''two''.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Eel sauce rice.
* UnsportsmanlikeGloating: She indulges in this at times.
* WomanScorned: She has shown to be NotGoodWithRejection and didn't take well what Kung Fu Man told her, although she gets better by the end of her story. Divine Wolf' version changes this, where they have a sensei-student relationship, and Kung Fu Girl deeply respects him.

!!Dragon Claw
-->''Created and sprited by Reuben Kee''
[[quoteright:120:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tvtdragonc_239.png]]
[[caption-width-right:120:[[TheSpeechless "........."]]]]

A divine warrior made to combat evil with powerful blades, pyromancy and acrobatic skills. Dragon Claw was sprited, conceived and coded entirely by the late legendary Singaporean creator Reuben Kee, famous for having created the original evil shoto edits and making an evil form of [[Franchise/StreetFighter Ken Masters]] playable before SNK vs Capcom Chaos. He remains popular even today for the obscene amounts of effort and love put into the character by its creator, as well as just looking damn cool and having a rewarding combo system. His basic design is based on Katana from VideoGame/OneMustFall, but the sprite itself is an original creation.

----
* BadassBack: One of his winposes.
* BladeBelowTheShoulder: Both of his "hands" are v-shaped blade-things.
* BulletTime: A few of his attacks induce this for extra awesomeness.
* {{Combos}}: Notable in the fact that he can combo {{Limit Break}}s together!
* CounterAttack: Hit him when he's performing Counter Blow and he'll avoid damage while hitting you instead.
* DifficultButAwesome: His AI makes it look so easy, but in reality Dragon Claw requires significant practice to play effectively. His combo system is quite intricate and his cancels aren't as loose as they appear.
* DigitizedSprites: From 3D to 2D.
* DualWielding
* FlashStep: A few of his moves invoke this.
* {{Flight}}: He can sort-of propel himself through the air during Homing Flight, Sun Blast, Heaven's Sword, and the super variant of Flash Burst.
* {{Leitmotif}}: Composed by the creator himself, who was also a skilled pianist.
* LightningBruiser: Moves quickly yet gracefully. While his attacks aren't exactly ''that'' damaging, he can perform them in long quick combos to rack up tons of damage.
* LimitBreak: His {{Limit Break}}s have a LimitBreak of their own, where there's a 10% chance that a different, much stronger variant (Meta Super Special Move) is pulled off. This can also be triggered by chaining three {{Limit Break}}s together- the last one will ''always'' be an MSSM.
* NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast
* PlayingWithFire
* SNKBoss: His AI knows how to read commands and counter projectiles, as well as pull off his combo attacks with great ease.
* SuperMode: He can summon a Flame Wisp that aids him whenever he attacks, allowing him to deal much higher damage.

!!Lord Ravenous
-->''Created by EX Inferis, sprited by On.Off''
[[quoteright:120:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tvtravenous_1947.png]]

Initially an edit of Freeman from ''VideoGame/GarouMarkOfTheWolves'', Ravenous was re-sprited entirely by On.Off and given a new moveset. Lord Ravenous is an ObviouslyEvil man with long red hair in a black sleeveless coat wielding an axe and a revolver. He seems able to transform his body into grotesque shapes in several moves. Unfortunately, the character itself is very old and poorly programmed, but still has a significant following just because his concept and moves are well thought out and cool to look at. The character was eventually remade by [=TheFclass97=].

----
* BadassLongcoat: In On.Off version.
* BloodierAndGorier
* EvilRedhead[=/=]FieryRedhead
* EvilWearsBlack: Mostly seen in original version.
* {{Gorn}}: Ravenous even has [[Franchise/MortalKombat Fatalities]].
* HumanoidAbomination
* NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast
* NoShirtLongJacket: In On.Off version.
* ObviouslyEvil
* SignatureStyle: On.Off also is famous for create other original-sprited characters like ''Lucy Fernandez'' (coded by Fervicante) and the resprite of Kain The Supreme's ''Franchise/LupinIII''. He's actually working in a full game called ''[[http://mugenguild.com/forum/topics/trajes-fatais-161353.0.html Trajes Fatais]]''[[note]]"Fatal Clothes" in [[GratuitousForeignLanguage portuguese]][[/note]] (not for MUGEN) where [[IAmTheBand almost all the game is made by him]] just for fun.
* SNKBoss
* WalkingArmory

!!Ella, Ubu, Kuando and Giano
-->''Created and sprited by Aiduzzi''
[[quoteright:240:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tvtaiduzzi_737.png]]

Four crazy, over the top hard hitters conceptualized and sprited entirely from scratch by Italian artist and programmed Aiduzzi. Ella is a StringyHairedGhostGirl and homage to various horror films, while the other three are a bit more...hard to pin down. Ubu is an old man who shoots fire from his fingers, Kuando is a crazy loudmouth brawler, and Giano is another old man with very strange, unpredictable attack animations. [[http://www.eventhubs.com/news/2016/may/04/there-are-no-good-guys-upcoming-2d-fighter-just-villains-gore-and-mayhem-rotten-core-looks-it-has-potential-be-amazing/ The would later appear in their own fighting game, ''Rotten Core''.]]

----
* AllLoveIsUnrequited: Perro has an unrequited crush on Ella.
* AllThereInTheManual: [[https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/rotten-core-a-bizarre-old-school-fighting-game-games-horror#/ They were given backstories in ''Rotten Core''.]]
** Ubu is an arsonist obsessed with blowing things up. His style is sloppy and he is prone to losing his train of thought, sometimes even falling asleep while he is standing. However he is still a versatile fighter. He uses his hands as guns and that's quite literal, as he can hit opponents either from close range with high explosive punches, or from long range with powerful cannon shots and bursts of "machine gun fire".
** Ella's mysterious origins are known only to Ubu. Her power is held inside the disturbing objects that she carries, most notably, her slimy, talking teddy bear known as 'Trauma'. Her fighting style is unpredictable, as these objects will burst forth from where they are hidden inside her body. Most notable of these hidden objects is Trauma himself, who is also heavily armed.
** Giano is Ubu's brother. Tortured by bipolar disorder and schizophrenia, he is prone to violent and unprovoked attacks, and is believed to be haunted by more than one-hundred entities. He looks old, but his punches are heavy. Giano's gameplay is focused on combos, and his moves involve launchers that devastate opponents, especially from close range.
** Kuando is a dirty street boxer with no empathy, who loves to make anyone he can suffer as much as possible. Though he is constantly dressed in a motorcycle outfit, as far as anyone can tell, he does not own a motorcycle. His unorthodox style uses 3 different stances to cover short, middle and long distances, and he is both versatile and deadly.
** The burly bald man in his underwear that appears in Ubu's winposes is named Perro.
* AxCrazy: Kuando for sure. Possibly the others as well.
* BareFistedMonk: Giano and Kuando don't have any weapons or special powers, they just beat the shit out of you.
* ChainsawGood: Ella utilizes a chainsaw in several moves.
* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness: Ubu was one of the first characters Aiduzzi sprited. As such, he has [[VideoGame/StreetFighterAlpha Gen's head atop Fei Long's body]] with [[VideoGame/TheKingOfFighters Yamazaki's pants]] as opposed to being custom sprited like his other characters.
* FanDisservice: Kuando seems to enjoy dressing up in "sexy" outfits before and after matches.
* ShoutOut: Ella is all over the place with these. She kills [[Franchise/SuperMarioBros Mario]] in an intro and Creator/AlfredHitchcock in another. One of her super moves is a reference to the classic ''Film/{{Psycho}}'' shower scene, complete with the soundtrack. Kuando attacks Paul Phoenix of ''VideoGame/{{Tekken}}'' fame in one introduction sequence.
* StringyHairedGhostGirl: Ella, with the obligatory ''Film/TheRing'' introduction sequence.

!!Bluestreak
-->''Created and sprited by Diepod, coded by Jesuszilla''
[[quoteright:120:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tvtbluestreak_9326.png]]
[[caption-width-right:120:"Here's some advice. If you want your kicks to look sexy, wear a hoodie!"]]

A relatively new and popular character, Bluestreak is a man with electricity based powers who can call upon the powers of a demonic gargoyle.

----
* {{Arrogant|KungFuGuy}}, {{Boisterous|Bruiser}}, [[LargeHam Hammy]], and SmugSuper: He is a dude playing superhero, [[GoodIsNotNice but he's]] [[JerkAss pretty jerkish]] [[GoodIsNotSoft and holds back bar nil in combat]]. He's also an all around ham. Here's some of his quotes that should give you a feel of who he is.
-->''"[[PreAssKickingOneLiner I'm gonna hurt more than just your feelings...]]"''
-->''"[[PrecisionFStrike Fuck your feelings]], [[ScrewTheIndexIHaveTropes I throw lightning]]!"''
--> ''"We need emotional content. [[DontThinkFeel Don't think! Feel.]]"''
--> ''"[[NoIndoorVoice VIDEOGAMESGETATMEDOG!]]"''
--> ''"[[BreakingTheFourthWall Player 1/2, DEFEATED!]]"''
* BondCreatures: Him and the Gargoyle have this relationship. This is why he is able to [[VoluntaryShapeshifting shapeshift]] to either assume the form of the Gargoyle (or allow it to take control and show through his own body for some time) or to have it attack alongside him whenever he wants.
* BerserkButton: '' '''"LIGHTNING IS NOT YELLOW!!"''' ''
* CanonImmigrant: Not to M.U.G.E.N, but to his creator's original comic project ''"White Eyes"''. Bluestreak debuted in M.U.G.E.N long before he'll get his comic debut proper.
* CompositeCharacter: He's a composite expy of a lot of characters.
* EasterEgg: In his [[LimitBreak Zeus Major]] while he's of normal stature you'll hear the [[Creator/{{Disney}} Goofy Holler]] should the second to last part of the move connect. It fits well with his hammier side.
* {{Expy}}: Between [[VideoGame/{{Darkstalkers}} Demitri Maximoff]], [[VideoGame/{{Tekken}} Kazuya Mishima]], [[VideoGame/MortalKombat9 Noob Saibot]], and [[Franchise/DCAnimatedUniverse Static Shock]]. Demitri was known for occasionally changing between his humanoid form and his true vampire form in combat [[VoluntaryShapeshifting whether attacking]] or [[InvoluntaryShapeshifting being attacked]], Kazuya can [[SuperpoweredEvilSide completely assume the form of Devil]], [[LivingShadow Saibot could attack independently]] of Noob, and Static Shock was a black male with access to [[ShockAndAwe electricity-based powers]]. Bluestreak and the gargoyle fit all of these descriptions to the letter.
* HeroicSelfDeprecation: You'll never see it in M.U.G.E.N itself, but he has his doubts at living up to the superhero he's striving to be.
* IKnowMortalKombat: Incorporates Tekken juggles and the (Goddamned) [[Franchise/StreetFighter Tatsumaki]] into his moveset, with his own twist on each.
* InTheHood: [[LampshadeHanging He lampshades it too]] with his picture's caption quote.
* InkSuitActor: Is voiced by his creator. Might or might not have been based on him appearance and/or personality wise.
* MagicPants: After he leaves full Gargoyle, he somehow has his pants back on again.
* PhlebotinumRebel: He and the other four involved in the super soldier project eventually cut themselves loose from their experimenters and trashed the lab before going on to go live their lives.
* ProphetEyes
* ScaryBlackMan: He gets {{visual pun}} bonus points for this trope by being able to transform into a monstrous gargoyle who's skin is pitch black. He's slightly less so while {{super deformed}}.
* ShapeshiftingExcludesClothing: When he goes full Gargoyle, he's not wearing pants.
* SitcomArchNemesis: "Hey [[VideoGame/TheKingOfFighters Rugal]]...eat a dick!"
* SuperDeformed: An alternate such version of him sprited by Balthazar (spriter and co-founder of Team Z2) exists. His voice is pitched higher than the original's and he's ''incredibly'' short, and some of his moves are either different from the original's or the same but adjusted to the new size.
* SuperSoldier: Was unwittingly and unwillingly selected to be part of an experiment to create super soldiers many years ago as a preteen child along with four other classmates after a bus crash.

!!Tetsu Yatogi
-->''Created by XCB (Big Eli King)''
[[quoteright:120:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tvttetsu_3874.png]]
[[caption-width-right:120:"Life is full of disappointments, and you're definitely one of them pal!"]]

Formerly from an extremely obscure Japanese game ([[VideoGame/KakugeYaro Fighting Game Creator]]), he was taken by the aforementioned author and revamped into a completely different character for MUGEN and is well liked to this day.

----
* ArrogantKungFuGuy: He very much thinks highly of himself. To quote:
--> ''"It's not that you're a bad fighter, it's just that I'm too damn good!"''
* CombatPragmatist: He has an unblockable move for one, an attack called "Heart Attack" with is an electric, doubled handed thrust to an opponent's chest, and will have no problems electrocuting someone while he's [[NeckLift strangling them by their neck]].
* DarkAndTroubledPast[=/=]FreudianExcuse: See TheSyndicate below for some of the other details concerning this. [[TokenMinority Him being a Japanese born and raised in America did him no favors when he went looking for help from the native Japanese]] (except for the soon-to-be-murdered friend of his father). It's one of the reasons he's such a huge ass to everyone he meets.
* {{Expy}}: [[{{Shotoclone}} Formerly of Ryu to a painful extent]]. He still is, but he's far from a simple knockoff at this point to really count. He and his father also partially count as expies to Scorpion with similar backstories and professions with revenge (in Tetsu's case) being their primary motivation for their actions. The copied moves below are...
** [[KamehameHadoken Tetsu Spark, Tetsu Blast/Meteor]]
** [[{{Shoryuken}} Tetsu Upper, Tetsu Storm]]
** [[HurricaneKick Tetsu Tornado, Tetsu Typhoon]]
** [[DivingKick Shadow Dive, Dance of Heaven]]
** [[SpinAttack Crescent Slice]]
* FlashStep: Utilizes this for Assassin Streak - letting him go straight through attacks, and Shadow Strike - a dashing elbow strike that allows for follow-ups. He also does this for catching up to an opponent that left him offscreen and for one of his victory animations.
* GoldenSuperMode: His last palette gives him this look with some boosts to go with it.
* GoodIsNotNice: He's an asshole who will kick people's teeth in if he has to but he's not enough of this to be a villain, and while he's out to get undoubtedly nasty people he's motivated almost solely by revenge like Scorpion.
* GoodIsNotSoft: He's an asshole who will kick people's teeth in if he has to but he's not enough of this to be a villain, and while he's out to get undoubtedly nasty people he's motivated almost solely by revenge like Scorpion.
* KickChick: Male example; he's pretty kick happy and the more complex moves in his arsenal are either kicks or have kick-based follow-ups.
* LongLostRelative: He and his sister are this to each other. That missing sister is [[spoiler:Blaque, whose real name is Akane Yatogi]].
** SiblingRivalry:[[spoiler: Unknowing and unintentional on his part when it comes to Blaque.]]
* OlderThanTheyLook: Tetsu's a grown man who looks to be in his teens.[[spoiler: He's also Blaque's older twin brother despite looking younger than her.]]
* MirrorMatch: His response to one is to call it "[[Franchise/StarWars attack of the clones]]" but quickly notes that the other Tetsu didn't copy his skill.
* {{Ninja}}: He wears an all-black gi and he possesses high comboability and speed. He's also a professional killer as stated above, and to top it off he's [[{{Stereotype}} Japanese]]. If we didn't know any better we'd have thought him to be a ninja in plain view (''[[WildMassGuessing or is he?]]'').
* ProfessionalKiller: LikeFatherLikeSon and Like Brother Like Sister. He's not out to kill anybody who hadn't made his life Hell however.
** TurnOutLikeHisFather: This is what his old man tried to avoid when raising him but that failed.
* {{Revenge}}: He's out for the Scion Syndicate who killed his parents (real and adoptive) and kidnapped his sister, so he entered a tournament they held to get some answers.
* TheRival: To Blaque.
* ShockAndAwe: We're not even sure how he got these powers in the first place, but the assumption is that he's either always had them or gained them by training with his father figures.
* TheSyndicate: Tetsu's ultimate antagonist dudded the Scion Syndicate. His father is a [[RetiredBadass former assassin]] of the organization (not that Tetsu knows) [[ResignationsNotAccepted who was terminated by them alongside his wife]], his younger sister was kidnapped by them[[spoiler: and conditioned with the goal of becoming their perfect weapon]], his adoptive caretaker who knew his father took him in [[AndYourLittleDogToo only to get taken out by the same organization]], and they're clearly out for him by sending Blaque[[spoiler: (his aforementioned sister that he's unaware is his very rival)]] to spy on him and kill him if necessary.
* TruthInTelevision: The aforementioned ostracization by native Japanese that Tetsu went through? Very much true.
* UnblockableAttack: His Demon Upper is like a grounded version of his Tetsu Upper that's much more telegraphed but hits really damn hard.
* WeakButSkilled: Is flat out described as this in his readme; he can't pull off extremely powerful attacks right off the bat, but he CAN pull off a long stringed combo and he has a mindgame-ish moveset that makes him so dangerous.
* WillfullyWeak: He implies that he's not actually trying when he fights, though this could just be more of him {{trash talk}}ing.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: A character named Travis is mentioned in Tetsu's backstory. No future mention is made of him in either his or Blaque's backstories.

!!Blaque [[spoiler:(Akane Yatogi)]]

A character who is similar to Tetsu Yatogi above her. She's more of a GameBreaker compared to him but is still an interesting character.

----
* {{ColorCoded|ForYourConvenience}} [[ColourfulThemeNaming Theme Naming]]: Blaque, alongside fellow assassins Grey and Redd.
* DarkActionGirl: She's AffablyEvil for an assassin and even comes across as a HitmanWithAHeart at times.[[spoiler: AffablyEvil doesn't actually apply to her and she's really a straight-up {{action girl}} given her real motives.]]
* DarkAndTroubledPast:[[spoiler: Having her parents murdered at an early age and stolen from her only family left (who happens to be her current target Tetsu Yatogi), and being subjected to numerous experiments to become a perfect assassin. Also having Redd (her mother figure)) [[TakingTheBullet take the blow]] from Grey who meant to {{mercy kill}} a sleeping Blaque instead.]]
* DoubleEntendre: Loves throwing these out, and they're as blatant as you'd expect.
--> ''"I like being on top. It gives me more pleasure that way."''
--> ''"Done already? With a stamina like that, you'll never keep a girl satisfied..."''
--> ''"Sorry, little girl. You're not quite ready for the big leagues yet."''
* DragonWithAnAgenda: She's affiliated with the Scion Syndicate, but [[spoiler: she wants to free herself of their control and rekindle with Tetsu.]]
* {{Expy}}: Quite possibly one to M. Bison ability-wise. She's definitely one to Juri Han[[spoiler: backstory wise]].
* FlashStep: Just like with Tetsu she too has this technique. She's sometimes seen chasing after Tetsu in his own flash step victory animation provided that the two didn't fight.
* GlassCannon:[[spoiler: Thanks to the multitude of experiments performed on her,]]
* {{Hellfire}}: She even refers to her own powers as the "[[NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast Flames of Hell]]" and one of her moves is literally named after the trope.
* MsFanservice: Openly states her bust size with no shame ([[BuxomBeautyStandard a D cup to be exact]]) and has no problems with others ogling her, taking [[ProudBeauty pride in her attractiveness]]. She also throws out {{double entendre}}s, [[BigBreastPride teases smaller-sized females]], and ''almost'' goads others to touch her "there" (wherever "there" is). For the last one, she does warn them that they're not guaranteed to live afterwards.
* NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast: Her codename "Blaque" and her "Flames of Hell" powers do not cast a friendly picture for her.[[spoiler: Subverted with her real name seen above.]]
* {{Noble|Demon}} [[AntiVillain Anti Villainess]]: She's a villainous character but she's also sympathetic[[spoiler:. even more so when we find out who she really is]].
** {{Anti|Hero}} HeroAntagonist:[[spoiler: Her ultimate alignment.]]
* NoSell: She can utilize a vanishing move that makes her outright immune to projectiles.
* PhlebotinumBreakdown[=/=]SuperpowerMeltdown:[[spoiler: It's said that if it wasn't for her [[HoldingBackThePhlebotinum special suit]] she wears to regulate her body temperature, she would've [[SpontaneousHumanCombustion self-immolated]] from her own powers being too great.]]
* ProfessionalKiller:[[spoiler: [[LikeFatherLikeSon Like Father Like Daughter]] and Like Brother Like Sister.]]
* RedEyesTakeWarning:[[spoiler: The numerous experiments done to her have turned her eyes red.]]
* TheRival: To Tetsu.
** SiblingRivalry:[[spoiler: Unintentional on her part.]]
** [[spoiler: StealthMentor]]
* StalkerWithACrush: She comes across as this to Tetsu.
** StalkerWithoutACrush:[[spoiler: It's subverted considering that they're related.]]
* SuperMode: Two of them: one during gameplay and one in the backstory.
** GoldenSuperMode: Just like Tetsu she has this.
** SuperPoweredEvilSide: This form showed up exactly once but it is not present in gameplay itself, though the physical characteristics include a {{voice of the legion}} and {{WhiteHair|BlackHeart}}.[[spoiler: The aforementioned and failed {{mercy kill}} attempt above is what drew it out. The result was Grey ending up being {{deader than dead}} before he could explain himself. It hasn't resurfaced since thanks to Redd getting her back to normal in her dying moments by revealing her past to her. [[GoneHorriblyRight This form is exactly what the syndicate wanted though]].]]
* TheSyndicate: The organization she works for[[spoiler: as well as being her current and true enemy.]]
* TokenMinority: She's this to mainland Japan as she's a Japanese born and raised in America, also like Tetsu.[[spoiler: This no longer becomes a surprise once it's found out that they're blood siblings.]]
* TrapMaster: She can create (''multiple'') energy land mines for her opponents to walk onto and trigger an explosion of energy.
* WalkingSpoiler: Thanks to her backstory.
* YoungerThanTheyLook: She ''is'' 20 and looks like a grown woman but she's actually younger than the [[OlderThanTheyLook contrasting Tetsu]].[[spoiler: She's his younger sister.]]

[[quoteright:120:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tvtsuave_9366.png]]
[[caption-width-right:120:Image done by Masukenpu-kun]]

The villainous man who kidnapped Kung Fu Man's girlfriend. Who he is and what his motivations are are never really elaborated on, but he does carry a gun!

----
* ArchEnemy: Of Kung Fu Man.
* BigBad: He's the one who kidnapped Kung Fu Man's girlfriend and sent everyone else to stop him, setting up the plot for MUGEN as a whole.
* {{Foil}}: To Kung Fu Man. Besides their differing moralities, both of them have opposite fighting styles. While KFM focuses of using his fists and palms, Suave Dude uses his legs much more often, and his special move commands are similar to Kung Fu Man's except they use kicks instead of punches.
* TheGlassesComeOff: If you set a certain variable in his code to 1, he'll become unable to use any super moves in the first round. However, if he gets defeated once then, he takes his glasses off for the rest of the match and enables his super attacks.
* GunsAreWorthless: His intro has him ''throw away the gun in his hand'', and then he goes on to fight via melee attacks.
* PromotedToPlayable: He originally only appeared in Kung Fu Man's story mode as an NPC, but Masukenpu-kun made him a playable fighter.
* SinisterShades: He wears a pair of sunglasses, and kidnapped Kung Fu Man's girlfriend.
* SNKBoss: An AI patch by Ironcommando makes him into one while ''averting'' SecretAIMoves and TheComputerIsACheatingBastard.
* TheUnfought: For many years, until he was coded and re-sprited by Masukenpu-kun.

!!Reject 253

A different kind of {{Shotoclone}} that uses Ken's sprites from ''VideoGame/CapcomVsSNK2MarkOfTheMillennium''. Allegedly the character is meant to be an evil spirit possessing Ken's body. More likely, this explanation is a [[ExcusePlot cop-out to make up for the lack of custom sprites.]]

----
* DemonicPossession
* RedEyesTakeWarning
* ShoutOut: The character's moveset is largely based on Kairi from ''VideoGame/StreetFighterEX'', he even has the same voice clips.
* [[YouAreNumberSix You Are Number 253]]: The creator himself has stated that he has plans and ideas for more "Reject" characters based on the sprites of other fighting game characters.

!!Sula Crystal
-->''Created by Nao&M, voiced by Miyuki Matsushita'' (original) ''and Jessica Straus'' (English voice pack add-on, recycled clips from Juri in ''Super VideoGame/StreetFighterIV'')
[[quoteright:120:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tvtsula_9427.png]]

Years before it became a popular trend to re-sprite [[VideoGame/TheKingOfFighters Kula]] into original creators, Nao&M took her sprites and recycled the animations into a completely new moveset, in an example of low-budget creativity not unlike the aforementioned Reject. Instead of calling it an EX version, the creators instead re-christened their character and gave her a new personality and color scheme. To this day she is still a very popular character, being re-created several times and having a decent chunk of fan artwork.

----
* AxCrazy
* BareFistedMonk
* {{Cyborg}}: It's not official that Sula could be one, but various edits of her confirms it, not to mention she has similar standing pose than y.y's Robo-[[VideoGame/GarouMarkOfTheWolves Rock]].
* EnergyWeapon: Utilizes them inexplicably in one of her supers. [[spoiler:Unless this confirms Sula is actually a {{cyborg}}.]]
* RoseHairedSweetie: Not even a sweetie, but she has a pale rose hair.
* SlasherSmile

!!Detective Garret Laurel
-->''Created and sprited by Seanaltly''
[[quoteright:120:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tvtgarret_5681.png]]

A roughneck police detective, initially a part of the creator's fullgame, "SHADES of Manhattan" but became incredibly popular outside of the game for his distinct personality, rewarding gameplay and over the top voice acting. His popularity became so overwhelming that he showed up in one of the creator's other projects, ''Capcom vs. The World''.

----
* BadassNormal: Takes on [[VideoGame/MarvelVsCapcom superhumans]], [[VideoGame/TheBlackHeart the undead]], and more with nothing but his fists, a riot batton and his handgun.
* BadassLongcoat
* BreakoutCharacter / EnsembleDarkhorse: Undoubtedly the most popular SHADES character.
* CowboyCop
* DolledUpInstallment: Another creator edited Det. Laurel to convert him into Commissioner Gordon from ''Franchise/{{Batman}}'' series.
* HardboiledDetective
* LargeHam: STOP RESISTING!
* RevolversAreJustBetter: Carries a [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taurus_Judge Taurus Judge]] revolver as his sidearm, which allows the player to switch between using bullets and shotshells at any time.
* ShoutOut: [[spoiler: To ''Series/CSIMiami'' in his "perfect" win pose. [[MemeticMutation YEAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!]]]]

!!Elque
-->''Created by yuki, modified by Tropers/{{Ziggerfreud}} and Tropers/{{Ironcommando}}''
[[quoteright:120:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tvtelque_2880.png]]

A dark demon that originally appeared in the adult visual novel ''Kizuato'' represented using [[VideoGame/GuiltyGear Eddie's]] sprites. He attacks mainly by slashing the enemy with his claws, and he is ''insanely'' fast. Was especially infamous for his cheapness, so much so that multiple people made nerfed versions of him.

----
* AlwaysAccurateAttack: The original version's "Our Yoke" super. It's a fullscreen move that launches a lightning storm and if you don't block it, it could possibly shred off '''80%''' of your health if you're really unlucky.
* AlwaysChaoticEvil: Should its health be low enough, it will even attack its partner during victory animations.
* BladeSpam: Besides Devil's Claw, his Unsealing the Devil's Gate super also makes use of this. The modified version also has a FinishingMove where he ''[[ThereIsNoKillLikeOverkill does this until the opponent explodes into blood]]''.
* CastingAShadow
* CastFromHitPoints: The modified version can enter a mode that makes him use his health to fuel his supers. In this mode, his OneHitKill becomes a DeathOrGloryAttack that sets his HPToOne, ensuring that he'll be finished shortly if it doesn't kill his foe.
* DarkIsEvil
* DeathOfAThousandCuts: One of Elque's claims to infamy was his ability to "corner rape" a guarding opponent with Devil's Claw, slowly chipping his opponent's health away since they can't fight back due to hitstun. The modified version depends on this to win as its attacks deal rather low damage per hit.
* ElementalPunch: Devil's Claw is a claw attack extended by the power of darkness, giving it a longer range.
* ExtremityExtremist: Has no kicking moves at all, using claw swipes for all regular attacks and some specials.
* FinishingMove: The modified version can go into a Finisher mode when the opponent is at low health, allowing him to use his OneHitKill without using any power. Most of his specials trigger a "fatality" move of the sorts if they KO the opponent.
** BeatStillMyHeart[=/=]AndShowItToYou: Finishing the foe with Raging Charge follows up with Heart Rip, pinning the foe to the wall, ripping their heart out, then crushing it.
** DiagonalCut[=/=]HalfTheManHeUsedToBe: Finishing the foe with Crescent Razor follows up with Soul Slicer, which cuts the opponent into two diagonal halves.
** ThereIsNoKillLikeOverkill: Using Evil Claw to finish the foe results in Hell Rending, where Elque uses his claw SpamAttack so many times until the foe is ripped into nothingness.
%%* FragileSpeedster: The modified version isn't as quick or strong as the original, but it's still respectably fast.
* HandBlast: He can fire out blue beams from his hands.
* HealThyself: Both versions have a special move in which they can convert their power stocks into health to heal themselves, or do the opposite and convert their life into a power stock.
* InvisibilityCloak: Not exactly one, but the original version's "Nightfall!" turns the entire background black spare for a bright full moon when Elque's health goes below 30%. Since Elque is totally black, you won't be able to see him unless he's jumping in the moonlight.
* LightningBruiser: The original version has a walking speed twice as fast as the running speed of other characters, and deals insane damage to opponents. Its health and power stocks also regenerate automatically. This version is often considered to be a GameBreaker compared to non uber-cheap characters.
* {{Lunacy}}: What the original version's "Nightfall!" ability does. When his health falls below 30%, the moon appears and ''drastically'' accelerates his life and power stock regeneration.
* {{Nerf}}: The modified version.
* OneHitKill: Devil's Claw: Cipher Type.
* OurDemonsAreDifferent
* [[PillarOfLight Pillar Of Darkness]]: Devil Geyser.
* RazorWind: His cresent energy slashes.
* RedEyesTakeWarning
* RegeneratingHealth: The original version has this, and it regenerates faster the more Elque has taken damage.
* RoarBeforeBeating: One of his intro poses.
* ShockAndAwe: Has an electrical thunderstorm as a LimitBreak. The modified version adds a thunderbolt move as a SpecialAttack.
* ShoutOut: The modified version has [[VideoGame/TheKingOfFighters Genocide Cutter]] as an attack, except much weaker.
** It also uses sounds from ''VideoGame/{{Left 4 Dead}}'s'' Hunter.
* SillinessSwitch: The modified version has an option to turn his roars to the dog from the Beggin' Strips's commercial saying "Bacon!".
* SNKBoss: The original version. It's ''extremely'' fast, automatically regenerates health and power (and it ''accelerates'' as his health goes down), has super moves that can cut off about 50-75% of your health, a OneHitKill, normal attacks that pack a punch, and can chip your health to zero with his Devil's Claw move. When his health goes below 30%, "Nightfall!" activates, turning the stage pitch-black, making it harder for a player to ''hit'' him.
* SpamAttack: Has this in his Devil's Claw move. The original version can simply KO a guarding opponent via chip damage by cornering them and repeatedly using this move over and over.
* SuperDeformed: Papitto created a miniature version called Tibi Elque, which features some new moves.
* SuperSpeed: The original version.
* [[UnwinnableJokeGame Unwinnable Joke AI]]: [[spoiler: The modified version has an "unbeatable" mode if you set its AI level to [[NumberOfTheBeast 666]].]]
** InstantWinCondition: Any attack in this mode will destroy anything short of an "uber-cheap" character.
** NoSell: Can't be hit by attacks at all.
** WaveMotionGun: Gains a OneHitKill [[MemeticMutation Shoop Da Whoop]].

!!Eric - Unperfect Shotoklone

[[caption-width-right:163:"You must defeat... bah, I forgot the name of the guy."[[note]]A spoof of Ryu's iconic winphrase.[[/note]]]]

A guy who loves street fighting and makes his own journey to be the best just by improvising moves that learned from other fighters. The first [[OriginalGeneration original creation]] of his creator (which also made the voices), Eric is one of his most famous creations and sometimes he [[FountainOfExpies uses Eric as base for various of his characters]].

----
* AffectionateParody: Of {{Shotoclone}}s in general, especially [[Characters/StreetFighterI the original ones]].
** TakeThat: Eric's EvilCounterpart ''Loud Demon'' works more as this for Evil Shotoclones.
* AllergicToRoutine: According to [[AllThereInTheManual his story in character's readme]], after deciding to be a karateka, Eric took a class on Shotokan Karate, but he retired because it was too boring for him, [[BoringButPractical but it was useful in the end]].
* AwesomenessByAnalysis: Eric can learns quickly a technique just to see (and being hitted by) it. Most of his moves comes from other fighters he fought.
* BlowYouAway: Eric's ''Turbo Punch'', which makes a ball of wind on his hand that it's used to attack as well deflect powers and has a super version that is a horizontal column of wind. The normal one is an expy of [[Videogame/StreetFighterIII Dudley]] and the super one is from [[VideoGame/FatalFury Rick Strowd]].
* CharacteristicClothingColors: His caracteristic cyan karategi, a ShoutOut of [[Characters/StreetFighterAlpha Dan Hibiki's pink karategi]].
* DemotedToExtra: Typical {{shotoclone}} moves ([[EnergyBall Hadoken]], {{Shoryuken}} and HurricaneKick) are demoted to command moves instead as special[=/=]super moves.
* {{Expy}}: Of a lot of characters from Creator/{{Capcom}} and even Creator/{{SNK}}. Not to mention the character was made using [[VideoGame/StreetFighterAlpha Alpha]]'s {{shotoclone}}s and [[Characters/FinalFight Cody Travers]]' head.
* EvilCounterpart: ''Loud Demon'', an "evil" version of Eric, which is just Eric as a dark-skinned blond with [[EvilWearsBlack black karategi]] and overpowered versions of his moves.
* FightingClown
* FollowTheLeader: Eric was a fan of street fighting since he was a child, especially of Ryu, the reason why he trained Karate.
* GuestFighter: [[SeriesMascot Kung Fu Man]] appears as Eric's AssistCharacter.
* HairOfGoldHeartOfGold: Yes, he's blonde, but he fits better as a JerkWithAHeartOfGold.
* HeroWorshipper: Of Ryu and Kung Fu Man.
* IdenticalStranger: Eric's portraits (big and small) were made by editing ''Videogame/StreetFighterAlpha 2'' portraits of [[Characters/StreetFighterI Ken Masters]] just by short his hair and change the colors of karategi and gloves.
* IKnowMortalKombat: Coming from a Capcom's character, Eric has moves from other companies' games, mostly from SNK's ''VideoGame/TheKingOfFighters''.
* InkSuitActor: Voiced by his creator, Basara-kun.
* LethalJokeCharacter: Eric's evil version called as ''Loud Demon'' as a spoof of Evil MUGEN {{Shotoclone}}s, released just for a day for 2010 AprilFoolsDay. Loud Demon became [[EnsembleDarkHorse so famous and requested in MUGEN forums]] that Basara-kun put him back online on 2014 with his new website [[UpdatedReRelease with a few improvement]].
* MegatonPunch: Eric's ''Turbo Punch'', which also can [[SpinToDeflectStuff negates projectiles]] and [[TookALevelInBadass has a super version]].
* MemeticMutation: A RealLife version. In the first years was thought that Eric was a CreatorCameo of his creator, which Basara-kun confirmed later that he's an [[OriginalGeneration OC]] and not a MUGEN version of himself (as he did years later in a Platform/NeoGeoPocket version).
* PowerCopying: Basically which makes him different from other MUGEN shotoclones, since Eric mimify the moves of the opponent he fought, no matter if he won or not.
** This comes literally as MegaManning since he also has ''Eric Buster'', an [[VideoGame/MegaManClassic imitation of Mega Man's Megabuster]], which also is chargeable into a more-powered version.
* RuleSixtyThree[=/=]GenderFlip: A bikini female version of Eric in the form of [[VideoGame/{{Darkstalkers}} Midnight Bliss]].
* {{Shoryuken}}: ''Eric Uppercut'', which is a ShoutOut of Sagat's ''Tiger Uppercut''.
* ShoutOut:
** Eric has a lot of moves from Creator/{{SNK}} fighters, mostly from ''VideoGame/TheKingOfFighters'' franchise.
** Also, Eric has a winning pose where he scares of seeing people from a side of the screen and escapes. These characters could be beautiful fighting women, [[BigBad a couple of bosses]] and even [[{{Mascot}} innocent mascots]]. All of them come from different games and [[TheCameo make cameos]] in different versions of the same winpose.
** And various of Eric's poses come from other fighters as imitation of them, impersonating [[Characters/TheKingOfFighters Kyo Kusanagi]], [[Characters/FatalFury Geese Howard]], [[Characters/FinalFight Guy]] and other famous fighters as well.
* WalkingTheEarth: Following the steps of [[Characters/StreetFighterI Ryu]], Eric travels to meet strong opponents and tests his skills.
* WhatTheHellIsThatAccent: According to his story, Eric comes from Chicago, but has a latino accent. This is mostly because his creator comes from UsefulNotes/{{Chile}}.

!!Ryuko
-->''Created by OGGY''
[[quoteright:120:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ryuko.png]]
[[caption-width-right:120:"Cafe de Ryuko presents one flaming hot fist and knuckle sandwich, extra crispy and no cheese! Enjoy!"]]

From the maker of some of the most powerfully made characters in M.U.G.E.N comes his pride and joy. She's a Japanese schoolgirl who may seem like your average human but she boasts serious hidden powers and even commands her own {{humongous mecha}}.
----
* {{Always Accurate|Attack}} and {{Unblockable|Attack}} MacrossMissileMassacre: Ryuko's mech fires missiles from the arms for "Misairu". No one can block or dodge it. Period.
* ArtShift: When using some super moves the screen will change into an anime like scene as Ryuko wails on her opponent.
* BadassBack: She has her back facing the screen in an Akuma-esque fashion before she turns to fight her opponent, complete with the obligitory breeze.
* {{BFS}}: She wields one when she pilots her Gundam, and it is almost as long as the mech is tall.
* BoisterousBruiser: ''Without question''.
* BloodKnight: Gets satisfaction out of a good match and laments when an opponent did poorly against her.
* DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything: Her Franchise/{{Gundam}} has a bust as per the norm, but Ryuko's hapens to have [[UnfortunateCharacterDesign green lights where the "nipples" should be]].
* DigitizedSprites: Similar to Dragon Claw above and "Brokken" (the kung fu man in his own Gundam-like mech), Ryuko's robot was made in 3D before being converted to 2D.
* ElementalPowers
** BlowYouAway: Her Hadou is a miniature tornado she flings her opponent's way.
** PlayingWithFire: Ikari features several ground punches - the last of which causes an eruption of fire. Ryuko then charges at her opponent with a burning {{megaton punch}}.
** ShockAndAwe: Her [=Hadou2=] attack resembles a plasma ball which stops on contact with anything but resumes movement afterward, only fizzing out after a certain amount of time. Raigeki is a ground punch that sends out a shockwave, and the first part of Ikari sends out electric currents after the first ground punch. While in her mech she can create a lightning bolt to toss at her opponent, and Voltekka and Koredre electrocute the grabbed opponent.
* FightingClown: She does have a number of authentic looking martial arts moves, but she mixes them in with absurdity (transforming into a {{humongous mecha}}, [[HurricaneKick kicking people by dancing the ballerina]]).
* HumongousMecha: Styled right after a Franchise/{{Gundam}} no less. For M.U.G.E.N though, the Gundam had to be scaled down in relation to other characters. In her normal state she can turn into one before unleashing {{rapid fire fisticuffs}} while moving forward.
* KamehameHadoken: Her super hadou will pass through any other projectile, ensuring that she'll win projectie wars with it if timed right.
* KickThemWhileTheyreDown: She attacks while she's getting up after getting knocked down, making sure this trope is subverted when she's one the recieving end.
* MegatonPunch: Her "Anime P" move is a single uppercut triggered if Ryuko grabs her opponent while dashing forward ala Shun Goku Satsu. A winquote of hers has her bragging that she punched her opponent so hard that they'll land in China at 12 a.m. a week from her fight.
* {{Muggle}}: Has the look of one, but she ''utterly {{defie|dtrope}}s this trope in the most nonsensical way''.
* MusclesAreMeaningless: The original version of her could go toe-to-toe with '''''RARE AKUMA'''''. While not as grossly overpowered in her second incarnation, she'll still hit harder than a semi made of bricks if given the chance.
* RocketPunch: As expected of someone who has access to a humongous mech.
* SheFu: She has plenty of graceful movements in her moveset but isn't shy when it comes to getting up close and personal.
* {{Shotoclone}}: Partially of the trope codifiers. She has three moves with the word "hadou" in their names (and only one doesn't have a quarter-circle motion), she has her own {{Shoryuken}} special and super, and her "Senpuu" move is an obvious play on the {{hurricane kick}} (functioning closer to Guy's rendition of the move).
* SNKBoss: The original versions made by OGGY are this ''in spades''. The first version is especially this considering that it can take on the likes of the aforementioned Rare Akuma with pretty even footing.
* TrashTalk: Zero-Sennin's incarnation gave her some win quotes that places her squarely into {{arrogant kung fu guy}} territory.
* WaveMotionGun: "Beam" is the lesser version of Saikuron, and both go across the entire screen.
* WrestlerInAllOfUs: She is strong enough to hoist someone up into the air and slam them back down. Her Voltekka super while piloting her mech is an electric piledriver too.

!!Eiji Shirow
-->''Created by Rikard and Orochi Dark Cloud''
[[quoteright:120:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/eiji.png]]

A son of the mafia, Eiji rejected his origins and walked away to find a life of his own, changing his last name. His rage makes him developed a hidden power: to produce flames from his own body. He became part of NESTS thanks to Igniz, which tricked him about bring to life his [[spoiler:supposely]] dead girlfriend (sort of, as the form of her clone) if he became one of his henchmen. Now, after know the truth [[spoiler:of Megumi being alive (not a clone) and experimenting with her]], Eiji goes against Igniz for a personal vendetta.

The first original character made by Rikard (coding) and Orochi Dark Cloud (spriting), which ended with [[FountainOfExpies more characters that became part of the same story]], included Megumi and her younger brother [[CreatorCameo Rikard]].
----
* ArchnemesisDad: Kazuya Kazeyama. He killed his mother and blamed Eiji for her death, lying that she died when she gave birth to him. This finally happens when Eiji heard a telephone conversation of Kazuya about his mother's death and finally knew the truth. Then face Kazuya, who were almost to kill him, but Eiji actived his hidden fire powers for first time. And he used properly [[KillItWithFire burning his father to the ashes]].
* BattleCouple: Eiji and Megumi Shinigami.
* CreatorCameo: Rikard himself, part of the story as Megumi's younger brother, first as part of InUniverse's Eiji story to be later developed as a separate character as Megumi herself.
* {{Expy}}: Of ''VideoGame/TheKingOfFighters'''s fire users (Kyo Kusanagi, Iori Yagami and K'), having powers very similar to them. Also, without the jacket, Eiji looks a lot like k9999.
* HotBlooded
* IconicOutfit: His green and black outfit with the dark green scarf, given by Megumi.
* IWillFindYou: Igniz, for convince him of being part of NESTS' henchmen [[spoiler:and for experiment with Megumi]].
* LoveMakesYouEvil: Eiji became one of Igniz's henchmen with the promise of create a clone of Megumi and so "reviving" his dead lover [[spoiler:without knowing Megumi was ''alive'' as a [[TestedOnHumans guinea pig for NESTS' experiments]]]].
* {{Mafia Prince|ss}}: His real name is Eiji Kazeyama, son of mafia lord Kazuya Kazeyama, a title he's not proud at all, so he changed his last name to live a normal life.
* PlayingWithFire
* RevengeBeforeReason: First against his father and later against Igniz, not to mention anyone vinculated to them, including friends, which converts Eiji in TheKillerInMe.
* ShoutOut: InUniverse. To hide his birth's last name (related with the mafia), he called himself as [[Creator/MasamuneShirow his favourite comic artist]].
** His father's name, [[VideoGame/{{Tekken}} Kazuya]], which also is his ArchnemesisDad and a mafia leader.
** Not to mention [[VideoGame/TheKingOfFighters Igniz and NESTS]] as part of Eiji's story.
* UpdatedRerelease: Mexican spriter [=NiO KuSaNaGi=] resprited Eiji with the permission of Rikard and released a separated SFF with new sprites more stylish than the original ones by Orochi Dark Cloud. Until now these sprites are the most preferred by the fans, even when [[KeepCirculatingTheTapes they're offline and hard to find on the net]].
** Recently [=NiO=] announced that [[http://mugenguild.com/forum/msg.2131773 he's making a new spritesheet for Eiji]], so a new SFF (or even a new coded version) for Eiji is on the works.

[[quoteright:127:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/maxinebig.png]]
[[caption-width-right:127:She's truly outrageous.]]

This character is notable for being the first commissioned Mugen character ever. She's super girly, unlike Borghi's more well-known characters in ''VideoGame/TheBlackHeart''.
----
* AssistCharacter: Her strongest Hyper Move has her summon David from "Renderotica" to beat up the opponent.
* ColorMotif: Definitely pink.
* EverythingsPreciousWithPuppies: Her ''Puppy Army'' Hyper Move sends, well, [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin a bunch of puppies to mow down her opponent.]] One of her win poses has her throwing a treat to a puppy and petting it.
* GirlyGirl
* {{Leitmotif}}: Her creator posted her [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=itrKv94-VFM Mugen video]] with the {{WesternAnimation/Jem}} Theme as the background music
* MakeSomeNoise: The ''Super Mic'' Hyper Move has Maxine scream into a microphone, emitting a sound blast from a giant speaker.
* MistakenIdentity: Not to be confused with Ryanide's Narayan Maxime, also just known as Maxime.
* ShoutOut: Of {{WesternAnimation/Jem}}, mostly for one of her palettes which changes her brown hair into pink, as well her ''Super Mic'' Hyper Move. Also, with a palette with blonde hair, maybe it's the closest to get a Franchise/{{Barbie}} in MUGEN.
* StatuesqueStunner
* SuperCuteSuperPowers: She's extremely feminine, with her Hyper Moves accentuating this with a pink background and sparkles.

[[caption-width-right:125:"[[ThatManIsDead Your brother is no more, his soul is mine now.]]"]]

A man who died and revived as a MadeOfEvil LivingShadow who wants to TakeOverTheWorld. Another [[OriginalGeneration original character]] made by Basara-kun first as an experiment but later having his own plot and related characters like "[=XXX2=]" (a {{Shotoclone}} who's a follower and [[TheDragon the second in charge]]) and "Blizzard" (AnIcePerson karateka which was big brother of the original persona before he died), all of them also made by Basara-kun.
----
* DoppelgangerAttack: XXX can summon shadow clones to attack the enemy for him.
* {{Expy}}: Of [[Franchise/MortalKombat Noob Saibot]] (and also a {{homage}}.) Also, he used [[VideoGame/RageOfTheDragons Jimmy]] sprites and even some of his moves, as well ''VideoGame/NeoGeoBattleColiseum''[='=]s [[VideoGame/TheKingOfFighters K']] voice.
* IAmLegion: XXX is known as the leader of other shadow fighters as seen in his poses and in [=XXX2=] ones. There's a woman ([[VideoGame/GarouMarkOfTheWolves B. Jenet]] with [[VideoGame/SNKVsCapcomSVCChaos Shiki]]'s voice) and a big guy ([[VideoGame/MarvelSuperHeroes Hulk]] with [[VideoGame/TheLastBlade Shigen]]'s voice) which are also part of this army, possibly a [=XXX3=] and [=XXX4=] if his creator decides to make both as separate characters instead just as [[TheCameo cameos]] they're now.
* {{Invisibility}}: The palette no.12 makes XXX invisible via coding, so only you can see the clones he releases but not him. Also this works if you played with his main palette (pitch black) in darker (or mostly black) stages.
* LivingShadow
* MadeOfEvil
* NoNameGiven: [[WordOfGod According to Basara-kun]], the name is because he doesn't have one after being converted into a shadow.
* NotWhatItLooksLike: The XXX name is not refered to Porn or something {{NSFW}}, and isn't after ''[[Film/XxX xXx]]'' either.
* TheRemake: Not being satisfied with the first version, Basara-kun remade completely XXX and the new version not just plays better and improve all the things first version had wrong, also included a completely different mode with new moves and one of them is a {{homage}} to Noob Saibot.
* {{Shotoclone}}: [=XXX2=] was made as this, with modified versions of these moves, a KamehameHadoken as a super and the ability of release shadow clones just as XXX. Also, used [[VideoGame/StreetFighterAlpha SFA]]'s Ken sprites as well some modified ones by The Dreamslayer (aka Just No Point), which were more known for being used on Reu's Evil Ken (and mistaken for older users as a unauthorized edit from this character and cleared by JNP himself.)
* ThatManIsDead: Once he was Blizzard's little brother. Now he was converted into shadows, that man doesn't exist anymore.
* VideogameDashing: XXX has an Air Dashing in a similar way than ''VideoGame/GuiltyGear'' characters.

A woman with a [[NonHumanHead beartrap for a head]], who has an arsenal of strange attacks.

----
* BreathWeapon: Her Chomp Fire special, where she fires a fireball from her mouth while Her hyper move Chomp Beam has her instead [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin fire a beam]].
* DetachmentCombat: She can remove her head and let it go towards the opponent. It also [[MadeOfExplodium explodes upon contact.]] Her Hyper variation instead releases a huge size version of her head.
* HartmanHips: She's got ''pretty'' wide hips.
* ManBitesMan: Having a beartrap for a head, some of her moves involve biting.
* MegatonPunch: Her Windup Punch if charged long enough.
* RubberWoman: Few of her moves involve resizing her limbs to attack. Her intro also has her drop down from the top screen with her arms stretched.
* {{Stripperific}}
* WhiteGloves: Wears them in her [[FingerlessHands fingerless hands.]]

A ''very'' deep-voiced stage actress with a set of skills in the art of acting.

----
* AffectionateParody: Of the PrincessClassic archetype. Her outfit appears to be based on [[Franchise/SuperMarioBros Princess Peach's]], her win pose is of her [[DisneyCreaturesOfTheFarce singing to call birds]], one of her throws is a BigDamnKiss, and can attack with [[MusicalAssassin songs as projectiles]].
* AmbiguousGender: [[AllThereInTheManual According to her character trait identifiers in her files,]] her gender's set as Unknown. Either they're a woman with a really [[VocalDissonance deep voice]], or they're a DragQueen.
* DanceBattler: One of her attacks revolves around spinning like a ballerina to kick the opponent.
* EverythingsBetterWithSparkles: One of her intros and some of her moves have her sparkling.
* KickingAssInAllHerFinery: Can fight even when wearing that weighty princess costume.
* PinkIsFeminine: Her main palette.
* FunnyAnimal: She's a dog person, more specifically, a poodle.
* ThePowerOfActing: To the point one of her Hypers has her reenact a scenario (Cook, Romance, Pirate, Geisha), complete with a curtain drop.
* VocalDissonance: Her voice clips consists of [[Franchise/TheLegendOfZelda Ganondorf's]] [[VideoGame/SuperSmashBrosMelee Melee]] voices, which is unfitting to her feminine appearance.

!! A-Bomb
-->''Created by Ironcommando''
[[quoteright:149:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/a_bomb_8.png]]

An atomic bomb that explodes.
----
* ActionBomb: Its only move consists of exploding. Despite this, it remains completely unharmed from its own explosion.
* AlwaysAccurateAttack: Its only attack hits the entire screen. It also cannot be blocked and is a OneHitKill.
* AnimateInanimateObject: A sentient atomic bomb that can move around, jump, and explode all by itself.
* DefeatingTheUndefeatable: Both ways:
** It was notably one of the first few characters capable of defeating the then-invulnerable Omega Tom Hanks by turning his helpers against him via a reversal.
** Despite it being widely touted as completely invincible, several characters managed to find a method to kill it, using a modification of its own code. This ended A-Bomb's reign as the most overpowered character ever.
* ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin: It's an atomic bomb that explodes.
* HairTriggerExplosive: If it gets hit or even lands on the ground from a jump, it explodes.
* LensmanArmsRace: It was initially created to end this by beating all other cheap characters at its time. Instead, it became infamous for having started one of these in the form of the cheapie wars.
* {{Minimalism}}: Noted for having only three sprites -- its icon, its portrait which doubles as its basic sprite, and its explosion sprite -- as well as two sounds, both used for its explosion.
* NighInvulnerable: Can't be beaten via conventional methods nor the F1 button.
* NoBodyLeftBehind: Anyone unfortunate enough to be destroyed by it generally tends to be completely disintegrated.
* NukeEm: It's a nuke whose one and only attack is to explode, destroying the enemy ''and'' also completely turning the background and foreground empty.
* OneHitKill: Its only attack cannot be blocked and sets the opponent's health to zero, if not doing damage way over the opponent's health.
* PurposelyOverpowered: Was created ''specifically'' to be the most overpowered MUGEN character of its time, even beyond the likes of Rare Akuma and Omega Tom Hanks. While others have managed to surpass it, it was considered the strongest MUGEN character at the time.
* SoLastSeason: A-Bomb was the most overpowered character back in its debut days, being able to defeat the likes of Omega Tom Hanks and Rare Akuma. Nowadays, there are several cheapies that outclass and effortlessly defeat it, and A-Bomb is considered a bottom-tier cheapie (the "Nuke" tier) and even within that it's on the lowest rung of the ladder, only above the 2nd Death Star.
* ThereIsNoKillLikeOverkill: This thing not only blew up the entire screen for a OneHitKill (and instant 999-hit combo), it also removed enemies and the background scenery completely upon a successful hit.
* ThreateningShark: Sports a shark face decal that is normally seen on missiles and other ordnance.
* UnblockableAttack: Its fullscreen explosion cannot be blocked in any way.
* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: Ironcommando himself considers the A-Bomb to be one, as its creation and eventual defeat played a part in instigating the "[[LensmanArmsRace cheapie wars]]" that led to increasingly-overpowered, file-edting characters, eventually culminating in the Dragon-Tier cheapies (computer viruses in the form of characters).

-->''Created by Fervicante and On.Off''
[[quoteright:114:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lucyfernandez.jpg]]

Lucy is the first character for both creators: the first OriginalGeneration character coded by Fervicante (all his other chars are females from diverse games) and the first sprited one by On.Off before making his versions of Ex-Inferis' Lord Ravenous and Kain the Supreme's Manga/LupinIII. A voluptuous Brazilian girl who uses moves that involve dance and grappling.
----
* DanceBattler
* IdenticalStranger: Her latino origin and her dancing moves could resemble new players to ''VideoGame/TheKingOfFighters XIV'''s Zarina.
* ImpossibleHourglassFigure
* MovesetClone: Downplayed. Not necessarily cloned, but her moves (and her sexyness) resembles Shermie from ''KOF'' series.
* MsFanservice
* RealWomenHaveCurves: A sexy and curvy girl, and she knows how to get profit of it.
* SpicyLatina
* VillainOfAnotherStory: Lucy will appear outside M.U.G.E.N as a [[SuccubiAndIncubi succubus]] in the indie game ''[[https://store.steampowered.com/app/953310/Trajes_Fatais_Suits_of_Fate/ Trajes Fatais]]'', in which On.Off is part of the development team.

!!Blizzard

[[quoteright:120:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/blizzard.gif]]
[[caption-width-right:120:"I told you. I said "I'm gonna freeze you" and I did it."]]
AnIcePerson karateka who's in search of his disappeared brother, Blizzard is the second character that comes from XXX's story, also using a Noise Factory sprite style, but this time is Reiji Oyama from ''[[VideoGame/PowerInstinct Matrimelee]]'', changing his palette, adding Soiree Meira's voice from ''[[Videogame/TheKingOfFighters KOF: Maximum Impact]]'' series and making him with the ElementalPowers of ice.
----
* AnIcePerson: As the name says, he's a character that use ice powers and can freeze the opponent.
* BlueMeansCold: His color motif is blue or variations of it (like his light cyan skin).
* ElementalPowers: All his powers comes from ice and freeze.
* FreezeRay: One of his supers is an icy ray that throw from one of his hands.
* IKnowYoureInThereSomewhereFight: His second main motivation after finding his brother is to save him from XXX. If he's really or [[ThatManIsDead he's gone]], it has to be seen.
* InNameOnly: This character shares name with the eponymous yeti god from ''VideoGame/PrimalRage'', but has nothing in commmon with him, excepting maybe the ice powers.
* IWillFindYou: His main motivation is to find his lost brother.
* PowerupFullColorChange: He's normally seen with light cyan skin, in one of his intro he appears with normal skin color, just to get a power-up before the battle that change his skin color, as well [[PowerDyesYourHair his hair]].
* RapidFireFisticuffs: His "Breeze Kicks" move is a quick kick that make other two-three more if connects and is able to be combined with other moves to make combos.
* TheRival: Eventually his own brother... or what it left of him in the form of XXX.
* {{Shotoclone}}: Blizzard uses some stereotypical attacks as a projectile (an spiked ice thrown forward), a {{Shoryuken}} and a SlideAttack.
* ShoutOut:
** Blizzard has some moves from other fighters, like the SlideAttack from [[Franchise/MortalKombat Sub-Zero]], the giant iceberg attack from [[VideoGame/SamuraiShodown Rimururu]] and the full-screen super from [[Videogame/TheKingOfFighters Kula Diamond]] (also one of his intros is based on her).
** The relationship between Blizzard and XXX as brothers, and having ice and shadow powers respectively, seems like Basara-kun's own version of [[Franchise/MortalKombat Kuai-Ling (Sub-Zero) and Bi-Han (Noob Saibot)]].

!!Isabeau
-->''Created by Ex-Inferis, remade by both smhungary89 and [=LunaTuna=]''
[[quoteright:120:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/isabeau.png]]

An early edit of [[Franchise/TheKingOfFighters Kula]] that predates the trend of using her sprites as a base, and a sort of companion character to Lord Ravenous. However, like Ravenous, she did not age particularly gracefully despite having a similar following - she was later remade by other authors.

----
* AmbidextrousSprite: Her eye scar gets flipped.
* AssistCharacter: She can summon [[ComicBook/{{Venom}} a Symbiote]] and [[VideoGame/TheLastBlade Mukuro]] to attack her opponent.
* BloodierAndGorier
* CameBackWrong[=/=]DemonicPossession: Presumably a demonic resurrection of [[Franchise/TheKingOfFighters Kula]], as her intros involve Kula herself either [[ImpaledWithExtremePrejudice impaled]] or [[CasualCrucifixion crucified]].
** DecompositeCharacter: [=LunaTuna=], prior to making a TruerToTheText remake of Isabeau, made a version of her called ''Isabeau Incarnate'' which removes the implications that she and Kula are one and the same.
* EvilRedhead[=/=]FieryRedhead
* EvilWearsBlack
* FinishingMove: Varies depending on which version of the character is used, but a constant is [[KillItWithFire burning her opponent to a crisp]].
* ObviouslyEvil
* PlayingWithFire: In contrast to the character she was edited from.
* SNKBoss: PerfectPlayAI? Check. Moves with high priority? Check. [[TurnsRed A second-round phase]] where she's covered in explosions, making it hard to hit her? [[RuleOfThree Check.]]
** Even moreso in smhungary89's version, in which she becomes a borderline "cheapie" when selected with higher palettes.
* VoiceOfTheLegion: Uses heavily edited voice clips from various other ''Franchise/TheKingOfFighters'' characters.
* WalkingArmory: Not to the extent of Ravenous mentioned above, but she can conjure guns and use them.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Significant Pop Culture Characters]]
!![[Franchise/SuperMarioBros Super Mario]]
-->''Created by [=ShinRyoga=] and [=NeOaNkH=]''
[[quoteright:120:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/supermariosrna.png]]
[[caption-width-right:120:Portrait sprited by [=ShinRyoga=]]]

The most iconic video game character of all time naturally made the jump to M.U.G.E.N fairly quickly. By far the most famous, definitive version of the moustachioed plumber was sprited by [=ShinRyoga=] and coded by [=NeOaNkH=] all the way back in 2001, and is still widely used, edited and beloved to this day. Sprited completely from scratch, this Mario has attack animations inspired by his ''VideoGame/SuperSmashBros'' self but his gameplay is more ''VideoGame/MarvelVsCapcom'' inspired, with long combos and aerial raves. Three of his alternate colour palettes function as specialised power-ups that change his abilities. Super Mario edits by other authors are so ridiculously abundant that it's not worth counting them all.

----
* AllJustADream: Similar to the ending of ''VideoGame/SuperMarioBros2'', his arcade ending reveals that his M.U.G.E.N adventure (and subsequent rampage) was all a bad dream.
* AwesomeButImpractical: The "Ghost Mario" alternate skin makes Mario completely intangible to attacks! The catch is, his health bar constantly depletes, forcing him to end fights quickly.
* BlessedWithSuck: His "Ghost Mario" skin is this, as he can't be hurt by any attack the opponent throws, but his health bar drains quickly.
** the "Stone Mario" while improving his defenses, reduces his movement significally, his fireballs don't move at all when performed and it doesn't allow him to perform his level 3 hypers, as his power level drains slowly, but making it impossible to use them.
* FragileSpeedster: The "Matrix Mario" alternate skin grants Mario increased speed at the cost of reduced damage, though he also has a TimeStandsStill ability.
* LightningBruiser: Regular Mario is very fast and possesses a powerful array of combos and supers to quickly drain the opponent's health bar.
* PlayingWithFire: Like in ''Smash Bros.'', he has a fireball as a standard projectile.
* {{Shoryuken}}: He has a very satisfying Super Jump Punch uppercut that bleeds coins out of the opponent with every hit.
* StoneWall: Literally with the "Stone Mario" alt skin that gives him increased defence at the cost of slower movement and increased weight.
* SuperpoweredEvilSide: One of his victory screens has him turn his back to the camera [[Franchise/StreetFighter Akuma-style]] as a frankly terrifying mural of a red-eyed, demented Mario fades in from behind, reflecting his storyline of slowly turning evil thanks to a spell cast on him by Kamek. This aspect was meant to parody the early M.U.G.E.N community's fascination with DarkerAndEdgier edits of established characters, namely Shoto-style characters.
* TimedMission: If you play in his "Ghost Mario" skin, Mario has to quickly defeat your opponent before his health bar reaches zero.

[[quoteright:120:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kishiodonaldport.png]]
[[caption-width-right:120:"Ran-Ran-ROO!"]]

Yes, Donald (not Ronald) in line with the JapaneseRanguage pronunciation. The clown mascot of [=McDonald's=] unexpectedly became an icon of M.U.G.E.N thanks to Kishio's artful conversion of the fast-food fiend into the fighting game engine. With some animations traced over sprites from ''VideoGame/GuiltyGear'' and ''VideoGame/JoJosBizarreAdventureHeritageForTheFuture'', Donald was one of the earliest high-quality joke characters to grace M.U.G.E.N, quickly spawning countless cheap edits, some reasonably iconic in their own right. Some speculate that he may have spawned ''the'' most edits of any M.U.G.E.N character.

----
* EdibleAmmunition: Donald, as the fast food {{mascot}} he is, throws hamburgers as projectiles, explosives apples as traps, big French fries as fighting sticks and even he splits the enemy inside a big hamburger a la [[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventureStardustCrusaders Dio's steamroller attack]].
* FightingClown: Literally.
* ImprobableWeaponUser: His kitchen of combat paraphernalia consists of "hambahgahs" and massive French fries.
* JapaneseRanguage: Owing to the fact that this version was authored by a Japanese person, he has many idiosyncrasies associated with Japan's marketing campaigns for [=McDonald's=], namely the fact that he's called "Donald [=McDonald=]" rather than Ronald, and his "ran-ran-ROO" catchphrase.
* MonsterClown: His animations taken from [[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventure Dio Brando]] make him appear savage and deranged.
* SerialEscalation: The bizarre arms race to create the cheapest Donald edit rapidly escalated until borderline hardware-breaking monstrocities started popping up.
* RedIsViolent: Even when his colors represents the fast food brand itself and the food, this trope applies well here.
* TheRival: As TruthInTelevision between [=McDonald's=] and UsefulNotes/KentuckyFriedChicken, Donald has a rival with the MUGEN version of Colonel Sanders, mostly the character made by Peg, who also has some ''Manga/{{JoJo|sBizarre Adventure}}'' references, food moves and a brutal AI. Some creators even made special intros between these characters.
%%* SNKBoss: The original version already has a brutal AI that makes him almost unbeatable. ZERO CONTEXT EXAMPLE

[[caption-width-right:120:great chicken]]

Created to fight against his competitor [=Ronald McDonald=], Colonel Sanders is almost as famous as the fast food clown in the M.U.G.E.N community, and much like Donald, he has been one of the most edited characters in the history of the engine. In terms of gameplay, the colonel has simpler gameplay than Donald's, however, and he may be a bit underpowered and have a few gameplay issues, he is featured with a brutal customized A.I.
----
* CaneFu: The Colonel is an expert in this art as he uses his cane to hurt his enemies.
* CoolOldGuy: He's portrayed as this.
* DeepFriedWhatever: He can fry his opponents by trapping them into a giant pressure fryer and in one of his winposes alongside some chicken surrounding his defeated opponent.
* EdibleAmmunition: Like his rival, the colonel uses his famous Kentucky fried chicken pieces in his special moves, invoking giant versions of his food in his specials attacks.
* EjectTheLoser: If the colonel loses twice, a trap door opens behind his body and the colonel falls into the darkness below.
* ImpliedDeathThreat: Gives one to Ronald in his special intro against him, as he effortlessly destroys a Ronald bust near him to prove the clown his point.
* TheRival: As TruthInTelevision between [=McDonald's=] and UsefulNotes/KentuckyFriedChicken, the Colonel has a rivalry with the MUGEN version of Donald [=McDonald=].
* SwordCane: His cane is this, as he uses it in a special intro to destroy a Donald statue and is one of his hyper specials.

A robot from the Superjail cartoon.

----
* BrickJoke: One BattleIntro involves giving a Superjail prisoner a DangerouslyCloseShave. When the prisoner notices what Jailbot has done to him, he flies up into the air with shock. If Jailbot wins Round 1, the prisoner returns and lands on the ground, StrippedToTheBone from the flames. Jailbot proceeds to clear up in time for the start of Round 2.
* DangerouslyCloseShave: He inflicts this to one prisoner in a BattleIntro before launching him to the sky. If Jailbot wins the first round when this specific intro is finished, [[BrickJoke the prisoner returns]] and crashes upon touching the ground, killing him for good.
* EdibleAmmunition: In one of his winposes, he gives the opponent one ice cream out of pity by launching it against them, knocking them out.
* ExtendableArms: Jailbots arms can be extended on his specials to reach more easily his opponents
* GoodOldRobot: In one of Jailbot's win animations, he plays classical music on an old music box until Nova overshadows him by playing techno music with lights, making Jailbot feel rejected.
* MirrorMatch: If Jailbot faces another Jailbot, a clip of Recap/SuperjailS2E1BestFriendsForever is played where the inmates of Superjail beats Jared after noticing the two Jailbots on the screen.
* PaletteSwap: Unlike other characters, Jailbot can change his color during a BattleIntro.
* RocketPoweredWeapon: Jailbot's superjump transforms him into a rocket that can deal damage to the opponent.
* OminousVisualGlitch: As Jailbot takes damage, his face starts to glitch out.
* SentryGun: He has one as a special hitting the opponent multiple times, and a taunt where he fake outs said attack.
* SuperSpecialMove:
** Bash n' Toss Heavy: Jailbot grabs the opponent and tosses them to the ground,twirling and launching them into the air
** Fan Blade Attack: Jailbot arms become fans which deal damage to the opponent.
** Arcade: Jailbot turns into an arcade who traps the opponent into two games.
* TrappedInTVLand: His Arcade hyper allows Jailbot to turn into an arcade cabinet and absorb his opponent into his insides to drain the opponent's life by playing shout-outs of pacman and pong. If the opponent survives pong, Jailbot releases them, but if the life bar reaches zero, it's game over.
* TransformingMecha: On his arcade hyper, Jailbot transforms into an arcade cabinet.

[[caption-width-right:140:Even harder to find than Very Uncommon Akuma.]]

A PurposelyOverpowered [[Franchise/StreetFighter Akuma]] edit designed to mock poorly designed "God" and "Orochi" edits in general.

----
* AchillesHeel: While otherwise a [[SNKBoss brutally overpowered]] [[TheJuggernaut Juggernaut]], Rare Akuma has no protection against characters with [[CounterAttack ReversalDef]] properties[[note]]which can cause damage to be reflected back at the attacker instead[[/note]] - trying to attack said characters will likely result in Rare Akuma going down instead.
* BeatingADeadPlayer: Exclusive to the AI version: sometimes the AI will continue to beat on a defeated opponent for a few seconds after the K.O. screen has popped up before doing a win pose.
* FusionDance: One pre-match intro has Ryu and Ken forcibly fuse together to form Rare Akuma.
* GroundPunch: One of his win poses has Rare Akuma punch the ground, cracking the Earth. This is a ShoutOut to the Megaton Punch minigame from ''VideoGame/KirbySuperStar''.
* HealThyself: Rare Akuma can resurrect himself with 50% health if his entire bar is drained and will instantly restore himself back to full health again if he gets a Time Over, ensuring he has a life advantage.
* IAmAMonster: One of his win quotes has him call himself a monster after realizing how overpowered he is.
* LightningBruiser: Rare Akuma moves ridiculously fast, can teleport to the opponent's position on a dime, has infinite combos for days, can OneHitKill the opponent at any time once his energy bar is full, shrugs off projectiles and teleports out of combos and constantly regenerates health/energy.
* ManOfKryptonite: A frequent victim of this trope; due to his popularity among MUGEN creators, many characters have anti-cheap modes designed specifically to counter him. Said characters cannot be damaged by Rare Akuma under any circumstances and usually possess the tools to break through his invincibility and take him out easily.
* {{Nerf}}: garjian's edit of Rare Akuma (aptly titled Fair Akuma) nerfs him to have slower speed and take more damage from attacks, renders him unable to perform {{One Hit Kill}}s and simplifies his AI.
* NoFairCheating: If his opponent is coded to be immune to one-hit kill attacks, including the F1 key,, then during the round call he will simply turn his back towards the screen with a HaughtyHmph and the opponent will instantly be [=KOed=] [[YouAreAlreadyDead the second the round starts]].
* NoSell:
** As if being able to regenerate from physical attacks wasn't bad enough, projectile attacks will completely bounce off Rare Akuma without hurting him.
** He's also immune to the F1 key, which normally [[OneHitKill instantly kills]] the character it's used on.
* OneHitKill: His unblockable Disco Trip Satsu and [[TakingYouWithMe Suicide]] hypers will instantly kill any opponent they hit.
* PurposelyOverpowered: Rare Akuma can combo any move into any other move for easy infinites, has infinite priority on his attacks and can [[OneHitKill instantly kill]] the opponent with the Disco Trip Satsu provided his (also regenerating) energy bar is full.
* ShoutOut: All over the place: he can summon a {{VideoGame/Katamari|Damacy}}, drop the [[Franchise/StarWars Death Star]], [[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventure stop time]], [[VideoGame/KirbySuperStar smash open the Earth]] and has a power level [[Anime/DragonBallZ OVER 9000]]!
* SillinessSwitch: The_None's soundpack for him, which crams in even more references and other wacky sound effects.
* SNKBoss: He's ridiculously fast, deals insane damage, can combo any move into any other move for infinites at any point, can escape from combos easily and possesses a PerfectPlayAI.
* SweetTooth: Besides being able to turn his opponents into various sweets with his ''[[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin CHOCOLATE]]'' attack, one of his winquotes points to it.
-->Must find more candy... Hmmm candy...
* TakingYouWithMe: The aptly-named Suicide hyper has Rare Akuma fly into the air and blow himself up, killing both himself and his opponent if it hits.
* TimeStandsStill: His [[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventure ZA WARUDO]] hyper lets him completely stop time and renders all opponents unable to move for its duration.
* WhatHaveIBecome: One of his win quotes implies he recognizes how overpowered he's become:
-->What have they done to me?! I am a monster!

One of the first cartoon characters ever created for M.U.G.E.N. where he participates in order to save his family and friends from an evil penguin named Madping, who kidnapped them and sent his minions to finish Pingu.
----
* AdaptationalBadass: Pingu here becomes a skilled badass fighter to the point he can even do a variant of the Shun-Goku-Satsu.
* AdaptationPersonalityChange: He is swearing in the intro and ending of his story mode.
* AsideGlance: Pingu pauses for a moment in his Pin-Goku-Satsu after noticing he was being observed.
* AssistCharacter: His friend Robby can be summoned to help Pingu defeat his opponent.
* BeTheBall: He and his assist Robby can willingly transform into a ball and roll to the opponent
* {{BFG}}: In one of his hypers, he can summon one which launches a massive snowball to the opponent.
* BigShutUp: In his ending, he sends Madping flying away while saying this. Minutes later, he does the same thing when Kung fu man criticizes his story mode.
* CurbStompBattle: After fighting through Madping's henchmen, Pingu ''easily'' defeats him by punching them away in one blow.
* IHaveYourWife: In his intro, an evil penguin named Madping kidnaps all of his friends and family, and forces him to fight his minions.
* ImprobableWeaponUser: Pingu uses snowballs as projectiles.
* NothingIsScarier: He invokes this to the opponent in his most powerful hyper, where he disappears while the background turns black, giving later a scare to the opponent that kills it instantly.
* OneHitKill: He has two, Pin-Goku-Satsu and his Super Scary Attack!
* RapidFireFisticuffs: PlayedForLaughs in his Pin-Goku-Satsu hyper, where he looks at the viewer after doing almost no damage and finishes the attack with a single hit that deals massive damage to the opponent, often killing it.
* RubberMan: Much like his series origin, he can change his shape at will.
* {{Shoryuken}}: Pingu can perform an uppercut in one of his specials.

[[quoteright:123:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/metool_mugen.png]]
[[caption-width-right:123:0WN3D!!!]]

A Metool from ''VideoGame/MegaManX'' with the ability to shoot, guard with its helmet, and a few new tricks.
----
* AdaptationalBadass: It's a lowly mook from the ''Franchise/MegaMan'' series turned into a LethalJokeCharacter, allowing it to perform fancy kicks and even summon a mech as well as the Metool Daddy.
* ArtificialBrilliance: An AI Patch by Ironcommando gives it a PerfectPlayAI, using the helmet guard to block almost any incoming attack, use a SpamAttack when the enemy lets their guard down (or even if the enemy guards, in order to build up super meter), avoid using any attacks that leave it open (such as the DivingKick), and finally summon the Metool Daddy to squish the opponent as soon as it gets 3 bars of power.
* ArtificialStupidity: It normally lacks a proper AI and uses attacks randomly. As such, it tends to leave itself open, or use attacks that leave it open.
* BreakoutMookCharacter: It's a MascotMook of the ''Franchise/MegaMan'' series as a proper character.
* CuteMachines: It's a Metool, which is basically a cute WaddlingHead robot with a hard hat.
* DeathFromAbove: How the Metool Daddy makes its appearance, by falling from above at a ''very'' fast speed and crushing the opponent underneath for a OneHitKill.
* DefendCommand: The Helmet Guard ability can be used by crouching and holding any attack button, making it NighInvulnerable.
* DivingKick: One of its moves has it jump in the air, somersault, then perform a very fast dive kick at the enemy.
* LeetLingo: Whenever it KO's an opponent with one of its Hypers, the text "0WN3D!!!" appears on screen.
* LethalJokeCharacter: At first it seems weak, what with having half the attack and defence of a regular character meaning that it deals weak damage and dies twice as fast. However, it's short, making most attacks sail over it, it has a helmet guard that makes it NighInvulnerable, it is capable of projectile spamming to stunlock foes, and has some incredibly dangerous hypers such as the Metool Daddy, an ''{{unblockable|attack}}'' OneHitKill that's tough to avoid.
* LuckilyMyShieldWillProtectMe: When it's under its invincible helmet, almost nothing will damage it, not even OneHitKill hyper moves.
* ManaShield: When it's in his level 2 hyper MiniMecha, all damage is dealt to its power meter. The mech is destroyed once that reaches 0.
* MiniMecha: Its level 2 hyper summons a [[VideoGame/MegaManX Ride Armor]] that can fire {{Spread Shot}}s and hit hard with punches.
* NighInvulnerable: When it uses its helmet guard, it becomes practically invincible against almost every attack short of null floods and registry manipulation.
* OneHitKill: It's level 3 hyper summons the [[VideoGame/MegaMan4 Metool Daddy]] to crush the opponent for an {{unblockable|attack}} instant death.
* SpamAttack: Notable of being able to stunlock enemies with its SpreadShot attacks, especially when close-up as it can fire again as soon as [[OneBulletAtATime the bullets from its previous attacks have disappeared]] (via contact or moving offscreen).
* SpreadShot: It's capable of firing a spread of bullets just like in the ''VideoGame/MegaManClassic'' series, one of which fires two and another fires three. When in its MiniMecha, it can also fire spreads from its ChestBlaster.
* SquashedFlat: Anyone unfortunate enough to be crushed by the Metool Daddy is instantly killed.
* UnblockableAttack: The Metool Daddy summon cannot be blocked, and it's also a OneHitKill to boot.
* WaddlingHead: It's an armless hard hat-wearing orb on legs. This also means it's ''incredibly'' short, causing most attacks to [[DenialOfDiagonalAttack pass right over it]].
* ZergRush: One of its level 1 hypers summons a horde of Metools to run over the enemy.

----
* AdaptationalBadass: A non-combatant in her home series, Eliza can now fight for herself in [=MUGEN=].
* AscendedExtra: From being a background character from ''Franchise/StreetFighter'' to a playable fighter on MUGEN.
* EveryoneLovesBlondes
* {{Expy}}: She was based on some Creator/{{SNK}} bosses as well on [[VideoGame/FinalFight Maki Genryusai]] from ''VideoGame/CapcomVsSNK2MarkOfTheMillennium'' for spriting.
* MovesetClone: Eliza based her moves on some SNK bosses like [[VideoGame/FatalFury Geese Howard]] and [[VideoGame/TheKingOfFighters Rugal Bernstein]].
* ShoutOut: Geting a well-done color separation, some of her palettes resemble other famous girls like [[VideoGame/FinalFight Poison]].
* UpdatedRerelease:
** Creator [=DivineWolf=] took Eliza, polished the moveset and added a CVS-like gameplay, perfecting what [=SilentRipper=] did.
** Years later, another creator called Akito modified her as a new OC character, "Angela", just by changing her main palette (now she's a brunette instead of a blonde) and portraits, making few gameplay edits and creating her a new story consistent with her moveset (as a Geese's disciple). This is because he says Eliza is more of an OriginalCharacter than an adaptation of Eliza as [=SilentRipper=] did.

!! Dancing Banana
-->''Created by Ironcommando''
[[quoteright:120:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ironcommandodancingbananaportrait.png]]
[[caption-width-right:120:"IT'S PEANUT BUTTER JELLY TIME!!!"]]

A dancing fruit of the ''Musa'' genus based on its namesake animated .gif, and is mostly associated with the "Peanut Butter Jelly Time" song.
----
* AdaptationalBadass: The original Dancing Banana was a dancing animation that didn't even have any combat showings. In ''M.U.G.E.N'', it has surprisingly dangerous combat capability despite still being silly.
* AnthropomorphicFood: They're a human-sized [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin Dancing Banana]].
* ArchNemesis: According to their readme, theirs is Franchise/DonkeyKong, due to bananas being DK's TrademarkFavouriteFood. They even kick DK away in one of their intros, and their losing animation has DK drop in and eat them.
* BatterUp: Its "Baseball Upper" has it take a baseball bat from nowhere and swing it at the enemy, causing the enemy to [[HomeRunHitter fly so high into the air]] that they hit the ground for extra damage. This is actually based on part of the lyrics of "Peanut Butter Jelly Time".
* BewareTheSillyOnes: It's a fighting banana with an odd voice that spouts lyrics from "Peanut Butter Jelly Time". It also has very long combos allowing it to dish out loads of damage while gaining lots of power, and its default AI is ''surprisingly brutal'' at that.
* BoomerangComeback: Their Bananarang projectiles have this property. When thrown, they will fly to the other end of the screen if they're dodged or blocked, linger there for some time, before flying back in the opposite direction to have another chance at hitting the opponent.
* {{Combos}}: Is notable for being able to chain long strings of combos and even has a setting that allows him to auto-combo the enemy if the punch or kick buttons are held down. The author has also stated that he is partially inspired by Dragon Claw, a character well-known for their long strings of combos.
* CriticalAnnoyance: Averted. When their health drops low, a "DANGER" text along with a klaxon will play, but only once.
* DanceBattler: They aren't called the Dancing Banana for nothing, and several of its attacks consist of punching the enemy while dancing.
* DeathOrGloryAttack: Their "Sugar Rush" special costs no energy and is followed by a hefty combo if it connects, but it is easy to notice and guard. If guarded, Dancing Banana will leave themselves very open to a counterattack.
* EatenAlive: Its losing animation has Donkey Kong drop down from above to pick it up and eat it, with a GoryDiscretionShot played for laughs.
* EdibleAmmunition: Dancing Banana is capable of throwing bananas of various sizes.
* EvilCounterpart: Rotten Banana, who has the colours of a rotten banana, some of Akuma's attacks, and has traits that make him intentionally broken such as spammable projectiles and lack of damage dampening. They also kill Dancing Banana in their match intro.
* FlippingTheBird: At low health, Dancing Banana's power charge stance turns from their standard dance into this. Rotten Banana ''always'' uses this while charging power regardless of health.
* FoodBasedSuperpowers: It's capable of grabbing huge bananas from Hammerspace, as well as launching kicks that somehow produce giant, painful bananas.
* FightingClown: It's a dancing banana with oddball attacks, hilarious voices, and wacky sounds. Despite this, it plays like the average fighting game character, and its default AI is ''surprisingly brutal''.
* HomeRunHitter: "Baseball Upper" hits the opponent with a baseball bat so hard it sends them off the top of the screen for a while, before they hit the ground for even more damage.
* ImprobableWeaponUser: Several of its attacks consist of launching bananas of varying sizes.
* LiteralAssKicking: One of its grabs is called "Ass Kick", it consists of [[NeckLift lifting the opponent by the back of the neck]] then kicking their butt.
* NoSell: The Ghost Banana palette is immune to most projectiles and throws, but physical attacks will still hit them.
* OneHitKill: Their Rotten Banana palette is capable of performing the Shun Banana Satsu, which will instantly kill an opponent if it connects.
* PunnyName: Not only is Rotten Banana just physically rotten, they also sport a [[EvilCounterpart rotten personality]].
* PurposelyOverpowered: The Rotten Banana palette is stated by the author to be intentionally overpowered, having a lack of combo damage dampening, an easy method to gain power, spammable projectiles, and a OneHitKill hyper.
* {{Shoryuken}}: One of his specials allows him to perform a rising uppercut punch. It's also used at the end of his Sugar Rush special.
* ShoutOut:
** The author themselves has stated that they're a cross between [[Franchise/StreetFighter Akuma]] and [[OriginalGeneration Dragon Claw]], having the former's projectiles and some of their moves while also having the latter's insane combo ability. The Akuma reference is taken even further with the Rotten Banana palette, who even uses the Asura Warp and the Shun Goku Satsu as moves.
** Franchise/DonkeyKong appears in one of their intros, as well as their losing animation. Their readme also mentions that DK is their worst enemy.
* SpectacularSpinning: Its level 3 hyper move "Fruit Blender" has it knock down the opponent, then proceed to spin upside down using its hands to blend them rapidly for huge damage.
* StylisticSuck: Their sprites and animations appear to be heavily pixelated just like the original .gif animation.
* UnwinnableJokeGame: Or "Unwinnable Joke A.I. Level" in this case. Setting their configuration file's AI level to [[spoiler:9001 and above]] will make them invulnerable and constantly spam hypers, including the Rotten Banana palette-exclusive [[OneHitKill Shun Banana Satsu]].
* WeakButSkilled: They deal less damage than most characters with their individual attacks and projectiles. However, they have ''long'' strings of combos that can deal sizeable damage and also give them a great amount of energy needed for hypers.

!! VideoGame/{{Space Invader|s}}
-->''Created by Ironcommando''

A single space invader from its eponymous game. It is extremely easy to destroy, yet very lethal at the same time.
----
* DelayedReaction: It can only move between brief pauses, similar to how the invaders in its source game moved.
* DifficultyByAcceleration: It will decrease the pause between its movements over time, mimicking the arcade game.
* DisintegratorRay: Its only method of attack fires out a PainfullySlowProjectile laser which instantly vaporizes any opponent it hits by completely removing them from the fight.
* {{Flight}}: It is unaffected by gravity.
* GlassCannon: Perhaps the ultimate example in MUGEN. Its only attack is a laser shot that will OneHitKill the enemy if it is not blocked or dodged. However, it cannot block and it dies in one hit.
* LethalJokeCharacter: The "Lethal" part comes from it being able to OneHitKill any character in one unblocked hit, while the "Joke" part comes from it being a OneHitPointWonder.
* MechanicallyUnusualFighter: Instead of walking, it moves one step in one of the four directions after a brief pause in between. Furthermore, it kills its opponents in one hit, but also takes one hit to go down.
* NoBodyLeftBehind: Anyone unfortunate enough to be hit by its DisintegratorRay will be removed from the fight outright.
* OneBulletAtATime: Only one laser projectile can be on the screen at a time.
* OneHitKill: Its only attack is a DisintegratorRay that will vaporize the opponent if it hits.
* OneHitPointWonder: It only takes one hit to explode, and it also cannot block attacks.
* PainfullySlowProjectile: Its laser projectile is rather slow, just like in its source game.

Sick of the endless glut of broken, overpowered, poorly-sprited Dragon Ball characters, creators Balthazar and Cybaster formed Team Z2 to rebuild Goku's reputation in M.U.G.E.N. Sprited, coded and even voice-acted from scratch, Z2 Goku is designed to be a professional quality love letter to the original manga and anime. The Z2 Project gradually expanded to incorporate other Dragon Ball stars as they began work on a full standalone game for them to inhabit, ''VideoGame/HyperDragonBallZ''.
----
* AlternateSelf: Team Z2 have since created a Super Saiyan version of Goku as a separate fighter. That version actually can transform into higher forms mid-battle, going up to [[Anime/DragonBallZResurrectionF Super Saiyan Blue ]] and even [[spoiler: [[Anime/DragonBallSuper Perfected Ultra Instinct]] during an especially cinematic super move.]] This trope also applies to the many other Gokus of M.U.G.E.N by different authors.
* BigEater: He makes many references to his voracious Saiyan appetite.
* BloodKnight: His overriding goal in life is to find powerful opponents whom he can test his limits against. In battle, he constantly wears a competitive smirk.
* BrickJoke: One of Goku's intros has him being lovey-dovey with Chi-Chi, then throwing her in the air. One of his victory animations is subsequently catching her, and picking up where they left off.
* DubText: {{Averted}}, Z2 Goku's personality is highly faithful to the original Japanese source material, though a few common dub-isms slip through the cracks, as can be seen in the below trope.
* TheHero: In contrast to his canonical counterpart, this Goku outright refers to himself as a hero in one of his winquotes. In ''Dragon Ball'' proper, [[SubvertedTrope Goku never identifies as one]], since his main motivation above saving the universe is to fight powerful opponents, occasionally putting the Earth at risk in pursuit of his desires.
* KamehameHadoken: It wouldn't be Goku if he didn't have his signature Kamehameha, though he can fire a smaller Hadouken-like variation that takes the form of a single energy sphere.
* PintSizedPowerhouse: Z2 Goku is noticeably short and squat with a stocky build, reminiscent of the early ''Dragon Ball'' art style.
* TheRival: Z2 Vegeta, as expected.
* SeanConneryIsAboutToShootYou: His Kaioken super move ends with a cinematic shot of Goku fiercely lunging towards the camera. The Super Saiyan version of Goku also has a cinematic super of him using the Ultra Instinct transformation to fire a godlike Kamehameha towards the camera!
* ShotoClone: This Goku is designed to be unintimidating to fundamental fighting game players, so his moveset is recognisably [[Franchise/StreetFighter Ryu]]-like. His specials include a smaller Hadouken-styled Kamehameha and a Tatsumaki (Tornado Kick).
* SNKBoss: While explicitly marketed as a less overpowered alternative to other Goku versions, the AI of Z2 Goku is nevertheless brutal and punishing, constantly executing lengthy combos as well as frame-perfect pokes and blocks.
* SuperMode: He uses the Kaioken technique as a super move, which coats his body in a fiery red aura.
** Team Z2 originally did plan to allow this Goku to transform into a Super Saiyan mid-battle by absorbing the energy of the Spirit Bomb, as he did in the ''Anime/DragonBallZSuperAndroid13'' movie. This was dropped after they decided to make Super Saiyan Goku into a separate character.

Character recreated from ''VideoGame/ScottPilgrimVSTheWorldTheGame'' with their sprites [[https://mugenguild.com/forum/topics/scott-pilgrim-serious-ver-finally-released-154031.0.html made from scratch by Basara-kun]] years before the game sprites were ripped properly and giving him the voice from [[Creator/MichaelCera his live-action persona]]. This character was praised for the community winning some prizes and used by other creators [[FollowTheLeader as base for future chars]] from the game when the ripped sprites were released on the internet, with the same Basara-kun making some other chars like Nega-Scott, Envy Adams and [[{{Mook}} Robot Chuck]].
----
* AssistCharacter: Scott can call Stephen, Kim, Ramona, Knives, Wallace and even Nega-Scott!
** TagTeam: As his [[LimitBreak Level 3 super]], Scott calls Stephen and Kim, and they perform a piece of the Sex Bob-Omb (from TheMovie), where they [[SummonBiggerFish summon a giant yeti]] that uses the whole screen to make damage to the enemies.
* CloseRangeCombatant: Scott has no projectiles, only fights with the GoodOldFisticuffs.
* DivergentCharacterEvolution: Despite having almost the same sprites and base, Nega-Scott plays different from Scott, even the same moves have variations and play different.
* EarlyBirdRelease: The first version was released in 2011 with the few animations available on the net, so this creator made a kind of JokeCharacter of him that gave him fame. The real character with the new sprites was released in 2013.
* FakeShemp: Is voiced by Michael Cera via voice clips from [[Film/ScottPilgrimVsTheWorld the movie]].
* MirrorMatch: Technically when you fight Scott against Nega-Scott, who got a special intro between these characters.
* MissingTrailerScene: In the first trailers of the game, the Tech Attack (the "BOOM" uppercut) was wider than in the final version, which animation was given to Stephen and Wallace in the game. Basara-kun inverted this by respriting the first version based on the trailers and made it as a super version of this attack in his character.
* {{Shotoclone}}: Scott has most of the moves with the exception of the [[KamehameHadouken Hadouken]], which technically could count if you include Nega-Scott's [[EnergyBall assist attack]]. Nega-Scott is a more straight example.
* SuperMovePortraitAttack: The pose used for ''The Game'' appears everytime he's gonna make a super move.

[[caption-width-right:120:''-happy noises-'']]
-->''Created by ironcommando''
An adorable, amorphous happy orange blob. It's playful and making contact with it induces a lingering euphoria, so of course, its goal in M.U.G.E.N. is to make everyone happy!
----
* ActualPacifist: ''None'' of its attacks deal any damage. Averted however if its AI level is set to certain [[UnwinnableJokeGame unwinnable joke numbers]].
* BackgroundMusicOverride: If it successfully makes an opponent too happy to fight and forced to HappyDance, it'll replace the background music with "[[WesternAnimation/TheRenAndStimpyShow Happy Happy Joy Joy]]".
* BadassAdorable: SCP-999's an adorable orange blob of slime that's also capable of facing up to and bringing happiness to several of MUGEN's most bloodthirsty characters.
* BadGuysDoTheDirtyWork: If all opponents have their happiness bars filled but have hyper armor and cannot be placed into a custom state via reversals, then after a bit of time [[spoiler:SCP-682 will stomp them from above to KO them via regular instakill damage]].
* BeTheBall: One of its special moves is called "Cinnamon Roll", where it turns into a ball to rolling tackle-hug the opponent.
* BlobMonster: A given, as this is SCP-999. Their movement is quite unlike most other MUGEN characters, being made of several sprites that move and shift around to give it an amorphous appearance.
* TheCameo: [[spoiler:SCP-682]] appears if the opponents have their happiness bars filled up, but are unable to be placed into the "happy" state thanks to hyper armor and immunity to reversals.
* DangerousForbiddenTechnique: It's mentioned on the SCP wiki that SCP-999 is not to be given caffeinated soft drinks of any kind, as it will cause it to go into a sugar rush followed by queasiness from the carbonation. Naturally, this ends up being one of its {{Limit Break}}s, and after using it will cause them to go into a queasy state where they cannot attack, jump high, or move quickly until it subsides.
* EdibleAmmunition: Two of their "attacks" involve shooting a packet's worth of [=M&Ms=] or dropping a rain of Necco Wafers from above.
* ExpressiveHealthBar:
** The opponent's [[LifeMeter happiness meters]] start out empty with a red angry face, which turns into an orange annoyed face at 25%, then a yellow smiley face at 50%, and a brighter yellow overjoyed face at 75%. If this fills up, the face turns into SCP-999's smiling face. Should the opponent be KO'd via damage, the face instead turns into a gray face with X eyes.
** SCP-999's own expression as well as the face on its happiness bar turns sadder and sadder as it takes damage to its happiness.
* GettingSmiliesPaintedOnYourSoul: This is its main method of combat. Its mere touch causes opponents' happiness to increase, and it's capable of making even the most bloodthirsty opponents happy to the point where they stop fighting and start dancing.
* HappyDance: Anyone whose happiness bar fills up against it will be forced into one of these. SCP-999 also does this as a possible winpose.
* HeadPet: A possible winpose has it shrink down, gently jump onto a befriended opponent's head, and rest there.
* HealingShiv: SCP-999 has a move that makes it rain Necco wafers and another that fires [=M&Ms=]. If the opponent is hit by any candy, they get their health restored, and also take a noticeable increase in happiness if it restored their health. SCP-999 is also affected by the candy, and this increases their own happiness and increases their power bar.
* HitPoints: SCP-999 has its own hit points, and also gives its opponents their own version of hit points.
** SCP-999's happiness acts as its own HP, and decreases as it gets hit. If this reaches 0, SCP-999 is KO'd.
** Each opponent facing SCP-999 has their own happiness bar. If this fills up, the opponent is forced to do a HappyDance.
* ImprobableWeaponUser: SCP-999 can summon a rain of Necco wafers, and use a packet of [=M&Ms=] as a "shotgun" of sorts. Both moves [[HealingShiv heal]] the opponent but do increase their happiness.
* IWasToldThereWouldBeCake: One of its hypers has it throw a cake party where it and its opponents are fed instances of SCP-871 cakes. This greatly heals the opponents and maxes their power bar, but also gives a large amount of happiness and heals SCP-999 for a huge amount too.
* LethalJokeCharacter: SCP-999 has half the health of a normal character and cannot deal damage. However, it's capable of moving through opponents and disrupting them while doing so, it takes a maximum of 1/10th of its max health whenever it's hit, and its moves increase an opponent's happiness bar with some of them being reversal attacks. Should this bar fill up, that opponent will be forced to HappyDance, which is essentially a KO. Finally, it IS capable of "defeating" Omega Tom Hanks -- but only after OTH's happiness bar fills to max first.
* MechanicallyUnusualFighter: SCP-999 doesn't deal damage. Instead, opponents have a happiness bar which fills up as 999 touches them or affects them with its moves. Once this fills up, most opponents will be KO'd by being forced into a HappyDance. SCP-999 themselves cannot block but has their own happiness bar that depletes upon taking damage, it's around half as much as a normal health bar, but always takes a maximum of 1/10th of its max happiness per hit meaning that it needs to be hit at least 10 times.
* MoodWhiplash: SCP-999 normally a heartwarming character who attempts to make the opponent happy. However, if the opponent's happiness bar is full and they can't be put into custom states for the Happy Dance "KO" thanks to hyper armor, then after a short while SCP-682, complete with ''exposed flesh and bone'', will suddenly drop onto the battlefield to crush the enemy.
* NighInvulnerable: SCP-999 does not take any conventional damage. ''However'', getting hit causes its happiness bar to deplete, and once that reaches zero it [[DespairEventHorizon melts into a sad puddle]], [=KOing=] it.
* NonstandardCharacterDesign: Unlike most characters, SCP-999 doesn't have a "main" sprite. Instead, it's made of several transparent orange circle sprites that are positioned in a way that makes it appear and move like an amorphous blob of slime.
* PleaseWakeUp: If all of its opponents are KO'd (the usual way) at the end of the battle, its winpose will have it go over to the nearest ally or enemy and attempt to wake them up.
* PowerUpFood: Its Sugar Rush hyper move has a can of cola poured onto it, causing it to bounce around the entire area at very fast speeds.
* ShoutOut: There's a few:
** Whenever it lands from a jump, it plays the slime hopping sound from ''VideoGame/{{Minecraft}}'', albeit softly so that it won't be annoying.
** One of its hypers involves it and its opponents eating SCP-871 cakes.
** If it successfully makes an opponent do a HappyDance, it'll cause "[[WesternAnimation/TheRenAndStimpyShow Happy Happy Joy Joy]]" to play as a BackgroundMusicOverride.
** Some of its winposes involve performing [[Franchise/MortalKombat Friendships]], complete with the ''Mortal Kombat'' "Friendship" text and sound effect.
** SCP-458 appears in one of its winposes, where 999 offers a "defeated" opponent the pizza box.
** [[spoiler:SCP-682]] will appear to finish off the opponent if the opponents happiness bars have been filled, but are immune to being placed in a custom state thanks to hyper armor.
** One of its palettes turns it azure as a reference to E-999-A.
** The [[UnwinnableJokeGame Unwinnable Joke AI]] levels correspond to the numbers of several other [=SCPs=].
* UnwinnableJokeGame: Like two of Ironcommando's other characters before it, SCP-999 has a few unwinnable joke AI settings that turn it much more threatening or outright impossible to kill, but must be configured by the player. The AI levels otherwise go from 0-6.
** [[spoiler:49, 9, and 409]] causes it to [[TouchOfDeath KO opponents on contact]].
** [[spoiler:173]] and [[spoiler:689]] cause it to KO opponents that face away from it with a NeckSnap sound.
** [[spoiler:343]] makes it invulnerable and also KO opponents on contact.
** [[spoiler:682]] makes it take decreasing amounts of damage as it gets hit. As it gets hit, it starts becoming ImmuneToFlinching, then immune to knockback. After a few more hits, attacks will not make any contact with it.
** [[spoiler:2935]] makes it automatically KO everyone in the fight, itself and its own partner included.
* VideoGameCaringPotential: None of SCP-999's attacks do any damage, and it even has some "attacks" that ''heal'' the opponent. All of its attacks cause the opponent to get happier instead, and once an opponent's happiness fills up they do a HappyDance which essentially [=KOs=] them from the fight. One possible winpose also has SCP-999 offer the opponent a pizza from SCP-458.
* WingdingEyes: After it uses the Sugar Rush move it becomes queasy for a short while, which causes its eyes to turn into dizzy spirals.

[[folder:The_None's Characters]]
One of the most prolific and lauded auteurs of the M.U.G.E.N community, The_None's creations are known for their thematically offbeat, high-concept designs, [[ReferenceOverdosed the litany of obscure cultural references stuffed into them]], and their [[SugarWiki/GeniusProgramming intelligent AI coding]]. Many of his earlier characters were drawn from obscure PC games, though his current portfolio is very large and diverse. This profile will cover some of his most interesting creations. If there's any single author who can prove that literally ''any'' character or concept can be converted into the engine with enough ingenuity, it's him. The_None has used a handful of alternate personas over the years. In his cruder early days, he was known as Most_Mysterious. For his [[StylisticSuck purposefully bad]] joke creations, he goes by the pseudonym Adamlexus (a TakeThat to the widely disparaged M.U.G.E.N creator Alexlexus).

His characters can be downloaded [[https://www.justnopoint.com/lbends/index.php?location=home here]].

!!General The_None character tropes
----
* ArtShift: Most of his earlier work was drawn and animated in MS Paint. He sometimes revisits this style out of nostalgia, but for the most part he's moved past it.
* DenserAndWackier: The_None seems to prioritise humour and fun above competitive viability with the majority of his characters, though some, like Dee Bee Kaw, take the cake in this regard. Even darker creations like Giygas contain traces of his brand of comedy.
** The_None has been known to subvert this trend on occassion. For example, his conversion of ComicBook/{{Thanos}} combining moves from his VideoGame/MarvelVsCapcom2 and VideoGame/MarvelSuperHeroes appearances otherwise contains no significant diversion from the source material whatsoever.
* ReferenceOverdosed: As said above, most of his characters are jam-packed with esoteric cultural references, some relevant to the characters in question, some less so.
* StylisticSuck: His Adamlexus persona produces significantly lower quality work, usually parodying the work of other authors, though some still contain neat tricks and gimmicks in their coding, simultaneously mocking the original authors and [[DoWrongRight showing them how to do bad characters properly]].

A bizarre rendition of Tiger Woods with a Nike logo smile, with even ''more'' bizarre attacks.
----
* BewareTheSillyOnes: One of the silliest MUGEN characters out there, and also one of the more dangerous ones thanks to his surprisingly overpowered attacks.
* BigHeadMode: His head is extremely big compared to the rest of his body.
* CrosshairAware: Throughout the fight, he has a crosshair that moves around the battlefield. It's capable of attacking on its own by dropping exploding golf tees, landmines, and even a grabber crane that grabs and drops the enemy.
* {{Fartillery}}: A number of his attacks cause fart sounds when hitting, like the Shrimp Bus.
* GlassCannon: Has a lot of overpowered attacks that can't be blocked, but he in turn can't block at all.
* LookBothWays: One of his hyper moves has him summon a bus with a shrimp advertisement on it to run into the enemy. It deals heavy damage and it ''can't be blocked''.
* MechanicallyUnusualFighter: He's capable of using several powerful oddball attacks, and even has a crosshair that can attack on its own. His main weakness is that he's incapable of blocking.
* NumberOfTheBeast: His original version had the filename of "mm_666".
* UseYourHead: His "Large Skull" move causes him to smash the ground with his head and cause an earthquake.

An MS Paint drawn man who, after his hamster Mistah Ham Ham is killed in yet another violent street fight, proceeds to feed the vicious cycle of violence in the hood.

----
* BewareTheSillyOnes: He might just be M.U.G.E.N's biggest example. He's A FightingClown Cloudcuckoolander whose [[ConfusionFu moveset runs on the absurd]]. He also has an incredibly brutal AI, he hits like a truck, and he damn well knows how to use his moveset to his advantage.
* BreakMeter: Dee Bee Kaw features a "Neurotic Gauge" which in addition to altering basic attacks at random, will stun him to a dizzy state if he gets hit when the meter is full. This gauge will fill whenever Dee Bee Kaw attacks or gets hit.
** Also defending against too many consecutive hits will cause DBK's arm(or leg) to snap off and leave him open for an attack
* ConfusionFu: That's putting it ''lightly''. He can pull out bear traps, a gun to shoot at the ground, a rocket launcher, bang his head to extremely heavy metal, ''turn himself into a flying fist'', summon [[Manga/JojosBizarreAdventureBattleTendency Joseph Joestar]] for a rising punch, a giant hamster, ''statues'', and on top of all that, pull off techniques from other characters. That's only the tip of the iceberg.
* DifficultButAwesome: Same as Dragon Claw, his brutal AI makes it look easy while in reality to take the most out of him one must master his combos and specals (some which feature unorthodox button commands) as well as managing his neurotic gauge and inability to guard indefintely, all which takes a significant amount of practice.
* DisproportionateRetribution: His reaction to the death of his beloved pet hamster? To rip an entire multiverse of fighters a new one.
* DolledUpInstallment: He was edited from Big Eli King (one of first XCB's characters and the first nickname he used, basically [[InkSuitActor a character of himself]]) as [[WordOfGod The_None stated in the readme]].
* FightingClown: Looks and acts very silly, but plays like a normal character (and a pretty powerful one at that).
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: Dee Bee Kaw can stun himself with his own beartraps if he steps on them, leaving him wide open.
* LampshadeHanging: The entire HTML readme.
* NintendoHard: His AI is absolutely relentless and will abuse and exploit every single strength available to him as much as possible. His Maherl bomb will catch you off-guard and his combos will destroy a great portion of your life if you allow him. His extremely aggressive gameplay means openings against him are slim, so make your next combo count!
* RocketJump: One of his moves involves the use of this.
* ShoutOut: His Drive is directly taken from [[VideoGame/BlazBlue Taokaka]], he shoots out [[Manga/JojosBizarreAdventure Joseph Joestar]] in his RISING GRANDPA special, he has [[VideoGame/ArtOfFighting Robert Garcia]]'s Genei Kyaku (the EX version is Chun-Li's Hoyoku-Sen) and the [[{{VideoGame/Breakers}} Maherl Bomb]] and in his A THUD A WHO super he can either fire a [[Franchise/StreetFighter Shinku Hadouken]], Ash Crimson's Thermidor, a [[VideoGame/FatalFury Kaiser Wave]], a multiplying plate of turkey from VideoGame/TattooAssassins, [[ComicBook/IronMan a Proton Cannon]] (Or a Proton VisualNovel/{{Kanon}}), Omega Tiger Wood's head or The World, wherein he then performs Shadow DIO's "Punishment!" super.
** His ending even references Anime/OjamajoDoremi, of all things.
* SignificantAnagram: Two of his supers are anagrams of descriptions of the attacks: A-THUD A-WHO, which fires a random projectile as a KamehameHadouken is an anagram of HADOU[[FlatWhat WHAT]], while SCUMLIKE, TACTFUL, TRUE, the grab special that involves [[Franchise/StreetFighter Akuma]], [[Manga/JojosBizarreAdventure DIO on a road roller]], and a giant can of Pepsi flattening you and your opponent, is an anagram of [[MindScrew ULTIMATE CLUSTERFUCK]].

!![[VideoGame/{{Mother}} Giygas]]
-->''Created by The_None''
[[quoteright:120:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mugen_gyigas.png]]
[[caption-width-right:120:I see you]]

The nightmarish final boss of ''[[VideoGame/EarthBound1994 EarthBound]]'', transformed into the very definition of mindfuck horror by The_None. A formless EldritchAbomination, Giygas' fighting style is appropriately [[ConfusionFu indescribable]] as his original game appearance indicated, consisting of throwing out [[UnblockableAttack unblockable energy waves]], [[CastingAShadow walls of darkness]], [[ElementalPowers elemental PSI powers]], [[VideoGame/HalfLife Headcrabs]], scary image macros, [[JumpScare jump scares]], sadistic [[PressXToNotDie quick-time-event scenarios]], among many, many other bizarre techniques. He can even disrupt his opponent's UI in unpredictable ways.

----
* AIBreaker: Most characters can't deal with Giygas'... ''unorthodox'' fighting methods in the hands of the computer, and fewer still can properly complete his "minigames".
* BlackComedy: Giygas demonstrates some typical irreverent The_None humour, exemplified by him summoning a giant ghost of UsefulNotes/JohnMcCain. Some of the torment Giygas inflicts on the player can be so over-the-top it loops back round into being hilarious.
* '''ConfusionFu''': It's basically impossible to form consistent strategies against Giygas because of his sheer unpredictability, constant UI interference and various broken abilities, though he can be beaten with more luck than skill (or a sufficiently overpowered cheapie).
* CastingAShadow: His Wall of Darkness ability slowly coats the screen in darkness, covering the player's health gauge. If the opponent so much as grazes the darkness, well... bad things happen.
* CreatorCameo: The only known images of The_None's real face appear as victory screens for Giygas. [[EyelessFace Though his eyes appear to be missing]] in one of them...
* EldritchAbomination: He was already a highly disturbing one by SNES game standards, but The_None takes this trope and runs with it, giving Giygas every terrifying, ungraspable ability you'd expect a cosmic horror to have and then some.
* TheFourthWallWillNotProtectYou: Giygas is naturally all about this trope, as he's designed as a pure horror character first and foremost, though many of his abilities blur the lines of M.U.G.E.N and reality. Some of the following random effects are produced by his appropriately named "PSI Mindfuck" ability.
** He can black out the entire screen and mute the game's audio, making it seem as though the game has crashed.
** He can invert his opponent's super attacks to violently self-destruct upon activation.
** His UnexpectedGameplayChange traps appear to transport the player to different games altogether.
* HellIsThatNoise: Giygas is constantly groaning and roaring in agony, reflecting his tortured existence.
* JumpScare: His moveset and victory poses are full of screamers, and some of them come out completely randomly, so you'd better stay on your guard.
* LetsGetDangerous: If you somehow manage to overcome Giygas's insanity in Round 1, in Round 2 he pulls out all the stops, delving headlong into TheComputerIsACheatingBastard territory as his attacks become increasingly disruptive to both his opponents and the player themselves.
* UnexpectedGameplayChange: While Giygas is infamous for forcing the player to participate in QTE sequences, some of his portal traps transport the player to totally different gameplay genres that could almost make you forget you're playing a fighting game.
** Most notable is the Forest Shootout minigame in which the player is transported to a full blown SurvivalHorror FirstPersonShooter and forced to fight off against waves of hellish creatures with limited ammo at your disposal.
** There's a keepie-uppie game where the player has to keep a ball from touching the floor.
* WeaksauceWeakness: In reference to how prayer can damage Giygas in the original ''Mother'' games, taunting has a similar effect on him here.

[[caption-width-right:101:Heh heh. Yeah. I usually win.]]
One of the titular protagonists from Beavis and Butthead. This version of him stands out as unlike the previous ones where other authors ripped sprites from the sega genesis and the super nintendo official games, The none's version has spritework that looked almost identical to his source origin. With that, and his wacky moveset, he managed him to win the Mugen Fighter Guild's Character of the Year award in 2013.
----
* GroinAttack: He can in one of his specials, and does a dangerous one to his opponent who is transformed into Music/MilliVanilli in the "Baby Don't Forget My Number" hyper combo.
* MustHaveCaffeine: Beavis can turn into his alter ego, the Great Cornholio by drinking a coffee bottle and attack his opponents with his crazy arms.
* PlayingWithFire: Beavis "The Flaming Shits of Leonard Cohen" hyper combo involves him summoning a flame that can be controlled by holding the attack button, with a catch. Should you press the button more than you should, Beavis will take damage and lose control of himself.
* WeaponizedBall: Beavis uses a bowling ball as a special. Pressing X or Y while charging allows him to make it explosive.

One of the titular protagonists from Beavis and Butthead. Just like his best friend, The_None's version of him stands out for his spritework.
----
* {{Fartillery}}: His blowback attack releases a wide fart that can knock down his opponents.
* GroinAttack: He can kick his opponents in the nuts when performing his "Penis I See" hyper combo.
* KickThemWhileTheyAreDown: In one of his winposes, Butthead does this to his defeated opponent.
* PromotedToPlayable: Before being made, he assisted Beavis in his "Merry Go Bye Bye" hyper combo.
* RodAndReelRepurposed: Butt-Head uses one as a grappling hook to grab the ceiling and attack.
* StatusBuff: Butt-Head can temporarily increase the damage of his attacks in his "Jean Gary Diablo" hyper combo.
* SuperSpit: One of Butt-Head's specials. The more you charge the spit, the bigger it becomes.

A riff on the "mirrored-down-the-centre boxart" meme (which similarly inspired the ''VideoGame/{{Doom}}'' mod, ''[=DooD=]'', applied to Boxer [[IHaveManyNames (A.K.A. Balrog, A.K.A. M. Bison)]] from ''Franchise/StreetFighter''. All of his idle and attack animations mirror themselves, so each attack hits from both directions. In short, imagine Balrog, except every time he punches right, [[MindScrew he also punches left at the same time.]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uyDyQREAE7k Just observe for yourself.]]

----
* ConfusionFu: Downplayed somewhat. Conceptually, he's fairly easy to grasp once you wrap your head around the whole "punches in both directions" thing, but his actual animations can be disorienting and difficult to telegraph. In fact, The_None made some gameplay adjustments to make him more bearable to play as, namely by turning his usual charge-based special motions into quarter-circle motions.
* MultipleHeadCase: Sometimes he has two heads. [[LosingYourHead Sometimes he has no head.]]

A monochromatic take on the Mortal Kombat ninja Chameleon, made in the style of the terrible, low-res ''[[VideoGame/MortalKombat3 Mortal Kombat Trilogy]]'' port for the handheld Platform/GameCom system by Tiger Electronics. He possesses the same janky physics and control layout faithfully replicated from the port, and holds the dubious distinction of being the only known M.U.G.E.N character to be converted from a Game.com game.

----
* AllYourPowersCombined: Canonically, Chameleon can use moves from all the other Mortal Kombat ninjas. Here, he only uses the abilities of Reptile, Noob Saibot and Rain (with Fatalities stolen from Ermac and Smoke).
* CanonForeigner: Ironically, Chameleon wasn't even featured in the Game.com port of ''MK Trilogy''. The sprite used is actually of Reptile, with some of Noob Saibot and Rain's moves grafted on. For added irony, Chameleon is best known for his rainbow-coloured costume, but this is imperceptible due to his sprite being DeliberatelyMonochrome.
* DeliberatelyMonochrome: On top of being black-and-white, his sprite is highly pixellated, making him look especially primitive.
* StylisticSuck: It wouldn't be accurate to the source material if he didn't suck.

[[folder:Warner's Characters]]

Warner is a M.U.G.E.N. creator from El Salvador known for being part of the Mugen Hispania, an important Spanish-spoken community in the TurnOfTheMillennium. He's known to be one of the most prolific spriters from Latin America making all his characters from scratch, being most famous for create characters from Creator/MattGroening and Creator/SethMacFarlane animated series, [[HeroProtagonist Kenshin Himura]] and [[BigBad Makoto Shishio]] from ''Manga/RurouniKenshin'', as well other famous characters like ComicBook/TheThing, WesternAnimation/DonaldDuck, VideoGame/{{Wario}} and [[WesternAnimation/TheFlintstones Fred Flintstone]].

However, he's not just recognized by good things, but for bad ones too. He was marked in the past to use character coding without permission[[note]]In M.U.G.E.N. community, there was an unwritten rule about asking permission or at least giving credit to other creators for their coding[[/note]], which made him a bad fame. Not to mention his NSFW works weren't well received for the mainstream community (usually the XXX releases are banned from most of communities and forums), becoming a controversial figure for decades, even today some older creators and players don't trust on him.

!!General Warner's Character tropes
----
* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness: Warner's first few characters, particularly [[WesternAnimation/TheSimpsons Homer Simpson]], Evil Homer and [[Franchise/SuperMarioBros Wario]], were spriteswaps of completely unrelated characters. His later characters are coded from scratch and are not spriteswaps.
* EvilKnockoff: Warner has made evil versions of some of his characters, like [[Recap/TheSimpsonsS4E20WhackingDay Evil Homer]], [[Recap/TheSimpsonsS5E5TreehouseOfHorrorIV Dracula Burns]], [[Recap/TheSimpsonsS8E1TreehouseOfHorrorVII Hugo Simpson]] and [[Manga/RurouniKenshin Hitokiri Battōsai]].
* {{Fanservice}}: His female characters are known to have compatibility with NSFW characters. He also made various sexy portraits for various fighting game girls and even helped Tetchi in his NSFW fullgame.
* ReferenceOverdosed: Most of Warner's characters are jam-packed with esoteric cultural references, some relevant to the characters in question, some less so.
* SignatureStyle: His "[[UsefulNotes/MSPaint Paint]] Cartoon" style is recognizable everywhere, which make other works that don't use this technique seems weird, like The Thing and ''Rurouni Kenshin'' chars.
* TagTeam: During his Mugen Hispania time, most of his chars from the time were remade by @ndroide to improve their coding and gameplay, and in part to [[ClearMyName clear his name]] from the accusations of his chars being spriteswap of other characters (which was something controversial in those times.)

!![[WesternAnimation/TheSimpsons Homer Simpson]]
[[quoteright:120:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/warnerhomer.png]]
[[caption-width-right:120:"Out of my way, jerkass!"]]

One of the most recognized cartoon characters of all time made the jump to M.U.G.E.N back in 2006 by the hands of Warner. The success of this character made this creator recreate more characters from not just ''WesternAnimation/TheSimpsons'' but from other similar (and based) animations as ''WesternAnimation/{{Futurama}}'' and ''WesternAnimation/FamilyGuy''.
----
* AssKicksYou: His standing strong kick allows him to hit with his huge butt.
* {{Animorphism}}: On drunken mode, he can briefly transform into his walrus self from [[Recap/TheSimpsonsS14E1TreehouseOfHorrorXIII The Island of Doctor Hibbert]] using his crouching medium kick.
* TheCameo: Homer doesn't fight alone
** In Warner's earlier versions he calls his son Bart to attack the enemy with either his slingshot or with firecrackers in one of his super attacks.
** When Homer loses, Nelson Muntz appears out of nothing to mock Homer with his classic "HA-HA!".
** Santa's little helper appears in his light crouch punch during the beer riot, making Homer trip to the ground.
** Mr burns appear on Homer's drunken state in one throw attack and one special where the old man loses his head which is attached to homer's body
** Ned Flanders appears as a human shield in Homer's drunken state and in one of Homer's winposes, where his head is cut offscreen.
** Kang or Kodos appear in one of Homer's Riot beer mode attacks, punching the enemy while Homer suffers below the alien.
* CastFromHitPoints: Homer Simpson's "Riot of The Beer" mode. It makes all of his attacks much stronger, and gives them greater priority, but using it costs half of his remaining health.
* DivergentCharacterEvolution: He started as a spriteswap of [[VideoGame/TheKingOfFighters Iori Yagami]], but as the years progressed, he pretty much started to become his own character.
* DrunkenMaster: He can become one by drinking a giant Duff beer, which increases all his mobility and the damage he deals to his opponents at the cost of half his health bar.
* EdibleAmmunition: Most edits of him usually add him throwing a donut as an attack. Averted on Warner's version, as he notes him wasting food, especially [[TrademarkFavoriteFood donuts]] is too OutOfCharacter.
* EpicFail:
** In one of his special intros, he dresses as Iori, but he just ends up being humiliated by him.
** He attempts to intimidate the enemies in one of his regular intros, only to be revealed he was using a Face Cut-Out.
* EvilCounterpart: Warner made this as he recreated [[Recap/TheSimpsonsS4E20WhackingDay Evil Homer]] (dance included) as a separated character.
* GenderBender: If hit with [[VideoGame/{{Darkstalkers}} Midnight Bliss]], Homer turns into Barney's pin-up of him from "Simpson Tide".
* TheGunslinger: He uses his trusty gun as his principal choice to hit opponents from distance in Warner's version. In Judgespear's version, he uses his gun as a hyper attack.
* HumanShield: While in his drunken state, he forces Ned flanders to take all damage in his crotch to defend himself.
* {{Kaiju}}: He can briefly transform into [[Recap/TheSimpsonsS4E5TreehouseOfHorrorIII King Homer]] in his drunken mode as one of his normal attacks.
* KamehameHadoken: In one of the hypers of warner's version, Homer transforms into a saiyayin and launches a straight Kamehameha to the opponent.
* MovesetClone: The first versions were an almost a copy-pasted version of [[VideoGame/TheKingOfFighters Iori Yagami]] from ''VideoGame/CapcomVsSNK2MarkOfTheMillennium''. Eventually his moves were changed with the time to be more accurate to Homer, but still plays similar to Iori. Similar with Evil Homer, which plays like Evil Ken, which was originally made by Reu.
* TheRival: He is one to [[WesternAnimation/FamilyGuy Peter Griffin]], also recreated in M.U.G.E.N. by Warner, predating "[[Recap/FamilyGuyS13E1TheSimpsonsGuy The Simpsons Guy]]" by more than a decade.
* TouchOfDeath: His most powerful hyper attack transforms him into his reaper mode from [[Recap/TheSimpsonsS15E1TreehouseOfHorrorXIV Treehouse Of Horror XIV]], and can kill his opponent if his finger is touched.
* UnstoppableRage: One of his hypers, where he launches himself to the opponent.

The patriarch of the Griffin family, debuted in M.U.G.E.N the same year by the same author of Homer Simpson, and alongside him gained popularity back in the day due to making possible to recreate a battle with the two biggest animated sitcoms icons. Also, he appeared as a GuestFighter in ''VideoGame/SaturdayMorninMayhem''
----
* AbusiveParents: In his most recent updates, he uses his daughter Meg as a Human shield in his guarding pose.
* {{Animesque}}: He can briefly transform into Anime Peter in one of his specials.
* TheCameo: If he wins, he can summon Quagmire to bang the defeated opponent.
* {{Cosplay}}: Peter dresses up as [[Franchise/StreetFighter Ryu]] and [[WesternAnimation/TheLittleMermaid1989 Ariel]] in some of his special attacks.
* {{Fartillery}}: With the help of a lighter, he can create fiery farts.
* HumanShield: He tied his daughter Meg to protect himself.
* OffWithHisHead: He can cut off his opponent's head in his clown hyper if the character is compatible with it.
* OverlyLongGag: Peter's infamous gag where he sprains his knee for a long time is featured in his special intro against Homer.
* TheRival: Similar to his original counterpart, he is one to Ernie the Giant Chicken, and another one for [[WesternAnimation/TheSimpsons Homer Simpson]], both of those recreated in M.U.G.E.N. by Warner.
* RoundhouseKick: Peter performs his ''Film/RoadHouse1989'' kick, and if the opponent is hit, he stops to says the line.
* PoweredArmor: In one of his hypers he wears his armor from "[[Recap/FamilyGuyS2E7TheKingIsDead The King is Dead]]", which allows him to stun opponents before ambushing them.
* PowerUpFood: The salt that Peter eats during his Steroid Man hyper grants him temporal muscles to hit his foe hard.
* ShockAndAwe: With his footy pajamas, Peter can shock his opponents by rubbing the ground and pointing at them.
* SuperSpecialMove:
** Anal Torch: With the combination of his farts and a lighter, Peter summons a massive fire fire flame.
** Steroid Man: Peter eats salt that buffs him and launches himself towards his opponent, punching three times in a row before returning to normal.
** A.N.N.A Collider: Peter wears his armor from "[[Recap/FamilyGuyS2E7TheKingIsDead The King is Dead]]", allowing him to stun opponents before ambushing them
** Peter transforms into [=Ronald McDonald=] and slices his opponent's head with [[WesternAnimation/ThunderCats1985 the Sword of Omens]]
* TemporaryBulkChange: In one of his hypers he becomes buffier after eating salt, using his temporaly muschles to strike his opponent.
* VomitIndiscretionShot: He vomits in one of his hypers by drinking Ipecac.
* WoundedGazelleGambit: In ''VideoGame/SaturdayMorninMayhem'', he can pretend to be hurt and surprise his opponent by suddenly punching them.

!!Krusty the Clown
[[quoteright:120:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mugenkrusty.png]]
%%[[caption-width-right:120:Portrait sprited by Warner]]

Before creating Homer Simpson, Warner began his history with M.U.G.E.N. making Krusty the clown, being less known than Homer.
----
* {{Animorphism}}: Krusty transforms himself into his lion self from [[Recap/TheSimpsonsS14E1TreehouseOfHorrorXIII The Island of Doctor Hibbert]] in one of his winposes
* BreakingTheFourthWall: Before fighting, Krusty briefly announces his presence to the fourth wall
* DramaticSpotlight: Krusty sadly looks down while being in one if he ends a battle in a tie.
* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness: Even in his most recent shape, Krusty still has more a limited colour palette than most of Warner's characters.
* FightingClown: A literal example.
* GenderBender: If hit with [[VideoGame/{{Darkstalkers}} Midnight Bliss]], Krusty turns into ComicBook/HarleyQuinn.
* {{Golem}}: Krusty can summon the [[Recap/TheSimpsonsS18E4TreehouseOfHorrorXVII Golem of Prague]] to shoot up his opponents while he covers behind him.
* HumanCannonball: Krusty launches himself from a cannon in one of his hypers with the help of sideshow Mel

* PieInTheFace: One of his specials allows him to deliver one onto his opponent.
* SuperSpecialMove:
** Cannonbal: Krusty enters a cannon and launches towards the opponent wit the help of Sideshow Mel.

%%[[caption-width-right:120:Portrait sprited by Warner]]

Homer's wife and the second member of the Simpson family to be recreated in M.U.G.E.N. She has an alternate variant called Fitness Marge, where she wears sporty outfits.
----
* AnimalDisguise: Marge uses one of Sheba from ''ComicStrip/LifeInHell'' in one of her hypers where she attacks with her long ears.
* {{Animorphism}}: She briefly transforms into her panther self from in one of her special attacks from "[[Recap/TheSimpsonsS14E1TreehouseOfHorrorXIII The Island of Doctor Hibbert]]". Unlike her husband, she doesn't need to be drunk to use it.
* ClothingDamage: Suffers from this if she's defeated in the final round, as well as one of her winposes. Averted on Fitness Marge.
* DemonicPossession: Marge summons her early Tracey Ullman version of herself to possess his opponents in one of her hypers.
* FountainOfYouth: She can transform opponents with this in her witch form.
* HotterAndSexier: While Marge has been a MsFanservice here and there, she's usually pretty modest in both personality and appearance in an average ''Simpsons'' episode. Warner's iteration of her is much more proactive, with many attacks displaying an upskirt in even her most basic attacks, showing off risque cosplays in a win pose, or having her dress torn to shreds if defeated with a super move.
* InflatingBodyGag: She can inflict either this or transform into a clone of herself in one of her hypers.
* MovesetClone: Fitness Marge, which is almost identical to her but uses movements based on various sports.
* PrehensileHair: Marge uses her long beehive hairstyle in some of her normals and specials to attack her opponents.
* SuperSpecialMove: Both Marge and Fitness Marge share the same hyper attacks.
** Shopping Cart: Marge ambushes the opponent with her shopping cart.
** The old: Marge summons her early Tracey Ullman version of herself to possess his opponents who either makes them gain weight or transforms them into a Marge clone.
** I'm a Witch: Marge transforms into her witch self from [[Recap/TheSimpsonsS9E4TreehouseOfHorrorVIII Easy-Bake Coven]] and transforms the opponent into either a baby or the emoji poop in case the opponent isn't compatible with the Babality compatibility.
** Rabbit: Marge wears a Sheba suit from ComicStrip/LifeInHell and hits the opponent multiple times with her ears.

[[caption-width-right:120:"You're not the boss of me! But I'll save you anyway! It's part of the superhero code!"]]

Instead of making a regular Bart Simpson, Warner opted to make his superhero persona Bartman instead.
----
* BadassCape: Bartman can attack with his cape, use it to evade and defend him from the opponent's attacks.
* GenderBender: If hit with [[VideoGame/{{Darkstalkers}} Midnight Bliss]], Bart turns into Lisa.

* WarElephants: Bartman rides Stampy in one of his hypers to ambush his foes.
* YoureInsane: He screams this to his twin Hugo Simpson in his special intro against him.

Bart's EvilTwin from ''[[Recap/TheSimpsonsS8E1TreehouseOfHorrorVII Treehouse of Horror VII]]'' is a playable character for first time thanks to Warner, and again making him instead normal Bart as with Bartman.
----
* AdaptationalBadass:
** In his only animated appearance, he was quickly defeated by Dr. Hibbert by merely punching him, while here he seems to have defeated him offscreen in one of his intros, where he's above his corpse.
** Bart's Olmec head can summon electricity and lighting which is a huge improvement over the huge useless waste of space it is on the main series.
* {{Animorphism}}: In one of his finishing moves, Hugo transforms into a rat-kid and kills his opponent stabbing them with his tail.
* CreepyDoll: Hugo has his entire family (minus Bart) recreated in plushies, which could be seen in his intro and in some of his attacks where he uses the three bigger family members from it.
* EvilLaugh: In one of his winposes, he can performs one.
* FinishingMove: Hugo can finish his foe in the last round by stabbing him while transforming as a rat, cutting his opponent's head, or performing a kick similar to [[Franchise/StreetFighter Blanka]].
* GenderBender: If hit with [[VideoGame/{{Darkstalkers}} Midnight Bliss]], Hugo turns into a malformed version of Lisa.
* ImprobableWeaponUser: Some of Hugo's moveset involves paraphernalia saved in both the attic and the garage, such as Marge's paintings, a surfboard, or [[Recap/TheSimpsonsS2E22BloodFeud Bart's giant Olmec head]]
* {{Kaiju}}: He can transform into Hugzilla in one of his hypers
* OffWithHisHead: Can perform this as a fatality.
* SuperSpecialMove:
** Eyes on Ya/The Flaming Yawn: Hugo invokes the ancient Olmec head to either summon thunder or fire.
** Hugzilla: Hugo transforms into Hugzilla and bites his opponents three times before launching them up.

!!Kang
[[quoteright:122:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mugen_kang.png]]
%%[[caption-width-right:120:Portrait sprited by Warner]]
----
* {{BFS}}: Kang's Viking hyper allows him to attack with one of these.
* CelebrityImpersonator: Impersonates both president Obama and trump in his intros.
* CombatTentacles: Used in the majority of his attacks.
* EvilLaugh: Performs one in multiple win poses, where he can be alongside another alien, Mike, and Squirdward, or can be interrupted by his head transformed into Peabody's.
* FinishingMove: Kang has two of these, where he can either eat his opponent's head or make him disappear for good with his disintegrating gun.
* FireIceLightning: Kang's gun can attack with energy beams that can shock, freeze or burn the opponent.
* FlyingSaucer: Arrives in one of these in one of his intros.
* GenderBender:
** Inflicts this to his opponent with a special gun, in order to suck out their vitality.
** If hit with [[VideoGame/{{Darkstalkers}} Midnight Bliss]], Kang turns into an alien version of Marge.
* ImprobableWeaponUser: Interestingly, he uses a board with a single nail as a special attack, especially due to being defeated by one of those in Recap/TheSimpsonsS3E7TreehouseOfHorrorII.
* MarsNeedsWomen: Kang attempts to peacefully lure Marge and Leela into creating a half-hibrid with them in special intros, but doesn't work as they refuse, forcing him to do it by force.
* {{Ninja}}: One of his hypers allows him to kick multiple times in a row as one.
* SuperSpecialMove:
** Triple ninja kicks: Kang transforms into a ninja and performs multiple kicks in a row.
** Viking: Kang transforms into his Viking self and ambush with his giant sword
** Mass Suck: Kang's ray gun transforms the opponent into a genderbendered/feminized version of themselves, and then sucks their mass.
** Underground Tentacles: Kang's tentacles go underground, and release its sharp ends beneath the ground sharp enough to hurt opponents.

!!Burns Dracula

%%[[caption-width-right:120:Portrait sprited by Warner]]

The only case of Warner making another version of a famous Simpson character, this case for Montgomery Burns, but without having the original one made (Bartman doesn't count since he's the superhero persona of Bart). Burns Dracula is one of the cheap characters he made and the second one apart of Evil Homer.
----
* CreepyLongFingers: Burns can alter the size of his nails at will to attack his enemies.
* EvilLaugh: Performs his typical evil gloating if he wins.
* FoulFlower: One of Burn's most recent hypers is transformed into a variation of Cagney Carnation and imitates his attack.
* GenderBender: If hit with [[VideoGame/{{Darkstalkers}} Midnight Bliss]], Burns turns into [[WesternAnimation/{{Futurama}} Mom]].
* GratuitousItalian: Various of his moves are written in Italian.
* ImprobableWeaponUser: Bobo, Burn's beloved teddy bear, has been altered by him to release spikes from it when launched.
* LivingShadow: Burns can use his shadow in some of his attacks
* MovesetClone: His moveset is similar to Jedah Dohma from VideoGame/{{Darkstalkers}}
* NightOfTheLivingMooks: Burns summons his undead army to attack his opponents if he manages to catch them in one of his hypers
* ReducedToDust: If you manage to defeat him in the final round, Burns will turn into dust.
* ShoutOut: One of his most recent moves is a reference to Cagney Carnation from VideoGame/{{Cuphead}} .
* SuperSpecialMove:
** Prova Dei Cervo: Burns turns into a swarm of rats that ambush the opponent.
** Finale Rosso: Burns open a portal on the hole with the intention of trapping the opponent so they can fall and be ambushed by his evil vampire zombie army.
** Spinning Scythe: Burns launches his teddy bear Bobo to the opponent and releases spikes from it's inside upon contacting the opponent.
** Super Spreggio: Burns spits skulls from his mouth directly to the opponent.
** Plantocha: Burns transforms into Cagney Cagnation, imitating his signature dance as an attack.
* SwarmOfRats: One of his vampire powers allows him to transform into one in a hyper attack.

Cipitio is a legendary character found in Salvadoran folklore revolving around the Siguanaba and Cadejo legends. Being known more as a literary character in his native El Savador, Warner made his own version for M.U.G.E.N. being the first time this character is recreated outside local legends and literature, being unknown by most of the community and taken more as [[OriginalGeneration his own creation]] compared to the rest of his chars.

[[caption-width-right:120:"Yabba dabba doo!"]]
One of the first cartoon character Warner made along with Krusty and one of his earlier works.
----
* AdaptationalBadass: In the Flinstones, [=SuperStone=] "flew" in a show with the help of stings attached to him, while here, he can genuinely fly on his own.
* AllAnimalsAreDogs: Fred calls his pet Dino to chase the opponent similar to how an owner of a dog would do it.
* BambooTechnology: The Flintmobile is used by Fred to enter the stage before the match begins and as one of his hyper attacks.
* CarFu: Fred can run the Flintmobile against his opponents in one of his hyper attacks.
* CarryABigStick: Fred uses his trusty ancient cub in most of his attacks.
* FishOutOfTemporalWater: He's this in one of his intros as Stewie and Brian toss him out of their time-travel device.
* MistakenIdentity: An author version. Since Warner didn't make much SaturdayMorningCartoon chars, could be mistaken that Fred was made by D.D.R. instead, another M.U.G.E.N. creator who is known to make famous cartoon chars.
* SuperpoweredAlterEgo: Fred transforms into Superstone in one of his hypers, granting him the ability to fly to their opponents straight and hurt them.
* SuperSpecialMove:
** Club Swirl: Fred uses his cub to hit the opponent, then launches them away if succesfully applied.
** [=SuperStone=]: Fred flies towards the enemy, dealing damage to his foe upon contact.

* WeaponizedBall: Fred can use bowling balls to attack.

!!ComicBook/TheThing
[[quoteright:121:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/the_thing.png]]
[[caption-width-right:121:"It's clobbering time!"]]
The classic character from the ''ComicBook/FantasticFour'' is another of his earlier creations and the only one made in a different style in comparison to his other chars based on cartoons.
----
* ArtShift: He has Warner's most complex sprite art, with impressive details on them that one can think that they were ripped off from a legitimate Marvel fighting game
* GenderBender: If hit with [[VideoGame/{{Darkstalkers}} Midnight Bliss]], he turns into a smaller version of the Art/StatueOfLiberty.
* WeaponizedCar: In one of his hyper attacks, he lifts a truck and crushes it to the opponent

!!''Manga/RurouniKenshin'' chars
Before becoming famous with his ''The Simpsons'' chars, Warner was the pioneer making chars from anime from scratch and not edited from other characters, making Kenshin Himura and Makoto Shishio with moves based in the anime. Also he made an edited version of his Kenshin, his EvilCounterpart Hitokiri Battousai (aka Shinto).
----
* ArtShift: As with The Thing, Warner moved out from this style to focus only in the UsefulNotes/MSPaint we all know.
* EvilKnockoff: Hitokiri Battousai, the old murdering persona of Kenshin was made as a diferent character from Kenshin.
* GratuitousSpanish: ''Rurouni Kenshin'' received an official UsefulNotes/SpanishDubbing for Latin America and being exhibed on TV, being widely famous in TheNineties. As his other characters, Kenshin, Shishio and Battousai received voices from that dubbing in his chars.

!!VideoGame/{{Wario}}
----
* HatOfPower: Wario uses his bunny helmet to run, his viking helmet as a crouch attack and releases powerful fireballs from his dragon hat.
* PlayingWithFire: Wario can release powerfull fireballs from his dragon helmet.
* ShoutOut: His [[VideoGame/{{Darkstalkers}} Midnight Bliss]] transformation seems to be a mix between Princess Daisy and [[Anime/SpiritedAway Yubaba]].

!!Luigi
----

!![[Franchise/TheIncredibles Mr. Incredible]]
----
* EventObscuringCamera: Invoked. Mr Incredible can move the lower part of the camera and shake it to attack his opponents in one of his normal crouch attacks.
* PoppingButtons: This happens in both of his winposes, much to his dismay.

!!Elastigirl
----
* AssKicksYou: In one of her hypers she expands her booty to launch her opponents into the air.
* CoolBike: She uses her motorbike from [[WesternAnimation/Incredibles2 The Incredibles 2]] to run into her opponents, replacing a former special where she transformed into [[Franchise/{{Cars}} Lightning McQueen]].
* {{Invisibility}}: Elastigirl can summon her daughter Violet to attack her opponents out of nowhere and create force fields behind her
* RubberMan: The majority of her gameplay consists of her changing her body shape at will.

[[folder:Teaf's/Tifu's Characters]]
Five obscure characters originating in M.U.G.E.N as playable characters purely designed by Teaf: Shartel, Ferir, Rucheca, Grizela, and Harmir. They are not without haters but they are very much beloved: they are completely original creations of the author in virtually every way, boast clean and high resolution graphics except for one character in terms of sprites, and a decent amount of lovely fanservice; but, they're also furries -- which are already despised by quite a few communities, said fanservice almost borderlines on NSFW in ways uncomfortable for some players[[spoiler: (with two characters officially having explicitly NSFW fanservice)]], and they are also notorious for being massively powerful characters in the hands of an expert(s) or with the A.I. at its most powerful. They all have a combo system superior to Dragon Claw's ([[MightyGlacier even Grizela]]), perfect guards that increase their energy gauge, critical hit capacity, and a 4-bar energy gauge completely separate from the 3 bar hyper gauge that is responsible for EX Special Moves, parry shields that create a window of intangibility after performing them, combo breaker bursts, combo cancels, and Fairy Fire assists. Said AI - while capable of being lowered, is also an absolute pain to deal with on higher difficulty settings. With all of this, they are all essentially to M.U.G.E.N as [[VideoGame/StarFox Fox McCloud]] is to Super Smash Bros. Melee since they're nowhere near easy to master and they are interesting and rewarding characters for doing so. Any personal information on them can be found on the Fanatail website and Teaf's other websites (but you should at least be able to understand or translate Japanese). A future candidate to join the other girls in M.U.G.E.N is currently known as "Lazlotte/Razurotte", the devil's daughter with mismatched eyes.

A bestial, humanoid mercenary who likes to travel far and wide.
----
* AccessoryWearingCartoonAnimal
* AmazonianBeauty[=/=]StatuesqueStunner: She's the only girl shown with any form of muscle and her sprites are scaled up so that she is taller than the rest of the girls. This has made her quite tall as a result.
* AssKicksYou: Her focus attack.
* BadassAdorable: A cute {{cat girl}} lugging around a large sword and is an effective mercenary.
** {{Cute|MonsterGirl}} CatGirl: Confirmed to be this by her [[MeaningfulName Serval Lunge]] attack (for reference a serval is an African wild cat).
** CuteLittleFangs
* BarbieDollAnatomy: A few palettes invoke this, but it's ultimately subverted.
* {{BFS}}: Her weapon of choice; it's way smaller than most of the more famous examples but it's still much bigger than real swords and strong enough to create tremors.
* BigEater
* FantasticRacism: Against witches and other magical beings due to her difficulty against them when on mercenary missions. [[{{Irony}} The total opposite of her creator]].
* FriendlessBackground: Grew up in the wilderness by herself. It's said that while she's self-sufficient and self-reliant, she's a bit lonely.
* GoodScarsEvilScars: A small heroic one on her face.
* HeavySleeper
* HighPressureBlood: Her sword attacks involve this. Justified since it ''is'' a bladed weapon that she's using.
%%* [[HiredGuns Hired]] {{BFS}}
* MsFanservice: Given her creator this shouldn't be a surprise, and she's ''almost'' as much as the two others below her (Grizela and Harmir). She invokes this trope on others with her Shartel Buster if they have the compatible sprites.
** ShamelessFanserviceGirl: Grew up mostly without clothes (they were more or less a decoration to her) and ''reluctantly'' wears as much as she normally does in the presence of others.
* MusclesAreMeaningful: She'd need those muscles of hers to lug around that BFS.
* SNKBoss: Unlike the rest of the girls, she doesn't seem to have any trade offs and she is very close to being a true {{Lightning Bruiser}}.
** GoldenSuperMode: The most basic form of this trope; enhanced strength, speed, endurance, and a full Energy Gauge upon round start (formerly a constantly regenerating one) which becomes the standard for the rest of the girls to build upon for their own variations.
* TheTease: Much like Grizela in a sense based on official artwork.
* TheVoiceless: Barring voice patches.
* WalkingSwimsuitScene: She wears what looks to be a red one under her normal clothes. Midnight Bliss removes everything but said swimsuit if used on her.
* WrestlerInAllOfUs: A {{Suplex Finisher}} with a super "buster" finisher similar to Grizela's Dragon Buster.

!!Ferir/Ferill
[[quoteright:120:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ferir12.png]]
[[caption-width-right:120:楽しかったぁ、また遊ぼうね!]]

A woodland resident who while cheerful and playful is far from helpless.
----
* AccessoryWearingCartoonAnimal: Her head accessories.
* AssKicksYou: Her focus attack that she can perform in midair (with different properties).
* AuthorAvatar: That guy that she can summon in battle as a hyper move? ''That'' would be Teaf ([[MesACrowd or one of them to be precise]]). She happens to be good friends with him.
* BadassAdorable: [[KillerRabbit Very capable of fighting like the others]] and she's decidedly the {{token mini moe}} of the group.
** {{Cute|MonsterGirl}} [[BunniesForCuteness Bunny Girl]]
** CuteLittleFangs
* BratsWithSlingshots: Dual/Sling Shot has her pull out one such item and fire a seed or two at her opponents. Dual Shot is slower to fire than Sling Shot but covers more area by virtue of firing two seeds.
* DishingOutDirt: [[AHandfulForAnEye She kicks sand/dust at enemies]] for Dust Splash, kind of like [[VideoGame/{{Darkstalkers}} Felicia]]. She can also kick around her Vine Trap seed attack this way.
* FragileSpeedster: Not to the extent of Harmir below her but she fits the bill perfectly.
* GroundPound: A stall-then-fall foot dive.
* HalfDressedCartoonAnimal: She's of the ''Bare-Bottomed'' type, but she's covered in thick fur from her hips down that makes her look less fanservicey than she is (a ''huge'' step up from the ''other'' HalfDressedCartoonAnimal).
* MsFanservice: Almost completely inverted. Barring her ''open vest'' and how she's in no way flat-chested in spite of her small stature (with minor boob shots from below or the sides), she has '''''no''''' NSFW artwork to her name unlike the rest of the girls; the closest to NSFW she's gotten in official art is bending over with fully covered-up lower body facing the screen.
** {{Stripperific}}: Played straight with the open vest and lack of bottomwear (not that she really needs to for the latter with the fur she has) but subverted for her Midnight Bliss outfit which gives her a normal looking dress. Either way she's decidedly less so than the others.
* MusclesAreMeaningful: You've read the FragileSpeedster entry right?
* NatureLover: It should be obvious just by looking at her and her moveset.
** GreenThumb: Of the moves that aren't kick or scratch based, they utilize plants to a small extent (Vine Trap - a seed laid down for unsuspecting opponents, and Spirit of Fanatail Forest).
** NatureSpirit: Her other hyper move that [[AuthorAvatar Teaf]] summons. This one is the spirit of the Fanatail Forest called Yggdrasil and is Ferir's most powerful summon: [[HealThyself it heals Ferir while it is out]] (a rarity for fighting games) and attacks her opponents with sharp roots protruding from the ground.
* OlderThanTheyLook: She's actually an adult herself, [[ChildHater and she rather dislikes being around kids for too long]] (in a non-villainous manner).
* PrimalFear [[FearOfThunder of Thunder]]
* RascallyRabbit: She is described as mischievous. [[WesternAnimation/BugsBunny Sounds like another bunny we know]].
* SNKBoss: Very much like Harmir below thanks to similar playstyles. She is unbelievably fast in movement and attacking speed, therefore one will have a hard time trying to wait for an opening or trying to chase her down, and Yggdrasil [[GoodThingYouCanHeal heals her as long as she is out]] (a rarity for fighting games) and attacks on her behalf.
** GoldenSuperMode: Strengthened attacks, speed, and endurance, a full Energy Gauge at the start of a match, permanently active Magic Fang and Vampiric Claw, [[OhCrap Yggdrasil shows up at the start of the fight and attacks sparsely before the big move]], she's got it made for her.
* StatusBuff: Two of them that only work for her scratch attacks; Magic Fang - a buff that slightly increases her base damage output but vastly increases the damage she does to blocking foes, and [[VampiricDraining Vampiric Claw]] - a buff that drains Hyper energy from her opponents.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Tree nuts.
* TheVoiceless: Barring voice patches.
* WolverineClaws: She possesses a moveset that is made for extensive usage of her scratch based attacks.

A magess who hails from a Fanatail Magic Academy and her magic is second to none.
----
* {{Ambiguously|Human}} TokenHuman[=/=]CuteMonsterGirl: Thanks to [[PointyEars her ears]] [[CuteLittleFangs and her fangs]], we're not sure what she is. She could be a mutated human, but it's highly likely that she's not (probably an [[OurElvesAreDifferent elf]] given her powerful affinity with magic).
** OurDemonsAreDifferent: While other high-level magicians are content with pulling rare creatures from other worlds to serve as their "championing demon", Rucheca prefers looking for alternate realities to find another version of herself to serve the same role. Whether this makes her a very human-looking demon or not is up for grabs.
* AttackReflector: One of her specials is a quick mirror of ice that reflects projectiles (the EX variation lasts much longer). God help the poor soul who fired multiple projectiles at her.
* BadassAdorable: The best mage in all of Fanatail period. Cute to boot too.
* BarbieDollAnatomy: Subverted in her original palettes and in general but it can be invoked.
* BerserkButton: {{Hot blooded}} men get no sympathy from her and piss her off very easily]]. Grizela appears to also trigger a few others often when they argue and fight.
* BigOlEyebrows: Smaller than Grizela's but bigger than the rest's.
* [[DoesNotLikeSpam Does Not Like Milk]]: This might be explained by being lactose intolerant.
* FireIceLightning
* GrinOfAudacity: She does this in her intro (a look that sums her up perfectly) and also when she inflicts Mystic Illusion on her enemies.
* LesbianVampire: No official word on her sexual orientation or her species, but she gives off the impression thanks to one little detail, her Mystic Illusion attack; it is her equivalent of [[VideoGame/{{Darkstalkers}} Demitri Maximoff's Midnight Bliss]] to the letter (all while she smiles at her handiwork).[[note]]For those who don't know what that means, Midnight Bliss is a grab Super Move that transforms males into attractive females and makes natural females even more attractive while draining health from the victim. Mystic Illusion does ''exactly'' this.[[/note]]
* MagicMissileStorm: Her ultimate attack named Elemental Storm defines this trope and it hits ''everyone'' on the screen (like Pokemon's earthquake).
** AwesomeButImpractical[=/=]DifficultButAwesome: zig-zags between the two tropes. Getting to pull off this move is generally a pain and as such it is often used as a last resort; to get the elemental buffs one hyper bar must be sacrificed, and there are ''three'' elemental buffs, meaning an entire hyper gauge must be consumed, and the move itself takes one hyper bar to execute in addition to the buffs you've activated. Four hyper bars in total must be used up for this move, performing the move leaves you vulnerable for an attack, and while Rucheca can charge her hyper gauge and get the energy she needs doing this is quite a chore. This is compensated of course by dealing massive damage and must be either blocked or dodged since it hits the entire screen. In her GoldenSuperMode though, it is far less impractical and/or difficult by any measure and is straight-up overpowered to where it is virtually a OneHitKill every time.
* MsFanservice: [[{{Stripperific}} She shows quite a lot of skin by default even with her mage robes on]], and her other palettes zig-zag between even more revealing and somewhat modest (at best it'll look like she's wearing a painted-on spandex suit). Her Midnight Bliss outfit had gone from simply removing her mage robes to a high-cut pajama shirt to the traditional sailor fuku. She also invokes fanservice on others by way of her Mystic Illusion hyper Move.
** FanservicePack: Rucheca was smaller in her earlier sprites and looked pretty stylized, but she has recently been made to look older, taller, and thinner if only by a little (making her physique look proportionately closer to humans). It's also about this time that she's become more Gainaxy than usual and her Midnight Bliss state was changed from simply removing everything but her bikini to the high cut pajama shirt (even though the pajama shirt ended up getting changed).
** FullFrontalAssault[=/=]NakedInMink: [[spoiler:She ditches her bikini while keeping her outer mage robe articles on her, exposing her intimates to the elements yet still being more clothed than everyone else. Go find it if you want.]][[note]][[GuideDangIt If you]] ''[[GuideDangIt can't]]'' [[GuideDangIt find it]], it's [[spoiler:at x.fanatail.com. Obviously NSFW, so look at your own discretion.]][[/note]]
* MusclesAreMeaningful: How about having ''no'' physical attacks and being thinner than the rest (barring Ferir)? She's said to dislike both gym class and training camp (which would explain a lot).
* TheNapoleon: C'mon, look at her; she practically screams this trope. She's the second shortest of the girls, is insecure about her height, and is very ill-tempered (though a recent sprite revamp made her a bit taller).
* {{Pride}}: She fits this bill for good reason. Rucheca is described as among the best (if not the best) magi in a very prestigious magic academy which happens to have magi from all over Fanatail. This got to the point where fellow top-class magi and even some of the instructors were scared of her vast magic potential. Her potency of magic include buffs to her already powerful magic that do not disappear over time, the power to unleash a brutal maelstrom of fire, lightning, and ice, the ability to steal lifeforce and energy from others, and she can completely alter another person's entire look or even their biological sex. This has gone to her head, becoming incredibly arrogant as a result and pointing her nose down at everyone else, making it quick and easy for her to make enemies.
** SmugSmiler: A frequent offender of this trope, sometimes pointing her pointer finger upwards in a mocking gesture.
* RegeneratingMana: One that fills up the Energy Gauge ''and'' the Hyper Gauge.
* SNKBoss: For a magical and projectile oriented user it is surprising that she ends up as one of these. She has a superior zoning game that is outright infuriating to deal with and she can spam her special moves at an alarming frequency.
** GoldenSuperMode: Give her raw damage and speed boosts, take her elemental status buffs and increase their potency even further, including permanent magic buffs, the ability to regain her own health, and a full Energy Gauge going in, and you have a ''magical'' [[Franchise/DragonBall Super Saiyan]].
* StatusBuff: An attunement for each element (the ice attunement in particular allows Rucheca to randomly freeze her opponents solid) and they shave off half of the required energy to use EX Special Moves. And while they don't disappear overtime, her strongest attack depletes them completely. She also has Frozen Orb - a defensively-oriented one that she can cast on herself and/or her teammate.
* TheRival: Shown to be one with Grizela in [[http://www.pixiv.net/member_illust.php?mode=medium&illust_id=12672264 this piece of official art]]. According to Teaf the two of them fight often over a lot of things and don't like each other much.
* TeleportSpam: Rucheca teleports instead of dashing (she hates dashing) which can become pretty annoying considering her difficulty. She can even do this in the air and has an EX variation of all things. And yes, all versions are spammable.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Any sweets and fruit will suffice to her.
* VampiricDraining: Her ''normal ground grab'' does this (stealing hyper energy gauge to rub salt in the wounds further) and so does her Mystic Illusion hyper as stated above. Unlike Ferir she can naturally do this (as in without any buffs).
* TheVoiceless: Barring voice patches.
* WalkingSwimsuitScene: Rucheca wears her swimsuit at all times underneath her mage clothing (which can look different depending on the palette used). By itself it used to be her Midnight Bliss outfit.
* [[WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes Why did it Have to be Bugs?]]

A humanoid dragon(?) with a sky-high pride and the physical prowess to match it.
----
* AssKicksYou: Just her focus attack.
* BigOlEyebrows: Although not as large as most examples, it's especially noticeable.
* TheBrute: Finesse and grace do not exist in her fighting vocabulary, throwing out simple yet powerful attacks. She notably cannot combo as much as the others but her combo game is easier to maintain in comparison. Also, she's not a particularly apt thinker herself.
* TheCoatsAreOff: She tosses off her cloak before beginning a fight (likely a nod to Zangief).
* CuteMonsterGirl: In comparison to the other girls (who are moe) Grizela ditches the cuteness look and goes straight for sex appeal. She's aware of her status as this, taking pride [[CounterAttack and advantage]] of that fact too.
* DishingOutDirt: Megalith Crusher is an advancing crush attack with Grizela holding a huge rock in her hands. Megalith Throw is where Grizela tosses said rock instead.
* {{Expy}}: Seems like a mix of Zangief and Birdie in terms of gameplay and movelists, having a few command grabs like the two and showing an affinity for headbutts like the latter.
* FullFrontalAssault: [[spoiler:An official patch has her fight ''completely naked''. Find it yourself if you can.]][[note]]If you ''[[GuideDangIt can't]]'' find it, it's [[spoiler:at x.fanatail.com. Obviously NSFW, so look at your own discretion.]][[/note]]
* GoldenSuperMode: Give her the full Energy Gauge starting a fight, buff up all of her stats to make her dish out ludicrous amounts of damage all around that can potentially go into {{one hit kill}} territory with critical hits, and allow her to refill her own health via the power charge, and you have yourself a golden monster girl-shaped juggernaut.
* GroundPound: [[ShapedLikeItself Dragon Stamp]]; it causes tremors that is pretty far reaching.
* HoistByTheirOwnPetard: Hitting Grizela in the middle of her Cruel Headbutt will tack on more damage for her to deal to her opponent once she hits them.
* MightyGlacier: She is the strongest physical attacker between the five (with only [[GoldenSuperMode her gold version]] topping her), but is the slowest and heaviest character; the ground itself ''shakes'' every time she lands, she doesn't have an extra jump function like the rest, her airdash gives her the shortest distance out of everyone else's and back when multiple airdashes existed she only had one, and her dashes are short hops rather than constant forward movement (or teleporting in Rucheca's case).
* MsFanservice: Her general attire, Dragon Busters, and her Midnight Bliss outfit.[[spoiler: [[SerialEscalation She takes the trope up to ''twelve'' with her nude SFF and her other official art]].]]
* OurDragonsAreDifferent: And while she is not a giant, winged, fire-breathing monstrosity covered in scales (and her being a dragon is ambiguous), she is still an awesome draconic figure nonetheless.
* {{Pride}}: She fits this bill and for good reason. Grizela is the self-proclaimed "strongest dragon alive", and she can back up that boast and more. She will expect others to respect the dragon race and is pretty condescending as a whole (though not as bad as Rucheca). [[Franchise/DragonBall Vegeta]] would be an especially good male counterpart for her, especially considering the Super Saiyan and Golden Palette parallels.
* ProfessionalWrestling: She ''oozes'' this, being a grappling based fighter with her most powerful techniques involving grabbing the opponent with 360 degree motions. She also has three different body slam attacks to make her more like a professional wrestler.
* RegeneratingHealth: She will slowly start regaining her health if it falls below 200.
* RegeneratingMana: One that fills up the Hyper Gauge. [[StandardPowerUpPose Looks like she's learning a few pointers from the]] [[Franchise/DragonBall Z Fighters]].
* TheRival: Shown to be one toward Rucheca in [[http://www.pixiv.net/member_illust.php?mode=medium&illust_id=12672264 this piece of official art]]. According to Teaf the two of them fight often over a lot of things and don't like each other much.
* SNKBoss: Not as much as the crowning number one example right below her but she still counts. The fact that she deals high amounts of damage to her enemies and more than most other characters made to this day makes her a dangerous foe to fight (critical hits are also in play for all girls, making Grizela that much more dangerous). Despite her low mobility she has little issue closing the distance or keeping foes at bay thanks to her tremor-inducing hip drop, her two headbutt specials, and her Megalith moves that force opponents to predict her next action. And while slow(er than the rest), her dashes grant her invincibility as she crosses over to the other side of her opponent while close to them.
* SpinningPiledriver: She can do this just much like the more famous practitioners of the move but with a small [[{{Pun}} twist]], she goes ''upside-down'' once on the way ''up''.
* {{Stripperific}}: Her default outfit. Her Midnight Bliss outfit is this in volumes as it's just two belts barely managing to cover her naughty bits.
* SuperScream: Her Dragon Roar hyper is a short ranged and powerful shout that blows away anything near her.
* SuplexFinisher: Her specialty. And she invokes {{Fanservice}} on compatible characters with her Dragon Buster (including [[MirrorMatch herself]] and the other girls).
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: If there's one thing her pride cannot protect herself against, it's melons (heh). This is so much that if you give her any she'll listen to whatever you have to say.
* UseYourHead: She has this as a strong punch and as two special moves (Brutal Charge which is a dashing headbutt and Cruel Headbutt which is a stationary headbutt, and they're both armored).
* VocalDissonance: One common modified distribution that edited out her clothes [[spoiler:[[EasterEgg before it was done officially]]]] also gave her the voice of ''a little girl'', oddly.
* TheVoiceless: Barring voice patches.
* WalkingSwimsuitScene: Her attire is a bikini, most likely to not hinder her much when she brawls.

!!Harmir/Hamiru
[[quoteright:120:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/harmir.png]]
[[caption-width-right:120:ファナテイルにお越しの際は、ハルピュイア魔法店をよろしくね!]]

A humanoid harpy who is the poster-girl and security guard of a harpy magic shop.
----
* AccessoryWearingCartoonAnimal: Her hairclips. She also likes accessories (magical variants too) in general.
* AssKicksYou: She has a focus attack and, as one would expect of her, she can do it midair.
* AuthorAppeal: Teaf seems to favor her considering that her introductory character video is more descriptive and longer than the others, being the best character to play as between the five, is advertised more than the others, and she has more official art compared to the rest. She's also the {{mascot}} of Teaf's/Fanatail's twitter account.
* BadassAdorable: She kicks the ass of those who mess with her shop or whenever, and she looks cute doing it too.
* CuteMonsterGirl
** CuteLittleFangs
** HarpingOnAboutHarpies: She happens to be one of the cute examples thankfully.
* BarbieDollAnatomy: Invoked with Harmir's various palettes but ultimately subverted with official art.
* BerserkButton: Theft in her shop [[MaliciousSlander or slandering it period]] is a guaranteed way of pissing her off [[CurbStompBattle and earning a subsequent ass-whooping]].
* BlowYouAway: Two attacks: Twirl Blast - a giant purple tornado which travels slowly and doesn't go far but has insane vertical coverage while hitting multiple times, and Crescent Gale - a pink crescent shaped wave kicked into the air that can be performed anywhere and also hits multiple times.
* DesperationAttack: While her Sky Ruler hyper move isn't exactly a desperation attack (it can be performed normally like other hypers), it does more damage the lower Harmir's health is.
* DifficultButAwesome: As with other SNK Bosses, it is not that easy to pull off her combos; she's really difficult to master to compensate for how insane she is, but she is incredibly worth it.
* DoesNotLikeSpam: She does not like spicy food.
* {{Expy}}: Gameplay-wise she's a mixture of Elena and Chun-Li from Franchise/StreetFighter, [[KickChick exclusively using kicks for unarmed attacks]] [[ExtremityExtremist since her wings can't attack themselves]]. She even has her own [[RapidFireFisticuffs Lightning Leg]] expy dubbed "Wild Pecker", and just like those two she has a nice pair [[MusclesAreMeaningful of toned legs on her]].
* FeatherFingers: {{Averted|Trope}} and summarily {{deconstructed|trope}}; her wings are ''just'' [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin wings]], and this causes problems to the point that she has to ask someone ([[ImpliedLoveInterest usually her boss]]) to help her get dressed. They're also the direct reason she is a [[KickChick kicking-based]] {{extremity extremist}}.
* FeatherFlechettes: She ''can'' however fire off three of her feathers enchanted with magic to turn them into projectiles called "Luminous Feather". Almost in lieu of her wings being useless for direct attacks, the projectiles are short-lived and - while covering three different directions in front of Harmir and repeatedly hit her opponents, don't go particularly far. They do stilt the opponent'(s)' ability to gain more power for they hyper gauge. The EX Variation does not disappear at all however and hits the opponent(s) many times while pushing them away from Harmir.
* FullFrontalAssault: [[spoiler:She decides to ditch her small bra too in an official patch -- see if you can find it]].[[note]] If you ''[[GuideDangIt can't]] find it, it's [[spoiler:at x.fanatail.com ]]-- Obviously NSFW, so look at your own discretion.[[/note]]
* FragileSpeedster: She is faster and more agile than even Ferir but her damage output is particularly low outside of her Super Moves, meaning she has to string long combos to do high damage unlike most of the other girls. She has the option to increase her power with her "Eagle Heart" buff when available.
* GroundPound: This comes up as a stall-then-fall foot dive and Sky Ruler's finisher is one of two variations: a foot dive or a butt stomp.
* HalfDressedCartoonAnimal: Of the ''bare-bottomed'' variety. Unlike Ferir whose fur does a great deal on effectively concealing her intimates and sort of looking like furry pants, Harmir's feathers from the waist down look much closer to form-fitting spandex: her ass-cheeks are clearly visible and her Cleft of Venus often shows through her patch of pubic feathers. Official art sometimes goes as far to have her ''anus'' visible...
* ImpliedLoveInterest: She talks about her boss quite a bit, they're on her "likes list", and doesn't mind when they're the ones helping her get dressed, so...
* KungFuWizard: Her fighting style is an effective synthesis of unarmed physical and magical combat prowess. As noted above her arms are just wings so they're relegated for movement so Harmir's legs pick up the slack double time, using them in a very quick-paced style for physical attacks and sometimes enhancing them with magic energy. Magic-wise, she is capable of phasing in and out of the battlefield with her "Follow Wind" buff under certain palettes and is capable of utilizing three different projectile spells and activating two different buffs ("Follow Wind" which generally gives her a speed boost and the aforementioned phasing out boost and "Eagle Heart" which gives her a raw power increase). [[FridgeBrilliance Seeing as how she works in a magic shop and is shown to exercise often this wouldn't be far off the mark at all]].
* {{Mascot}}: In-universe, she's not only the poster girl for a harpy magic shop within Fanatail that she works for, she's ''the'' persistent security guard there. Out-of-universe, she serves as Teaf's/Fanatail's avatar on Twitter.
* MsFanservice: Her default look is ''highly'' {{stripperific}} with a bra the size of Rucheca's and the aforementioned bottomlessness with occasional vagina and anus shots, making her more revealing than ''Grizela''. The only other thing she's shown wearing outside of her Midnight Bliss state is a very loose apron with no bra underneath (her ''work'' clothes presumably). Sky Ruler's finishing blow's portrait lets the player know exactly what Harmir's point of appeal is.[[spoiler: Last but not least, she can fight topless too. ]]Of course, she's not as overall fanservicey as the number one example above her. The type of fanservice girl she qualifies as is either of the two tropes below.
** InnocentFanserviceGirl: She has no problems standing in her birthday suit and asking others to help her get dressed, although this is mainly because it's impossible ''to'' get dressed without FeatherFingers. However...
** ShamelessFanserviceGirl: She generally gives off this impression based on the above standing around naked waiting for others to dress her, being the most revealing of Teaf's characters by far[[spoiler: without nude patches involved]], swinging her legs around as much and as wide apart from each other as she does including numerous vertical splits in her opponent'(s)' direction, and[[spoiler: she can fight topless with both of her portraits giving her a smile on her face as opposed to the more serious look she has with her normal ones]].
* PimpedOutDress: Using Midnight Bliss (or any variation of the move thereof) puts an extremely fancy and conservative Victorian-era dress on her.
* PrimalFear: She's afraid of the dark.
* RainRainGoAway: She's not fond of rain. If you remember birds' problems of flying when damp, this would be justified. That and she doesn't wear that much clothing anyways, meaning she'd get soaked.
* SNKBoss: ''[[PrecisionFStrike Holy Fucking Hell]]'', Harmir with the highest A.I. is just one of the absolute crowned winners of this trope in M.U.G.E.N, ''period'', and she's ''not'' a character who outright cheats or is completely broken from the get-go. She has effective counters against virtually anything thrown against her and she's the only character between the five of them all capable of ''zero-to-death combos even in her base form''.
** GoldenSuperMode: She'd do the [[Franchise/DragonBall Super Saiyans]] proud with her enhanced strength and speed, permanently active status buffs boosting her raw stats even further, and a regenerating Energy Gauge sky rocketing her into nigh-untouchable, nigh-unstoppable territory.
* StatusBuff: Her boots are also stated to grant the user boosts to their power and speed. Said boosts are "Eagle Heart" and "Follow Wind" respectively.
* TeleportSpam: She has access to a teleport move with several followups that are different on the ground and in the air. You can guess how that will go. Her dashes make her go ''[[{{Invisibility}} invisible]]'' when she's using "Follow Wind" and a special palette and she can't be hit either, essentially turning into this trope.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Lemonade and parfaits.
* TheVoiceless: Barring voice patches.
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: Oh the irony.
* WorkoutFanservice: She fits this to a T with her portraits, her introduction animation, and her taunt having her do vertical splits (i.e. doing the splits while standing on one leg). [[FridgeBrilliance No wonder her legs are so fit; she must work out often (and she'd have to in order to guard her store)]].
* WrestlerInAllOfUs: A special move grab and its counter follow-up both result in some body slam.
