An anime by Creator/A1Pictures and directed by [[Anime/Kite1998 Yasuomi Umetsu]], which started airing on Creator/{{noitaminA}} during the Fall 2013 Anime Season.

It is TwentyMinutesIntoTheFuture, and while our planet is still aesthetically familiar, HumongousMecha are now commonplace, and are used by both terrorist groups and the international authorities to capture specific targets.

The story follows the Ferrari sisters, Hazuki, Kazuki, and Hozuki, often referred to as the "Galileo Girls" or the "Galileo Sisters". [[HistoricalCharactersFictionalRelative All three girls are descended]] from the legendary astronomer and inventor Galileo Galilei. It is for this reason that they are now being targeted for kidnapping by multiple criminal organizations, seemingly because they possess "Galileo's Inheritance."

!!This Series Contains Examples of:

* AlliterativeFamily: Rhyming, to be precise. Hazuki, Kazuki, Hozuki.
* TheBadGuysAreCops: Or at least the Italian police are in the true villains' pockets.
* BeethovenWasAnAlienSpy: Galileo was involved in an AncientConspiracy to hide an artifact of some sort, which {{Sky Pirate}}s and an evil energy corporation are frantically fighting over. [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking He was also obsessed with goldfish, apparently.]]
* BrickJoke: When hungry Hazuki asks if Kazuki has some candy, she claims she doesn't have any. At the end of the episode, she gives a piece to Hozuki, saying she'd better take it before Hazuki does.
* ButNotTooForeign: While the important part of the Galileo Sisters' heritage is Italian, they're Japanese on their father's side.
* [[spoiler:TheCallKnowsWhereYouLive: Both parents are incapacitated at the end of episode 2, and the girls are forced to escape their antagonist-infested hometown in Hozuki's mecha-goldfish.]]
* ChildhoodFriends: Theo and Karen, the kids Hozuki befriends in the 5th episode, who are that kind of ''[[ChildhoodFriendRomance childhood friends]]''. [[spoiler:Unfortunately it ended [[TogetherInDeath tragically]].]]
* ChromaticArrangement: Hazuki is yellow, Kazuki is blue, and Hozuki is red.
%%* CorruptCorporateExecutive: Adni Moon seems run by these.
* CreditsRunningSequence: The opening does this with several characters.
* DeusExMachina: The ending is rather guilty of this, as the majority of the conflicts in the series are either resolved offscreen or [[WhatHappenedToTheMouse at all]].
* DroppedABridgeOnHim: [[spoiler:The end of episode 2 reveals that the girls' mom was shot in the head offscreen. She survives with her knowledge and skills in tact, but does not remember her family and is under the complete control of her captors. Their dad was on the run.]]
* DysfunctionalFamily: [[spoiler:Divorced]] and bickering parents, alcoholic Law School flunkie oldest daughter, class-skipping EmoTeen middle child, youngest kid locking herself in a basement creating weapons of mass destruction without her parents' knowledge...
* GetBackToTheFuture: [[spoiler:What Hozuki is trying to do as of the end of Episode 9, since she's TrappedInThePast and needs to go back and save her sisters.]]
* TheGoodTheBadAndTheEvil: The Ferrari family, Cicinho with his sky pirates and the Adni Moon Company respectively.
* GrievousBottleyHarm: Anna deals with the man going after Hazuki with a wine bottle to his head.
* GroinAttack: Kazuki gets away from her first pursuer like this.
* HeelFaceRevolvingDoor: As in Episode 8, [[spoiler:Anna seems to be going to hit this.]]
* HumongousMecha: Both the regular kind and the flying goldfish kind.
* ItWorksBetterWithBullets: Taken a step further. After Hazuki gets Cicinho's gun away from him and threatens him with it, he nonchalantly points out that [[spoiler:it was never loaded in the first place]].
* KangarooCourt: [[spoiler:The "trial" in the final episode is shown to be quite blatantly rigged in Adni Moon's favor.]]
* LaserGuidedKarma: Hazuki gives some of their limited supply of food to a homeless man. He turns out to have built a "mini-doctor," which he [[ChekhovsGun uses later]] to [[spoiler:save Hozuki's life after she falls off a building. He also has the moon sketch they were looking for, and gives it to them for free, since they gave him a chance to redeem himself for failing to finish the doctor device quickly enough to save his sick daughter.]] It's like laser-guided karma dominoes!
** Episode 11 has [[spoiler: the Adni Moon company being outed for having framed them and their attacks on other Methane Hydrate providers.]]
* LaughablyEvil: Cicinho appears to have gone into piracy not for the treasure but [[ForTheEvulz for teh lulz]].
%%* LinkedListClueMethodology
* TheMenInBlack: The would-be kidnappers in the first episode appear to be this.
* MacGuffin: Galileo's inheritance, or the "Galileo Tesoro" as Anna calls it. None of the heroes even know what it is, but all the baddies are determined to steal it from them.
* MegaCorp: Adni Moon has a near total monopoly in the energy business
* MillionToOneChance: Inverted? Grande Rosso takes control of the ship away from Hozuki when she tries to [[spoiler:save Theo and Karen]] because there was a 99.8% chance they would be shot down.
* NebulousCriminalConspiracy: One of these has formed around the goal of acquiring "Galileo's inheritance" for some unknown purpose. Practically everyone they meet in their hometown seems to be involved. [[spoiler:Even the police are in on it.]]
* NoSympathy: After all three girls are nearly kidnapped, all their mother does is lecture them for the umpteenth time about how they aren't living up to their heritage.
* OppositesAttract: The girls' parents. Mom is a strict-nanny-like engineer; Dad is a kindhearted scientist who dresses like a hippie. [[spoiler:Subverted: they're divorced.]]
* PoliceAreUseless: The cops do make an effort to stop the bad guys, presumably. But they're effortlessly brushed aside offscreen. Then it turns out that [[spoiler:they're working with the villains.]]
* PoweredArmor: Hozuki's is modeled after a goldfish.
%%* PrivateMilitaryContractors: Roberto is technically one
%%* ScrewTheRulesIHaveMoney
* SlouchOfVillainy: After he and his crew [[CuttingTheKnot blow up the front door]], Cicinho helps himself to one of the Ferraris' lounge chairs.
* SkyPirate: They're so widespread and dangerous that passenger aircraft apparently don't exist.
* TheSparkOfGenius: Galileo's engineering ability is not only genetic, but apparently has a [[TeenGenius ratcheting]] [[HumongousMecha effect]].
* StableTimeLoop: [[spoiler:The love poems in Galileo's sketches? They are about ''Hozuki''.]]
** [[spoiler:Not to mention, Galileo gets his goldfish obsession from Hozuki, and is inspired to study the Galileo Tesoro due to Hozuki telling him about the energy crisis in the future.]]
* TermsOfEndangerment: Cicinho quickly takes to calling Hazuki ''bambina'', Italian for 'babe', in order to annoy her.
* ThoseMagnificentFlyingMachines: That they're called ''skyfish'' should give you a clue to the primary aesthetic.
* TimeTravel: [[spoiler:Hozuki gets sent to the past, where she meets her famous ancestor Galileo.]]
* TimeTravelRomance: [[spoiler:Possibly, if the love poems in Galileo's sketches happen to be about Hozuki. [[MyOwnGrandpa Which could open another can of worms.]]]]
* TransformingMecha: The actual mechas don't do this, but Hozuki's scooter can transform into a "stun gun" [[ThereIsNoKillLikeOverkill capable of frying a car-sized robot]] and the Galileo has an 'assault mode'.
* UnusuallyUninterestingSight: Not a single person freaks out over the fact that Hozuki is being chased down by a strange aircraft, despite the fact that it's flying below buildings in streets that are too narrow for cars and lined with residential town houses. Weirdly, the locals ''do'' take notice when a giant airship shows up later.
* ViewersAreGoldfish: Don't worry about forgetting these three are descendants of Galileo. The show makes sure to remind you about every 3 sentences.
** It gets better as the show goes on. By the eighth episode, it is not mentioned once.
* VillainousCrush: Cicinho seems to really like his ''Bambina''.
* VillainsOutShopping: Cicinho wants to keep the Ferraris' interrogation short - the prelims for the World Cup are airing soon.
* WeWillMeetAgain: Cicinho declares this with tongue planted firmly in cheek.
* WhamEpisode: Episode 9. [[spoiler:Hozuki gets accidentally sent to the past, she meets the real Galileo Galilei, and she's stuck there.]]
* [[WhatHappenedToTheMouse What Happened To The Goldfish?]]: Hozuki retrieves her goldfish from the wreckage after the first battle. She gets interrupted while looking for a new tank for it, and the whole issue is suddenly forgotten.
** Shown to be alive and well in Episode 9. [[spoiler: There was actually nothing to fear for because it's a robot.]]
* WrenchWench: Hozuki actually carries wrenches around with her. And uses them to build some pretty crazy stuff, most notably an airship shaped like a goldfish.
* WriteBackToTheFuture: [[spoiler: Galileo's sketches contain messages to Hozuki, whom he has deduced to be a traveler from another era, including instructions for synthesizing the mysterious substance in her hourglass thing.]]
