Capsarc: I originated the Hollow Bastion is Time Compression theory, but I had forgotten about the characters on other worlds. The alternative theory is interesting, but I think that the clones and the shapeshifting fairies are too much reaching considering that we haven't actually seen clones or shapeshifting fairies, and Leon has to come from Hollow Bastion, because he referred to it as his childhood home. Perhaps Tidus, Wakka and Selphie are anomalies of Time Compression, Setzer, Vivi and Seifer & Co were blown into main/Another Dimension and the Gullwings... okay, that's where it kinda falls apart.
Does anybody have another explanation for the alternate Final Fantasy characters?
Author-Man: Alternate versions? I'm of the school that believes there is no real FF canon to speak of (barring the damn spin-offs of 7, and also X-2). So... yeah. They're about as related to the originals as the Disney characters are; name and a bit of plot.
Except Auron.
Also, I really did spend a lot of time and put a lot of thought into that whole 'Axel/Rikku' thing.
- Incidentally, that would have made a fun game, just playing the three of them — switch to whomever plays most to your tastes or whichever needs the most control against the current boss. No need for Funny Animals, and Riku and Kairi would have to have better stats than lame-ass Donald and Goofy.

- Also, Roxas was older than Castle Oblivion- he was "born" back during the events of Kingdom Hearts One, when Sora stabbed himself with Riku's blade. A more likely possibility is that 358 days is how long he was in the Organization.

- To be honest, this troper really couldn't see ANY canon in the Kingdom Hearts universe whatsoever, as far as the Final Fantasy characters go. Seriously. The characters are similar to their namesakes for the simple fact that fans would crucify Square if they altered them in any way (a notable exception being the chibi Gullwings, though their obsession with treasure-hunting and cutesy girly personalities were simply exaggerated in KH 2). Radiant Gardens exists solely as a worlds for these characters to call home, without creating major continuity errors in Disney movies (and seeing that it's Disney, I believe that they would prefer keeping their worlds as true to the movies as possible, with three 'heroes' barging in and helping out.
...well, that's nice and you're completely entitled to your opinion, but a plain old "I disagree with this!" doesn't really belong on the page.
It's called WILD MASS GUESSING for a reason. Sure, it'll (probably) never be canon that whoever is from a non-Disney, non-FF world, but there is ABSOLUTELY NO REASON to comment on someone's theory saying it can't be true simply because of that. There's nothing within the games themselves that outright says that there are no non-Disney, non-FF (and non-original-for-KH) worlds; we don't know EXACTLY how many worlds there are or what those worlds are. It's just that the ones we've SEEN are Disney.
Pig_catapult: Since Days has come out, would it be prudent to, well, prune out some of the outdated/Jossed trees in this epileptic orchard? Or at least move them or put them in a folder (can we do that with WMG headers?) or make subpages(can we do that for WMG pages?) or something. This page is very cluttered, and a good deal of the theories can be clustered by topic: Speculation about future releases, the Nature of Nobodies debate, the Final Fantasy theories, the crossover and joke theories, all of those could probably have either their own pages or be put under a folder.
