Tanto: Bleh, I was hoping to get my entry for the whole Tales Series up before we started in on the individual installments. But I can't finish it right now, because I've got Real Life crap to take care of.

Caphi: Why do most of the trope examples scattered around the wiki treat the fact that Symphonia is a prequel to Phantasia as a spoiler? It doesn't exactly ruin either of the stories.

Tanto: I haven't the slightest. But then, I'm notoriously insensitive when it comes to spoilers, so perhaps my judgment isn't the soundest in this matter.

Dinru: Perhaps the fact that at the end of Symphonia, the two worlds merge into the world of Phantasia, and a lot of the locations have similar names? I have no clue.

Runespoor: I've filled out the character sheet for Tales Of Symphonia characters, but I have no idea how spoilerised the whole thing should be. Basically, everything about Mithos at least is one big giant bloating spoiler. I've also failed majorly in the way of character summaries for Lloyd, to start with. (And there's bound to be more tropes relating to Presea and Regal than those I've just put.)

Couldn't we have a separate character sheet? Because spoiling a character for someone looking for another game would suck.

Slvstr Chung: Did anyone else think that Symphonia's Big Bad being voice-acted by FFX's protagonist was Fridge Brilliance? If I add that to the page, will I be pounced on for pointing out that the two games have connections? *rolleyes*

Wild Knight: If you can explain how, I don't see why not...but real life circumstances about the voices of two different characters in two different games doesn't strike me as something that could be Fridge Brilliance. Granted, I'm not an authority on the subject. Is it about some kind of comparison between the first third of the game and the entire plot of FFX?

Slvstr Chung: More or less. I played FFX and loved it; a year later, I played Symphonia, and loved it. My favorite part was the completely-unintentional way the games start out identical and then start branching out in their own directions. In some ways, they comment on each other. Plus, both Tidus and Mithos are characters who look at the world, see that it's a mess, and try to change it for the sake of someone they love. They're like flip-sides of the same coin, which is merely underlined by having the same seiyuu.

Wild Knight: For the record, they ain't seiyuu if they ain't in Japan. That said, I see no reason why you can't add that to the actual Fridge Brilliance page (if you haven't already, of course), but as it's not something most of the fanbase noticed, it probably doesn't work on this page.

Someone needs to remove the crap from the article. In this case separate Dawn/Knight of Rataetc from the original game. Rant about the second game here. — Darkdata

Wild Knight: By separating them, do you mean giving Dawn of the New World its own list below the list for the original? I am noticing from a glance over that the page needs some severe cleaning, but I'm too tired and sick to do everything...

Darkdata: It's own listor page.

Bufuman: I support that notion. Dot NW needs it's own page, so that people like me, who have played the original but not the sequel (or even vice versa, though I can't think who would do that) don't get spoiled. Dammit, I need money so I can buy Dot NW.

Bufuman again: So Yeah, I opted to go ahead and make a separate page for Dawn of the New World. Feel free to check it out and make improvements.

Rogue 7: Ewww...I vote to pull the image. Not only does ingame footage generally make for bad illustrative material, there's that ugly caption on it.

wit: woot edit war on this page woot woot

Red Viking: Just ignore the guy, Airship Canon. Wit's just trying to get a rise out of you.

Wild Knight: I think you both need to cut it the fuck out. Seriously, it's getting annoying. Take It To The Forums or something, or preferably nowhere.

wit: I don't think he's reading this page

Rogue 7: Seriously, guys, this is fucking retarded. I haven't played the sequel, but I do recall vague bits of Ho Yay between Lloyd and Zelos, so I'd be in favor of leaving it, but seriously, cut it out.

wit: I agree!

Rogue 7: Airship Cannon, usually there needs to be a good reason to delete a trope rather than add it in. So I'm going to ask for an explanation.

Red Viking: I've dealt with Airship Canon enough times to tell you that his "reason" most likely stems from the fact Lloyd/Colette is his OTP. I was hoping he'd prove me wrong, but this is the only conclusion I'm left with.

wit: That's exactly why I removed his "additions" to the tropes in question, since they very rarely take canon into account. That and I also like pissing off obsessive OTP fans. Also I still don't think he's reading this page at all. Also also I just pointed him to here so he'll have to explain himself to you guys. Or not.

wit, again: Aaaaaand it looks like he won't.

Red Viking: Dear Lord, Give. It. A. Rest.

Matrix: Airship Canon, we do not appreciate Fan Dumb here, so stop being a whiny prick about your OTP or just leave the site.

Red Viking: Or at least explain to us why you're so insistent on deleting that particular entry. As it stands, we've written you off as a militant shipper because you're not giving us a reason to think otherwise. Why do your comments simply amount to a Take That! instead of defending yourself?

The Tambourine Man: Should we add a section on to this page for the anime, or not?

I deleted this:
  • Fridge Logic: Given their REAL purpose, why are there male Chosens?
because the answer is actually in the game: Solely to keep the bloodline going. It is stated that the Cruxis arranges marriages to produce offsprings with a 'mana signature' as close to Martel's as possible - the whole thing is like a giant, absurdly long genetic selection. Can't remember where I read that there are other Chosen lines in Sylvarant, in case Colette's goes extinct. Thus in Zelos' case, 'Chosen' is purely a title and he serves no other actual purpose to the Cruxis than to make children. So yes, if mana signatures work exactly like genetics, it'd probably be impossible for Martel to reincarnate in Zelos. This being said, that would be hilarious.
