Now that I think about and compare the pages, I'm not sure this is different enough from Lex Luthor Security to be a separate page.

Shire Nomad: Lex Luthor Security seems to be an extreme, non-sitcom case of this, where a) the person entering unannounced is hostile rather than merely annoying, and b) the place they're entering is somewhere that should have some actual security measures (guards, cameras, etc.) which don't seem to be working as effectively as planned. The That's My Bush example under Luthor does serve as an example of the similarities, though.

Anonymous Mc Cartneyfan: Which trope was first? If Your Door Was Open is, keep it—the name's more intuitive, and this trope's more general. (You did say you created this long ago.) If not, I'm less sure—there is a similarity, and I like how Lex Luthor Security is written right now.

Charred Knight: I would differentiate it by having Lex Luthor Security being the serious version where you expect the person to have not only locks but the top of the line securtiy system, and Your Door Was Open to be the comedic version. It would be kind of weird to try to claim the Gargoyles easily getting into Xanatos building being the same as Negi walking into Chisame's room. That would just mean moving the That's My Bush example here. A whole lot easier than having to move about 10 legitamite entries into Lex Luthor Security.

arromdee: I believe Lex Luthor Security already existed at the time, though I can't prove it.

SKJAM: An example that was fixed in the final version, but amusing nonetheless. A Marmalade Boy / Sailor Moon fanfic where the male lead kept walking into Miki's room ala this trope—except that in one chapter, Miki was shown carefully closing her door and locking it. Three pages later, the boy walks into the room through the open door, commenting that Miki really should close it if she doesn't want people wandering in.
