Tabby: The Scrubs example seems to be missing a word. Also, I could swear this happened to Krycek in one of his first appearances on The X-Files, but I can't remember the episode.

This article seems to be indicating being asked to fetch snacks/coffee is always a bad thing. Not so with Xander and Buffy. The main gang understands that eating while researching how to save the world is important.

Jketchum 31: Forgive the noobishness, but what about when the kid who's demeaningly asked to get coffee ends up trumping the person who asked? I"m not sure if it'd be a subtrope or part of another trope or what but it seems to happen enough. Example: Death Note's Matsuda. L dies and Matsuda ultimately shoots Light, stopping him from writing and saving countless lives. And I'm pretty sure I've seen the classic example where the kid who gets coffee for their crappy boss ultimtaely outranks or ousts or defeats the boss, but I can't think of any specific ones. Help?
