Fast Eddie: Planish, in ...

Subverted in Futurama by the sinister alien Morbo and his perky human co-anchor Linda.
... it would be interesting to know how it was subverted. Does Futurama set us up to think that witty banter is coming, but then slips dull banter in at the last moment? Assume not everyone has seen Futurama.

Ununnilium: Basically... well, I'll put it in the entry.

Kilyle: Um, does Bob Saget's part on America's Funniest Home Videos count here, or is that a different trope? The "let's pad the show with some stupid humor since we don't actually have enough videos to fill the hour" stuff.

Also, does this trope fit for the morning portion of country stations? I don't usually wake up early, but the past few weeks I've had to get up at 7 AM, and upon turning to country stations I found that instead of country music, they had talk shows. Plus maybe two or three songs per hour. After switching between three stations, trying to get as high a music-to-talk ratio as possible, for a few days, I gave up and went to CD's. (Country radio has failed me. If I ever own a country station, there will be back-to-back songs with not so much as a commercial break between the hours of 6 AM and 10 AM.) But anyway, does that count for this trope, or no?

movie007: It's not just country stations. It happens on rock stations, too. Unfortunately, many people actually enjoying to that stuff. Not for me! I want my music in the morning.

gibberingtroper: I would appreciate a little effort from the haters on the other side of the aisle. Don't just assume we all share your disdain for Fox News. Don't assume that Fox News has already been completely discredited just because you don't like the political views expressed by its political commentators. I see a lot of people say "Fox News sucks" or "Fox News is a bunch of idiots" but they write it in such a way as to assume we're all on board with that opinion, and they don't provide examples or make references to anything. So under the entry "Fox News . . . just, Fox News" I'm asking for at least one example of the Witty Banter trope on that network. This shouldn't be hard, because ITS A 24 HOUR NEWS NETWORK. Go to youtube, do a search for "Fox News Sucks" or "Fox News Bloopers" or, if its really all that bad, just tune in for 10 minutes and wait for them to prove you right. C'mon people! I'll check back in a few days and if I don't see an example, I'm going to call you out on this on the actual page. I know from experience they don't like political debates on the actual pages so this would then lead to the whole thing being deleted.

Caswin: The introduction sounds overly negative. Radio "suffers" from this? Where does a duo like Bob and Tom fit into it?
