Working Title: What Measure Is A Humanoid: From YKTTW
This trope seems to have strayed a little from what I had in mind when I first suggested it, since when I suggested it I was thinking of the assorted anime pairings where one half's 'true' form wasn't even human shaped, the other half knew about this, and didn't really care, and the audience is fine with this. In other words, the trope was intended to cover the fact that implications of beastility, and the inherent Squick factor thereof, are easily dodged by having the non-human partner look human some of the time, even though it's not their natural form. As things are at the moment, it's veering a little too close to Interspecies Romance.
