CAD: Seems like "Scrappy Mechanic but hardware-specific" I think it could work. Might not even be a subtrope, if you consider a "gameplay mechanic" and a "control scheme" to be different things.
Anonymous Mc Cartneyfan: Seconded. Or "gameplay mechanic/control schema meant to show off hardware feature that you wish wasn't there..." All games for the Virtual Boy could make the example list.
Anonymous Mc Cartneyfan: I adjusted the description. I hope this helps. (Hey, maybe we could even remove the subjective banner...)
Komodin: I can't help but get the feeling that this "trope" is little more than a "Complaining About Game Features You Don't Like" of sorts. How is this any different from Scrappy Mechanic?
Dragon Quest Z: And the name refers to a specific system, which so far seems to be the punching bag of the gaming press. That's about as clear a kind of complaining as you can get. If nothing else, rename this.
Arutema: Rename to "Hardware-induced Scrappy Mechanic" or "Scrappy Control Scheme"? Transplant relevant examples already in Scrappy Mechanic?
Arutema: Removed a bunch of examples that weren't related to the input device!
