Working Title: Two Person Love Triangle: From YKTTW
fleb: Someone mentioned "The webmanga Red String has this going on" in YKTTW but didn't give useful details.
And this is definitely a weird love triangle, but isn't exactly an example.
Anonymous Mc Cartneyfan: Reincarnation works like The Nth Doctor, only more low-key. Because Kagome is Kikyo's reincarnation, it doesn't matter how different they behave - deep down inside, they're the same person. So Kikyo-Inu Yasha-Kagome counts as a Two-Person Love Triangle for the same reason a Nine-Rose-Ten triangle would count.
fleb: It fits the trope's title word-for-word, but this trope is about identity confusion-based triangles. It doesn't count if everyone involved can know the two people are, on some Time Travel/other Phlebotinum-based level, the same person, and the triangle continues to exist anyway. There has to be Dramatic Irony.
fleb: I wrote the Tarzan example with just passing knowledge of Tarzan based on a YKTTW comment, but I just read The Other Wiki's plot summary for the first Tarzan book, and it doesn't look like an example actually. Cutting for now.
- *The first Tarzan book had this.
Grenedle: How is this different from Loves My Alter Ego? They seem like pretty much the same thing to me.
