dotchan: Would Pollo and Vorenus from Rome count, or are they disqualified on account of being main characters?

Dark Sasami: It could be said that this is one of The Oldest Ones in the Book, the original pair being Rosencrantz and Guildenstern.

Andyzero: Alisa was a ghost, wasn't Suzuka's sister a vampire in Triangle Heart? I know her maid was an Artificial Human with a robot arm.

Jisu: Noel was a full robot, built by Sakura from the first game. And Suzuka didn't exist, she was written in solely for Nanoha.

etherjammer: I'd dispute that Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are an example of this trope; in Hamlet, they're just minor characters who are actually part of the plot, with a sinister motive. It's not until Tom Stoppard's play that they're retconned to be Those Two Guys. Besides, there's an earlier example (although it's not two guys): the Herald, in Aeschylus's Agamemnon.

TJ Devil 02: From the 80s Totally Radical cartoon, do Rocksteady and Bebop count, or are they more of a Team Rocket type?

Umptyscope: Comics — Tag And Bink, the hapless undercover Rebel spies who find themselves in th background of most major events in the Star Wars universe.

LO Rd: Proposition to change the trope picture into one of Taniguchi and Kunikida, just to complete the circle.

Filby: You know, I uploaded the Hiroshi and Daisuke picture just 'cause I thought they were the blandest you can get, but given the relationship between this wiki and Haruhiism... I think Taniguchi and Kunikida would be so much better. I'll get on that .

...aaand I'm coming up blank. Anyone else care to handle this?

LO Rd: I think I found a good one that shows the two side by side not looking too goofy. Now to work Haruhi images into the rest of the tropes...

Luis Dantas: I see that my Death Note example was removed. I am sure there is a good reason for it, but would like to know which is it.

Man Without A Body: Can we change the picture to something a bit more recognizable? Maybe Lenny and Carl?

Kobold: Example Harry Potter: Fred&George as well as Crabbe&Goyle don't really fit this trope, do they? They have way too much plot relevance to be "those two guys"

Scuzgob: Who are those two guys in the picture? Shouldn't there be a pic of something recogniseable rather than these generic anime guys?

Lale: Moved Sam and Freddy to Drop-In Character.
