Sunder The Gold: I'd rather intended The Medic to mean the PRIMARY medic of the team, not everyone in the team with healing powers. Am I being too rigid?
Neko Incardine: I'd say that as long as the PRIMARY medic is clearly demarcated, it's good to note the others who are capable and consider their particular contrasts. Also, with Naruto, I would actually care to think that Kabuto makes a better example for the medical ninja than Tsunade, if only because he does much more severe feats with his skills and is more often seen healing himself or others than fighting - a primary WTF factor of him before he surgically attaches parts of Orochimaru's body to himself was that he would actively heal Naruto and others while continually claiming that he is their enemy. (Sakura, however, definitely fits due to her core team position.)
Micah: I removed this from the Aragorn example, as I think it misunderstands the way that particular prophecy is supposed to work: "And that's even before he gets the "hands of the healer" later on."
Is there a trope for someone getting beaten up then yelling 'Medic!' or in fantasy cases, 'Cleric!'? I couldn't figure out how to search for it other than 'medic', which got me here. :P Like in the last frame of this
