Where's Papa Going With That Ax? launched as Stab the Scorpion: From YKTTW

Big T: Removed this Conversation In The Main Page here. As part of the example was contested, I took that part out. I struck out the part I left behind. If you can figure out a way to put the other information on the page without entering Thread Mode, have at it.

  • The second Corinthian pulls this on Matthew — whom he had up to that point sworn to kill — in The Sandman. It is subsequently subverted when we learn that the Corinthian had really aimed for Matthew with intent to kill, and that Dream had arranged matters into this trope instead by altering the reality of the Dreaming at the time.
    • This is ambiguous, actually... Dream may have changed the Corinthian's aim, or he may have changed the Corinthian's mind: the Corinthian seems neither surprised nor unhappy to have saved Matthew rather than killing him.
      • No, it's explained. Dream sent the Nybbas, and the Corinthian changed his mind and stabbed the spider instead.

Skazka: So he just felt like stabbing something? Not caring what it was? How in character of him.
