Pro-Mole: It's so obvious I think there's something wrong, so let me ask: why the heck Aerith isn't here yet?
Mman: Her death has nothing to do with this trope; this is about characters having a strong reaction themselves, or from others (justifably or not) for something they have done multiple times before in much the same (or even worse) circumstances without anyone batting an eyelid. Unless you mean the characters feelings towards Sephiroth after, but that's justified as Aeris' death is more personal to them.
