Strabo: Shouldn't this be 'Scanlation'? That's the term I'm more familiar with. It gets more hits on Google too.
Citizen: I remember this being renamed to that before. Maybe it was reverted in The Great Crash? Restored. /// (from Cut List) Scanslation, a misspelling direct to Scanlation. It feels odd to say that about a Fan Speak Tropemanteau, but the latter is the prevalent form... (Er... no offense meant, LT)
Looney Toons: <shrug> I'm not going to be a jerk about it. I will note, though, that I've never heard "scanlation", and that my friends who practice the art all say "scanslation". Not to mention that it parallels "translation" better.
Citizen: I agree with that. But scanslation is just as uncommon to me and Google—not that a search engine is the end-all or anything. I don't have any friends in the business, so to speak, though.
dkellis: I do have Friends In The Business, but I've seen both uses in about equal amounts. One guy uses it interchangeably. I would say leave one as a redirect to the other.
Ununnilium: I agree. Misspelling redirects are bad, legitimate alternate usage redirects are good.
Cope: Removed these two paragraphs, since Samurai Pizza Cats was a Gag Dub and not a scanlation.
