From YKTTW

arromdee: I googled the story about the Ipod saving the life of the Iraqi soldier. The third article in the list stated that "At point blank range an AK-47 round is devastating and has a decent chance of passing through the Interceptor body armor vests used by Army soldiers". The description in the trope seems to be trying to connect this to the "our soldiers aren't being given good armor" meme. I don't think it's all that surprising that armor isn't invulnerability and that an AK-47 at point blank range can sometimes go through it.

Blayde: the Teddy Roosevelt example given in the article strikes me as closer to Made of Iron than Bad Ass Normal, but I can't think of a way to edit that in without it looking like Natter

Arivne: deleted the following Film entry, as it belongs on the Bulletproof Vest page (and is, in fact on that page already):

  • Being Genre Savvy saves Marty McFly in Back To The Future 3. Expecting to be blasted in the chest, he hides a sheet of metal in it.
