Kat: Removed "* A plot element in most Jane Austen books." because it isn't, not really. It sort of shows up in the backstory of Persuasion, and an Auntie Veto is threatened in Pride and Prejudice (but never materializes since Mr. Darcy's reaction boils down to "bitch please"), but it doesn't affect the others in any appreciable way.
