Space Ace: My suggestion here is to expand this to encompass both the Animé and the Western cinema usage. Hell, definitions are almost exactly the same as they are (and it's very likely that Animé picked it up from the West), with the divide between trendy glasses and the heavy, dark-rimmed, inches thick Nerd Glasses.

And I just want to do this so I can mention the Disney film Ice Princess. The main character is a smart girl and has Nerd Glasses propped on her forehead on the cover, even though they, or glasses of any kind, are never shown in the film itself.

Isn't the fact that Gordon Freeman doesn't take his nerd glasses off even after his transition into badass make him even more badass.

Rogue 7: Boyo, with that Army example, I really hope that getting those glasses comes quickly. I'm literally three-quarters blind without my contacts, and going without them for a week would be hellish.
