From YKTTW Working Title: One Gender School
Is Sasameki Koto really that notable for being a Girls' Love work that takes place at a co-ed school?
C Banana: For what it's worth, here are the Girls' Love anime/mangas that take place at a co-ed school or have a co-ed school as an important backdrop (at least the one's we have blue linked)...- Creo The Crimson Crises
- Girl X Girl X Boy
- Honey Crush
- Kannazuki No Miko
- Kashimashi Girl Meets Girl
- Revolutionary Girl Utena
- Sasameki Koto
- Saki, kind of. The main school is co-ed but all the other schools are Girls only schools.
Koveras: First off, There Is No Such Thing As Notability. ;) Secondly, Sasameki Koto is singled out for its depiction of ostracization of young lesbians in a co-ed school, not just for featuring the latter. Said ostracization serves to underline and explain the prevalence of single-gender schools in GL genre, thus contributing significantly to understanding of the article's topic in that context.
C Banana: I was thinking more about whether an Averted Trope was worth mentioning or not regarding a Girls' Love series.
- "Averting is generally not an example for mentioning on a trope page, unless the trope is so universal that exceptions truly stand out or the example is particularly noticeable or important within the work in question."
