Noaqiyeum: Carrot Ironfoundersson is NOT an example. With reference to The Fifth Elephant (okay, without reference, but at least that's what I'm trying to remember), Carrot knows everything a cultural dwarf is supposed to, which makes him a dwarf according to everyone but the dwarven nationalists, and the dwarves are perfectly fine with him being a human "as well."
So, is this on the verge of becoming a Discredited Trope?
