Lord Seth: Is Gage really an example of this? It talks about how he was bad at his job, but this trope is for people who are bad at their job but good at everything else. The example just lists him as bad at his job and...well, nothing else.
Khathi: Removed Honorverse example. As it was said, this trope is for people out of their place, but somewhat competent. Honor's domestic opponents are neither — petty politicking is where they belong, and they are braindead in anything except protecting their privileges.
