Anonymous: I believe that the N-1 Starfighter is one of these, at least in the Star Wars: Rogue Squadron games. It's fast, agile, carries powerful armaments, and is - if I'm not mistaken - just as durable as the slower and less agile X-Wing. (alternate link for X-wing) The N-1 is game breaking in the first two, especially the first, due to the fact that it has twin rapid fire blaster cannons and a load of ten proton torpedoes, while still being roughly as fast and agile as an A-Wing.
