Quandtuniverse: Would the following quote be appropriate?

Smudge (from the Monica's Gang comics, about Darti Vesgo, their "no celebrities were harmed" version of Darth Vader): It's cuz Darti Vesgo is my favorite villain! So I created an alternate ending in my little head! He just pretends to die! Actually, he is turned into a beautiful blue butterfly and goes live in the pony paradise, where everyone is happy, everything is pretty and it never rains!

Tanto: No no no. I can understand changing the name, but there is no point whatsoever in spoilering the examples. You may not even have examples if you're going to do that. Just stick a general warning at the top, as with Treacherous Advisor.

DomaDoma: Especially as there already was such a warning, duly acted upon.

Zeke: The Sirius item looks like an artifact from some earlier trope name. What was t his called before Dumbledore Lives? Or do people just happen to use the phrase "He's just hiding" a lot with Sirius?

Morgan Wick: (sighs, seethes) Check... the... history. It only changed when the page changed from DL.

Zeke: Is it necessary to seethe at me like I'm some idiot noob? The whole reason I didn't bother checking the history is that I've been here long enough to notice histories aren't archived permanently (and don't show renamings). Since you either didn't notice the actual problem (the phrase "lends the trope its name") or didn't fix it despite knowing so much better than me, I don't think you have any high ground.

Anyway. The fact that this came after the renaming actually makes it worse; I was guessing the article had some older name like Sirius Denial, but in fact the editor just swapped Dumbledore and Sirius without reading the rest of the sentence. I've fixed it.

Tanto: The page was launched as Dumbledore Lives.

Morgan Wick: I seethe at everybody because everybody is an idiot noob. Just because the history is worthless most of the time doesn't mean it's not worth a try. And Tanto doesn't do anything to defend the sentence? Why am I surrounded by such fools - not just in the wiki, but on all of planet Earth?

Or, to put it in a less trolling way, I don't think anyone should be immune to being snarked at and treated like an idiot, even if they're Stephen Hawking.

Phartman: Well, as long as the flames are lit...

Fast Eddie: Morgan, stop being rude to people. It is really annoying and spoils the party atmosphere. There are plenty of places on the 'net you can go to be unpleasant other than here.

Phartman: We are all just idiot noobs, so he must be justified in his rudeness. Or does he, like most of his sort, just describe rudeness it as "not suffering fools?"

Ununnilium: Being rude about rudeness does not, in fact, cancel out and become not rude.

Anyway. "He's Just Hiding" itself refers to Sirius, so.

Phartman: Bending over and taking it doesn't stop rudeness either.

Whoops, didn't realize that was also part of your original comment. My bad.

Binaroid: Question — would it be okay to include dead characters with just disturbingly large, active and long-lasting fanbases (e.g. Yura from Inu Yasha, or Ryofu Housen from Ikki Tousen)), or is this trope reserved for characters whose deaths inspired large outbreaks of Fan Dumb alongside the backlash, like Sirius?

Lale: I would say the entry implies denial or backlash (on a mass scale) as a requirement. A fanbase that lasts after a character's death is no less logical than any other Fanon.

Ununnilium: Indeed.

Tanto: Deleted the Deathly Hollows spoiler because it's not particularly relevant.
Listen2Reason: I'm remembering a video game/series compendium thing for Babylon 5 that said Marcus Cole was cryogenically frozen. It was 'official', but was it Word of God? Well, probably not. I also recall reading in a book about Babylon 5 where J. Michael Straczynski considered this plotline for Marcus but then decided not to pursue it. My point is, I'm not sure the entry in this page is accurate enough, but I'm not sure how to rewrite it either...

DomaDoma 1.21.08: Expect an outbreak something fierce on the week of April 13.
Ronfar: Deleted the entry about Wicked the musical, because it's an example of Faking the Dead, not this.

Austin: About Vergil, is all of that really confirmed? According to the Jossed trope, the demon shown behind Nero resembles Vergil's trigger form, but this article acts like it was unmistakenbly meant to be Vergil.
Dragon Quest Z: Did someone revert the whole page? I rewrote the description to be neutral, because Tropes Are Not Bad, and now we have this bashing description and examples back.

EDIT: Never mind. This just isn't redirected to the punctuated page, and it should be. Fixing that.
