Taper W: I don't think the Otaku No Video example given fits this at all. Cosplay, in that context, is just something otaku do at cons. (The anime Maison Ikkoku had a local festival for which various of the apartment building's tenants dressed as traditional Japanese monsters, for a Halloween Episode that fit this trope much better, but still isn't quite right -- I'd lean towards keeping it strictly webcomic-based.)
