Battypichugirl2: Not really sure if the caption applies, since Kagura starts evil, but then fluctuates between grudgingly doing Naraku's bidding and full-on (temporary) Heel Face Turns. At least until Redemption Equals Death, that is.

Lina: Removed the additional edit on the A Song Of Ice And Fire example about how several other characters end up with scars. It's true, but it's not really a case of this trope unless you can provide a more specific example and what it symbolizes.

Freezair For A Limited Time: I know we normally discourage personal anecdotes and the like as page quotes, but this one came up in a Seinfeldian Conversation, and it's just so perfect: is there a chance in Hades we could use it? Is it funny enough?

"Giving your character a large, highly visible scar is basically putting a neon sign on them that says 'I HAVE A MYSTERIOUS PAST YOU ARE GOING TO WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT EVENTUALLY.'"

T Beholder: ...or The Tokyo Fireball, or test runs, or a cyborg gone nuts, or..?

The scar, though, is actually the result (most likely) of a falling out he had with Ladyof War Hot Scientist Reina Sohou, and thus not actually an indicator of his alignment.
